This is a lovely B & B with beautiful public rooms and beautiful rooms to stay. Our hosts, Marie & Mike made us feel very welcome. Everything was very clean. Our breakfasts were delicious! Marie gave us great information on the area. We stayed in the Tower Room, which had room for our friends (also staying there) to join us in the evenings after sightseeing in the area. We loved it.
When traveling with 2 to 3 couples the Tower Room is one of the rooms that should be booked. It does give the group a great place to chat while the guest staying in the Tower Room some privacy because of the bedroom/parlor layout. Yes, concierge service is one of the many perks we provide our guests. Check out our web site for ideas on 'Day Trips'. This 5 star is very heart-warming to us as we strive to provide the very best. Thank you to our guest for the kind review.

This was a welcome respite from our month long trip. Very relaxing, and then Marie directed us to a fab restaurant nearby. Breakfast was truly delicious. Great place for a special event too!
Happy to have provided the respite you so desired. It was our pleasure to be your hosts. Hope you can return on your next trip through the area.

Marie was exceptional and helped us with our tour plans. Where to go and where to eat. The B & B is beautifully decorated for the Victorian time it represents. We loved the room. Would come again.
Happy to help! There is nothing like getting the inside details than from a local! So, come "Stay Like A Local" at the Westby House Inn!

We've had several very enjoyable weekend stays at this Inn. Marie and Mike are fabulous hosts, making you feel welcome and appreciated. Breakfasts are excellent in terms of quality and presentation. The property is well maintained to the point that, returning to the same room a year later, you could almost imagine that no one else had stayed there in the meantime. We look forward to our almost annual visits.
Offering the Right Levels of History, Comfort, and Hospitality is our motto! With 18 years of experience at Innkeeping, it is rewarding to have so many repeat guests because of what we offer. There are so many wonderful things to do and see in Southwest Wisconsin's Driftless Area that add to enjoyable weekends.

The property is very well maintained as showcases some nice Victorian Features. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and the date-night package was a nice surprise for my wife. Breakfast was well prepared, nice presentation and again in a very inviting atmosphere.
We offer several "Enhance Your Stay" packages that are waiting in your room for your arrival. The date-night package of wine, cheeses, chocolates and fresh flowers is perfect for those arriving late or early. It can be added-on to your reservation online or by phone. Thank you guest for taking the time to share your experience with our future guests!

Never stayed in a bed and breakfast before. A beautiful home, always something new to see every time we walked around. Always felt welcomed! We felt so comfortable there, and the owners are always trying to make sure we had everything we needed. We stayed for whole weekend and the breakfast the first morning was fantastic, i actually figured that it couldn't be topped the next day but it was! Already told my whole family that they have to stay there!
Breakfast does seem to top off a weekend at the inn with our guests! We enjoy being creative and like using local foods in the menu. We also offer a lighter breakfast for those who are not breakfast diners, or not as adventurous with breakfast foods as maybe dinner foods. Glad the atmosphere and comfort met the expectations of this guest. And.. dear guest, thank you for the glowing review.

I recently stayed in the Rose room at this beautiful B&B. The public and guest rooms are well-appointed, with a neat display of antiques. My room was cozy with a comfortable bed. Marie is a very gracious hostess, and an excellent chef! Our breakfast was amazing. I'll certainly stay here again when I return to the area.
The Rose Room is just one of five B&B rooms that speaks to our mission of 'Comfort, History, and Hospitality'. We are happy that all these were met on this stay. Hope you can return to enjoy more of the inn again!

This was a very nice way to spend a night. We had evening's but would have been a great place a certain to just sit and relax. Breakfast was delightful.
Even getting away for one night will energize oneself! Our Tower Room is a great space to do that in. Appreciate the 5 star review!

We decided to take a short road trip and in the process of reviewing " where to stay" web sites, we came across the Westby House Inn and decided to give it a try. We didn't know what to expect with a B&B, but were very impressed with the hospitality and quaintness of this B&B.
B&B's are the Best Way to Stay and overjoyed that your 1st B&B impressed you to either return to the inn and/or stay at others. Our Motto - Offering the Right Levels of History, Comfort, and Hospitality.

Lovely inn, great hosts, fantastic breakfast. (Even the GF breakfast was yummy!!) What more do you need? It's an excellent place to stay if you're in the western Wisconsin area. There are numerous wineries within hours of the Westby, so this inn is a charming place to choose as your base for your wine tasting adventure. Just go---you'll love it!
touring wineries continuess to be very popular with guests! It is great way to see the Great River Road. The beautiful vistas at Branches Winery, which is just 5 minutes from the inn, while only 7 miles is the Vernon Vineyards. Ask about Wine Tours by Mr Trip-it Limousine Service. You don't have to drive!!!

If your travel plans include an overnight stay in Wisconsin's Driftless Area, you must make the Westby House Inn your lodging choice. We just spent the weekend there again (second-time visitors) and it was even better than the first. We met ten friends there and the Westby House was our collective home for a getaway weekend together. Mike and Marie were great hosts, addressing every possible need without being "intrusive," as the B & B experience can be sometimes. The rooms at the Inn are unique and done in a Victorian fashion to match the stately ambiance of the property. Outside the main house are additional rooms, each with their own themes and special touches (the Pinewood Room is like a cabin "up north"). As for meals, the Wesby House serves fresh and unique 3-4-course breakfasts each day and even offers a little cafe for lunches and light bites later. And for those who require all the travel amenities, this Inn has free high speed wi-fi, cable TV, and all the trappings. We've grown attached to the Westby House Inn and have made it our "go to" lodging in the Driftless. You won't be disappointed.
Thank you for assuring our future guests that a trip to the Driftless Area is a must do!

I had made a drive through visit to Westby several years ago when I saw the bed and breakfast. I thought I'd like to come back and stay there. This time I planned my trip so I could stay there. What a delightful place and Marie and Mike have done such a great job thinking of any and everything you might need. I look forward to another visit and my trips between Colorado and the Wisconsin Northwoods. Sue

The charming Westby Room was a beautiful and warm reprieve from the cold winter weather. I was in town visiting family, and everything I needed was available to me. I never left the room! The electric, heated fireplace and music provided quiet ambiance to refresh my soul before returning to the world the next day. The breakfast was wonderful, and the owners were so hospitable. I am looking forward to my next visit!
We are joyed that your stay was a refreshing reprieve. Little amenities like the fireplace is just a way to assure us that we are meeting our guests expectations. The Westby Room features a 4-poster king bed, flat screen TV, in-room refrigerator and comfortable sitting sofas. It is a popular room so, book early!

We have stayed at the Westby House twice now, they have been most memorable. The Inn is beautiful, the rooms are tastefully appointed, and Mike and Marie made us feel more than like at home, more like family. We highly recommend Westby House for the next time you visit the La Crosse area.
..and the short 25-minute drive between La Crosse and Westby is always very scenic any time of year! Our passion is sharing our hospitality, the historic inn and its amenities, and glad we meet them once again with your return stay.

Stayed here for a delayed honeymoon and it was worth the wait. Our hosts were very gracious and classy. Check-in was easy. The room was amazing! The date night package was just perfect for the honeymoon. The chocolates were delicious. The fireplace and hot tub were perfect. Very thoughtful of staff to shovel side walk and brush snow off of our car. Breakfast was amazing. Only one small negative, the coffee pot had old coffee grounds in it. Other than that, our stay was amazing and we will definitely return :)
Delayed Honeymoons are much more enjoyable as you are not totally exhausted from a long wedding day. The Victorianne Room is the perfect spot with all the amenities it has to offer. Glad you had an amazing stay. We apologize for the coffee pot oversight. I wondered how coffee was made when the glass carafe and cups were clean. It was discussed with housekeeping right away and you just confirmed what I thought happened. Thank you for mentioning it. We look forward to a return and maybe celebrate an anniversary!

We had a great, relaxing stay here in July 2014. We were late on our first day for our tea appointment, but Marie kindly stayed until we arrived and served us. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet.
Afternoon Tea is a great way to start a stay at the Inn like this couple did. You will savor on teas sandwiches, scones, pastries, and of course hot tea. Call Marie to coordinate your Afternoon Tea with your check-in time. Appreciate the kind review!

Even though it was a rainy couple of days, we still had an enjoyable stay at Westby House. We came for fishing, biking, canoeing, and relaxation and the only disappointment was not being able to canoe. Westby House is a beautiful grand Victorian with beautiful furnishings. Very clean and the good breakfasts reflected the seasonal produce of the area. We definitely would stay here again.
Mother Nature is unpredictable at her best. Happy you still had a nice time. Hope your next visit will be with sunny weather on the horizon.

Plan to relax in clean and comfortable rooms, be served a delicious breakfast...one of the best we have ever eaten anywhere, receive warm hospitality from this delightful couple, Mike and Marie. Their recommendations for sights to see were more than what we had time for, but we will return someday to finish the list and stay there again. The Library Room is quite charming and it was hard to choose from each one. Next time, we would stay two nights. The Tower Room looks very inviting. Be sure to check out Branches Winery, great wines and another really great couple! Ole and Lena Kaffe Hus has goodies, too!
Yes, two nights or more is the best plan of action when coming to this area. So much to see and do. Visit www.DriftlessWisconsin.com for day trip ideas, outdoor activities, local artisans, local foods, and more. See why these guests want to return! We are overwhelmed by this helpful review. My husband and I were visiting from Colorado and needed a place close to LaCrosse. We decided to stay at the Westby House and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. Mike & Marie were such gracious hosts and everything about our stay was over the top - the linens, the food, the wine selection, they have thought of every detail! The next time we are in the area we will definitely stay here!
Thank you for seeing the Westby House Inn as a jewel. Many of our guests get the same feeling when they stay with us. Details are important to us as we want our guests to totally relax and enjoy every minute they are here.

As parents of 3 girls, get-aways are few and far between. This was JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ordered. Mike and Marie run a clean, comfy, friendly, quiet and extremely accommodating B & B. It is clear that they have a heart and passion for the work they do. My favorite part was reading about the history of the house and hearing stories from Marie. What an amazing hostess! Thanks Mike and Marie! We'll be back.
Appreciate the kind words. It is our pleasure that your stay was "just what the Doctor ordered". Taking the time to share your experience is helpful to future guests. Getaways are the big reason guests come to the Westby House Inn. Thank you again!

We stayed here this past July and had an excellent time. This was the second time I personally stayed and the B & B Girls first time. Everything was marvelous - Mike and Marie are outstanding hosts and the hospitality is unbelievable. We booked a B&B weekend again for July 2014. We love the history with the Inn and the rooms are so cozy and the woodwork of a historic Inn warms our hearts. Can't wait until July to visit again.

This was my second stay at the Westby House. This time I stayed in the Garden room. Everything was there that I could possibly want or need. Staying there is such a pleasure. The house and rooms are beautiful and everything is so clean and comfortable. Marie, one of the owners is one of the nicest most pleasant person you could meet. She's also a great cook and very knowledgable about the house and the area. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone visting the area.

The Scandia loft bedroom in the separate building was just right for two. The bed and choice of pillows were very good, and we slept well. The cozy sitting room was fine for reading in the evening. We appreciated the simple continental breakfast that we could eat anytime as we prepared for the day. The owner alsomgave us good ideas for dining out in the surrounding towns.
The Scandia Room in the Guest Lodge "is" that retreat when wanting coziness and a "Just Right" kind of getaway. Happy to accommodate your needs and desires.

We weren't able to take advantage of all the amenities this home had to offer. Movies, games, sitting areas, and attention to detail were evident. The breakfast was first class and the home beautiful. Marie and Mike were available and ready to address any needs we had.
Sounds like a return visit is in the future! Many of our returning guests come back because of all there is offered at the inn. Being your concierge is just one of them!

We picked Westby Inn based on the ratings at TripAdvisor and few other recommendations from other websites. This is the first time we travelled to this part of wisconsin. We were happy that we selected this B&B. Both Marie and Mike took great care of us and made us feel very comfortable. Marie also guided us to nearby scenic points and state parks near by. This really helped us in the rest of the trip going forward. Breakfast was served in the dining room set with individual tables. We enjoyed the full-course breakfast and felt as home. The Inn was beautifully decorated and I loved the Tower suite room. I will definitely return to the Westby House Inn on future travels.
Quick getaways can be just what the body and soul deserve sometimes!!! This area is perfect for just that with the hills and valleys, outdoor recreation like biking, hiking and canoeing adding to a great getaway. So appreeciate the kind comments from our guests.

I have been staying at the Westby House several times per year for more than a few years now. Marie and Mike take great care of me during my stay and are very accommodating of my somewhat unusual schedule. Breakfasts are excellent, and the facility is perfect for my visits to the Westby area. I intend to spend several weekends there annually for as long as I am able.
Many First-time Guests do become Repeat Guests at Westby House. We strive to accommodate each guests needs and desires, even schedules. Some stay frequently some maybe not for another 4 years, but every stay is a priority to us! To our Repeat Visitor- We are looking forward to those annual weekends stays!!

We picked Westby Inn as we traveled home because of its location and positive reviews. We were not disappointed. Our Friday night stay was quiet even though the local football stadium a couple of blocks away had a game. Marie and Mike do a great job hosting and the large home, a classic mansion, was clean and inviting. Breakfast was served in the dining room set with individual tables so you could choose the amount of interaction with the other guests. Westby is a Norwegian town with Ole and Lena’s Restaurant and two large Norwegian oriented gift shops a block from the inn. My wife found the home to be the nicest of all that we have visited over the years.
Offering the right levels of History, Comfort, and Hospitality has been our motto for the past 16 years of running the inn. We are pleased to read that we delivered that here once again! Thank you for the 5 star review folks.

The owners of this B & B have thought of everything to make your stay relaxing, enjoyable and wanting to come back. The room we had was everything we needed and more from the sitting areas, the cookies and coffee down the hall from our room for the evening and morning wake up. The breakfast was a gourmet delight. The B & B incorporates using local food products in the area to help the community. It is worth the trip and experience this lovely B&B with wonderful host & hostess. Jeanine W New Lenox,IL 9/8/2013
Offering amenities that go beyond the typical hotel is something you will find at B&B's. We are always pushing the envelope on what can we provide for our guests. Be it morning coffee, wi-fi, bathrobes, wine glasses, or bath products from Sweden it's the little things that make your stay a pleasant one. Jeanine, thank you for the helping future guests make the right choice for accommodations at the inn!!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the Inn. We spent our wedding night there as well. We both remembered the fantastic breakfast and service at Westby House. We hoped we had not exagerated its greatness in our minds. We had not Marie's breakfast certainly elevated the most important meal of the day. So worth it.
It is heartwarming to us to know that staying at the Westby House gives guests memories to cherish. We never thought of that aspect 16 years ago when we became innkeepers. The pride of ownership surely prevailed at our stay at the Westby House Inn. Marie and Mike were most welcoming hosts showing interest in our stay, accomodating our requests for travel information and making sure we comfortable. A wonderful house, the hosts were responsive to all our needs, and went out of their way to even surprise us with a couple of extras. What seemed like an out of the way B&B in the middle of nowhere, couldn't have been better. We would go out of our way to stay there again.
Westby is small town full of Norwegian heritage. Though it may seem out in the middle of nowhere, you can be here in 4.5 hours from Chicago NW subs, 3 hours from Milwaukee area and 3.5 hours from the Twin Cities. Once here, minutes to La Crosse, Viroqua and quaint small towns in the hills and valleys. To our guests, we are glad you found us and look forward to seeing you on your next venture to the area!

I couldn't have picked a worse weekend to try to find a hotel in LaCross for my visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe! The Wisconsin State Track Meet was being held and there were no rooms available. ...Except at the Westby House Inn. Little did I realize how fortunate I really was. As I walked through the door of the Westby House Inn, I immediately felt at home with Marie's gracious welcome. The house brings you back in time with the Victorian design and Marie's impeccable decorating. I stayed in the Garden Room. It was small and cozy, and had all the amenities one could hope for including a cozy arm chair for reading and a very comfortable queen size bed. In addition were the adorable touches that made the Garden Room so special. Breakfast was gourmet and served with a personal touch and with attention to detail. I never felt so at home! I wish I could have stayed longer. Thank you, Marie and Mike. Joanne K.
We like it when La Crosse has no rooms because folks like Joanne get to really enjoy a pleasant getaway. We are only 19 miles from the Shrine. It was our pleasure to offer the history, comfort and hospitality to make one feel like at home. Thank you Joanne for sending guests to the Westby House because of your comments.

Absolutely no dust anywhere to be found in this spectacular B&B! We enjoyed all the character of it's history as well as some of the new elements like the whirlpool too! They even gave us a FREE upgrade because we were the only one's here during the week! So we got to experience two different types of rooms and love them both! Hospitality was great and the neighboring area was just like being in the rolling hills of norway! Loved it here and it was relatively inexpensive too!

The stay at Westby Houe Inn & Restaurant was a very enjoyable experience. It is so charming. We are looking forward to staying with you again when we plan a trip to that area; we will certainly let you know.
The Westby House Inn offers the right levels of history, comfort and hospitality, and charm like no other box hotel can offer. B&B's are a better way to stay! Your "exceptional" review is greatly appreciated.

My husband and I stayed at The Westby House and had a lovely time. Mike and Marie were attentive, gracious hosts. We stayed in the Garden Room and found it to be very comfortable and cozy. I appreciated little touches like toiletries and a hair dryer in the room. Breakfast was to die for! The scones and poppyseed pancakes were our favorites. I would definitely recommend The Wesby House and hope to come back soon!
Happy to accommodate your stay and offer our hospitality. Guests do love those Poppyseed Pancakes and even the Spiced Oranges that usually garnish them! Hope you can come back again. Thank you for the great comments.

I had to attend a conference in Lacrosse and every room in the area was taken; just before I reserved a room on Kayak for a terrible looking hotel in Onalaska, my colleague suggested that I look at Bed and Breakfasts. The Westby Inn is just a 30 min drive to Lacrosse and thankfully they had rooms available. The owner of the house was extremely accomondating and a fantastic cook!! The rooms were very comfortable, each with it's own bathroom, fireplace and wifi! I am so happy my colleague suggested B&Bs, I really enjoyed my stay! Great Supper Club down the road!!! Thank you!
We are a good location for an alternative to La Crosse. The short drive is very well worth just for the scenery. Folks on business can have all the amenities and needs that you will find at hotels. To our guest,we appreciate the wonderful comments and hope your work brings you back to the area.

Classy, elegant and comfortable. Hosts Marie and Mike clearly understand the importance of customer service and attention to detail as every aspect of our stay was excellent. We stayed in the Tower Room suite and didn't want to leave. The breakfast was fabulous and we loved the fact that we had a private table for dining. We relished not having to share a table and make polite conversation early in the morning with strangers. This is an outstanding B&B. We highly recommend staying here.
Offering History, Comfort, and Hospitality is our signature goal for each and every guest. Personalizing every detail and request possible. When a guest has an outstanding experience we then know we did our best of hosting their stay. Thank you guest for recommending us to future B&B folks!

It was a nice relaxing get away. Charming small town with unique shops. The Victorianne Suite was romantic with the fire place flickering, soothing bubble bath, and wine made for a perfect night. Cant wait to return to the Westby House Inn.
If you are in need of relaxation, then the Victorianne or Atrium Rooms in the Guest House are perfect! I'd say these guests chose the right room for there getaway. Thank you for the "Elegant" comments.

We stayed in the Tower room, which was a two room suite. Because this was a winter get away we spent a considerable amount of time in the rooms reading etc. The rooms were very sunny and conducive to lingering. They were nicely decorated and spacious. Breakfast was excellent both mornings we ate there. We enjoyed driving through the countryside observing the Amish countryside. Westby is close to Lacross (26 miles) which provided another city to explore. All in all we had a wonderful three day stay and would recommend the Westby House to anyone.
Thanks for sharing your weekend experience at the Inn. It assures future guests that they will experience the same!

Although ny stay was short, I enjoyed the Westby Inn. The room was very comfortable, charming, and the hosts took great care of me.
We hope your short stay will grant a longer one on your next trip to our area. Thank you for the 5- star review!

Mike and Marie are gracious hosts of this marvelous victorian home away from home. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The rooms are clean and well equipped. The food is wonderful. Situated inside a farming community, peace and quiet are abundant while not too far away from activities and sights of neighboring towns and the Mississippi River.
Once you visit Southwest Wisconsin you will see why so many call this 'God's Country'! It is like the old saying - "nothing is Normal around here!" Take a tour on the www.DriftlessWisconsin.com site for an adventure you are sure to enjoy. Thanks for the great review, and happy you toured the area and hope it deserves a repeat visit.

We have stayed at the Westby House numerous times - initially while visiting our son at UWL, then while "just passing through", and in the future just because. Marie and Mike have always made us feel like we are home-away-from-home and always welcome. Marie is a genius in the kitchen with a constant variety of delicious breakfasts featuring fruits, pastries, and a hearty main dish - almost always including cheese or whipped cream from the local dairy. Mike and Marie have recommendations for things to do or see in the area, and they haven't failed us yet. The Westby House is on our list of best places to stay anytime we're in the La Crosse area for whatever reason and in any season.
'Frequent Guests' assures us that we are meeting the desires and wants of B&B guests. Staying for any reason in any season makes the inn a prime location. Thank you "Frequent Guests" for the wonderful review and kind words of why others need to stay with us!

I visited the Westby House Inn for the first time with a group of friends for a retreat. It was a wonderful weekend of laughs, great food, fun times, and deep discussion. Thank you to the hostess/owners of this fine establishment!
We try our best to meet Dietary needs as a person's health is just as important to us as the history, comfort and hospitality we offer. Look forward to seeing you again and thanks for the review.

The Westby B&B is the unique blending of a tastefully decorated grand historic home, lovingly restored and maintained, with the comforting kindness of hosts who treat you like family and nourish you with delectable meals. It's a must-stay whether you happen to be in the beautiful southwest Wisconsin region, or make it a destination.
Westby area and this Southwest part of Wisconsin is a great destination trip. Staying at the Inn will put you in the center of it all. As we promote, History, Comfort and Hospitality here at the Inn we make every effort to deliver just that. Add the Westby House to your Top 5 B&B's!

This was a first time visit for my husband and I, and we were VERY impressed. We stayed in the Rose Room, and it was perfect for us. (Always love to see real glass wine glasses!!) The breakfast was gourmet and delectable! :-) We liked the choice of time to eat and what to eat, besides the possibility of coffee BEFORE breakfast. Nice to see lovely white table cloths and sparkling glasses/dinnerware on each table. My husband, who is more quiet and reserved than I, also appreciated the opportunity to eat more privately than at a long table with many strangers. Mike and Marie were excellent hosts, very personable, welcoming, and accommodating. :-) I also enjoyed the gift shop, with several quality items, some locally made. We will definitely be back and will tell our friends of this great value and location! Thanks, Mike and Marie, for all you've done to make this a special bed and breakfast! A side note: I had just returned the night before from a 10-day New England trip, where I stayed in three different B 'n B's, and yours, was THE best! :-)
To be rated alongside 3 New England B&B's sure does make us proud! Thank you to our guest for taking the time to pen this review. We sure did hit every detail you were needing or not expecting. To our potential guests, you will have the same experience when you stay with us too!!

The Westby House is great. We traveled to Viroqua for dinner and found a wonderful restaurant serving locally grown food that was also wonderful. Everything about this B&B was fine. The room met our expectations which is a positive. The town itself does not offer much in the way of entertainment.
Attention to room detail seems to be on many guests lists of why they enjoyed there time at the inn. The Viroqua restaurant mentioned is the Driftless Cafe and has been enjoyed by many guests. We dined there just this past Tuesday and we had a great culinary experience. We can make a reservation for you if you like. It is a one of few that concentrate on local foods. Westby is a small quaint town of just over 2000. Several local dinner venues will have local entertainment periodically. Appreciate the kind review.

Our stay in this comfortable B & B was the best ever. Great room, personalized check in, and as good a breakfast as we have ever had. My wife had just discovered that she was glucose intolerant. We were served 2 different breakfasts to facilitate that. Wonderful experience!!!
Offering History, Comfort, and Hospitality is our signature goal for each and every guest. Personalizing every detail and request possible. When a guest has a Wonderful Experience we then know we did our best of hosting their stay.

I stay at the Westby House two - three nights a week and until staying there, have never been a guest at a B&B. I always thought it would feel like I was intruding on someone's space. Mike and Marie are such gracious hosts! When I go to The Westby House, it's just like going home. I've had the pleasure of sleeping in The Rose Room as well as the Atrium. As I am not a coffee drinker, Marie always has a cold Mountain Dew in the fridge for me and the home made cookies and pastries are unbelievable! Top notch accomodations and service!!!

We enjoyed our stay in the Victorianne Suite, The Jacuzzi, the stars on the ceiling, the fluffy bed... all so nice! Especially appreciated the option of having a continental breakfast in our suite (and so delicious too!)
The Guest House rooms are wonderful for total relaxation. The Jacuzzi tub, gas fireplace, stars on the ceiling are just a few of the added bonuses. Book a either the Atrium or Victorianne for the experience.

It was relaxing and very enjoyable because of the friendly, helpful and knowledgeable people who answered our questions, and for the super breakfast. It was a grand way to celebrate our 50th wedding Anniversary.
Many Anniversaries and Birthdays are celebrated at the Westby House. Memories that only you can make we just provide the setting and the Inn!

The Westby House is a very welcoming destination, outstanding appointments through out the home and guest house. the hosts Marie and Mike go out of their way to see to your needs. Guys traveling alone will love the Guest House Rooms conversely the Ladies will lean towards the finery in the Westby House proper when selecting a room. Take it from me whose travels to Westby have spanned the better part of the last 25 years, the Westby House has everything else beat hands down. The Old Towne Inn Supper Club is the best place for a fine evening meal. Tell Marie and Mike and Suzie at the Supper Club GhostRider sent ya!
Thank you GhostRider for this 5 star review! It was our pleasure to host your stay. Hope there are many more years for you to join your friends in Westby.

Very clean room. Bath area a little small. Jacuzzi very roomy. Neighborhood very quiet. Continental breakfast in room was good. TV was small but there was a vcr/dvd player.
Weekends in the Driftless Area of Southwest Wisconsin have plenty of things to do which make it a nice getaway. If you stay in either Guest House room you have the option of continental breakfast delivered to the room or join us in the Main Historic House for the full breakfast.

This was a delightful part of our trip to SW Wisconsin. We loved the Westby House, admired Marie for all her skills as an innkeeper, and felt right at home, even though it was our first trip to the area and our first time staying at Westby House. We would definitely return again.
As our branding states; "Offering the right levels of History, Comfort, and Hospitality". We are pleased to have met them and grateful for your praises about your stay. We too hope you definitely return!

The Westby House is everything that we had hoped it would be. Walk through the doors and you step back 100 years in time to an elegant Victorian residence that has every modern convenience incorporated into it. New tile bathrooms, wi-fi and flat screen TVs are surrounded by Victorian lace curtains, wood fireplaces and grandmas wallpaper to create a sense of slipping back to the future. We happened to stay in the Tower Room and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and elegant getaway. You will not be disappointed.
It is our goal to meet guests expectations and pleased we did just that during your stay! Appreciate the 5-star review!

It is our first time at staying at a B&B and we could not be happier. The room is almost as good as the hospitality, service and food. If I would get 50 cents for eyery body I will tell about the Westby we could pay for the room for a month. Great Place!!!!!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Westby House Inn - in The Atrium in the Guest House, for 9 nights. We had a family reunion to attend during the week of July 4th and early in April decided we'd like to try the Westby House because we had heard great things about it. So we made reservations. The experience went far beyond our best expectations. Mike & Marie are the perfect host & hostess and made us feel welcome and "at home" every single day. We didn't want to leave! The Atrium has 3 rooms: the comfortable bedroom, cozy sitting room, and lovely bathroom. All rooms were spotlessly clean. Of course we arrived during one of the hottest heatwaves in Wisconsin( with temps during the day in the 3 digits!), but the air conditioner worked fantastic and we were also given a tower fan to help push the cool air around. We also had use of the fully equipped kitchen (also a part of The Atrium), for those days we just wanted to stay inside where it was cool, to have lunch. The breakfasts Marie prepared each morning in the main house, were top notch and delicious. We plan on staying at this fantastic B&B for our future trips to Westby!
Appreciate your time in penning this review for future guests to know they will make the right choice at staying with us. The Atrium is a perfect spot for extended stays like yours. Glad it worked for you! Thank you.

I was returning to my hometown of Westby, Wisconsin for a family reunion in early July. I stayed in the Tower Suite a the Westby House Inn for 4 nights, and I could not be happier with the accommodations. From the time I checked in, I felt pampered. The service was personalized, the suite was immaculate, and the food was beyond compare!! Truly an experience that exceeded all expectations. I will definitely stay at the Westby House Inn again!
Glad we provided a 'new home' experience in your 'hometown'! Meeting guests expectations is a high priority and glad we met them during your 4 night stay. Thanks for the wonderful review which will be helpful to others making a lodging choice.

Great accommodations. The Pine Room where we stayed was decorated with a great fly fishing theme. We immediately felt at home when we arrived. Great small town charm. Room was very clean and modern. The loft bedroom and spiral staircase added a special and unique touch to the room. The breakfast was excellent. We highly recommend this B & B and look forward to future visits.
The Pinewood Room is located in the Guest Lodge on the property. It is a great spot with lots of great features. It does book up in advance so plan ahead!

I had the Scandia room, which comes with its own private entrance in a building adjacent to the main house. That made coming and going on my own extremely easy. This is a place to go when you need a little time away. This was a first experience for us and I would stay in this B&B again. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent! We enjoyed relaxing on the porch and it is right in town so you can walk to the different stores. Thanks again.

It was our first visit, and it was a great suprise because Westby is such a small town. We were really lucky to get in due to a last minute business cancellation. The innkeeper was warm and friendly. We loved the little extras, movies, books, games, snacks and early morning coffee. A very satisfying breakfast, and a really nice gift shop.
Westby's Norwegian heritage does shine in this quaint town. The little extras and details are just another way to show our guests that they are top priority. Hope your first visit turns into many more happy returns.

We have stayed in this B&B before, so we knew what to expect. It seems, however, that every time we stay, something new is added--the little extras that make us feel as though the owners put a lot of thought and expense into making our stay more enjoyable. The rooms are always exceedingly clean and beautifully arranged. Our hostess is always trying new recipes and adding her own special touch to them. They enjoy using locally made products and let us know about them. On this last stay, we were attending a conference just outside Westby, so we were glad to have another excuse to stay there. We always feel so welcome and truly enjoy "Ole & Lena" who make us feel like family. We would rate this one our favorite B&B!
We are so happy to know that our efforts in making guests feel at home with new touches and amenities are noticed and appreciated. "Ole & Lena" really Thank You for the kind review. Mange Takk!!

I've been coming to the Westby House for over 10 years, and it never disappoints. There is an eclectic mix of rooms and accommodations - something for everyone, including the fisherman like me. Mike and Marie are excellent hosts, and the meals (not available all the time) are outstanding; not overdone, but elegant and tasty.
Repeat guests are very important to our hospitality marketing plan. A 10-year guest says allot about the Inn. We hope you will come to experience it and become one of our many repeat, long-standing guests. And, to our fisherman, it is always a pleasure to provide the right overnight habitat you so deserve! Thanks for assuring fellow guests that they had made the right choice when coming to this wonderful area.

My future wife and I stayed at The Westby House for the second time this past weekend, March 24 and 25. As always, Mike and Marie could not have been more cordial and welcoming. Our room was cozy and spotless, and as important, quiet. We have stayed at several B&Bs the past few years and none can compare with the wonderful breakfasts served by Marie. Marie enjoys developing new dishes and her guests get to enjoy the results. If you have not stayed at The Westby House, do yourself a favor, book a room, and enjoy their fine hospitality.
It was our pleasure to offer you the right levels of comfort and hospitality. A priority of ours to make every stay as good as your first stay. We want you to experience something new, different each and every time you stay at the Westby House. We hope you can stay again. We would love for you to pen a review titled "Our Third Stay"!

What a great place to stay! An atmosphere of warmth and coziness that traditional hotels simply can't match. The owner was willing to provide advice as to favorite spots and sites in the area. Unique and personalized travel experience. Historic and decorated very uniquely. Very nice breakfast. Marie was so very nice and helpful. We lost are cell phone and with her help it was found. We stayed in the Pine Room which is located in an adjacent building. It was quiet and comfortable. We liked the in room breakfast that was supplied. It allowed us to have breakfast and start our day at our own pace. Good value.
The Pinewood Room and Scandia Room are both nice places for all the reasons listed in the review. Glad you had the chance to stay with us. Thanks for the review!

There is not a thing we would change about the Westby House nor our two stays there so far. The decore, friendiness, comfort, helpful interaction and directions were excellent, surely the top of the line.
We love return guests! To put us as "The Best Stay" is very rewarding to us. Thanks so much. See you on the next "Best Stay".

We had a lovely stay at the Westby House Inn. The room was larger than expected, very clean, and very comfortable. And great water pressure! The service was terrific and the breakfast was outstanding. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.
Thank you for the wonderful review. Appreciate the kind words and hope you can return!

Before the birth of our fourth son, we had the opportunity to get away for a night and enjoy some quiet time. The Westby House was the perfect place for us. It was our first experience of a B & B, and we happened to be surprised by a generous upgrade when we arrived. Very accomodating hosts, beautiful rooms and special touches, and a delicious breakfast that we didn't have to prepare! It was just what we needed. We hope to be able to return again someday, provided that we can get someone to watch all our little boys at home!
Happy that you got away at least one night before your new arrival at home! It was our pleasure to provide you the b&b experience you so deserve. Let us know when the little guy arrives! Thank you for the 5-star overall review.

We stayed in the Garden Room. Very lovely, although a bit overdone in the decor, but that is the Victorian way. Bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Mike & Marie were very nice hosts. I would stay there again if in the area.
Thank you for the review that will assure future guests of the same pleasant stay that you enjoyed!

Came up here to visit family and recover from a broken wrist. The room was extremely comfortable and peaceful, breakfasts were wonderful and felt so relaxed. Can't wait to return.
That is great that you could come and recover at the Westby House! Thank you for the 5 star rating. We look forward to your return.

We had a beautiful weekend stay at the Westby House complete with a.maz.ing gormet breakfasts, thoughtful room details, warm hospitality and even a picnic lunch that we ate while out on a lovely canoe trip on the Kickapoo River. We stayed in the Library Room but had the opportunity to peer into the open doors of the unoccupied rooms so we could really get a feel for the Inn in totality and not just our tiny corner of paradise. With comfortable drives to Amish country, the Vernon Hills Winery, and the canoe launches of Ontario, WI, the Westby House Inn is a fantastic getaway in any season. Fully recommended.
We are so glad to offer you the "Perfect Getaway". You took advantage of every adventure the area offers including the Picnic Lunch packed by Ole & Lena Kaffe Hus. Your review will make others what the same experience. Thank you for allowing us to part of your weekend getaway.

We stayed one night at this inn as a 'staycation' away from our kids. They have a good assortment of rooms with different rate options, from the basic to the ornate. The house was clean and warm. The breakfast was very nice; some unique menu items without getting too wierd. The owners were friendly and flexible in terms booking, payment and fielding questions about the local area. Overall, a well-run B&B.
Appreciate your points of why the Inn is an "all around good option"! We can accommodate various levels of needs and desires which makes us unique in our operation. Thank you the Overall rating.

For our wedding anniversary my husband and I had a weekend getaway planned and at the last minute we had to cancel our trip due to storm damage and power outage where we were to go. We then looked at country towns north and west of us and found Westby House Inn. We were pleasantly surprised at finding a room at a good price at the last minute. The hosts were wonderful, suite was a mini home from home, very quiet and overall a very pleasant stay. We will certainly go back there again.
Celebrating wedding anniversaries are the number one reason folks getaway. Happy you pursued Westby and find our inn to stay. The Guest Lodge rooms do give the feel of a mini home away from home. We will look forward to a return visit. Thank you for the review.

When Marie greets you at the front door and you walk in to Westby House you know you are somewhere special. You will be pampered your entire stay. The rooms are spotless. The king size bed we slept in was so comfortable, we didn't want to get out of it in the morning. Morning breakfast is something to get excited about. It is the most delicious food you will ever taste. I would highly recommend a weekend ay The Westby House.
We are so happy that your stay was special every step of the way. October is a special time of year at the inn with the fall colors and harvests. Thank you for penning this nice review for others to enjoy.

Wonderful property. Marie and Mike were very accommodating. Rooms were very nice. We had a group of three couples on a vintage car tour and security for the cars was excellent. Breakfast was wonderful but I could have had more! We will back next year.
Th inn does serve well for groups of 3-5 couples. All the rooms in the Main House are on the second floor for ease of visiting. which makes visiting an ease. Our well lit on-property parking lot does give the security guests look for. Vintage cars are always a treat at the inn since Mike is the car-nut of the house! Thank you for sharing your review and we lodk forward to you return.

This was only the 2nd time we've stayed at a B&B, and the experience will surely encourage us to not only return to this property, but to try B&Bs in other areas as well. Marie and Mike make you feel welcome, the room had great ammenities, and the meals were excellent.
This part of Wisconsin is the prime location to be a "leaf looker"! Better plan in advance to see there color next season. The inn stays booked up during the Harvest Time of year. Thank you for the nice review!

Traveling in Southwestern WI - Westby House is the place to stay. Beautifully decorated rooms with all required hospitality amenities and more. Innkeepers Mike and Marie are first class hosts with genuine care and concern for your comfort. Oh, and did I mention breakfast was DELICIOUS!
Southwest Wisconsin is the perfect backdrop to the Westby House Inn. Taking care of guests is just part of our hospitality! Appreciate the kind review that will help future guests know they made the right choice of staying at the inn.

We had a very, very nice time during our stay at the Westby House Inn. The Inn and the separate guest house are both scrupulously clean and nicely decorated. The amenties include things no hotel would give you, or would charge you for dearly, including a full size coffee maker with REAL coffee, complimentary soda and water, and an in-room refrigerator and microwave. Although there are no upscale restaurants within walking distance, there's a lovely coffee house right next door, and the bar across the street serves excellent food (try the Rueben Pizza!) and drinks. The Westby Inn breakfast was delicious and just right. We definitely plan to return!
Our suites in the Guest House are a popular choice. With all those amenities and a two-person Jacuzzi it is no wonder it books up fast! Thank you for the nice review we appreciate it.

We just spent 2 nights at the Westby Inn and we could not be happier. The rooms were very clean and decorated beautifullly. It was nice to have coffee right outside your bedroom door before breakfast. Marie and Mike were very hospitable and helpful with recommendations of where to eat. My only minor complaint is that I would have liked a little more seating in the "living room" around the fireplace so we could enjoy the beauty of the first floor. I would recommend the Westby Inn to everyone. It is a great value. We also really enjoyed learning about the history of the house from Mike. Thank you
Thank you for the 5-star review. We strive to accommodate guests needs and appreciate the first floor incite.

Glad you found your "Gem" in staying at the Westby House Inn. Fly fishing is in our top 5 reasons for guests coming to the area. 200 miles of trout streams is "gem" in itself. If you do or would like to learn to fly fish, we are in the heart of the sport.

B&B was easy to find with easy parking. Marie was more than friendly and polite and showed us to our very nice, clean room. Our room was well appointed with a full kitchen, sitting room, front porch, big bathroom with whirlpool and a cozy bed with glow in the dark stars on the ceiling... very cool! breakfast was clearly home made and was superb. We are looking forward to going back when we get the chance.

The house was very nice and the breakfasts excellent! Loved the French toast with peaches. From the decor to the service, no detail ignored. Beautiful area of the state too.

We stayed in the Pinewood Loft...it was much bigger than the pictures make it out to be. The welcome when we first pulled in was so comforting after a 8 hour journey. Mike was all smiles and Marie went out of her way to give us a tour of the house as well as telling us where to go and where not to go. We have stayed in numerous hotels, motels, resorts and in many different countries...but we can honestly say that the service and the time spent at the Westby house far surpassed anything we have experienced. Plans for a return are already in the works! The bedding arrangement is very comforting. The pillows, sheets, mattress are all reminiscent of "home." The downstairs living area is spacious enough to lay out maps, clothes, bags, junk etc without seeming crowded. The kitchen area has everything a couple on the go can possibly use. The bathroom is perfect, clean and not intimidating like many hotel bathrooms. All in all, a trip to the Westby House is a trip to an ideal home, with two loving caring 'parents', clean rooms, ample space, wonderful food and an experience that makes you feel 'homesick' when you leave!
Thank you for the 5-star review! Happy to know we surpassed your expectations during your stay with us. Though it is not intentional to make our guests fell "homesick", it is our way to get you to come back "home"! Very much appreciate the wonderfully penned review.

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night this past week on our way from Chicago to Minneapolis. It was just great. The owners are wonderfully welcoming, and breakfast was top notch. The rooms are a little kitschy, which is pretty cool and adds to the charm of this beautiful property. When you find yourself in SW Wisconsin, be sure to give this place a look...you'll be glad you did.
Thanks for sharing your experience with future guests and assuring them on their choice. Your kind review is very much appreciated.

We have stayed at a few different bed & breakfasts around he state of Wisconsin, and Westby House is at the top of our list. The room was very well decorated, and had everything that you might need. The breakfast in the morning was one of the best parts of the day. We were anxious to see what different types of food Mike & Marie came up with. The 2 days we stayed there for our anniversary were excellent. Thanks for everything Mike & Marie, Adam & Karen
You are welcome! Anniversaries are the main reason guest fine their selves coming to the inn. It was our pleasure to meet your needs and desires that helped up the Westby House on the top of your list. Thanks for taking the time to write the review.

Mike & Marie were wonderful hosts, Our experience began w/ an upgraded room, (so beautiful, I think I'm going to redecorate my bedroom) then for our Canoe trip on Saturday mike made us these wonderful sandwiches to go. We would definitely stay again. I was just surprised that the house was located right in town, but did not take away from the charmingness.
It was our pleasure to host your First Stay at a B&B! The inn's goal is to offer History, Comfort, and Hospitality and glad we meet those with your stay. Mike's deli sandwiches are a hit with guests heading out to canoe or bike. Those popular sandwiches can also be enjoyed at Ole & Lena Kaffe Hus located just two doors from the inn. Thanks for the review and your kindness.

We stayed in the rooms in little house just next door and they were well-kept and clean. But it was cold breakfast(cereal, muffins, juice and fruit) put in the room for the following day. Wish we could have had breakfast in the house with the other guests, but were told we could not.
As described on our web site, the breakfasts for the Pinewood Room and Scandia Room of the Guest Lodge are continental style, which results in the lower-end room rates. Though the rooms have mini-kitchenettes, they do not have stoves to prepare hot foods in them. By offering the continental for the Guest Lodge rooms and a traditional B&B type breakfast for Main House rooms, this allows you, the guest, to choose your breakfast preference. If you prefer a hot breakfast, be Sure to book a room in the Main House or Guest House. Our breakfast room is licensed for these accommodations only. Thank you for taking the time to share your stay with others.

We enjoy staying at the Westby Inn when we visit the Kickapoo Valley. We only stay for one night but would love to stay for a couple of days and enjoy the area more. Beautiful place to stay.
Just about every first-time guest can't wait to return to explore more of the area, like the Kickapoo Valley. This is a great area for canoeing, biking, and hiking. Visit DriftlessWisconsin.com for great information on exploring and things to do when you come.

Westby House and Marie were so great! I stayed in the Guest Cottage and was so pleased with the cozy, spotless, and well thought out design of the place. And I had Wi-Fi on the patio of the main house. And Marie helped with every question or request. I hope to bring my husband back with me next time.
The Guest Cottage rooms - Pinewood and Scandia, were designed for those looking for something different then the traditional B&B room. The cabin feel interior, loft bedroom and mini-kitchen with a stocked continental breakfast are the charm to these rooms. Thanks for the kind review that I know will help future guests.

We enjoyed a two night stay at Westby House. Lovely room, beautiful inn, gracious hospitality, many amenities. Marie is a culinary artist so you will experience an exceptional breakfast in both presentation and taste. While the inn is located "in town" the surrounding area is charming and a wonderful environment if you like to wander and explore quaint towns, little shops, and beautiful countryside. Don't miss the overlook point at Wildcat Mountain Sate Park nearby. Ontario.
With all the things to do and see in the area a two-night stay is warranted. Sounds like these guests enjoyed every aspect of the area. Hope to see you soon!

Traveling during the week does have a bonus now and then. Less cars on the highway, less crowds at shops, no lines at dinner spots and a chance to have a Victorian Home to yourself!

Our stay at The Westby House was perfect in every way. Luxurious lodging, total privacy, perfect service, gourmet food, and every tip about day outings was spot-on. There are so many activities in the area; antiques, Amish shopping, canoeing, hiking, and horse trail rides. I'm recommending to everyone I know and planning to go back in the future.

We were in the Westby area for a Swedish tour and decided to enchance our visit by staying at the Westby House Inn. This was our first stay there and it exceeded our expectations in many repects. Wonderful Victorian home furnished with antiques, collectibles, and historic photographs of the original owner's family and friends. Mike and Marie are exceptionally friendly and helpful, giving advice on restaurants and local attractions. Our bed was especially comfortable. We had a great weekend, and would like to return. Only caveat: restaurants in Westby close very early, even on Saturdays.
It was our pleasure to have you as guests. Though Westby is a small rural town, the area attractions are big, as in endless not size. this part of the Driftless Area allows you to canoe, bike, hike, antique, dine, shop, road touring, shop Amish goods, farmer's markets, and local artists to list a few. Of course, there is also just "doing nothing". Thank you for the review.

We were in La Crosse, WI for a family wedding and wanted to stay at a local B&B. Westby is a quick & easy drive to La Crosse, and is a fun little town with great shops and restaurants. As a finicky traveler, the Westby House Inn exceeded my expectations with its comfortable rooms, decor, cleanliness, beautiful landscaping and dining. Mike & Marie were the perfect friendly hosts, going out of their way to accommodate our schedules and particular needs. I am looking forward to my next visit to Westby and the Westby House Inn.

Having grown up in Westby, my husband often said we should stay at the Westby House when we make our many trips back home for family gatherings. We are both happy to say that while it took a long time for that first stay, it was worth waiting for. EVERYTHING was perfect. The Innkeepers Mike & Marie made every effort to ensure we had a memorable experience and we did! Love, Love, Loved the breakfast. Thank you again for a great time!
Sounds like waiting for that first-time stay made it all that more special! You are proof that "Things are worth waiting for"!!! We just stayed with Mike and Marie at the Westby House Inn in Westby, WI, and found it warm, welcoming, and an excellent value. The hosts provide lots of thoughtful touches and think of all the details to make your stay pleasurable. The food at breakfast was really great, too. If you are looking for a place within striking distance of Prairie du Chien, this B&B is definitely worth the short and scenic drive to Westby, and beats Prairie du Chien B&B rates by a long shot. We will definitely tell others!
Thank you for your "Altogether Marvelous" review of your stay! Providing the details and thoughtful touches is just one of the many ways we feel will assure our guests a wonderful experience. Thanks for the referrals and hope you can return as well.

A warm welcome from Marie told us we had once again chosen the correct B & B. to visit. The charm and decor throughout the Westby House brings back wonderful memories we enjoyed growing up as we visited our grandmother's homes. The Rose Room gave us a relaxing, calm and quiet evening. Breakfast was especially delectable and very hearty and also more enjoyable as Marie visited with us as though we were "good friends".
Satisfied guests is our number one priority. We are very happy to accommodate your stay and make it everything you were looking and hoping for. We appreciate the kind review that we know future guests will appreciate too. Until next time "good friends"!

This was the first time my husband and I have stayed at the Westby House Inn. We were very happy with our stay. We enjoyed the remote location and quietness of the house and town. We spent much time visiting the Westby House website prior to making our reservation and found it (the website) very accurate, informative and current! The rooms were just as we expected them. Marie was most helpful. Upon our arrival, we inquired about dining out for dinner and she not only gave us suggestions but offered to call and make reservations for us. The house was impecably clean and the food MOST delicious! I would highly recommend this B&B! We enjoyed being able to sit at our own private table for breakfast as in the past when visiting a couple of other B&Bs, the dining area had 1 large table for all to sit at and we felt that it wasn't a very comfortable situation.
We have always felt that our web site needs to reflect the saying "what you see is what you get". Thank you for the kind comments on the site and your stay. Your recommendation is very much appreciated and will be helpful to others.Hope your next trip brings you back to explore more of Southwest Wisconsin. See you soon!

I treated my companion to weekend at The Westby House. It was part of her birthday celebration. As others have noted, Mike and Marie could not have been more welcoming and codial. We stayed in the Tower Suite, a spacious, sunny, and absolutely spotless room. Of all the rooms we viewed, the was our favorite. Our breakfast the first morning was fantastic. My significant other is a wonderful cook and she raved about our tasty breakfast. Breakfast the morning of our second day was even better. Marie is truly a wonderful cook and hostess. The Westby House is a great base to use when one wishes to explore both the Mississippi and Kickapoo Valleys, some of the finest scenery in Wisconsin. If you are not familiar with the area, Mike and Marie can answer all your questions. After our stay, we both highly recommend The Westby House
Celebrating Birthdays and Anniversaries are the top two reasons why guests come to the Inn. We are very happy you had a wonderful stay. Appreciate the kind comments which future guests will appreciate as well. You are so correct on that some of Wisconsin's finest scenery is right here! My husband and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary at The Westby House. We stayed in the Victorianne Suite, which was perfect for a romantic getaway. It had everything we needed and more, and it was the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. Marie was friendly and welcoming at check-in, and her breakfast was delicious the next morning. We were able to take a tour of the open rooms and agreed that we would love to return every year and try a different room. They were all beautiful, spacious and clean. A great place to stay!
We are proud to provide a romantic getaway for you. Anniversary's are a wonderful time to take a getaway to the Inn. The Guest House suites on the property are ideal for anniversary or birthday celebrations. We look forward to your return stay and thank you for your kind review for others to enjoy.

We have been visiting in the Westby area for many years, traveling from quite a distance. Because we usually stay in the area for 5-6 days, we wanted something different, more of an 'at home' atmosphere. We were not disappointed! Mike and Marie treated us like family from the moment we arrived until we left. Our room was most comfortable. The breakfasts were awesome each morning! In the future, this will definitely be our 'home away from home.'
The Westby House is a nice lodging alternative for extended stays. We are so pleased you enjoyed your new "home away from home" experience with us! Look forward to your nest visit.

Marie met us at the door and was the epitome of welcoming. The room was fantastic. We were in a smaller room but it was still plenty large with a couch, very large closet and large comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent and the dining room lovely. The house itself is HUGE and in beautiful shape.
Glad the Inn was a warm, welcoming and very affordable experience. Meeting guests expectations is always at the top of our hospitality list. Thank you for the cherished review.

This is my third stay at the Westby House Inn, and what a delight! Marie and Mike are such warm and friendly hosts who always treat you like family! Their home is absolutely beautiful, filled with antiques and family treasures. Each of their comfortable, homey rooms is tastefully decorated in a theme paying great attention to detail. The breakfast each morning is delicious! Always made from scratch, expertly prepared and beautifully presented! In short, I can't say enough about Mike and Marie's Westby House Inn! This is undoubtedly one of the best bed and breakfasts in the country! --- Cari from West Bend, WI
Cari, We so appreciate you sharing your visit to Westby with our future guests. Your kind words and praises of the Inn are heartwarming. Hope to see you in the near future.

Recommended by friends, we really enjoyed our first-time one overnight at the Westby House Inn. We rehearsed in the front room right after check-in for a gig in Veroqua. Returned late and came back for wine and warmth, good nights sleep, exceptional Breakfast.
Oh, we can still hear the wonderful music and singing voice coming from that room! It was like our very own private concert. Our friend/family recommendation rate is very high and thank you to your friends for it. We hope you will tell your other friends as well!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Westby House. It was the perfect place for us to be and offered us the reclusive setting in which to reconnect while my husband was home on leave from his deployment. Mike and Marie did not overlook the details when it came to preparing the suite that we had reserved. Nor did Marie hold back in preparing a delicious gourmet breakfast for just my husband and me.
Happy to have set the stage for you two! It delights us to know we met your expectations of the Westby House. We will look forward to perhaps a return stay once your husband returns home. Thanks you for taking the time to pen the review.

We love the Westby House and have turned it into an annual get-away weekend! Mike and Marie have thought of every detail for the rooms. Nothing that you may need will be overlooked. They are also familiar with local activities and dining and always have great suggestions for day trips or dinners out. We love the guest house with the whirlpool tubs, but have heard the rooms in the main house are beautiful too. Would recommend the Westby House to anyone looking for a great B&B. PS - Breakfasts are delicious, often with items from the local creamery!
Annual weekends just make the rest of the year go by much easier! It is our pleasure to provide the right amenities and details to our accommodations. Until next year.....

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience. The Inkeepers Maria and Mike made you feel like one of the family right from the start and I know we will always be friends across the miles. We are from New Hampshire and I flew up to be with my husband before he deployed. The Town of Westby was so gracious to us and we felt right at home. The food? Wow! The atmosphere, double Wow! the fellowship? Couldn't ask for better! If we are ever back in WI you can be sure we will go out of our way to stop by and say hi or even better stay there again!
Hello New Hampshire! Thank you for the review! We look forward to the friendship and hopefully a return stay. Our thoughts will be with you both; at home and on the other side of the world.

We stayed in the atrium suite and really enjoyed the environment. The room was nice and clean, with plenty of space. Marie was very welcoming and breakfast was delicious.

Our friends gave us a 40th Anniversary gift getaway to the Westby House. It was outstanding! We loved the Victorian home, with it's beautiful antiques & very comfortable 4 poster bed. The area is very scenic, and rich in Norwegian history. The breakfasts were truly remarkable, and fresh baked cookies were always available. Everyone was so friendly, with helpful suggestions on a wide variety of opportunities to spend our time. We can hardly wait to go back. Barb & Dave
Barb and Dave, Thank you for the review. It was our pleasure to help celebrate your 40th Anniversary. Hope you can celebrate more with us!

When I arrived, it was a Friday evening and just before 6:00 PM. My daughter would be joining me, but was running late and would not arrive until around 8:00 PM. I was greeted, made comfortable and enjoyed a wonderful chat while we waited for my daughter. Because there was construction on the road, my daughter was taking longer than she had anticipated, so they made up a cheese and fruit tray for when she arrived. I was also given directions and the name of a restaurant that would be open and still serving dinner. The weather was lovey for October and I went outside to sit on the veranda. How wonderful it was to hear the music and cheers from the high school game just a block away. This was my second experience with the Westby House and I can't thank them enough for their hospitality. If you are in the area, you must give them a visit, they even serve lunch during the week.
October is one of the best times to come to the Driftless Area of Southwest Wisconsin. Colorful hillsides and inviting fall nights on the wrap-around porch. Providing our level of hospitality is always a top goal of ours.

My best friend and I decided to do an overnight road trip, so we stayed at the Westby House Inn. It's nestled in a quaint American Norwegian village with lots of unique shops and restaraunts. We stayed in the "Victorian" suite, which was beautifully decorated, and had a gas fireplace and two person jacuzzi. Our hostess had our room warm and inviting for us with the fireplace lit and a few lights on when we came in. We had a nice tv with cable channels and video's to use, and Magazines to read. The bed was very comfy, and when we turned off the lights, the stars came out on the ceiling which was fun to look at. Our breakfast was very good, and Marie and Mike were very accomodating. My coffee cup was always full. They were friendly and welcoming. I would definitely go there again.
Thank you for the review. The Starscape Ceiling is the best part of staying in the Victorianne Suite! Finding the Big Dipper helps lull you to sleep. Glad we met your needs and expectations.

We stayed for one night in October on a weekend. We liked the service and found it to be cozy in the Scandiva Room. It had a rustic feel to it. The continental breakfast was good. The room was clean and was fair. We would definatley book a stay there again.
The Scandia Room is just that, Cozy! Happy you enjoyed your stay. The Guest Lodge rooms (Pinewood and Scandia) are available April through October and do offer a feel of rustic. The in-room continental breakfast gives you a great chance to sleep-in and enjoy when you want!

My husband surprised me with a 2-night stay at the Westby House for our 5 year wedding anniversary. This was the PERFECT destination. Not only is the house impeccable, but the rooms were large, clean, and VERY comfortable. So many little details! Marie and Mike are amazing hosts... so accommodating and helpful. And the breakfasts! Oh, the breakfasts! I felt like a queen. Marie's cooking is out of this world and the presentation was spot on. We enjoyed every second of our stay. We are telling everyone about it and will surely be back again very soon. Thank you Marie and Mike, for making our anniversary such a memorable one!
We are so happy for you two! We appreciate your confidence in our inn and telling others about your experience. Sounds like we captured your stay in four words - Marvelous. Romantic. Relaxing. Memorable. Look forward to your return! Happy Anniversary again.

Westby room was spacious and lovely. Hosts were wonderful and the breakfast tasty and filling. Guests are requested to give a time of arrival, and a time that we would get down to the dining room for breakfast the next day. Because we were on vacation and trying to relax, we felt a bit under pressure with those requirements. Beautiful house and we would return given the chance.
We hope you do have a chance to return, as we enjoy sharing this wonderful home. Thanks for taking the time to pen the review. FYI for future stays and guests: Check-in is between 4-7 p.m., later arrivals can be pre-arranged. Now, if you like to sleep-in, ask Marie if a breakfast credit can be given for lunch at our other eatery, Ole & Lena Kaffe Hus. We want our guests to relax, so if this fits your style....let us know.

We stayed in a different room from the ones we've stayed in so far. We've probably stayed at Westby House around seven times. The room this time was accommodating and beautiful as have been all of the others. Breakfast is always elegant and delicious. Usually there's a new interesting taste included, so Marie is always developing the menu. Another thing that people don't always think about is the extent of the interaction between owners and patrons (we've stayed in many different B&B's). At Westby House, this exchange is always just right, helpful and friendly.
Thank you for this kind review. We really appreciate you sharing your many experiences with future guests of the Westby House. Breakfast is an important part of our guest's day and being creative adds to the enjoyment of sharing it with our guests. Westby House won 3rd place in the Wisconsin B&B Association Innkeepers Cook-off in 2009. Recipes on our web site.

We stayed one night and enjoyed the stay very much. We liked the separate entrance to what felt like our own cottage.
The separate entrance of the Guest Lodge rooms is just another level of an amenity we offer, which some folks like! Looking for privacy, then the Pinewood or Scandia Rooms will meet that desire. Thank you for sharing your "Own little private cottage" experience.

Every year my family picks a Wisconsin based Bed & Breakfast for a little retreat. Unfortunately, we were all very disappointed in our two night experience at the Westby. The beds were very uncomfortable, but far worse were the flat 3” pillows. We did ask for fluffy pillows the next day as we had a terrible time sleeping and we were directed to the extra pillows in our dresser. Well, the extra pillows were exactly the same! My parents had the same flat pillows in there room and no extras to be found. Small details like no tissues in the tissue box and no robes in the room the first night added to the disappointment. Breakfast the first morning was ok. It was a cornflake French toast with sausage. The coffee was hot the first cut but on cup two it was luke warm each morning. We requested to have a full breakfast again on day two but asked if we could have some scrambled eggs on the side. Well, we ended up getting scrambled eggs, two orders brown and rubbery, with toast that was overdone and a small piece of thin ham that was also over cooked and dry. As far as the house goes, it was a very pretty Victorian and everything seemed clean and organized. One thing that was missing was a common area inside the home to visit or sit besides your room. They used all the space on the main level for their restaurant. As far as our hosts were concerned they were rarely around and the only time we saw Marie was when she made breakfast. Mike seemed friendly but we only saw him once upon check in. Marie was not very friendly and when we left and gave her a check for payment she didn’t even say thank you or hope you enjoyed your stay or anything. The reason we enjoy staying at Bed & Breakfasts is to visit with the owners and hear about the fun and interesting things in their town and maybe visit with other guests. We can’t understand the good reviews on Trip Advisor. Perhaps these people have not stayed in B&B’s previously or they want a more hotel feel.

2nd stay for us. Came back because they have a beautiful inn, very well maintained. We had no need to ask for anything because they already thought of everything. Very nice people.
Hoping a 3rd stay is in the plan someday!! Appreciate your kind review. It warms our heart to know we are providing what our guests desire.

We stayed in half of a guest house, with our own private entrance and loft bedroom. The opportunity for a Raindrop massage was offered and indulged in, in our "room" shortly after arrival, starting out our stay perfectly. Marie was accommodating to our food preferences. We were able to prepare simple meals in our kitchenette and received delicious muffins and scones for breakfast, to enjoy in the privacy and comfort of our room, during our 2-day stay. We enjoyed a trip to nearby Viroqua, with its Co-op Market and Deli, full of locally grown produce, bulk grains, and hard-to-find vegan selections, and many other wonderful products. We also made a trip out to Vernon Vineyards, where we tasted and purchased some wonderful wine.
Massages are always a great way to start off a getaway! Glad you did take advantage of that package. You are right on the privacy level, the Pinewood Room is perfect for that desire.

Our time spent at Westby House Inn was restorative for body and soul. Perfect 51st Wedding Anniversary retreat! The Victorian house beautifully detailed decor was charming plus. So much to take in visually, a real treat for the visual experience. The breakast experience was such a delight! Delicious and we dined in pampered elegance....Thanks so much for everything!

This was an incredible stay for the price! We didn't stay in the main house. Instead we stayed in the Westby Guest Lodge right next to the main house. It was like being in our own little cabin in the woods. We really enjoyed having a continental breakfast provided for us in our room. We were able to have breakfast privately and on our own schedule. The room was very well decorated and it smelled wonderfully of pine. Everything we could have needed was provided for us, including videos to watch. We loved our stay and would definitely come back if travel takes us back to the area.
Providing the diverse types of accommodations and at different price levels gives guests 9 choices of rooms/suites. Providing choices is part of our 'History, Comfort, and Hospitality' branding. Thanks for the great review and hope you can return.

Our children gave us a gift certificate to stay at Westby House. We chose to spend two nights in the Atrium Suite. The accommodations were beautiful, comfortable and designed with an eye for coziness and charm. We spent our day using the Elroy-Sparta bike trail, driving through the lovely countryside, canoing the Kickapoo River and relaxing in the suite's jacuzzi. Local dining was sparse because many places were closed on Monday but we discovered the Viroqua Food Coop has an excellent deli. For excellent dining try Kate's on State in LaCrosse--a scenic half hour drive away.
Sounds like your weekend was filled with exploring this beautiful part of the Driftless Area in Southwest Wisconsin, with the best part returning to the Atrium Suite for well deserved R&R. Glad we could provide the experience.

We won this weekend thru a Public Television Auction. And I am so very glad. Maire and Mike are wonderful hosts. The breakfast was delicious. Marie was more than helpful with questions and to make our stay perfect. Lovely house, safe quite community with some of the best bicycling available in the state of Wisconsin. We will be back.
Our participation in Public Television Auctions is very rewarding for the winner and for us! Providing a wonderful experience is a number 1 priority. We look for your return and provide the same level of hospitality.

we appreciated the period details, the charm of the rooms, and the amenities such as refrigerator, filtered water and coffee available for all guests in the inn. I do wish they used softer toilet paper (petty, I know), but I appreciated the good shower, nice towels and lotions in pump bottles. Also, breakfast was creative but much too sweet for my taste. Owners ask guests to let them know of allergies and special diets, but it did not occur to me to mention this issue. Perhaps there could be a choice of 2 entrees. Otherwise, a very lovely place to which we will return.
We will look forward to your return and will jump through hoops to assure a better experience as it seems we missed a few on your last visit. Just be sure to tell us you don't like sweet things! We will work on the "TP" issue for you too.

We decided to stay at the Westby because we just happen to like B&B's. It is so clean and the accommodations were very nice. It was also extremely quiet. We arrived at 5 pm and were in the mood for some ice cream. Usually the ice cream parlor closes at that time but the B&B owner called them up so we could get our ice cream and they stayed open just for us. What great service! You don't get that in the city. The mattress was great. They had movies we could watch in the room for free and the breakfast provide for us was so good. we are going back in 5 wks. We are actually going out of our way because it is such a great value. Try it out!
Thanks for this great review! There are times that Ice Cream is an important part of one's day - glad to assist!! Look forward to your stay in the Fall. It will be breathtaking.

Marie and Mike were excellent hosts and my wife and I had a wonderful time staying in Westby at the Westby House Inn. This was our first B&B experience so we weren't exactly sure what to expect. But the rooms were very private (each with their own bathroom) and well appointed. The extra little touches are what makes this place. The use of a refrigerator at the end of the main floor was nice for storage, plus coffee in the morning, and pomegranate iced tea all day long. Breakfast was incredible! Interesting dishes plus great pastries, fruit, juice and coffee. Plus it was close to lots of recreational amenities and there are a few things to do right in Westby, which is a nice little town as well. I would definitely stay here again!
Thank you for this wonderful review and mentioning the little extra amenities we provide. As the world turns, it's always the little extras that we appreciate the most and glad we provided them during your stay. For a close-up look at the many recreational amenities offered in our area visit www.DrfitlessWisconsin.com web site. Look forward to your return!

We love Westby House and staying in the Pinewood room was perfect for our trout fishing trip to the area. It has a lovely tour fishing theme and is so comfortable. We like to fish in the evening and leave early to fish in the morning. We were able to do this and not disturb other guests since the room is in a separate building with its own entrance. Enjoying the breakfast of scones, cereal, fruit and yogurt at our leisure also works well with our schedule. The room was quite for being street side. We will stay here again on our next overnight trip to the area.
Guests like yourself are the reason the Guest Lodge was built. Every aspect of your stay that you mentioned were on our checklist of why we must build. As the saying goes- "You build it, they will come"! Thanks again and look forward to another stay with us.

Very pleasant - I am definitely thinking of ways to get back and spend more time....1 night was not enough.
That is what we hear from many of our guests, "that One Night is not enough". With this being the Driftless Area of Wisconsin, the maze of valleys and ridges can keep you on the go for many days. Glad your stay was pleasant and we look forward to your next stay.

What a relaxing, comfortable spot Mike and Marie have created in small-town, rural Wisconsin! The Tower room was a spacious, well-lit, lovely room. The fireplace and sitting area was an extra plus. Marie's scrumptious breakfast started our day of antique hunting and pleasant car driving through Amish country. Beautiful area... We will definitely return!
Isn't it great that small-town, rural Wisconsin still exists! Sounds like you spent time exploring it too. Returning to the Tower Suite after a day in the country is the perfect way to end and adventure. Hope you will turn as another scrumptious breakfast awaits. Thank you for taking time to say a few words about your stay.

This was our 2nd stay at Westby House and we found all aspects to be outstanding. We stayed in the Westby Suite and will request it again on our next visit. Marie and Mike are both gracious and friendly. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
Dean and Carol, We so enjoyed your stay with us. We agree, the Westby Suite is a great room. Just be sure to book far enough in advance as it is a popular suite for our return guests. Thank you for the kind review, and taking the time to do so.

We were welcomed to enjoy the house and gardens and felt at home. We had everything we needed and all was as advertised.
Thank you for the review. Our housekeeping staff appreciates the fact that someone "does" notice what they do.

We stayed at the Westby House July 11-13, 2010 in the Tower Suite. It is fabulous!! Very well cared for, extremely clean and comfortable. It was so nice to have the extra living room area that closes off from the bedroom. I was surprised at how great the hot water pressure is for an older home - we had great showers! The food is delicious and Marie was always right there to serve more coffee, etc. Marie and Mike have thought of everything! We spent most of our time on the front porch just relaxing, and can't wait to go back and do it all again!
The Tower Suite is the best room in the inn for stays of 2 or more days. The spacious two-room suite offers so much more than you think you may need, but find it to be just right. Glad you enjoyed yourselves - from the suite to the porch!

We came to the Westby Inn for our honeymoon and it was perfect. Would come back and recommend this B&B to friends!
Sounds like the Westby House started your new married life off just like you wanted - Perfect. Hope you can return to celebrate the anniversaries too!

We had a great anniversary night at the Westby House. Everything was very nice, and very well done. We were happy with it! We'd stay again!
We are happy to provide a place for a Great Anniversary celebration. Best to you and hope you can and will come again to celebrate many more.

This B&B was fabulous - from the food to the outstanding owners who provide excellent service.
Thank you for the kind review. Hope you can return to enjoy it all over again!

The Westby House Inn delivered what I hope for in a B&B. Privacy, quiet, plush setting and full unique breakfast . Other nice touches were cold lemonade available in the afternoon, and early morning coffee and treats close to the room. Hostess was friendly without being intrusive.
We appreciate the kind review. Meeting your hopeful expectations assures us that our mission does continue to offer "the right levels of history, comfort, and hospitality". Thank you.

We needed to find a place to stay during a "work" weekend for us. We are florists and were doing a large wedding in LaCrosse, WI. We could not believe our fortunate luck in locating the Westby House Inn for the few hours we did have to relax and sleep! An absolutely beautiful place and wonderful breakfast right in our room. We will be sharing brochures in our area and WE WILL be returning for a "fun" weekend sometime soon!

We just finished a 2 night stay here, and I couldn't be happier with our experience. The pictures on their website are indeed just how the property appears. Extremely clean and well run extablishment. Breakfast was outstanding. No prepackaged muffins and Cheerios here. Freshly made scones, fruit medly, and eggs benedict one morning, followed by freshly made muffins, more fresh fruit and a wonderfull croissant variation of french toast the next day. Delicious to say the least. If you're looking for a place for a group of guys to hang out in and get rowdy, this isn't for you. If you're looking for a more refined yet very comfortable place to stay, check this place out. We're going back to the area in the fall, and we will definitely stay here again.
We love Happy Guests! Hospitality is planning and meeting guests expectations. Glad we did. Thank you for the wonderful review and we will look forward your stay this fall.

We were greeted warmly and our room and meals were the best. We enjoyed the lovely garden in the evening and hope we can stay there again.
Happy to have met your expectations. Staying at a B&B does give you more than a room, outdoor green space is a great bonus! Thank you for the review and we look forward to your next stay.

We wanted a weekend getaway in a different part of the state, and the Westby House was a good pick. The house is pleasant and inviting, with great hospitality by the hosts. Room was cosy and breakfast was interesting and delicious.
Southwest Wisconsin does make a great weekend getaway! Known as the "Driftless Area", the glaciers did not pass over this land 12,000 years ago. Meeting your desires was our pleasure. Thank you for the review.

I'm not a typical B and B person, but I was lucky enough to discover Westby House and it is now where I stay on my frequent fishing trip to the area. They provide a cold breakfast in the room so I can head to the stream on my schedule. The room is great and comfortable and Marie and Mike are wonderful hosts. Having their cafe, Ole and Lena's, next door make is a nice extra and a great place for lunch. Whether the fishing is good or not, Westby House always makes my trip enjoyable.
It is our pleasure to make your trips to Southwest Wisconsin's prime fishing area feel like home. Glad your "luck" turned to the Westby House and on the streams!

We enjoyed our stay very much; pleasant atmosphere and tastefully decorated, quiet rooms. Excellent breakfast and hospitality.
We appreciate the review on your stay. It is our goal to meet or exceed the desires of our guests. The Inn was presented the 'Best in the Midwest' award from the folks at BedandBreakfast.com. The selection criteria for the Awards included both quantitative and qualitative analysis of the independently posted guest reviews on BedandBreakfast.com. Thank you for choosing the Westby House for your weekend getaway.

Plan: a wonderful, restful birthday weekend for my wife in a beautiful area of WI. Reality 1: wife runs into husband who stopped biking suddenly. Reality 2: 911 call, nice response from emergency services on isolated area of the 32 mile bike trail. Reality 3: Ambulance ride, 4 hours in ER, then dinner at McDonalds instead of the fancy place. Reality 4: Westby House Inn - a very nice B&B and exceptional friendly and hospitable innkeepers, Mike and Marie. THANKS.
It was our pleasure to be a reality for your plan! Hope the recovery is coming along fine, though it does require more attention from the husband! Great to have you as guests. Hope your next stay at the Westby House will be more of Reality 4 verses the others.

We loved our trip to western Wisconsin and one of the highlights was our stay in the Westby House Inn. Marie was so attentive and met every need. The rooms were darling, the food was incredible, and the atmosphere was the most charming we've ever seen. It was our first stay in a B&B and it will be a hard one to beat. Easy access to world class fly-fishing, too, which was my husband's thrill!
So happy that your room and the charming atmosphere met your expectations. Welcome to the B&B experience!!!

Mike & Marie do a great job. Loved driving thru Amish country.
This area of Southwest Wisconsin is the best part of Wisconsin. Known as the driftless area, the beauty of the hills and valleys where many Amish farms settled along with rivers, streams, and wildlife make this area worth the trip.

Glad we met your expectations and found respite in relaxing, reconnecting and everyday routine. Thank you for the review.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Westby House. Marie and her staff were friendly and accommodating. The suite was roomy and clean, and the facilities were first rate. We had an opportunity to enjoy the town as well, which was friendly and pleasant. We would definitely return for another visit.
We will look forward to your return! It is always comforting on the high percentage of Return Guests over the years. Thank you for the comments so that others can be assured of making the right lodging choice.

I surprised my husband with a Bed and Breakfast birthday - I chose the Westby House Inn because his birthday coincided with the Norwegian Celebration I had heard about and wanted to attend. The Westby House Inn was more than accomodating to my every wish. The room was warm, which is a number one requirement to me, a "freeze-baby". The gas fireplace heated the room in no time, and increased the "romanticness" of the Victorian Room. The huge hot tub was another treat for us. The breakfast was delicious, and the Inkeeper, Marie, prepared my husband's meal a special way, as he has a problem swallowing. She made no big deal about it, and served him at the same time she served me. My husband felt very comfortable as we enjoyed conversation with others enjoying their breakfast with us. I would definitely enjoy staying with Marie and Mike Cimino again at their lovely Westby House Inn. My husband said he will carry happy memories of his 68th birthday!!!Thank you. Marilyn Liesch
Marilyn, It was our pleasure to help in making happy memories of your husband's birthday! Meeting the needs of our guests is a priority of ours and hope it reflects in what we offer here at the inn. Thank you for the kind remarks. It is folks like you that assures us we are doing what we love.

Business travelers are always welcome at the Westby House Inn. Glad our inn is located close to your work for you to stay with us. Business amenities include free wireless internet, fax service, early breakfast, work stations in the room, and all the amenities of a non-business stay.

We loved our room, the only complaint that we have is that at a lot of the other B&B's that we have stayed at there is cookies or soda or some kind of treat for the guest upon arriving or during the stay.
Thank you for your comments. We take our reviews very serious and suggestions are always welcomed.

I was extremely pleased with my stay at the Westby House. The accomodations were very clean, comfortable and inviting. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone and will be back in the future myself. The afternoon tea was also very good. No detail was over looked. Excellent!!!!

I met two of my very good high school friends at the Westby House for a girls weekend because it's halfway between the Twin Cites and Milwaukee. It was lovely! We had our own suite with a kitchen. Marie served us tea in our suite complete with all sorts of sandwiches and goodies. We laughed and talked for about twelve hours straight. We were wisely put in the suite separate from the main house, so we didn't keep anyone up. In the morning we had the most wonderful breakfast I've had in a long time. There is not one thing I would change about the Westby house...and I'm picky about my B&B visits.
We can hear the laughter and excitement in your words that a wonderful time was had. The Atrium Suite is the perfect "girlfriends" getaway spot. Next time double the fun with a few more gals and reserve the other suite in the Guest House! We appreciate the kind words and rating.

As old high school friends living from Minneapolis to Madison to Milwaukee, we don't see each other often. Westby was a great mid-point and the kitchen table in the Atrium room kitchen at the Westby House was great for hours of reminiscing and catching up. Marie's wonderful tea and breakfast topped off a splendid weekend.
We are very pleased that the Atrium Suite gave you girls a chance to be "Girls" again! I believe that table has been the center of many discussions and laughs, and now Afternoon Teas can be added to the list. Hope you all will find it worth a return trip.

My husband surprised me with a visit to The Westby House Victorian Inn for my 60th birthday. It was a wonderful stay. From the minute we walked in the door we felt very welcome and immediately felt as if we had "come home". Marie and Mike are very hospitable and friendly. We stayed in the Tower Suite - absolutely beautiful. Our every need was taken care of with the nice touch to details. A CD player with CD's provided for romantic and calming background music; bathrobes and slippers; body lotions; and TV with many movies to choose from. In the morning there was delicious coffee available outside our room. My husband had requested the cheese and fruit plate along with the chocolates - very nice and very very good. As you can probably tell, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend it to others or to go back.
Some people love parades, we love helping with Surprises! Glad you had a memorable stay and Birthday at the Westby House. Thank you. Are you planning a surprise? Just let us know and we can have flowers, wine, awaiting in the room.

From the moment we arrived, Mike and Marie made us feel at home. We stayed in the guest house (separate from the main house) in the Atrium Suite. The pictures on the website don't do this b&b justice. They thought of EVERYTHING to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. From thoughtful ammenities to delicious food, you will be amazed that such a wonderful retreat is so closeby.
Meeting guests expectations and providing an atmosphere that meets those expectations is our goal. We proudly appreciate your kind words. Remember we are close by for a return retreat!

Our stay was excellent. Many small amenities including wake-up coffee, bath robes, books to read, and movies to watch. The home is beautifully decorated. We were pleasantly surprised to find that dinner was being served on Friday 2/13 when the website indicated that it was only going to be served on 2/14 for Valentine's Day. The dinner was superb as was the breakfast the following morning. Overall, a very pleasant stay.
Glad we surprised you with the Friday night dinner for Valentine's. For those looking into the future, the restaurant at the inn serves dinner only for Valentine's so plan now for next year! Thank you for taking the time to write the review.

From the registration on-line to check out, it was very smooth and pleasant. The rooms are clean and beautiful. The only change I would make would be to have a little less accessories on the table top/tv stand so there would be more room to place our things (cosmetics/personal care items) while staying there. The food is always really good and that is key to making this a great value. We also enjoy their coffee shop when we pass through town. The scones are awesome!
Thank you for sharing your review. We always look forward to guests helping us meet guests expectations. The overall rating is very much appreciated.

We stayed two days at the Westby House Victorian Inn, in the middle of January. We were the only guests, and Marie was a gracious hostess. She shared the news of the area, and her breakfast was absolutely wonderful. The room was charming and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying at the Westby B&B.
That's the hidden treasure to a January stay - The inn all to yourself! Appreciate your kind comments and recommendation to others.

Exceptional attention to detail throughout the entire facility. Fantastic breakfasts. One of the best B & B we've stayed at in 20+ years!
Thank you for the positive feedback on your stay. It will help our future guests in making the choice to stay at the Westby House. Glad we met your expectations.

We stayed in the Tower. Waht a beautiful Room. We loved having a sitting room to relax in. The snak we had the first night was so wonderful. Great selection of goodies! The breakfasts were out of this world. So elegantly done from the food to the service. It almost makes me want to cook after buying the Association Cook Books. I took a nap though and then that thought went away. We can't wait to stay there again.
Sounds like your getaway to the Westby House was a perfect start to the New Year! Appreciate your kind review and remarks. The Wisconsin B&B Association "just off the press" cookbook is wonderful. The recipes range from appetizers to main entrees to desserts and of course breakfast. Guest naps are part of the agenda at the inn, which why we do the cooking!!! Until your next stay...best to you both

2 couples whose adult children came and left by Christmas Day. What to do? Go to Mexico for a few days? Air travel is expensive and there are security issues right now. How about a winter get-away to the Westby House? Absolutely perfect and just what we needed. We relaxed in the charming side by side rooms, enjoyed our 2 scrumptious breakfasts and the hospitality of Mike and Marie. We snowshoed in the Kickapoo Reserve on a picture perfect winter day and then relaxed at an excellent Westby Supper Club for drinks and dinner. We headed back to the Inn to our cozy room where we all watched the Badger Bowl game on the new tv. Mornings were spent reading and drinking more coffee in the charming parlor, soaking up the winter sun streaming through the Victorian windows or strolling through Westby, enjoying the small town atmosphere and exploring wonderful shops. This was just what we needed!
Happy to read that the Westby House provided the Retreat you all were looking for and deserved. You made your stay the perfect post-Christmas getaway. Maybe it could become an annual event! Thank you for taking the time to pen the review.

My husband wanted to have alittle get away for just the two of us after I have put in mny hours of work on my home farm after the renters took advantage of my brother (house was such a mess and unliveable.) We worked many hours along with some relatives to clean it up. It was the first time for us to spend time alone at a Bed and Breakfast (Westby House Victorian Inn --- Westby Suite.) An old time fashion Christmas was enjoyed by the whole family in many years on the home farm. My mom, who is 91 years of age, got to enjoy and make more memories of times when we were small children and now the great-grand children too. She wanted to have Christmas on the farm because she does have some health problems and she said it could be her last Christmas. I am very glad I put in many hours to get things liveable again for the love of my family and especially for my mom. My husband said he wanted just him and me to have this get away. It was soooo-- very relaxing, with the gracious hosts and hostess for their special hospitality. The breakfast was very delicious!!!!! We sure recommend this place for anyone --- friendly, cleanliness, quiet, and to just relax.
Isn't Christmas a wonderful time of year! Time to make memories with the one's we love. Thank you for choosing the Westby House for your getaway. Enjoyed reading the review and your kind comments.

I used to play in this house 66 years ago and just had to check it out. It was wonderful, so beautiful. I would recommend checking it out at Christmas time, the decorations are spectacular. We had a delicious breakfast with the biggest blackberries I have ever seen. It was great.

Okay, so your wondering what kind of "Knitwits" stay here! Please let us clarify who they are. The "Knitwits" are a group of wonderful ladies who get together for fellowship and knit while visiting. And what a fun group of gals they were. The Westby House is perfect for girlfriend getaways. Best to book all five rooms in the Main House, then there are no worries of being to noisy...just laugh, laugh, and laugh! Thanks gals for a great weekend.

The Westby House property is unique in that is offers its 9 accommodations in three separate houses with each having its own style and feel. The Guest House offers whirlpool tubs and gas fireplaces, while the Guest Lodge experience is more of a cabin feel. The Main House is the Queen Anne style home built in the late 1890's and decorated to its period time. Larry & Patty, it was our pleasure to offer you a wonderful stay and we look forward to your return. Hopefully a room, or suite, will be open in the Main House.

We stayed in the Scandia room which is actually seperate from the main house. This was nice because we could come and go as we pleased. This unit was very nice and very clean and although we didn't have a chance to meet Marie, Mike was very helpful with providing dinner recommendations.
With the Scandia Room's private outdoor entrance, as well as the Pinewood Room, it is one of the most popular features of the Guest Lodge. Thank you for the review so that others can be assured of a clean comfortable room. Hope your dinner spot selection was wonderful as well!

Marie and Mike, Thank you guys so much for a wonderful stay and birthday trip! I can't wait to come back and visit soon. I miss your first class breakfast already. :) I really appreciated being able to stay an extra night, and your accomodations to make it so. After a full days' worth of adventures, it was so nice to come "home" to a hot bath, extroardinary glass of wine, delicious cheeses, fruits, and chocolates, and the most comfortable beds. It was a true pampering. Thank you so much!

The Westby House~ a Unique Retreat and now "A Great Escape"! The Pinewood Room in the Guest Lodge does have that Escape atmosphere. We stayed in the Library Room. Marie has redecorated it recently and we enjoyed it as much as we did when staying in this room before, which is very much indeed! The Westby House is very quiet and restful. It is very clean and comfortable. I also like that Marie has implemented so many little touches that lead to excellence and also to a very special ambience. Breakfast is always delicious with professional service. We are always happy to return to Westby House. As a final thought, Marie and Mike have been helpful and understanding with any special needs of ours.
A very gratifying thank you for this review. We make it a goal to meet our guests desires and needs and your comments assure us of that goal. We hear many guests say at departure "though it was a Short Getaway we will be back"! After 12 years of innkeeping, we proudly can say that our guest return rate on most weekends is 40% to 80%. We look forward to your return as well. Thank you for sharing your experience with fellow B&B guests.

We booked our room in Westby WI, outside of the LaCrosse city limits, as we wanted the feel of being "out in the Country" for the few short days over the wknd of Sept 25-27! Because we were attending the Oktoberfest Celebration in LaCrosse, having a "separate" access (at all hours) to our room, was important to us! Well that is what we got with the Scandia room! It was a separate bldg off to the side of the Main Victorian Inn...ample parking too! Our room was fantastic---our Bed was perched high in a loft area, with easy access using a spiral staircase, the kitchenette below-was well stocked each day with: coffee, cereal, milk, juice & fresh fruit! Our Bathroom was surprisingly large...there was a shower, a nice vanity/sink area, mirror, hair dryer and a table too. It even came complete with matching Robes! Even though our visit was short, we would love to return & again stay at the Westby Inn! Thanks again Pam & Jim
By this review, it sounds like the Scandia Room in the Westby House Guest Lodge met every expectations that we were hoping it would when the lodge was constructed in 2001. If it is privacy you want and you are on the go all hours, then either the Scandia or Pinewood Room will fit your needs. Thank you Pam and Jim for taking the time to tell others of your weekend getaway.

We very much enjoyed our 5 night stay in the detached guest house (the Pinewood Room). The room contained everything we needed--and more! The kitchenette was most appreciated, the living room was amazingly spacious, the bed was nice & comfy, and the bathrobes were oh so cozy! Every day, while we were out, our next morning's continental breakfast was "delivered": cereals, baked goods, fruit, juice, yogurt & milk--a great way to start out each day. Our hosts did everything right to make us feel very welcome. This is a great place to stay if you want to get a feel for the Westby area--we recommend it highly!
Isn't it great to feel like you were at home when you really were not???!!! We are happy that the Pinewood Room offered exactly what you were desiring. Spending 4-5 days is almost a requirement to get to know and feel for the Westby area. Look forward to a return stay and thank you for penning this review.

This is absolutely the best B&B in southwestern Wisconsin, and my wife and I have been to most of them in that area of the state. Mike and Marie will make you feel as though you have been friends forever. The breakfasts (we stayed two nights) were delicious, the room (we had the Library Room) was very clean with all kinds of thoughtful touches, and the whole atmosphere was one of relaxation. The inn is nestled in some of the most beautiful countryside of Wisconsin, and the Amish vendors in the area adds to its quaintness. Grant Mattes, Sheboygan WI
Grant, Thank you for taking the time to pen this review. We truly appreciate it as it warms our hearts. It is rewarding to know that what we do is recognized by our guests. We look forward to seeing the two of you on a return stay. Hope you had a wonderful 41st Anniversary!

We happened to be in the area for an appreciation dinner at the Harvest Moon Farm where we have a share. Since we live on the North side of Chicago, we planned to stay overnight. We have the highest regard and we'll return again, and recommend it to our friends!

My wife and I have always wanted to stay at a B&B, so for our 30th anniversary I decided to surprise her. We had a great time and I believe we have grown even closer.
Sounds like celebrating an anniversary at the Westby House is the perfect venue. This just proves it is never to late to experience your first B&B! Wishing you many more years of wedded bliss and many more stays at B&B's.

We have stayed at several B&Bs and this is at the top of our list. Very comfortable, excellent service, great food, and extremely neat and clean. It's easy to tell that Mike & Marie take great pride in sharing the Inn with their guests. We will be back and will pass the word along.
Thank you for taking the time to place a review. Meeting our guests expectations is a top priority of ours and happy to be on the top of your list of B&B's!

We had a delightful stay at Westby House. I am kind of a freak for cleanliness and this b&b exceeded my expectations. This is a beautiful and very well kept home and Mike and Marie could not have been better hosts. I highly recommend a stay here, you won't be sorry!

The Westby House in Westby, WI is set in the beautiful, rural, dolling hills of southwestern Wisconsin. The inn is beautifully restored with a focus on detail. The spacious rooms, beautiful antiques and elegant, satisfyng breakfast make it more than a B&B.
The Driftless Area of hills and valleys are unique to this part of Wisconsin. No two roads or hills are the same. Each bend and turn is a new adventure. Glad you took the time to explore. We strive to make each and every guest feel important with the inn's surroundings. Thank you for the review!

All the details were taken care of by Marie & Mike. They both are very outgoing and informative about what the area has to offer. They were accomodating to allow us to use one of the dining rooms for cards at night. The gourmet breakfast was delicious. Westby is also close enough to many sightseeing or shopping areas. We loved the "library" room we had, and enjoyed our wine and appetizers upon arrival.

My husband and I stayed at Westby House for his 40th b-day to do some local fly fishing. We do a lot of traveling, and try to stay at B & B's as often as possible. I have to say we were extremely impressed with the Westby House. The rooms were clean and fresh, and the little details the owners added were great. A book of local restaurants, and full course breakfast to die for (and she even was prepared for my gluten allergy), as well as a trail map for biking the next day. What a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. I'd recommend the Westby House Victorian Inn to anyone looking for a great escape.

We stayed in the Pinewood room, which is a detached room with a private entrance. It was a great value and came with a continental breakfast each day. The room was immaculate, as was the entire property. I highly recommend the Westby House for those travelling to the Kickapoo Valley in Wisconsin.

This was our second time to stay at the Westby House and it will become a tradition as long as we are able to visit Wisconsin for our family reunion. Marie and Mike and their lovely inn make so much more an enjoyable trip. Enjoy selecting a different room each stay. This time it was the garden room and it was decorated to attractively. With a lot of extra in room amenities. The service was great and breakfast both mornings was thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you Marie and Mike for the Birthday wishes as well.
We are happy that the Westby House is, and will continue to be, your "home away from home"! Your kind review will re-affirm future guests in choosing the inn. Thank you so much and we look forward to your next family reunion.

Great place to stay when fishing the area trout streams. The breakfast provided for the "fisherman"s rooms" is a great idea. Very comfortable room to spend the non-fishing hours. It would be great if the check-in times could be adjusted since the 4PM - 7 pm window is prime flyfishing time.
Westby is a fly-fisherman's paradise with over 200 miles of Class A trout streams and we are glad we can provide Habitat for fisherman guests too. Glad to provide that service. We realize there are times that guest's schedules, like prime fly-fishing, do not fit into our listed check-in time period. By letting us know that your schedule will not work into our check-in time frame, we will do our best to grant extended check-in times. Fishing season is open until last weekend in September. Come see us and stay in the Pinewood or Scandia Rooms.

We stayed in the Garden Room which was so sunny & warm. The bed was so comfortable & Marie you mad such wonderful Breakfast the two mornings we were there. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home & pictures of all the hard work you & Mike did to make it a MasterPiece. We will share with others about your home. Ole & Lena's was such a cute diner & we enjoyed the lunch very much! We didn't know that you owned that too! Wow! Thanks & God Bless! Nan & Ron
Thank you for taking the time to reflect on your stay with us. Meeting expectations is a top goal of the Westby House. Thank you and hope to see you again.

We were in need for a night away and somewhere close. We had not been in the area for some years and were very surprised by the Westby House. It was both relaxing, victorian and comfortable. The whole stay was great. I usually do not complete reviews but felt a need to pass along our great stay. I would recommend the Westby House to everyone I know.

Upon leaving S. Dakota, we were informed that the Victorian inn we were suppose to stay at had no power & the road was flooded. What to do? We happened to find this one in a B&B book at the Welcome Center in LaCrosse. We called & they had an opening - we had the MOST beautiful suite, such elegance. Marie is a very charming innkeeper and a lot of fun. We enjoyed ice cream that their shop across the road, too. VERY good! Check them out!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the fine quality of food, table settings, great coffee and service. Very clean and comfortable bed. Being able to book online was great - we had do make rush arrangements and the whole experience was seamless. An older friend was with us and she was given extra special attention. We all enjoyed the decor (just done up for Christmas) of the beautiful and tastefully done inn. A fun little gift shop completed the setting. We will certainly be back - even though we only live a few miles away!

Marie and Mike are friendly and run a beautiful bed and breakfast. The house is gorgeous and decorated with great attention to detail. Two things could be improved in my opinion; the pillows were rather stiff and hard, and the first breakfast we had did not have much protein. But everything was very delicious, fruit and juice, muffin, good bacon. And the coffee was very good. I would love to stay there again!
At the Westby House our goal is to make a difference in why you choose us for your b&b experience. During your stay we make every effort to make that difference and meet your desires. The firmness of pillows is just one of the many amenities we offer. Since the firmness of a pillow is a very personal desire, we hope that you will find your right comfort level in the various firmnesses offered in the extra pillows stocked in each room. Breakfast selections for multiple night stays are alternated with a variety of egg based entrees such as breakfast strudel, mushroom egg biscuit, BLT egg bake and non-egg based entrees like cherry stuffed french toast, pumpkin-sour cream pancakes or stuffed blintzes. Offering this style of breakfast is the "anticipation" of the dining experience. We look forward to your stay and wishing happiness and joy this season.

I stayed in the Victorianne Suite this November and it was just outstanding. The room was very clean. The star ceiling was just wonderful, I had never seen anything like it. The service could not be better. The breakfast was just remarkable. Every thing about this B&B is just a wonderful experience.
The Victorianne Suite lets you live the life you dream of right under the stars in the suite. The illusion of stars appear on the ceiling once the lights are turned off. If it is relaxation, relieving stress or revitlalize your spirit you desire, than be sure you stay in the Victorianne Suite. Check for availability on our web site.

We enjoyed the weekend stay. Great food presented in the most elegant way. Marie and Mike were very knowledgeable and helpful in giving us local activies and attractions to complete our weekend away from our busy lives. Ole & Lena's Kaffe Hus, which Marie and Mike also operate, was a favorite of ours. The ice cream was a great way for us to end our day before retiring to our beautiful Westby Suite. We highly recommend the Westby House as a place to relax.
Southwest Wisconsin has so much to offer to travelers. It's beauty, from the high ridges and low valleys, to winding roads and creeks. The Amish community and outdoor sports of biking, hiking and canoeing draw folks to this area. Exploring the area is a great pastime and returning to the Westby House afterwards adds to a relaxing weekend. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

We thought the property was beautiful and meticulous. Very clean and comfortable. Coffee was not good at all, weak and watered down. Disappointing at a B&B.
Our staff appreciates your comments on the property as we continue to meet our standards everyday. Thank you for bringing the coffee quality to our attention. The food service equipment vendor had done routine maintenance on the machine last week. We have asked them to return to check that all settings are correct, or if a setting has failed. We have investiagated on our own as well and find that there may be some inconsistance in the brew but not sure. Thank you again.

My husband and I were at the Westby House to celebrate our 31st anniversary from 10/11 to 10/13. We have visited many B & Bs over the past 10 years, and agreed that Westby House had the largest rooms and suites that we have ever had the pleasure of occupying! Attention is paid to every detail in the rooms, and the Tower Suite was spacious and welcoming. Mike and Marie are experienced innkeepers who make it appear effortless to accommodate special diets, special requests, etc. It was a pleasure to be pampered by them, and to have peace of mind that every last detail had been taken care of. I don't know if they planned it, but our breakfast tablemates were interesting and added to our B & B experience! Mike and Mary are also well-versed in the locations of various attractions throughout the area, as well as restaurants that could accommodate hungry travelers at 6 p.m. on a Saturday evening! The Hidden Valley area of WI was absolutely beautiful at this time of year, and we are happy to have found a "home" for our fall anniversary trips. It is also just 28 miles from LaCrosse, so if your heart is seeking some time with 'Ol Man River, the Westby House is the perfect place to stay!
Celebrating an Anniversary is the top reason guests stay at the Westby House. Wishing you many more years and many returns to the B&B. It is our goal to accommodate every guests needs and that we met them during your stay is every reason why we enjoy this 'Art of Innkeeping'.

After just two nights we felt like Marie was a longtime friend. She directed us to the quaint Amish farms in the area and to outstanding places to eat. Of course, this was in addition to the clear, comfortable, well appointed room. The dining was superb, we think Marie should be publishing a cook book. We look forward to returning and encourage you to enjoy this great B &B.
Southwest Wisconsin does offer invigorating nature for the mind and soul all year round. We are glad you enjoyed your time spent in the area and your stay with us. Our web site has several of the breakfast recipes posted. Feel free to copy and add to "your" favorite recipes!

My family and I had a wonderful four day stay at the Westby House. The fall colors and weather was amazing and the city of Westby is centrally located which makes Driftless Area access very easy. Mike & Marie Cimino, the Westby House Innkeepers, are unsurpassed with the warm hospitality that they provide and Marie always cooks up a delicious breakfast. It is Marie's life passion to run a B&B and it really shows when you stay at the Westby house. Be sure to stop at Ole & Lena's coffee shop while in Westby because it is run by Mike and Marie with the same high quality level as the Westby House. I highly recommend a stay at the Westby House! This was our first stay at a B&B, and we were quite surprised how beautiful it was. Our Westby Suite was decorated in antiques and very spacious. We were very pleased with everything. The only thing that we were not happy about was the fact that the room had no air conditioning, only a fan, and was somewhat uncomfortable for relaxing. The weather was unusually hot for this time of year ( Oct. ) 82 degrees, and if at least a window air conditioning unit was available, our stay would have been alot better. Over all a beautiful B&B and our hosts were wonderful.
It was our pleasure to have you as your first time B&B. Our goal is to meet all expections during the guest's stay. The fall colors and the unexpected warm day were perfect for our travelers. The Westby House does have central air through out the inn. On unexcepted warm days it does take time to overpower Mother Nature. With the seasons changing, the Westby Suite is a wonderfully romantic room where you can enjoy the fireplace.

You know how they say to expect less and you won't be dissapointed, well throw that adage away for your stay at 'The Westby House'. Malgorzata, my beautiful girlfriend and I (Rudy) had an amazing time in this wonderful home... It was just that! We felt the cozy warmth of home, while we delighted with the fine meals and treatment from Marie and Mike. We inhaled a refreshing air of vacation living. Furthermore, when we switched from 'The Jaccuzi Suite' to the 'The Pinewood Room', we thought that we were downgrading, since the price implied that, but we soon found out that we had just another amazing room with a different motif and soul. Malgorzata has travelled all over the world, and she was absolutely delighted with 'The Westby House'! We partook in early morning jogs, while enjoying the amazing country scenery. We were just a relaxing drive away from horseback riding, dinner boat rides in the great Mississippi River, cinema, and wonderful restaurant experiences in neighboring towns. If you want to indulge in a fine and relaxing vacation in the Wisconsin country, you have to book this house! We will definitely be back. We absolutely loved it!
We are heart-warmed by your experience while staying at the Westby House and that you were willing to be adventureous during your 4-day stay by letting us accommodate you in two different rooms, added a little more enchantment for you. Thank you for your kind review.

We went to the Westby House to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The room we had reserved was not accessible due to some unexpected concrete work being done on the day we arrived. Marie upgraded us to a larger corner room and offered us complimentary (and delicious) full breakfasts the next morning. The room was lovely, the breakfast wonderful, and the ambiance of the inn and the town charming, and our hostess was very gracious. We felt very pampered.
It is our goal to excede our guests expections. By offerng the upgraded room and a full breakfast verses the contiental with the unaccessible room, it was our way of making sure each and every guest is comfortable and taken care of during their stay.

We came to Wesby House to share our 1st anniversary. We wanted someplace romantic and the tower suite more than exceeded our expectations!! We had never stayed at a B & B before and were shocked by how wonderful the breakfast was. Marie is an excellent cook and she and Mike are so friendly! They make you feel right at home. They helped us select a wonderful restaraunt for our special evening and made the reservations for us!! During the day we went kayaking down the Kikapoo river and had so much fun. The river is high from all of the flooding so we had rapids and fallen trees to nagotiate-a true adventure:) We also were able to stop by an Amish communittee and see the wonderful shops. We are so pleased with our selection of the Wesby House and have so many wonderful memories of our first anniversary together!

Being rerouted because of the Iowa floods, we found this quaint and very welcoming inn. Marie greeted us as if we have been friends for years. The inn is MAGNIFICENT - the open stairway, the inviting dining areas and then the room! Wow...we were fortunate to get the Wesby Room. Enchanting! The room was VERY spacious, inviting and comfortable! This inn was the most quiet and relaxing inn on our trip! Marie was a very warm and delightful hostess - we needed that after being rerouted with the Iowa floods. Thanks Marie and Mike for an awesome night's lodging, scrumtious breakfast and small town friendliness!

Just stayed at the Westby House on the weekend of Memorial Day, 2008. Folks that run the Inn were very gracious, beautiful B&B, rooms and meals. Definitely request the full breakfast...delicious! Not sure how the price compares to other B&B's but I found it a "good bang for the buck". No problems with security, noise from people running down the halls or ice machines. The area around the town of Westby is beautiful and everybody you meet is welcoming. Very good small stream trout fishing in the area.

Absolutely beautiful property! We felt like we had stepped back in time. Every room is exquisitely decorated with antiques and period pieces, but very comfortable. Exceptionally clean! Delicious food graciously served on delicate china! Not a detail has been missed in recreating the environment of a gentile Victorian home. Room rates are very affordably priced...we will definitely be staying here again!
We make it our goal to meet everyone's expections during their stay. It is your kind words that inspire us to continue with meeting those expections! Thank you.

We stayed overnight at the Westby House in December while attending a Holiday party in town. The accomodations were very comfortable and clean. Mike and Marie ensured we were comfortable and the breakfast was delicious! Thanks for a wonderful overnight!

Ariving on a snowy day just before Thanksgiving we were given the warmest of welcomes. Anything you need Marie and Mike are there to help-a step back in time to good old values in a house that is charming.

The Westby House Vistorian Inn and the innkeepers are hospitable and welcoming. It is an excellent B&B - professionally run and a pleasure to be welcomed there as a guest. The innkeepers have thought about every detail to make one's stay comfortable, pleasant and enjoyable. I am sure that you will like it there. I most certainly did!

This was our first time at a B & B. We could not have asked for more! We both love antiques and the Victorian age, and the detail that went into this home is amazing!Highly recommended!

Mike and Marie are great hosts, serve wonderful food, have great ideas for spending the day away from the suite, and have kept their B&B in amazing shape! It was our first B&B experience, but it won't be our last. Put this one on your list of places to see.
To see "Things to Do" in the Westby area, go to our web site at westbyhouse.com for day trips that are already planned for you. There is always something to do in the area.

Lovely place to get away to. I wish that my house was this clean! No details were overlooked. Beware that the shops of Westby close up at 5pm on Saturday, so come early. What a great breakfast you put on. I will recommend the dining room to nearby relatives. Thank you again, and we hope to be back.

We stayed in the Pinewood room, a two story room with a loft sleeping area and a kitchenette and living area on the first floor. Everywhere you go in house is exceptionally clean. It is centrally located for biking, hiking, golfing, and horseback riding during the spring, summer, and fall and a plethora of winter activities. The breakfast each day was outstanding and Mike and Marie offered alternatives for those with exceptional dietary needs. We stayed 3 nights with 4 other couples in our party. The only thing we found that might be improved is having a common area for a large group, maybe the front room of the dining room which be closed off in the evening. There was a large screened canopy outside and the weather for the first week of October was unseasonably warm. This allowed all of us to socialize whenever we wanted. You could not ask for a greater host and hostess. Mike and Marie made us feel like we were visting friends. I would recommend this wonderful place to anyone.

10 of us took a long weekend getaway together at the Westby House. The rooms were great, the food was great, the hosts were great and the weather was great.

Wonderful attention to details, this one is the definition of "hospitality", not to mention beautiful.

We had a nice time in the library room. We stayed here 5 years ago for our honeymoon and fell in love with the area and the Inn.
We thank you and appreciate you being one of our many repeat guests.

My husband and I stayed at the Westby House Victorian Inn with two of my brothers and their wives over Labor Day weekend. Mike and Marie run a lovely B&B. The Victorian home is beautiful and IMMACULATE! By far the best kept B&B I've ever been in and I've been in dozens over the years. The breakfasts were fabulous and the owners charming. We would definitely recommend this inn to anyone.
Glad you enjoyed your time with family at the Inn. It is our goal to meet the expections of the guests and to offer hospitality that makes memories. By the way, one of your brothers is returning next weekend!

We have not stayed here as overnight guests(we live 4 miles away), but this is our favorite place to eat, wonderful food and service, and the turtle cheesecake is to die for! We gave our grown-up children(2 different couples) gifts of a night at this B&B and both couples absolutely loved it! Marie and Mike do a wonderful job!

Even though our trip was one to be remembered with the flood, the B & B was wonderful. The hosts were very friendly, room was beautiful and cozy, and breakfast was tasty. This was our first B and B stay and we will be back. This trip was to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary.

We stayed in the Pinewood Room/Suite. It was lovely. One small thing that was not perfect is that our room faced out to the street and there is a pub across the street that was a little noisy on Friday night. It was a cool night so we had the windows open. The spiral staircase can be a bit challenging to navigate in the middle of the night, but Mike and Marie provided a nightlight/flashlight which came in handy. Other than that, everything was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Westby house to our friends. We would like to come back again.

Mike and Marie Cimino are the perfect hosts in their gorgeous Victorian mansion. We stayed in perfect comfort and the breakfast was outstanding--especially Marie's zucchini pancakes. We highly recommend dinner at DiSciascio's in nearby Coon Valley and also the "Ski Jump Tour" drive. We can't wait to return, hoping to bike the "Amish Tour" in the fall.

First B&B my wife and I have ever been to. Can't imagine that there are to many out there that are as good as this one. I searched the internet for hours trying to find the right place for the right price and found The Westby House. I was more than pleased when we arrived, and even more pleased when we left. We plan on going back to The Westby House again!

We stayed and celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 4th. We had stayed here our wedding on the exact same day. We have stayed here two other times and have always enjoyed our stay. Mike and Marie are wonderful hosts and do a fantastic job making your stay peaceful and special. The food is always unique and delicious. Overall the Westby House is a one of a kind romantic place. "A Hidden Gem"!

Celebrating our 26th anniversary at The Westby House couldn't have been better. Our spacious room was perfectly comfortable. The location was ideal. We enjoyed biking the Sparta-Elroy trail, had a superb dinner in downtown LaCross, and had every question enthusiastically answered by the innkeeper,Marie. What a beautiful B&B, and so affordable!

We chose the Westby house because it was near to our destination - the Kickapoo Country Fair and we only required a single night's stay. Marie and Mike are very gracious hosts. The gardens around the yard were in their summer glory. We stayed in the Victorian room which is in the annex next to the main house.

Mike and Marie are delightful hosts. It would be impossible to stay at the Westby house and not have a great time.

I arranged for a group of 11 with vintage cars to stay at the inn. Everything from food, room and hospitality was great. I worked with the inn keepers via email months in advance and everthing went smoothly. We have traveled the state to various inns for 20 years and all agreed it was one of the finest if not the best value.

Friendly, helpful, accomodating, gracious... How many adjectives would you like? The accomodations and our hosts exceeded our expectations in every way. Mike and Marie are the consummate hosts. And the Westby House is simply beautiful inside and out. Little requests were seen to immediately, the breakfasts were delicious, meeting some of the other guests (all repeat customers) was such fun. And all the "little touches" were included that made our stay a real pleasure. We can recommend Westby House without reservation, and know we'll be back again. We're almost afraid to try anywhere else, for fear it will pale in comparison.
