We met several couples at Murphin Ridge for a night in October; we are all Miami grads and enjoy getting together with each other. We had such a wonderful time that one couple is planning to have their 50th anniversary gathering there. The lodging, food, hosts , bonfire, actually everything, was lovely. We all highly recommend it.
The Inn has options of standard rooms or quaint cabins in the woods. The staff could not have been more accommodating and the food was decadent. After dinner each night we went out to the fire pit and watched the stars. We have already made reservations to go back.
The inn is set well away from major roads and finding it was an interesting ride - GPS was helpful. Check-in was quick and efficient and we were soon in our room, which was clean and spacious with an excellent view. The air-conditioning appears to have been over-powered, and the gale coming from the vents caused the grill over the vent to shake. Meals, including box lunches, were of excellent quality and service was friendly, efficient, and accommodating. The grounds offer several walking paths and we enjoyed the evenings sitting around the fire ring with other guests engaging in pleasant conversation. It was a very enjoyable stay, and I will recommend to others.
The Cabin was beautiful and the little extra's are top notch. We ordered a fruit and cheese tray and chocolate covered strawberries to find them perfectly wrapped with ribbons awaiting in our cabin on arrival. They were absolutely amazing so delicious!
We've been to Murphin Ridge four times and this was the best so far. We've always stayed in a cabin and we were in The Donald this time. This was our first time with the new owners. Room clean and extra towels and sheets happily delivered on request. Breakfast both Saturday and Sunday was fine, buy dinners both nights were incredible and I am a foodie! Relaxing and romantic. We look forward to our next visit.
We had a room in one of the cabins. The room is very upscale, very intimate. There is no place to sit, other than on the tall bed or on one of the two comfy chairs. In good weather, it's also nice to sit on the rustic chairs or swing out on the porch. The glassed-in shower stall and the open jacuzzi mean that you and your partner will be on very inimate terms! The breakfast at the main building's indoor/outdoor dining area was wonderful.
Wonderful Wonderful B and B. Great Food, nice Inn Keepers, tons of things to do, great spacious cabins, already have dates on when we can return. The ONLY thing I would suggest is better markings on the Red Dog Trail. It was poorly marked and we got lost in the woods. After climbing thru poision ivy for about a half hour we finally got back on the trail that led us back... but it was rough for a short stint.
My husband and I like to get away in the country. Murphin Ridge was wonderful. It was quiet, relaxing, the food was excellent and the people were very friendly (employees and other guests). We are planning on taking our friends back with us. Pam J Lebanon OH
I cannot say enough good things about Murphin Ridge Inn. We first stayed last March and absolutely loved it. The cabins are amazing, you cannot ask for anything better. The food is also wonderful. I look forward to the smoked sausage every time we visit. The ribs are also outstanding. As soon as we left last March, we immediately booked another stay for our Anniversary in August. It was nothing short of spectacular again. My wife is already bugging me about getting the next trip on the books.
The lower rating of "exceeded my expectations" for "Value" is because the cost seems a bit on the pricey side, but it is well worth it! We stayed in one of the Amish-built cabins which are comfortable, cozy, well-appointed, and relatively secluded in their wooded setting. The owners and staff are all friendly and eager to ensure a wonderful stay at this inn. The breakfasts and dinners provided were delicious and well presented. We plan on staying with them again!
We decided to get away from our hectic schedule, just the two of us, for one night. We chose Murphin Ridge because it was only about an hour an a half from home, so far enough, but not too far. From the moment we got to Adams County it was perfectly what we were looking for. The pace is much slower here. The cabin was amazing! The grounds are beautiful. We had dinner and breakfast at the property and both were delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We definitely plan to return.
