Nice place, quiet and very nice setting. The proprietor was easy to work with and accommodating. We didn't get to enjoy the grounds so much because we stayed for a Packer game. Very reasonable compared to other places in Green Bay or Appleton. I would stay there again. Dining I only gave 3 becaus it was a continental breakfast and I wouldn't call that dining, so it really doesn't apply.

Stayed two nights. The room was spacious and comfortable with a great wooded view. Home made cookies and a bottle of wine greeted us in our room upon arrival. It was a relaxing stay as there are only 3 rooms. We had the large living room down stairs to ourselves. The property is very scenic with many acres to stroll. Plenty of places within a short drive for good food and gambling for those who feel lucky. I highly recommend this Inn.

This beautiful property shows the love & care this young couple (& their family) have put into making this place a destination to meet your needs. We appreciate the privacy and scerenity offered by this B & B and will definitely be returning. We are looking forward to taking advantage of their unique turkey hunting special.

The room was very clean and we had a welcome tray in our room with European chocolates and small bottles of liquor. A very nice and unexpected surprise. The continental breakfast was a generous selection of hot and cold cereal, fresh bakery and bagels, fruit, eggs, juices etc.

The hostess was very friendly and helped with planning our day trips, which we did't expect a lot from this area but we did have a great time canoeing because of her advice.

We've spent two weekends at Valhalla and plan on more. The atmosphere is relaxing. The trails are practically at the door. We saw deer our first morning, right outside our room! The owners are very warm and welcoming. The price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend staying there.

The owner Lori, super nice lady!! Very friendly! The stay was pleasant!! The place was clean!! The only thing for me was that it was in the middle of no where. You had to travel a distance to do anything! But besides that minor thing! I would recommend this bed and breakfast.

VERY clean, GREAT service, Quiet, Delicious food...felt like we went to visit Grandma for a weekend instead of a Bed & Breakfast. Lori was so accommodating and helpful and the entire family was delightful and so friendly. We can't wait to go back again!

This was our first real bread and breakfast we stayed at. I don't know how it could have been any better. Great grounds with beautiful views!

The innkeepers went above and beyond with our stay. There was a situation with handicap capabilities that may need more attention. Preferably in the lower level bathroom. Otherwise, our stay was outstanding and I would highly recommend it. Looking forward to my next stay.

Our stay was outstanding at the Valhalla Hillside Inn, near Bowler, WI. The rooms had all the amenities, even cookies and rum. It was very clean and quiet. For what a hotel would have cost, we had privacy and a relaxing setting. We were given coupons for neighboring casinos, which we enjoyed using. We were glad that we had arranged to pick up the coupons earlier in the day than when we could check in.

What a wonderful hidden gem in Bowler WI! The family was very nice and the service was outstanding. We really felt at home and had enjoyed relaxing on both of the decks. Breakfast was very good and a great selection of food...not to mention the fresh baked brownies and cookies delivered to our room. Wonderful area to take in some R & R and the beauty of the fall colors. I would highly recomend a stay here and we will go back.

We really like Valhalla, it has many extras like in the morning, such as coffee juice and rolls etc. Love the hot tub at night, also the exra bottle and robes in the room. Beautiful country setting. Kept up pretty well. Exceptional personal service and deals going on for the near by casino, they even have a shuttle van I saw. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed our stay for the most part. Assume the property would be much prettier in the winter! Enjoyed the breakfast offerings, even though they weren't the breakfast promised. We appreciate3d the extra effort. The one thing that was bothersome was how loud the conversations downstairs by the owners were in our room. The night that Lori? got back from Madison, they were talking til the wee hours of the morning, and it was LOUD in our room, even with our sleep machine turned up. May be due to the recent conversion of the closet to private bathroom, and a lack of sound insulation, but it was pretty bad! Otherwise, very nice.

Valhalla is situated near the Mountain Bay bike trail in Bowler and only about 20min. drive to Shawano to bike it there. The B&B was very nice and our room clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful setting and the grounds are so nicely kept up. We had a special thrill as we were driving out to leave...two adult does were leaping and bounding down the road ahead of us.

Nicely secluded yet close enough to surrounding cities. Great breakfast and very nice rooms.

Lori allowed us to stay that weekend even though she got called in for army reserves. The room was great and the bed very comfortable. I didn't expect the any breakfast because she wasn't going to be there to make any, but we still had muffins, cereal, donuts, coffee and juice. This is the only reason I rated service as met my expectations. My daughter and I enjoyed it, would recommend .

Our first time at a B&B, thanks to a Groupon purchased on a whim as an anniversary present. Husband had much trepidation but just loved it! Lori makes sure her clients have a wonderful stay, and with everything she was juggling, still made our time there very special. One note for new visitors - don't trust Mapquest! There is a significant error (that Lori has tried to get fixed!) and we got lost in the dark because they had the Inn on the wrong side of Hwy 29! Other than that, a wonderful weekend. We especially enjoyed the plum wine and fresh chocolate cookies in our room and her tasty and generous breakfast each morning. Looking forward to returning and exploring more of the grounds when the weather is nicer. Thank you, Lori! Sandy and Rick, Oshkosh.

We enjoyed our stay very much. First time to a Bed and Breakfast and it was just like staying at a friend's house. I felt very much at home. Highly recommend and would love to return again. Much cheaper than a hotel room and 100x better.

This was our first time at a BnB and we were not so sure what to expect but it was great! She made you feel comfortable and was very knowledgeable of the area, gave great idea's for outings. Husband and walked down by the water, very peaceful and beautiful! We plan to go back again! Brownies were amazing! (she leaves them in your room as a special treat)!

We wanted a quiet weekend away for biking and hiking and found the perfect retreat at Valhalla Hilliside Inn. Everything we could have imagined and more! Lori went out of her way to make us feel welcomed and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The whirlpool and fireplaces brought much needed relief after some chilly days on the bike and hiking trails. The Mountain bay bike trail is close and is a great ride no matter what direction you go. The views from the Inn are incredible and we'd highly recommend staying here.

For our 29th wedding anniversary we chose the Valhalla Hillside Inn for a week-end getaway. We had stayed at a bed and breakfast one other time and did not think we would ever choose a bed and breakfast again. We were introduced to the Valhalla through a groupon coupon and after researching their website and reading the great reviews online we decided to stay here for our anniversary. We were so satisfied with every part of the week-end. We enjoyed meeting Lori and Wyatt and would definitely come back if we get another chance. The rooms were so warm and inviting. The beds were very comfortable. Lori goes "all out" to make sure you are satisfied and taken care of. You will leave feeling more like family than guests. The Inn and the outdoor surroundings are beautiful. I recommend everyone to stay here. You'll be glad you did.

My husband and I stayed at the Valhalla Hillside Inn for two nights. We had never been to a B&B before, and were unsure of what to expect. The Inn was clean, comfy and secluded. Lori was an amazing hostess! From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were at home. In addition, the Mathwich's have partnered with many business in the area who offer their guest perks and service discounts. We are currently planning our next getaway there. Thanks, Shawn and Lori!

This was my first time staying in a Bed and Breakfast, needless to say, I would reccomend this place to any of my friends, Lori had her hands full with her baby but still managed to take excellant care of us! We will deffinately be back!!!

This was my first experience at a bed and breakfast. The bar has been set awfully high for any future B&B stays. Lori was so very gracious and her home is as comfortable as it is beautiful. I don't think the entire experience could have been any better. We arrived very late in the afternoon without reservations. Lori bent over backwards to accomodate us, however, with no warning, was not able to provide breakfast the following morning. We completely understood and definitely do not hold that against her. I definitely recommend making reservations. I know I will, next time. And next time I'll make time to explore the footpaths we saw on our way out.

Our friends live in the area and recommended the Valhalla. Neither my wife or I have stayed much in B&B's and were somewhat reluctant, but, based on our friends kind words decided to give it a try. I'll tell you what, I've stayed in some high priced hotels, the Valhalla was every bit as nice. Clean rooms, quiet evenings, charming innkeepers...a tray of cookies & a bottle of wine in our room upon arrival. Carmel corn & chocolates on the pillow the second night. Outstanding breakfast…too much for the wife & me. It just doesn't get better than that for me. Lori & family...dog too, go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as they can. All I have to say is that if your traveling WI Hwy 29, you've got to check this place out. Casino's abound, I think 4 within 20 miles or so of the inn. Lori may even give you a ride if you feel like having a drink, so you don't have to drive. We had just a great stay and hope to be back in the future...that is if they have any rooms. Once you stay, you'll want to come back. Thanks again Lori.
