A Lovely B&B in Racine

4.2 on June 06, 2018

This is a beautiful, well run B&B that has wonderful rooms and is right on the edge of town. The rooms are nice, comfortable, clean...the staff friendly and very accommodating. There are drinks and snacks on every level of the B&B. The hosts are friendly and nice. Breakfast is sort of on your own - with coffee, etc. made in the a.m., and breakfast items available whenever you want...but not the sort of breakfast "cooked and served". Different for a B&B from my experience, but ok. We loved the rooms and the availability of drinks and snacks. And Racine is a great little town. I would definitely recommend this B&B.

First B&B a wonderful experience

4.8 on September 17, 2017

Went to brewfest in Racine and the inn was nearby. This was my first as well as my bf's first time in a bed and breakfast and boy what a wonderful experience! We stayed in a room in the first floor, bed was a queen, and bathroom was spacious. For breakfast we had coffee, OJ, souffle that was delicious! The views are wonderful, the day was gorgeous to sit outside next to an over 200 yr. Old tree and drink coffee and marvel at the beautiful views. Everyone was very nice! We will be returning only this time we plan on staying in room #2 with the bathtub Jacuzzi:)

Racine lake view retreat

4.4 on August 30, 2017

My husband and I stayed at this lovely Bed and Breakfast on the occasion of our 35th Anniversary. When we checked in, we were told that our room would be upgraded to a lake view (beautiful!) without asking. Because we arrived on a weekday, we knew that there would not be a full breakfast as was the case on the weekend. The common rooms were beautifully done, and had the same wonderful views! My husband and I are not fans of heavy Victorian decor, so we were happy that the decor was light and airy, with some beautiful antique pieces. Would recommend highly if you find yourself in Racine area!

Weekday Bliss

4.6 on August 02, 2017

My husband and I had a wonderful getaway for our 20th anniversary. The Lochnaiar was absolutely beautifully decorated with a unique charm, Char was the welcoming and attentive innkeeper, who knew the area and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and things to do during our stay. We had an amazing time. Thank you so much for everything!

Great Inn on the Greatest Lake!

5 on May 13, 2017

We stayed at the Lochnaiar a second time while visiting family and it remains a wonderful place to stay in Racine. Shea continues to create a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere for her guests. While our stay was short, we left fully refreshed. Taking in the lake from the sitting room of the Master Suite was a highlight, and with a dining table it made for the perfect spot for our date night dinner. The Inn is perfectly located to take in all the historic houses in the area and enjoy an afternoon downtown shopping; all within easy walking distance. There is no other option when we are in Racine! Thanks Shea!

Wonderful Get-away

5 on October 06, 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at Lochnaiar. We were warmly greeted, and Shea filled us in on the history of the building. The décor is beautiful, and the breakfast was delicious. We were on the 3rd floor and had a great view of Lake Michigan. There is a bike/walking path along the lake that we hoped to use. Unfortunately, it was windy and raining while we were there. Hope to return soon!

Innkeeper Response
It was the windiest day we had all year. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay though. You'll have to come back next summer when the weather is nicer.

A Charming Stay

4.6 on September 08, 2016

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely stay at Lochnaiar Inn. First of all, the lighting was so lovely in the first floor dining and seating areas with lovely Lake and Garden views. The wine, cheese and sausage the first night were very tasty. Bed was very comfortable. Decor throughout the entire facility was fresh and beautifully done. Would definitely stay again, but next time for two nights.

Innkeeper Response
So nice to hear. We loved having you and yes next time stay longer.

Serene surprise, gorgeous sunrise

4.6 on August 20, 2016

We just wanted a spot where we could unwind with a view of a lake. What a wonderful surprise the Lochanair was! Charm and serenity incarnate overlooking the blue expanse of Lake Michigan (gorgeous sunrise!). Our room was spotless and comfortable. Delicious breakfast. Owners strive to make guests at home with amenities like coffee, tea, cold drinks and snacks. Our fellow guests were a delight. Highly recommend the Lochanair!

Innkeeper Response
Thank you. Glad you got to relax and enjoy. We really enjoyed having you.

Thankful for the small things!

4.6 on August 17, 2016

Lochnaiar is such a beautiful and serene place to visit. The Premium suite is AMAZING! The shower alone is the most relaxing, amazing, and perfect for more than one reason. The jetted extra large tub is absolutely perfect with candles and bath salts for added extras! And the view is spectacular! So the room was BEAUTIFUL, PERFECT, and AMAZING, but the owners are just as AWESOME, KIND, and WELCOMING with all the little "extras" from an upgrade just because they felt we may need a little extra, to the wine and cheese from 5-7, the refrigerator in the hall filled with various sodas and drinks, to the snacks and York peppermint patties. There are games and movies available to use as you wish, and the home is decorated so beautifully and serene. Thank YOU, because YOU made our visit to Racine worth the trip!

Innkeeper Response
I'm so happy you had a wonderful stay. You and your husband are such a nice couple. Come back soon.

Beautiful Inn on Lake Michigan

4.2 on August 13, 2016

Great location on the lake in Racine. We took many walks along the lake front and through the historic homes neighborhood. Gorgeous decor, great shower. We were there during the week so didn't get to experience the breakfast other than breads, boiled eggs, etc. They did have Bendsen's Kringle every morning.

Innkeeper Response
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We have added full breakfast option for weekdays now too.

Signature Dish

Egg Cups with Smoked Apple Sausage
This dish was handed down to us by my mother who makes it on our family weekend breakfast. It consists of eggs, heavey cream, ham or bacon, and seasoning cooked in a cupcake pan for delicious, fluffy egg baskets. Pair that with our delicious apple smoked sausage and you have a great start to your weekend.
