We stayed in the Paul Bunyan and this cabin is top notch. It is so clean and the bed is SO comfortable!!! Don and Donna will do anything to make your stay perfect, they are so hospitable it adds the perfect homey touch to your stay. My family had the best time enjoying the property, relaxing on the porch swing, building a fire and letting our dogs run around the disc golf course (feeding the llamas was fun too!). We ended our days in the jacuzzi whirl tub with lots of bubbles! This resort is tucked away so if you're looking for a relaxing spot to unwind this is it.
Guests like you make it so easy for us to do a great job! Inn keeping is like dancing.

Sami, Maggie & I would just like to say we had the perfect weekend away together at your place. Staying in the Little House Cabin was cozy & quaint. What a wonderful sight to wake up to each morning, just outside our doorstep. We enjoyed your breakfast each day! The tasty meals got us started on the right foot for activity-filled days. Maggie just loved the openness of the property and the opportunity to run all over. We made it to The Rock somehow, and agreed that was worth the hike to get there. What a site! You certainly have a little slice of heaven near Sparta, and we were glad you let us share it with you for a weekend. Thanks again!
Don and I are so happy that you had a great time here at Justin Trails Resort. We look forward to your return visits.

I just wanted to write you a quick note to let you know how much we loved our stay at your gorgeous farm. We had the best time. The kiddos loved your sweet animals. It is so cute to hear Bella tell her friends about Sox taking Vincents muffin! :) They loved the tubing, the wonderful walk and didnt even mind working! We devoured your delicious Granola. Thanks again for your warm hospitality. We look forward to hopefully seeing you this summer sometime!

Just wanted to let you know that we all had a wonderful time at Justin Trails. You have a beautiful property and the Paul Bunyon Cabin was cozy and comfortable. We sat outside after dinner and enjoyed watching the bats and fireflies. We could tell that the breakfast was filled with love. We really enjoyed your homemade goodies. I'm glad I snagged a bag of granola for home. It will bring back great memories of our trip there. The bacon was grilled to perfection. Everyone commented on how crunchy it was. Awesome! We will be back next year. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant. It was very nice meeting you.
Your positive comments are so valuable to help an innkeeper continue to give great service!

Donna and Don, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you folks for your hospitality and the good time we had on our visit to Justin Trail Resorts a few weeks ago. We were so delighted to get that “end of the winter season” vacation in, with snow, and with our friends, before they had to return to Mexico. Thanks, Donna, for the personal cross-country ski lessons for Guadalupe. That helped her gain some confidence in being able to do something on skis, since she has had little luck trying to learn downhill. We hope to visit you again someday, whether it be summer or winter, in the near future. We loved everything about the Resort! I just recently finished the last of your tasty granola! Yummy!!! Best of health to both of you and your family, including all your companion creatures. We’ll see you again sometime. Take care!! Jim & Guadalupe (Aura and Jorge share our sentiments, as well!)
I have an adult life long joy in cross-country skiing and absolutely love to teach anyone willing to try to learn this fun sport. Thank you for the kind words!

We loved this place and plan to return. We both work at a B&B and because of this are pretty picky. We were very impressed. It's a great location with sleding, sking, snowshoeing in the winter and great bicycling in the summer. It's a short jaunt into LaCrosse to visit relatives although we really didn't want to leave. The breakfast was exceptional, loved the animals and the owners.. Donna even ran out to our car with some muffins for my Mother we were visiting in an Assisted Living facility (she loved them) The set-up is great for families and small groups. We plan on bringing friends back where we can visit in a sitting room/dining room area yet each have our own private suite to retire to. Highly recommend!!
Your kind words are music to my ears! I look forward to visiting your inn soon.

Our Paul Bunyan log cabin is sheltered between two towering silver maple trees with two private entrances, a back yard of gardens and open lawn for play. This is a Scandinavian-Scribe log home built with huge aspen, logged from our farm in rural Sparta, Wisconsin. In 1994, we created this 1,000 square foot oasis for larger groups and your family getaway needs in mind...
Little House on the Prairie log cabin was handcrafted from Jack Pine in the Scandinavian-Scribe style in 1988. This 12 x 16 foot cabin is perfect for a cozy two-some getaway. The whirlpool is in the loft accessed by a ladder. With the sky light and octagon window, it feels like being in your own tree house. Sink into the log rocking chairs on the veranda to watch a spectacular sunset. Breakfast can be delivered and set up for you on the porch or in the cozy cabin near the fireplace.
Picture yourself relaxing on your own private deck. Your view to the west is of our llamas Dusty & Rusty and the fairway & basket for #18 on the Big Brother disc golf course. In winter you'll see folks whizzing down one of our sledding hills. Arborvitae (shrub) create a private space all your own. This wood frame building has a cathedral ceiling with 3 beams, a skylight, large kitchenette area with a table & chairs, sepia tone H.H. Bennett photos and cozy corner whirlpool for two. Guests always tell us The Cottage is larger than it looks from the outside. This cabin is perfect for a family with young children, a group of 3 adults or a couple.
It's fun to snuggle up together in this king size bed wrapped in a Peacock Alley duvet all warm and cozy. Relax in the large double whirlpool. Sometimes a fire is nice. This one includes beautiful pine Woodbrick surrounding the fireplace. The fire is viewable from both the bed and the whirlpool bathtub. You?ll feel as special as Martin Sheen, President from the TV show The West Wing who stayed with his wife in this suite. This is how it became known as the Presidential Suite.
This is a wonderful place to open the window, snuggle up in a Peacock Alley comforter and listen to birds singing. Just outside this window is one of our 125-year-old silver maple trees filled with happy birds. A Birdseye maple headboard, dresser, dressing table and nightstand are vintage furnishings. Views of our gardens can be seen from three windows in the two bedrooms used to create this 400 square foot suite. This suite also has a beautiful fireplace you can watch from the bed or large double whirlpool. Honoring our heritage, we chose "Lona," short for Appolonia Justin, Don?s grandmother who with her husband, Gustave, had the house built by local carpenters in 1920.
Your private entrance welcomes you to a large three season porch. Relax on white wicker furniture gazing out at our gardens and huge silver maple tree. Beyond the porch, your bedroom has a leather couch, flat screen TV with Dish Network and DVD player. Treat yourself to the extraordinarily large (80 inches x 8 feet) grand king Select Comfort air bed dressed with a gorgeous original design Sue Z Quilt. Each of you select the softness or firmness of your side of the bed. You have a private bathroom with a bathtub/shower, two sinks, toilet and complimentary private label spa amenities.

We adore introducing people to our healing land. Our best days are when guests tell us how much they enjoy silent sports from disc golf to cross-country skiing on our century farm. We restored old buildings and put them to new uses like our lodging and Elegant Barn Wedding Venue. Healing has come from restoring land to native prairie, oak savanna and woodlands. We participate in permaculture: pesticide/herbacide free, 3 acres organic gardens, 50 acres certified organic farming.
