Wonderful history with delightful hosts! This is a "must stay here" choice if you are in the Harper 's Ferry / Charles Town area.

Lovely historic home and wonderful hosts

As soon as we walked in, my wife and I were greeted by Marie. She gave us a tour of the home and explained the wonderful history. Each afternoon there were even homemade desserts for all the guests to enjoy. I would highly recommend this B&B - reasonable prices, stellar service, comfortable accommodations and a delicious breakfast each morning on our 3 night stay. Donn and Marie are excellent inn keepers who are willing to share their knowledge of the local towns and make your visit a memorable one!

Great vist

If you are a history buff, this is the place to stay because Grant, Lee, Jackson and many more visited or stayed here. Marie was super hostess. Rooms were very comfortable and had treats at arms length. Great breakfast and fantastic chocolate cookies. Restaurants - Med Cafe is super, Italian is great for desserts or dinner. Local area full of shops and history. Would stay here again.

Gorgeous home; fabulous hosts; great location!

Donn and Marie were the most marvelous hosts! Their house is historic, restored authentically, and we now know all the history of it, as well, due to their interest, research, and gracious sharing of it. We will be back!

Near both wilderness and Washington

The Carriage Inn was an excellent location that was near the Appalachian Trail and an arms length from DC. Innkeepers Donn and Marie provided a welcoming environment as well as a touch of historical perspective the inn has played over the past 150 years. All of this combined with nice restaurants within walking distance made our stay a fine experience

Carriage Inn

We had a fabulous 2 nite stay at the Carriage Inn. Donn and Marie were the ultimate host/hostess. They could not have been more accommodating and did all they could to enhance our stay and make it a memorable experience - which they did. We went with another couple for a get-away-from-home short trip and all of us had a fabulous time. Hospitality and breakfast were outstanding. We would return in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful stay celebrating our Anniversary!! Unfortunantly we did not get the room we had booked, but the one in it's place was rich with history too! The house was quiet, relaxing, and the attention to detail was noticed throughout our stay! Breakfast was absolutely delicious as well! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality! We highly recommend this B&B!! Chris & Sheri B.

Wonderful Anniversary Weekend

When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Donn and Marie and within. Few minuted were in our suite. We stayed in the Copper Beech Suite for the first time and it was wonderful. It was nicely decorated with a king size bed, a spa tub and attached porch where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning. Donn helped me surprise my husband with a homemade anniversary cake and balloon in our suite - thank you ! Thank you both for opening your home to us again and making our weekend special.

Charming Place to Stay in a Beautiful Town

4.0 on June 13, 2014

I traveled from New York for the weekend and found this gem of a bed and breakfast in the absolutely beautiful town of Charles Town. The location is perfect; downtown is a short distance away and the hosts recommend several good places to eat. The house itself has a wonderful history and is well-kept. The Shenandoah Suite has an enclosed porch which was definitely a highlight of my stay! Breakfast is delicious and the owners are personable and concerned with making sure guests enjoy their visit. I will definitely stay here again!
