Great Stay

5 on September 15, 2018

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Stay in a nicely refurbished railroad car was a fun and unique experience. The included breakfast was excellent, and innkeepers could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The beauty of the area speaks for itself. Our only regret was we couldn’t stay longer. Highly recommend the Red Caboose!,

Fun and Unique

So glad we made reservations to stay and will definitely go back! We stayed in the lavender caboose, and it was lovely. Beautifully decorated with so many "extras" and nice touches. Brunch in the morning was fabulous, and again, everything done so nicely. Great service as well.

Amazing Room Track #5 and Breakfast

5 on August 27, 2018

45th Anniversary Vacation Celebration in the NW was our reason to be in this area. We stayed in Track #5- theme inside: lavender and color outside:yellow; our wedding colors. My hubby surprised me with this booking- hitting it out of the park. comfy bed, jetted tub and storage for luggage so none were in few at any time.We enjoyed 3 wonderful tasty and beautiful many course breakfasts; all served hot and delicious.Variety hot and cold beverage selections served by the pleasant hostess Jaime. Leif remained in the kitchen until dessert- yes, every breakfast had a dark chocolate something served chilled on chilled plates. Jamie and Leif: thank you. We have told everyone we know, shown them our pictures and we will be back. XOXO, Jon & Jo (7/28/1973)

Truly a "getaway"

5 on August 27, 2018

Extraordinary attention to detail in the renovated ( grape escape ) caboose, coupled with the same attention applied to breakfast in the dining car along with the very welcoming hosts means an enjoyable stay in an ultra quiet setting. Close to downtown and shopping, also other places of interest in the area.

Cozy and Unique B&B

3.6 on August 27, 2018

Our stay at this B&B was fun and unique, The Grape Escape Caboose was cozy and clean. The Hosts are very friendly. The breakfast was very good, wished we had stayed another night to enjoy another breakfast! The only thing I would change would be to have arranged dinner at our Caboose to spend more time there, either a cold dinner or request use of a bbq. Looking forward to returning!

5 on August 22, 2018

We stayed in the western room, which my son loved. It is cared for down to the details. The breakfast was fabulous! Very unique and lovely place to stay.

Birthday stay

Not sure why it won't let me give 5 stars as it was in all respects.

Red Caboose Train Stop Stay

4.4 on August 16, 2018

We had a very nice stay at the Red Caboose. The breakfast alone was fabulous!! The room was super cute with much attention to details. But, the internet was down so no TV to relax with and we really missed having a shower....... but enjoyed the Jacuzzi tub! No privacy with the bathroom since the doors don't come down to the floor which felt a little ackward. But - we are glad we stopped and have good memories of our stay.

Outstanding weekend get away!

5 on August 06, 2018

From the warm welcome to the wonderfully themed caboose rooms and the unbelievably tasty four course breakfasts, it was a perfect weekend get away! If you are looking for a unique and quiet B&B, I highly recommend the Red Caboose Getaway

Pedaling through the past

As we road the Olympic Discovery Trail, the Red Caboose Getaway was a great place to stop. The unique accommodations were great and the breakfast was to die for!

Same time next year

Perfect caboose. Have stayed before. A great big antique footed bathtub in the western. Jamie and Leif are perfect hosts and perfect chefs. Miss you Olaf and Charlotte. Will be coming back for lavender festival next year.

Same time next year

5 on July 22, 2018

Stayed here again due the 4th time during the lavender festival. The caboose and food were amazing and hosts Leif and Jamie were wonderful. Miss their parents Charlotte and Olaf as well. The family makes us welcome time and time again. Same time next year.

The dining and the helpfulness of the Managers was great! the rooms were a little cramped, but they were fun and had a lot of railroad memorabilia. We locked ourselves in the room but got rescued right away by the management. We had a lot of fun and will stay again. Breakfast was out of sight!

Cute, fun, & memorable

5 on June 05, 2018

The owners were helpful without being overbearing and the breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed our stay in "The Orient Express" train car. It was clean and comfortable. It helped make a lasting memory and we plan to visit again.

Wonderful Stay!

What a unique and fun experience! Leif and his wife were very hospitable and very accommodating with our late arrival. We reserved two Cabooses, which were both very beautifully decorated. Breakfast was absolutely incredible as well. I felt like I was in a 5-star restaurant. Would highly recommend!

Unique Experience!

5 on April 25, 2018

Absolutely loved our "Grape Escape" room! Very cozy and adorable. Breakfast was incredible and set us up well for our day of hiking in Olympic National Park. Telling our friends we slept in a converted train car inspired many ooh's and ah's. This was definitely one of the most unique places we've stayed! A little tip from us: There's a winery not to far away, Olympic Cellars, grab a bottle or two from there and some nibbles from the grocery store and tuck yourselves in for the night with the fireplace.

Wonderful !

5 on April 20, 2018

This is a truly a lovely getaway. The hosts were wonderful and the accommodations and breakfast were outstanding. We will stay again and again. Thank you

I have, once again, had a fantastic time at the Red Caboose Getaway! I love staying the night in the decorated cabooses. They are warm and inviting, complete with a gas fireplace and spa tub. The gourmet breakfast served in an authentic dining car is a wonderful experience, and the food is amazing too. I have visited twice and will most likely come again! Red Caboose offers a great couples' escape.

Gotta' go again

A unique getaway

4.6 on April 04, 2018

We recently stayed two nights at the Red Caboose. We loved our caboose and our stay. Leif and Jamie were excellent hosts. They recommended several activities and places for dinner. We enjoyed all of their recommendations. We have recommended Red Caboose Getaway to several of our friends.

Unique experience

4.6 on March 23, 2018

I would call this a quirky, unique little spot! If you want luxury- it’s not for you. That said, the caboose we stayed in was very cozy and spotless. The owners are the most gracious of hosts & the Location is excellent for exploring Sequim. The breakfast was delicious and served on elegant china. All in all- a truly fun experience! I’d recommend it to anyone looking for something out of the norm!

Great Weekend

A unique and fun getaway

5 on March 18, 2018

We stayed in the circus car and enjoyed the fun decorations, whirlpool tub, comfortable bed, and opportunity to watch circus-themed DVDs. Breakfast was a highlight of our stay, with delicious food and great service, all in context of a perfect re-creation of a first class dining car. The hosts paid attention to every detail, including a souvenir menu with the current date. So glad we stayed at the Red Caboose Getaway.

Great Valentine's Day getaway

4.6 on March 14, 2018

This overnight was a surprise for my wife. She was thrilled when we pulled into the driveway and I told her it was a B & B. The Orient Express caboose was just the right mix of nostalgia and modern convenience. We watched the movie (the one starring Albert Finney). The breakfast the next morning was one of the best in my 71 years. I am not an acventurous diner but each course was absolutely great. Don't miss the second to the last if they are still serving the crepe with blueberries and whipped cream.

Great place to stay

4.8 on March 12, 2018

We had a great time, the Owners are wonderful people. It is a great place to jump over to Port Angeles for a trip to Victoria BC or anywhere along the coast for some great trails. We recommend it highly. thank you

Toot toot!!

3.4 on March 11, 2018

It is a unique B&B in the caboose accomodations, fun themes in each one. Ours was a western theme, complete with bullet holes in the windows. TV pixelated a lot. On the property is a small pond with LOTS of entertaining ducks and widgets (?). Very nice breakfast in the silver eagle club car. It was a fun stay.

Nice Getaway

5 on March 07, 2018

Cute, quaint and great breakfasts. Oh, and a jacuzzi tub in every suite.

Great place to stay!

5 on March 07, 2018

This was an amazing place to stay. It was fun to spend the night in an old railway car. We were in the lavender car, track #5. We spent only one night there for our anniversary and the owners made us feel very welcome. I had requested some chocolate covered strawberries and they were waiting for us in the mini-fridge. The owner took some time to tell me about fun things to do in the area and provided a map. The room was comfortable and clean. The jetted tub was amazing and the old time fixtures they used made it really interesting. They provide a TV with a DVD player, which worked but the way it is wired had some background hum, which for an AV Geek like me was distracting. This didn't detract from the experience enough for me to remove anything from the rating, though. Breakfast was really good. A 4 course meal for breakfast seemed like a crazy idea to me, but the portions were reasonable and the food was good. If they had done dinner too I think it would have been amazing because they chef as great. Overall a great experience and we intend to go back when the new Casino Royale car opens as that one seems super fun.

Train is leaving the station

5 on March 04, 2018

Everything about this place was great. It had You can tell it was all put together with love and is very well thought out. The couple that runs it are very nice, and from check in to check out, they were incredible. The breakfast that comes with it was. So. Damn. Good. You DO NOT want to skip breakfast. It was a nice little getaway, and I will definitely be coming back.

A great place to stay, wonderful staff and a fantastic breakfast

5 on February 28, 2018

We had never been up to the upper portion of the Olympic peninsula and decided to go to Victoria. I found a groupon discount for 2 nights and stayed for 3 nights. The rooms are all well decorated and the breakfast is fantastic. Its a great middle point for the upper portion of the peninsula as a jumping point for different adventures. We highly recommend.

Anniversary in Sequim

5 on February 28, 2018

The dining car was my favorite part of the weekend. It was beautifully decorated with fine dishes and white linens. The food was absolutely delicious and generous. The Orient Express train car was a treat to stay in. There was two seats up a level so we could catch the sunshine and relax. The large jetted tub was very nice. No shower though.

Loved it

5 on February 28, 2018

It was well worth the money to stay in one of there cabooses. We stayed in the orient expresss. Loved everything about it the jacuzzi tub was a real nice treat and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again. The service was outstanding and very friendly. The food was very exquisite. I had food that I’ve never tried and really enjoyed every bite. Can’t wait to book my next stay!

Unique experience

5 on February 22, 2018

We had everything that we needed in the room. It was unique unusual and we were well cared for. The breakfasts were outstanding and We felt like millionaires. I would highly recommend this getaway to anyone.

Caboosing in Sequim

5 on February 20, 2018

You don't need to be a train nut to love this place. A warm, cozy, imaginatively decorated caboose of your own and a fabulous breakfast served in a classic dining car. What could be nicer. Lief and Jamie are wonderful hosts. This was a Valentines getaway for us and we are already planning on returning February 2019.

Relaxation and Coziness in Sequim

4.8 on February 16, 2018

My parents recently moved to Sequim and recommended my husband and I stay here while visiting after they had such a great time here. I think they stayed under the previous owners, but our stay was just as great as my parents said it would be. The bed in the Orient Express was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Such a cozy, quiet and relaxing place, in a great location to see the sights in the area, and the owners are very nice. The breakfast was delicious - although very sweet - but definitely recommended as part of the experience. My husband has very high standards, and he loved this place (as did I). You will love it too!

4.6 on February 12, 2018

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon. We both love trains and especially old private cars so just that was enough to reel us in. We were expecting a cute little place that mostly relied on the charm of staying in the cabooses to get by; What I wasn't expecting was the high level of service and attention to detail that made Red Caboose a fantastic place to stay regardless of the gimmick. The rooms are small compared to a regular motel or hotel or B&B, but not at all lacking for comfy furnishings and little luxuries. It was perfect for our intimate, romantic stay. The breakfast part of the bed & breakfast was again, completely above and beyond in it's quality; four courses, all delightful, delicious and inventive. When you reserve your room they ask for dietary restrictions and preferences and it's obvious they take special care to take them into account. I am allergic to nuts and so a berry and walnut loaf was substituted for a nut free version, specially made for us and presented as darling little mini-muffins. I want to make special note of how much of a joy it was to interact with the two proprietors of the B&B. In particular; due to a mix-up on our part, we had to leave a day early. They offered a refund and were completely helpful and understanding. When we return to the Olympic Penninsula I will absolutely be booking us in for another stay at the Red Caboose.

Sequim Getaway

5 on February 08, 2018

Absolutely charming place. We stayed in The Orient Express. So fun to watch the movie while there. The hosts are super friendly and the breakfast is wonderful! Sequim offers tons of stuff to do also. I highly recommend the Red Caboose Getaway!

Great visit at Caboose Getaway

5 on January 24, 2018

We are repeat visitors to the cabooses- we were not disappointed. The weather was bad, but we were warm, cozy and happy. The breakfast is 4 star. Be sure to visit Olympic Game Farm while there- take lots of bread. Our weekend at the cabooses was just wonderful!

Wonderful experience!

5 on January 18, 2018

Beautiful B&B. Room was clean and spacious. Loved the fireplace and jetted tub. Breakfast was amazing!!! The owners were great hosts and very welcoming. Loved having breakfast overlooking the duck pond.

Romance on the Rails

4.6 on January 18, 2018

What a wonderful getaway for unusual lodging adventures. The food was wonderful, as was the service. The couple who handled things were polite, friendly, and made breakfast feel like we truly were in the Dining Car for the Orient Express. Upscale crystal and china with linen napkins made even the coffee taste better. Although the coffee was actually my only culinary complaint (Seattle has so much good coffee that it was a shame to not taste something rich in the pretty teacup). They made up for it though with the most delicious orange glazed pull apart and perfect mini quiche. The rooms vary caboose to caboose so I can only tell you what ours was like. The bed was extremely comfortable though we did have a hard time regulating the heat because it was pretty cold outside. If I liked baths, there was a beautiful jacuzzi tub ensuite. It was laid out beautifully, and the refinished original floors were beautiful too. If romance is your getaway idea this is a winner...but don't choose the clown car (Circus theme) if you are afraid of clowns. I'd go again for sure but I'd pick one of the cars that have a shower in them. Keep up the good work ...this was a great home base to explore Sequim and Port Townsend.

Must do experience!

5 on January 10, 2018

I gifted my husband an overnight with the Red Caboose Getaway and wished i had done at least two nights! Lots of fun with the on-spot decor of authentic train memorabilia! Breakfast was amazing!!! OMG that is the best breakfast ever!! Just say yes and stay overnight!! Thank you Lief and Jamie for a wonderful experience.

Wonderful Stay!

5 on January 07, 2018

We spent one night in the Western caboose and had an absolutely wonderful time. The caboose was comfortable, very well appointed, and a lot of fun! The four-course breakfast was excellent and the service was fantastic, too. I highly recommend staying here.

Orient Express

3.6 on January 05, 2018

Everything was awesome especially the Owners. Excellent service friendly people. Only downfall is the drippy ceiling in the toilet room and of course that we chose to come in the winter instead of summer because we have a feeling we would to come visit in the summertime. David and Michelle

anniversary get away

4.8 on January 04, 2018

we drove to this fantastic setting of a round house style park where everything was literally picture perfect from the ducks on the pond to the full aluminum dining car. It was an extremely comfortable room with an endless supply of hot water for the huge copper soaker tub. Breakfast was an experience we won't forget for a long time, form the freshly squeezed juice to the baked banana the entire meal was perfect.

A fantastic getaway!

5 on December 29, 2017

We stayed one night in the western-themed caboose and it was fantastic! The theming was great and even included a selection of western-themed movies and a refrigerator that looked like safe. We also appreciated the coffee pot in room. Be aware that the cabooses with bathtubs do not have separate showers (but that wasn't a problem for us). The four-course breakfast in the dining car was excellent and the service was superb. I highly recommend staying here!

Orient Express car and dining car perfect for us

5 on December 21, 2017

We asked if we could get married there during our weekend getaway to the bed and breakfast. The owners were so helpful with our needs for our wedding day. The Orient Express car was extremely nice as was the dining car.....and the breakfast was absolutely wonderful! I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast as a destination spot!

Wonderful experience.

4.8 on December 04, 2017

We were celebrating our 51st anniversary and decided to try something a little different. We enjoyed the western style caboose for two nights. Breakfast was extra special in the Silver Eagle with chef Leif at the helm and his sidekick, Jamie, doing her magic. Great meal and service. We have already recommended this stopover to others. Thanks for a great time. Jim and Connie

Parents 50th wedding anniversay moon weekend getaway

5 on October 25, 2017

My siblings and I got together and planned our parents 50th wedding anniversary moon weekend at Red Caboose Getaway. When I purchased there caboose I was hopeful that they would have a good time. I did not expect to hear so much excitement in my mothers voice when she called me from her caboose to tell me how wonderful everything was. My mom told me that they have never experienced any thing like this in the 50 years that they have been married. She said the caboose was plush and very romantic. She also told me about the wonderful breakfast they had every morning that was as she said "cooked by a chef like the ones you see on TV". When my parents got back home they couldn't stop talking about how thankful they were to have had such a wonderful weekend. i am very thankful for my parents and their better than expected weekend at Red Caboose Getaways. I hope to take my husband there on one of our anniversaries. Thank you for service we appreciate you Charlotte & Olaf.

One of the Highlights of our 3 Month Trip

5 on October 24, 2017

We loved our stay at the Red Caboose Getaway-- it was comfortable, unique, and just the thing for my husband the engineer (the mechanical kind, not the train kind). The owners definitely ran the place with love, and they took extra care with breakfasts that truly felt like a special treat in an old-style railway dining car. Even though we were the only ones there for one of the nights, we still got the full breakfast treatment-- and they went above and beyond to accommodate my very strict dietary requirements. Our "Lavender" Caboose had lots of nice touches like chocolate on the pillows, wine glasses in the room, and battery "candles" (because real ones would be a fire hazard). Our room had a jetted tub which was nice-- but do be warned that this caboose has only the tub, not a shower too. That was fine with us, but if a shower is essential for you-- pick a different caboose. Along with modern touches like tv, a fridge, and that tub-- the historic nature of the caboose was preserved-- right down to leaving in a bunch of the original pipes and ladders up to the cupolas. Not sure if we'll find ourselves in Sequim again, but if we do the Red Caboose Getaway would be our very first choice for accommodations.

Very Accomodating

4.4 on October 23, 2017

We were bringing a Port Angeles (where the Crabfest was in full swing) ferry back late from Victoria so Olaf honored our request for a late check in and made it easy for us to check in. Thoroughly enjoyed all the train themed items in our caboose plus cozy robes and welcoming chocolates. Unique comfortable fun stay. Excellent, first class, breakfast serving many local food items. Portions were just the right size so one could enjoy all the courses.

Birthday Getaway

4.2 on October 22, 2017

What a fun experience. The breakfast which was included in the price was fabulous! I would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a unique experience, like my train loving hubby!

Such a fun getaway!

5 on October 11, 2017

We had a great stay here! The couple that runs this is friendly and accommodating. The caboose we stayed in was great, We plan on trying another caboose next time we are staying in the area! It was a nice quiet property with ducks and song birds. The breakfast was delicious and varied each day.

Food is amazing, Caboose is awesome!

4.6 on October 10, 2017

The food blew my mind. Every bit as good as the famous chef's in Seattle and New York. The caboose was delightful!! My husband and I look forward to staying in every single one! We will be getting my parent's a gift card for a night. This is a hometown treasure and it's time they experienced the creativity!

Life on the Tracks

4.6 on October 01, 2017

Really enjoyed our trip to the past when travel was by rail. We stayed in Casey Jones Caboose, explored the historical room decor and gained an appreciation for the hard work of the caboose operator. Every detail exhibited authenticity. Dining car breakfast was memorable with great conversation among other guests.

Loved the Caboose

5 on September 27, 2017

Our stay at the Red Caboose Getaway was a delight. Leif and Jamie were delightful hosts. Leif shines as a wonderful chief and Jaime makes you feel like family. We will return.

Caboose Delight

5 on September 18, 2017

Loved the caboose layout and the cupola for watching sunrise and sunsets. Breakfast is a superb taste delight. Thank you for the great stay.

Unique fun stay

4.8 on September 17, 2017

I had booked this B&B as a surprise for my friends traveling with me. They were so surprised when we pulled up to cabooses! Our friends were in Casey Jones and loved all the RR memorabilia. We enjoyed the lavender car. We had videos with a lavender theme and music CDs which we put on and felt a million miles from anywhere. I loved sitting up in the cupola reading and watching the world go by. The breakfast was as good as other reviewers have stated. Olaf showed us inside some of the other cars which we really enjoyed. He is a wealth of information! The only suggestion I would offer them is to tidy up the area around the cabooses. Landscaping could use some attention. All in all a wonderful stay!!

Best Getaway Ever!!

5 on September 14, 2017

Our stay at this incredible and unique getaway was fantastic! Amazing caboose rooms with different themes for each one. They were better in person than on the website! The owners were sweet and wonderful about accommodating my food allergies. The food was outstanding with herbs and berries from the property. I highly recommend staying here! We are already planning our next weekend away at the Red Caboose Getaway.

Amazing place to stay!

5 on September 07, 2017

My husband and I went to celebrate his birthday, our baby on the way and our recent wedding! The room was even better than the pictures. Staff gave excellent dinner recommendation and had up to date information on the current town happenings. Breakfast was my favorite part! 4 course meal served in the elegant dining car! The coffee was local and kept flowing. Not a single detail was missed. Quiet and adult only place. A great location to relax and if you are lucky you'll pick a room with a big jet tub!

Fun Getaway at the Red Caboose

4.4 on September 07, 2017

My husband and I stayed at the Red Caboose as part of our anniversary celebration. We rode in from Port Angeles on the Olympic Discovery trail. The Red Caboose Getaway is conveniently located right off the trail. We enjoyed our stay very much apart from the Caboose not having A/C. It was a very hot day and the fan we had in there did nothing to help. Wifi didn't work as well. Breakfast was amazing. Definitely the best breakfast we had ever had at any B&B.

5 on September 06, 2017

I took my wife here for her birthday celebration and wow I got some major points with my wife lol! The unique atmosphere of the themed bnb coupled with the privacy of each individual caboose made for an absolutely amazing getaway (watching the sunset in the upper part of a caboose was pretty neat for my wife especially). The original owners are retiring and son and his wife are taking over... Their customer service and personalities are a much welcome change in an overal rude world! And the food! Man can that guy cook! If you stay here you will eat some absolutely delicious AND beautiful plates of food. Food, customer service, peaceful atmosphere there was nothing lacking. A must go and my wife and I will be going once or wife a year.

What fun this was

3.8 on September 06, 2017

Had a very fun time here and we stayed in the Circus Caboose. As I laid in the Jazzuzi I closed my eyes and could hear circus music. The breakfast was the very best I have ever had 4 course at that. Elegant and good. The host are there for you to refer you to there little town of great food and things to do. We will be back I want to stay in all of them. Thank you for sharing your little fun cabooses with us. Loved it

A unique getaway in the trains

3.6 on September 05, 2017

Staying at the Red Caboose was a great addition to visiting the lavender farms in August of 2017. We are a young couple in our early 20's and found that there wasn't much to explore in Sequim past 5 PM as the stores closed early. However, the Red Caboose was a great place to relax and enjoy each other's companies. Upon arrival, Olaf greeted and walked us to our room. My boyfriend and I were both in awe at how well designed the room was. We stayed in the western caboose and it truly stuck to its theme. This is the most unique bed and breakfast I've ever stayed at. Though the accommodation was lovely, the onsite dining was a little lacking. The food that was served during our stay was very sweet. We were expecting a little more savory. However, I appreciated that all ingredients were local. It was a nice touch. I'd still recommend others to stay, but be wary that this may be a bit pricey for some people.

Excellent Hospitality at a Unique Getaway

4.8 on September 03, 2017

The Red Caboose was a great way to start our explorations of the Olympic Peninsula. We were impressed with the way every detail inside the caboose was considered with such care. And breakfast was truly exceptional, with blackberries from the property! The proprietors were welcoming and showed us great hospitality. We didn't have much time to explore Sequim, but did spend an evening at the marina on the bay nearby, enjoying the view and eating a delicious meal at the dockside restaurant there.

I love staying at the Red Caboose!

5 on August 30, 2017

The beds are comfortable, the stay is unique, and the breakfast is to die for. I highly recommend a stay here.

Casey Jones Caboose

We had a wonderful stay, the caboose was charming and very comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely divine. Highly recommend!

Unique and Spectacular!

5 on August 19, 2017

My sister referred me to this unique and whimsical B&B... and am I EVER GLAD SHE DID! What a fantastic night we had in "The Western". Every nook and cranny was filled with a fun western artifact. What a complete and total labour of love! Breakfast was astonishing and definitely a major,, almost theatrical, affair. Olaf and Charlotte laid out a thoughtful, delicious menu, and served it in a style that is a throwback to another era. I wish I had worn more formal attire. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The only thing I would suggest is a common outdoor area for the guests to meet one another if they so chose. A wonderful B&B experience. Thank you!!!!!!

Great getaway, happy to return!

4.2 on August 16, 2017

My husband and I spent our wedding night at the Red Caboose Getaway previously, and just returned to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We stayed in the Grape Escape this time and overall had a lovely time. Olaf and Charlotte are delightful and the food (as before) was incredible beyond expectation. My husband had a dietary restriction that they did a fantastic job working around it and providing amazing options for him. The only sad note to our stay is that we noticed since our previous visit things are falling a bit into disrepair. Nothing was totally rundown or anything, but it's time for some updates and a little more upkeep that I'm sure it's becoming difficult for the owners to keep up with. We heard that their son will be taking on the business soon and we are hoping that his addition will help breathe some renewed life into this amazing and unique retreat. We had a great trip and hope to be able to return for our 10 year anniversary as well.

Can't wait to go back!

4.8 on August 15, 2017

Everything was wonderful except the Wifi! The owners are friendly and informative, the rooms are fun and comfortable, the dining car is as authentic and lovely as the food!

The Red Caboose Getaway was a wonderful and unique overnight. The owners have created a one of a kind experience. Sleeping in a beautifully and creatively redecorated caboose was very enjoyable. Breakfast in the dining car was a culinary delight! Train themed music, friendly and attentive service, a chance to meet and chat with the other guests while enjoying an outstanding breakfast, was the perfect way to begin our day in Sequim. I would love to stay again and I recommend it to anyone looking for a new and different experience in vacation lodging.

One of the best and most unique in the world

5 on August 09, 2017

Phenomenal service - room, supplies, and advice. Beautiful decorum and attention to detail - name tags, uniforms, table settings, furnishings and rooms. The food was 5 star meals - and even more appreciated, made custom for my diet, vegan and gluten free. The 2nd night I couldn't make breakfast due to being on a mountain and they graciously made a special exception to package it for my partner. Hers was warm but mine was spectacular even later in the day. I love trains. I love bed&brealfasts. And home made gourmet meals - garden fresh. Having been to B&Bs all over the country and the world, there's nothing like this one and worth the trip and effort!

Great place to stay

4.4 on August 08, 2017

We loved our stay. Very unique B&B - nice private rooms (each caboose is like a private "cabin", physically separated from the others), awesome breakfast, excellent service. Would definitely recommend it, and plan to visit again.

Another Perfect Stay

5 on July 30, 2017

Another fantastic stay and great breakfast. The Grape Escape has two very comfortable beds. The copper tub is unique. The traveller is greeted with a welcoming fireplace - that did not put out heat in July - just provided an ambience. Breakfast was amazing again. The only comment I could make is that it would be better if the laundrey detergent used on the linens could be non scented, then everything would be perfect. Very clean. Amazing experience. The owners are personable and remember unique things about likes and dislikes for a year. That is really incredible.

Fabulous and Fun

5 on July 29, 2017

Charlotte and Olaf had a wonderful idea with the Red Caboose and it was outstanding. The extra little details in our caboose where all over the place and the food was 6 star. We plan on coming back again and again to stay in each of the cabooses and enjoy the culinary surprises that will be served.

Quaint, quirky, and delightful!

5 on July 27, 2017

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The caboose was beautifully decorated, and the breakfast was to die for! The service was excellent as well. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Unique place to stay

5 on July 26, 2017

The owners are so terrific, knowledgeable and personable. They take great pride in what they do and do everything superbly. This was our 2nd stay and we can't wait to keep going back until we have stayed in every caboose since they are all different. We talk it up to all our family and friends. Great accommodations, great food, great people, a unique and memorable place that always satisfies 100%.

Outstanding cabooses

5 on July 23, 2017

I spent three nights in the BN Circus caboose in mid-July 2017, and loved every minute of it. Olaf has invested tremendous energy into decorating each caboose with a different theme, and finding the decorating essentials to create cabooses that cover circus, western, wine, and other themes. I felt that a key feature of my caboose was the privacy I enjoyed, since I did not have neighbors on the other side of a wall. I did not have to be concerned if I was bothering my neighbors with TV or anything else, nor did I hear them. A marvelous experience was breakfast in the Burlington diner. Not only was it a treat to eat in a diner that actually ran on the Zephyr routes on the Burlington RR, but also Charlotte creates amazingly delicious breakfasts. The ambience is terrific, and both Olaf and Charlotte go out of their way to make all the guests feel comfortable. I am looking forward to returning several times to experience the different themed cabooses. I highly recommend finding a way to spend time at the Red Caboose Getaway - and more than one night would be richly rewarding.

Innkeeper Response
It was fun building the Red Caboose Getaway B&B but the real reward is having our guests(friends) enjoying it. A-L-L...A-B-O-A-R-D !, Stationmaster Olaf.

All aboard!!

4.8 on July 23, 2017

Our weekend getaway was such a treat spent relaxing in the vintage luxury of the Orient Express. After a challenging bike ride from Victoria BC Canada, via the Coho, the huge jetted tub was very welcome! The caboose was so beautifully decorated with the theme to the last detail with objects from the actual Orient Express and posters of the movie, Murder on the Orient Express- as well as the actual DVD to watch! Very comfortable bed and lovely linens made for a restful sleep. We loved the classic dining car with fine china and crystal on which we were served an elegant four course breakfast. The individual printed menu for our day was a lovely touch. All in all it was a wonderful time and hosts Charlotte and Olaf are to be commended for bringing this fantasy to life. Highly recommended!

Unique adventure

4.6 on July 19, 2017

Original caboose. Odolf very knowledgeable about the railroad and answers all questions. The 4 course breakfast was outstanding! Not the usual. Charlotte and Odolf were outstanding hosts.

Loved the Caboose!

4.4 on July 19, 2017

My spouse and I stayed in the lavender themed caboose in July. It was an eclectic place for our anniversary. Olaf, and wife, Charlotte, were gracious hosts. Olaf greeted us, explained the local area, sites and restaurants to dine at. It was helpful. The setting with the other cabooses was close to town and John Wayne Marina where we had dinner one night. The room was comfortable except a mattress that could be replaced. If you want a shower, there is none in the room. The cupola gives you a nice view from the top of the caboose and provided a welcome breeze when the temperature got warmer. The two breakfasts were very good and enjoyed eating the vintage dining car. A memorable experience and weekend.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for the kind words and valuable input. For Track # 5 we elected to have a relaxing 2 person whirlpool tub instead of a "rush to work" shower. Even though the mattress is only 2 years old we are looking at replacing it with a more firm one.

Party of 4

4.8 on July 15, 2017

On a bike trip through North West Washington, we stayed at the Red Caboose. The accommodation was fabulous. We all really enjoyed our rooms. They were cozy, had a coffee machine and fireplace and great old rustic charm. The breakfast was delicious and they accommodated my Paleo diet. We will go back.

Wonderful experience!

5 on July 12, 2017

We had a wonderful experience staying in the "Grape Escape" caboose. I would highly recommend it. There were even DVD's available to watch that matched the theme of the room. The enormous tub was a real pleasure and the breakfast was outstanding. 10+ stars all the way around. R & R, Omak, WA

All Aboard!!

4.8 on July 12, 2017

This was a delightful and charming place to stay for an overnight retreat into an older era of train travel. The Orient Express Caboose was done in theme to a T. Beautiful mementoes of the actual train, and posters of the movie "Murder on the Orient Express"; not to mention the actual movie available to enjoy! the grounds are beautifully kept with rambling English style plantings of Shasta daisies, roses and other lovely blooms. We slept very soundly in the comfy queen size bed after a long, hot soak in the jetted tub. The Dining car was also a treat as the menu of the day was printed in high quality card and inks - no shortcuts were taken - on either the presentation or the content and quality of the servings. Beautifully prepared and presented on linen, fine china and crystal with all the old time class and attention to detail. Our needs were anticipated and met with flourish! Highly recommend staying here with hosts Olaf and Charlotte.

Great place to stay with gracious host

4.8 on July 12, 2017

Stayed here and enjoyed every minute. A real change of pace from the normal overnight stay. The breakfast was excellent. Will stay again when back in the area. Thank you Olaf & Charlotte for welcoming our entire group.

Superb Customer Service

5 on July 06, 2017

We spent our vacation hiking the National Parks in Washington. As a surprise, I booked us one night at the Red Caboose. What a wise decision that was. Our stay was one of the top highlights of our trip. Olaf and Charlotte have customer service perfected. The room was clean, the bed slept well, and the food was amazing. You think your stay is great and then you experience the dining car and it sends greatness over the top. I would fly from Georgia to Washington just to stay here again.

Great Little Getaway

4.2 on July 05, 2017

The caboose we stayed in was so cute. Loved the authentic details. We really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was fabulous. Loved the dining car.

Best atmosphere and gourmet Breakfast

5 on June 29, 2017

Highly recommend this place for a unique stay. The breakfast in a 1930 vintage Silver Eagle is an experience I'll never forget. Over the years the log books were kept in the caboose. Review after review was extremely positive. I couldn't find one entry that was negative even a negative comment. Olaf and Charlotte have tapped into the into something special with their concept.

Best stay ever

4.8 on May 06, 2017

The pictures on their website do not do them justice. I stayed in the western room (caboose) and it was so much cuter than it looked online. Olaf is amazing! Best customer service ever! The breakfast was HUGE and delicious. Faciest breakfast I have ever had.

We had a fantastic time. It was a very pleasant place to stay and nostalgic. I remember getting to play in train cabooses at museums and it brought back some fun memories. Olaf and Charlotte are very gracious people.

A unique and inviting getaway at Red Caboose

4.6 on November 15, 2016

My wife and I stayed a night in the Lavender themed yellow caboose. The bed was comfortable, the caboose was cozy and the jetted tub romantic. In the morning we were treated to a delicious 4 course breakfast during which the owner/host visited with us at our table. We found him to be friendly and engaging, and we really enjoyed talking with him about the history of the B&B. Don't expect plush luxurious accommodations, but you can count on plenty of cozy comfort and authenticity in a unique setting. We will be back.

Great place

5 on November 14, 2016

Fun, place. Obviously lots of love went into creating it. We will be back.

Nothing like this place around

5 on November 13, 2016

The Red Caboose Getaway is easily our favorite place in the Northwest. The breakfasts that Charlotte creates are exceptional and always make us excited to see what she comes up with next. Olaf's knowledge of his railway cars and fine attention to detail put the whole place over the top. With a strong focus on the fun and whimsical approach to the B&B scene, the Red Caboose delivers a great experience across the board. Love this place and will return many times over. We only have one car left to have stayed in them all. You can't go wrong staying here, ever.

5 on November 08, 2016

We stayed at the grape escape and it was wonderful. The room was perfect and the the breakfast was unique and fantastic. Olaf and charlettle always made sure if everything to our liking. On a whole I would recommend this to anyone.

Birthday Celebration

4.8 on November 03, 2016

I was able to pull off the surprise of a lifetime for my husband's birthday. He has always loved trains and while we traveled one time on the train for a vacation, I was not thrilled with it. This was my way of giving him the chance to sleep on a train and knew that I didn't have to feel the rails under me! We loved the themed trains and chose to spend our time in the Orient Express. The Jacuzzi tub was just what we needed to end a day of driving. The gas stove gave warmth throughout the car and the breakfast.... AMAZING! I had read in the reviews about the breakfast but could not have imagined it being this fabulous! Charlotte and Olaf were wonderful hosts and we so enjoyed talking to them while we were having breakfast. We had been asked about allergies and things that we could not eat but never thought of the one food that can't be taken with a specific medication my husband takes. He declined one of the courses as soon as he realized that he could not have that with his meds and within minutes, he had another "option" delivered to the table. We certainly were not expecting that. You won't be disappointed if you have a day or two at the Red Caboose Getaway in Sequim. I think we might go back and stay in the Grape Express next time!

One for our bucket list! Better than we could have imagined!

5 on October 25, 2016

We wanted to stay in a caboose as we teach for a railcar class and travel the United States. Who would have thought that this is the best one in the U.S! Wow! A fantastic setting of several themed cabooses to choose from, all reasonably priced and every detail was thought out. From the softest bed, to the jacuzzi tub, robes, fireplace, themed movies, darling use of the captain chairs and ability to utilize the toilet area inside the caboose. It seemed as though we had stepped back in time. The best part was the breakfast! In a Zepher dining car! Beautifully and meticulously decorated, china, linen tablecloths, and Olaf, our waiter. His wife is a gormet chef who prepared a 5 course, mouth watering breakfast, with all the trimmings. We felt as though we were in 1st class all the way!

5 on October 14, 2016

A wonderful experience in the Western caboose! A truly once in a lifetime experience and well worth the money spent. The caboose was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated and very well and thoughtfully restored. The breakfast was delicious and Charlotte and Olaf were welcoming hosts! You will not regret spending part of your holiday here!

So wonderful

Had a wonderful stay in the Casey Jones! Our room was cozy and even included a basket of freshly picked fruit which we thoroughly enjoyed. The dining car was next door and the breakfast was fabulous! We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful meal and service, which included a nice view of the duck pond.

The personal touch

4.8 on September 26, 2016

We spent two nights at the Red Caboose Getaway and were thoroughly happy. Each caboose has a different theme interior, though they are all pretty cool. We stayed in the "grape escape" car which had a wine motif, and our host showed us through several other cars, and gave us the tour of all the little details. It was great fun. Breakfast is different every day and is phenomenal. They have a dining car where breakfast is served with white linen, china and nice period music. It was a gourmet experience. We love it and HIGHLY recommend it!

Such a wonderful and unique B&B experience!

4.8 on September 13, 2016

The Red Caboose is amazing... All the details were thought by Olaf and Charlotte to make these cabooses beautiful, very comfortable, and so unique!

The little caboose that could!

4.6 on August 19, 2016

We had a wonderful stay at the Red Caboose Getaway. Our caboose, The Western, was charming, filled with fascinating memorabilia and utterly unique. The bed was comfortable, we loved the claw-foot bathtub and everything we needed was available. Sitting in the engineers chairs with a glass of wine and a good book was a real highlight. As was the breakfast the next morning. Wow! That was something special. The dining car is a beautiful vintage piece with fine linens and china, period decorations, and fresh flowers. The food was amazing. Really, amazing! One of the best meals we had on our holiday. I'll be making the baked bananas next time I want to impress my guests! The owners, Charlotte and Olaf, were lovely, friendly, knowledgeable people who tolerated our endless questions with patience and grace :) We always look for places that differ from the boring standard hotel/motel and this place fit the bill! We are looking forward to coming back for a long weekend and highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast.

An amazing experience all around!

A memorable stay. We'll never forget the time we overnighted in our cozy caboos

4.6 on August 06, 2016

We really enjoyed our stay and wished that we could have stayed longer. The host were very warm and welcoming. The breakfasts were terrific. Eating in the dining car in the morning reminded me of the time , many years ago, I traveled with my parents to Florida, watching the world go by, while having grits and eggs.

5 on July 21, 2016

I already left a review on some site, but now have the opportunity that came on email to review again. This is fantastic, and I wished we could have stayed more than one night.

What a wonderful and unique place

4.0 on July 19, 2016

Upon arrival we were met and shown to our caboose. It surpassed our expectations. As we had cycled to the location from Port Angeles we were given directions to great restaurants and other sites to cycle to. We were also kindly loaned a tarp to keep our bikes dry for our morning ride to our next destination. The breakfast was lovely and we had what we could not finish wrapped up for a snack on the road. We would not hesitate to recommend the Red Caboose or to stay again on our next trip along the Olympic Discovery Trail.

Amazing accomodation & dining

4.6 on July 19, 2016

This is an amazing place. Old railway caboose units converted to boutique accomodation, sounds a little odd but infact works incredibly well. Each unit has it's own theme - we stayed in the "Western". Breakfast was "to die for and really defies description, you must try it for yourself. Olaf's interest and knowledge of American railway history really shows through. Highly recommended. AP. London. UK

Completely wonderful!

5 on July 01, 2016

Our stay at the Red Caboose was absolutely outstanding. Right off we knew it was was going to be amazing since our family is train obsessed and have ways wanted to stay in cabooses. We have 5 people, so we needed two cabooses. We stayed in the Grape Escape (which accommodates 3) and the Orient Express. The detail and creativity that our hosts had put into making each "room" beautiful and unique was greatly appreciated. However, this B and B is so much more than a bunch of old train cars. The cabooses were emaculate and comfortable with beautiful bathtubs and comfortable beds. The four course breakfast in the dining car was incredibly special. We were unprepared for how wonderful it would be. The food was delicious and catered appropriately to our vegetarian children. Charlotte and Olaf were charming as is their exquisite dining car. Our whole stay was incredible--definitely the highlight of our trip to Olympic National Park.

I will stay again

4.0 on June 22, 2016

Stayed 2 nights. The railroad cars were a bit rustic. But hey, they are original, old, and are exactly as promised. Besides. It was fun. As To service, it was great. It's just Olaf and Charlotte, the owners were exceptionally personable and helpful. Breakfast? Wow. I've stayed in some pretty upscale places and have never had been fed a meal that nice. It'll take days to get back on our diet. The food, coffee, and beverages were 5 stars easily. I'd stay there again.

Birthday Getaway

3.6 on June 07, 2016

This was a surprise getaway for my husbands birthday. This was unique and fun. The breakfast was incredible, outstanding, and amazing! Olaf also gave us a tour of those cabooses that were not occupied, impressive to theme and decor. Olaf and Charlotte are the original owners who purchased property and made this B&B happen 16 years ago, we found out.

Special Anniversary

4.4 on June 06, 2016

We had a great time celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary. I loved how our caboose was themed. My favorite part was the jetted tub. The breakfast was beyond what we imagined it would be like. They really go the extra mile. We will deffinetly be staying here again!!!

A Grape Escape, Indeed!

5 on June 02, 2016

What an incredible stay in the Red Caboose Getaway! Perched on tracks in the center of an immaculately manicured property, the cabooses are brightly painted and obviously tended with loving hands. Inside our wine-country themed caboose ("The Grape Escape"), we discovered many amenities that transformed our "escape-the-stress-of-life" weekend into an "I-feel-amazingly-refreshed!" weekend. From bubble bath to a fully-stocked coffee/tea station, this hideaway didn't disappoint. One of our favorite thoughtful details was the cleverly curated collection of wine-themed DVDs, from which we enjoyed Bottleshock, starring Alan Rickman. The 5-course breakfast in the Zephyr dining car was deliciously inventive - no menu cliche's here! - and had us saying "wow!" at each course. We especially enjoyed the many framed, antique dining car menus lining the walls - a glimpse into yesteryear. If you enjoy unique accommodations that spark the imagination, but don't want to skimp on traditional comforts, then the Red Caboose Getaway is the place for you.

5 on May 29, 2016

We have recommended this B&B to all of our friends and family. You will love your stay!!!

Red Caboose Sequim Weekend Stay

4.2 on May 04, 2016

My husband and I stayed at the Red Caboose getaway in the 'western caboose'. It was so charming. Every little detail was thought of, from bedside chocolates to western themed DVDs to watch. The bed was comfortable and we awoke to birds singing and frogs croaking in the center pond. The breakfast was amazing - 3 courses plus little 'desert' bite. We are already thinking of who else we can take there this year - and when we can stay again! NOTE: they do not take kids younger than 12 years.

Excellent Stay!

5 on April 27, 2016

My husband and I stayed in the Lavender Limited car of the Red Caboose Getaway and we had a great time. The car was charming and cute. There was more room inside than we had expected, also very clean. The breakfast, all four courses of it, was delicious. I'm lactose-intolerant and they were able to accommodate my food allergy with no problems. We would definitely go back. Highly recommend!

I stayed here 5 years ago and want to again.

5 on April 09, 2016

The breakfast and the accommodations were outstanding.

So Much Fun!

4.0 on March 26, 2016

First off id like to note that the app would not let me give 5 stars on the review categories otherwise I would've across the board. So now for the Red Caboose Getaway... We absolutely loved it! The caboose's were really really cool! And the accommodations were fantastic. My fiancee and I stayed in the "Grape Escape". It was wonderful! Very comfortable, quiet and extremely unique. The location is great as well. They're close enough to town for convienance, but also Just off the path enough to make you feel as tho your away from society. The breakfast they serve is second to none! Hands down the best I've ever had. They also have a small pond with a bunch of ducks. We fed them a little wheat bread in the mornings.( very fun) All together this place makes for a very memorable trip. Charlotte and Olaf are wonderful folks that clearly take pride in what they do and it reflects in the getaway. Altogether I give the expirance an 11 out of 10. It's very unique and a great change vs the general hotel type stay. Go to the Red Caboose Getaway!!!!!

The most fun and unique B & B!

5 on March 12, 2016

This B & B is the most original we have seen. The food and service are top notch, the property is beautiful and the caboose offers a level of privacy that is not available at a standard B & B.

Our Train Trip

5 on March 03, 2016

This year, my husband and I stayed in The Orient Express rail car at the Red Caboose B&B. Everything was perfect during our stay. The bed was large and comfy; the hot tub, roomy and bubbly and with soft towels and robes to use afterwards; the DVD selections were old movies with excellent plots; everything was clean--even up top where we sat in chairs overlooking the duck pond and could watch the waterfowls' antics. As for breakfast, Charlotte proved to be a true chef by the way everything was prepared and one's palate pleasured. And Olaf? He served us with a wide smile and engagingly, told us some fine tales of his and Charlotte's adventures running a B&B. DO give this one a try! -Morris and Sharon

Perfect Weekend Getaway

3.8 on March 02, 2016

My husband is very resistant to B&Bs, but this one had trains! He had a blast talking with the proprietor about the various railway cars. He was even impressed with the western decor in our caboose. It was comfy, cozy, clean, and filled with amusing little touches. The dining car (yes, a real one from 1934) was amazing - beautiful linens, china and silver. The food was three courses of gastronomic adventure - fare that I have never seen an any other B&B. We will definitely be back, and my husband won't whine about it.

Once in a lifetime

Caboose funn original

5 on February 21, 2016

We had a wonderful time .We will gladly return. The caboose was cozy and decorated with original railroad memorabilia. We were given an interesting history tour of the railroad cars onsite. An amazing stay

5 on September 01, 2015

My wife and I stayed in the Casey Jones caboose and can't say enough good things about it. The caboose was very comfortable as well as fun and quirky as you might imagine. Every detail about the place, from the decoration to the music during breakfast was well thought out and perfectly placed. The highlight as you might have guessed from other reviews was the breakfast. I have never had such an amazing breakfast.....ever. The service was 5 star level and the food was even beyond that. From the website the place looks great, but the photos don't remotely do it justice. It's far better in person. The only downside is that it was at the beginning of our trip so has set expectations too high for the rest of the vacation!

Anniversary Ride

5 on August 13, 2015

My husband loves trains so I surprised him with a 2 night stay for our anniversary in the Orient Express. The caboose was comfortable, wonderful two person Jacuzzi tub, valet stand and fridge with cold bottled water and chocolate. The 4 course breakfast was incredible, far exceeded our expectations. Some dishes we savored for the first time and now want the recipe. Charlotte and Olaf are beautiful friendly folks, and are passionate about their small town, providing a map and marking the best sights to see, places to shop and eat.

Really fun experience

5 on August 10, 2015

My husband and I stayed in the Western caboose at Red Caboose Getaway. I had a really tough time finding an affordable place for 1 night on an August weekend in the Sequim/Port Angeles area. Most B and B's in the area have a 2 night minimum during this peak season, and chain hotels were also very expensive with all of the weekend festivals in the area. Our experience at Red Caboose was really fun, affordable, and accommodating. The Western is decorated to the theme and included lots of western movie DVD's as well. The room features small swinging saloon doors into the bathroom, so if you need absolute privacy for bathing, you may want to choose a different space. The claw foot tub is really fun though, and the toilet is in it's own private stall. Since there is no air conditioning, the room was very warm when we arrived in the afternoon, but it cooled down as the evening progressed and the sun set. By the time we went to sleep, the temperature was very comfortable. The setting is lovely with a duckpond and lavender bushes, and the breakfast was the best we've ever had at a B and B. The dining car is very cool, and you feel as if you're transported to a time when people enjoyed full dining experiences during train travel. The food and service were amazing. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic place to stay!

4.6 on August 05, 2015

We booked the Casey Jones caboose for a two night stay. Check-in at 4:30pm was smooth and very personable thanks to Olaf (one of the owners) who gave us a quick tour of the grounds and our caboose. Recommendations for lunch and dinner were "spot-on" and no need for breakfast recommendations except "don't be late". Not a problem for us as the well appointed dining car (from 1937) was a mere 5 feet from our caboose. Breakfast was unbelievable, a four course gourmet treat. The whole stay must really be experienced. Our pleasure just kept growing and growing. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend RCG to those we care about.

Best little b&b in Sequim

4.8 on May 25, 2015

I took my son here for his 12th birthday and it was a perfect choice! We stayed in the Grape Escape and it was lovely. The copper soaking tub is fantastic! Breakfast in the dining car was really the highlight though. Olaf and his wife were so friendly and welcoming. Thank you so much!

completely charming

4.8 on May 25, 2015

The Orient Express is completely charming. And breakfast in the restored 1937 dining car was deluxe in every sense of the word! Thank you to Olaf and Charlotte!

Exceeded our expectations in every way, thank you!

5 on May 25, 2015

Everything was Perfect! Only thing I would suggest would be a more reasonable cancellation policy, sometimes things happen that make it impossible to plan a month out. Probably would have a lot more bookings with maybe a one or two week policy instead of a month. Thank you Olaf and Chalolette for a wonderful experience.ppo?jcc

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for the kind review. We have reviewed our cancellation policy and have shortened the time to 2 weeks. Thank you for your suggestion. A-L-L......A-B-O-A-R-D !! Thank you, Stationmaster Olaf.

Weekend getaway

5 on May 20, 2015

Such a great, fun, and unique place to stay. Skip the traditional hotel and book the Red Caboose! Not only was the bed one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in but breakfast one of the best we have ever had. Charlotte and Olaf take amazing pride in their BnB and it shows. We will be sure to stay here again on our next trip to the Olympic National Park area

Our lovely weekend

5 on May 17, 2015

The food served for breakfast is way above anything we have had at other bed and breakfast places. The uniqueness of the caboose rooms is fun and amazing. We have stayed there three times. Our favorite was The Grape Escape. The Orient Express and Lavender were also very nice rooms. Olaf and Charlotte are great peoples to talk with also. Being able to watch the ducklings in the pond was an added bonus.

Such a nice change!

4.0 on May 13, 2015

The breakfast in the 1937 dining car was outstanding. The white tablecloths, the handsome waiter, and the FOOD. The breakfast was expertly prepared and beautifully presented. As if spending the night in an authentic caboose wasn't enough, the morning meal was another highlight of the experience.

R&R : Rest & Relaxation

5 on May 11, 2015

Immerse yourself in a restful and unique experience. The caboose room was fabulous. The attention to detail was truly enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious. I only stayed one night, but would have loved to have stayed longer. This is a First Class experience you should not overlook.

Lovely Stay

5 on May 06, 2015

We have a lovely stay and the proprietors of the establishment are extremely pleasant and helpful. Food was absolutely delicious and changes every day. Cabooses are done up very nicely. I would definitely recommend staying.

Gorgeous environment, wonderful service, and delicious breakfast!

Amazing breakfast, fantastic themed caboose with such thought and attention to detail. Couldn't have been improved.

Neat Experience!

3.8 on April 15, 2015

The stay at the Red Caboose was very fun!. We stayed in the western-themed caboose and I enjoyed looking at all the different treasures the owners had found to decorate. It was a neat experience. The breakfast was A MAZE ing. Not only was the food A++++, but we really enjoyed talking with Olaf, the owner about the area and trains. It was just a really neat experience!

Unique Experience

5 on April 09, 2015

Stayed here of a unique experience for my wife's birthday, Great concept very relaxing atmosphere. Charlotte and Olaf are great hosts. We've never had such an elegant breakfast. We will plan another weekend getaway trip.

5 on April 07, 2015

Everything you want when staying away from home: comfort, cleanliness, quiet, privacy, and great food!

Elegant B & B

5 on April 01, 2015

The purpose of our weekend at the Red Caboose B & B was meant to be memorable. The Caboose rather than a motel/hotel option was ideal because of the privacy plus the bed was extra comfy. But the bonus of the B & B was the elegant serving of the breakfast. The china table settings plus the silver dinnerware and each unique serving piece. Very, very elegant!! Each of the four servings were presently as in a very high class and expensive restaurant. One felt very unique and "wealthy" to have the special attention in the Burlington Zephyr dining car. The entire weekend was a special treat to always be remembered!

5 on March 14, 2015

This was our second stay and we just love it. The dining and service is outstanding and we recommend it to everyone we know.

Train Trip.

We went for our wedding aniversary and really enjoyed it.

Stupendous Experience

4.8 on March 02, 2015

My husband and I went tot he Red Caboose B &B because we liked the idea of staying in a train car and wanted something not too far from home. We live in WA, and have passed the RC B&B several times. We chose to stay in the Great Escape, the winery themed train. It was beautiful, clean and very thoughtfully decorated, not overdone. We loved the little perks: the chocolates, the mini fridge placed in a wine barrel, the HUGE soaking tub, the heated tile floors in the tub area, the wi-fi, the electric fireplace and the tasteful wineries decor. Our welcome was very warm and we were shown our room and even given an exterior tour of the other trains, along with description of two trains that were yet to be renovated. We slept well on the very comfortable bed. The town of Sequim is quiet and not very awake on a Sunday morning, but just a little further are the mountains and bigger towns. It was nice to not have a lot of noise by the trains, so the serene atmosphere was pleasant. The three course breakfast was one of my favorite things about our stay. It was fabulous. Both my husband and I loved the local roast coffee, the hand prepared juice, the delicious and creative courses and the to die for fresh baked bread. We cannot say enough to recommend this wonderful, creative over-night adventure. Try it out for your next vacation, possibly when the lavender fields start to bloom!

Take a ride on the oriental express

5 on March 02, 2015

We loved our stay at the Red caboose getaway... It was an experience to remember. The attention to detail was amazing. We were thankful to Olaf in Charlotte for such an outstanding dinning car meal... The two person tub, the real flowers, the cozy fire place... We cant wait to take another ride. It was a one night stay to get away from our normal lives, it was so quite and relaxing... We LOVED it!

Great experience - best breakfast ever!

4.4 on March 01, 2015

It was wonderful. Stayed in the Orient Express. Olaf and Charlotte were great. Charlotte is an amazing chef. Maybe the best breakfast I've ever had! The room was amazing, my only complaint is it got a little cold at night. But they provided plenty of blankets, and it was winter after all. Loved the Jacuzzi tub, and the DVDs they provided.

Lovely unique getaway

5 on February 19, 2015

Had a lovely time in the "Western" caboose. Owners were friendly and knowledgeable about the area and breakfast was fantastic!

What a wonderful experience

4.6 on January 23, 2015

My wife and I visited Red Caboose last fall. We were blown away by Olaf the friendly conductor who showed us around the rail yard. Everything is authentically restored. The breakfast was the quality dining of years gone by, candle lit breakfast table and lots of wonderful breakfast surprises, delicious! I loved the wild west Caboose, I think next time we will stay in the Orient Express. Thanks Olaf and Charlotte

An experience not so to forget

5 on January 17, 2015

We see the RCG is for sale, sad day. If you get a chance to have Olaf and his wife host your stay, please do so. We stayed a few years ago, it is an experience we tell all our friends, a memory we talk about all the time and will never forget.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your kind review. While we have immensely enjoyed building our place and entertaining our guests( friends) the last 15 years it's gotten more than this 71 year old can handle. it's time to turn the throttle over to new hands. Stationmaster Olaf

Sleeping on a vintage caboose should be on everyone's Bucket List especially if it is in wonderful Sequim, WA! Olaf and Charlotte are commended for making our 2 night stay a special memory. I will recommend Red Caboose Getaway to all who find themselves in the Pacific NW.

Fun setting for anyone, but especially for a railroad buff. Beautifully appointed cabooses. Great breakfast in the dining car really set the experience apart.

Riding on track #9 - a 5-star experience..

5 on October 21, 2014

Riding on track #9 was OUTSTANDING!!! The accommodations were not only comfortable, cozy but unique! Chef Charlotte prepared delicious and healthy breakfast served in an elegant dining car. Station Manager Olaf served us with attention to our every need. Highly recommend you experience the Red Caboose. Thanks Olaf and Charlotte for making this a favorite on our "bucket list"! All Aboard for a 5-star experience!

5 on October 09, 2014

The caboose was such a delight to stay in, the bed was cozy, the fireplace on created a romantic atmosphere, and the soaker tub for 2 was so relaxing I found myself falling asleep. The breakfasts are the most amazing breakfasts we have ever had, you will leave so full you will end up back in your caboose for a little rest to try to digest!! Charlotte and Olaf went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, catering to dietary restrictions, and providing delicious fruit grown in their orchard in our room!

Breakfast to live for ! Delicious !

4.2 on October 08, 2014

The Red Caboose Getaway was a great place to celebrate our anniversary. Stayed in the Lavender caboose, the tub was heavenly.. The breakfast made by our hosts was to live another day for, very delicious, took into account our needs, would recommend for a getaway, that's different..

Staying on a caboose was just perfect

4.8 on September 29, 2014

The accommodation was over the top, but the innkeepers and the quality of the breakfasts was just way over the top. Great stay, and we would recommend to anyone looking for a very different stay in Sequim.

Unique B&B

5 on September 27, 2014

We read about the Red Caboose Getaway in Sunset Magazine so we decided to spend a night. What a great experience and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting an unique place to stay. We want to return to the Red Caboose Getaway and bring our bikes to ride the Olympic Discovery Trail nearby.

Romance in a Caboose!

4.8 on September 25, 2014

This was our second stay at the Red Caboose and we love it! Charlotte and Olaf go out of their way to be sure everything is great. The rooms are adorable and breakfast is always a culinary delight! I only wish the bathroom had a handheld shower along with the tub.

Magical stay in circus-themed caboose

4.6 on September 20, 2014

Olaf and Charlotte have done a remarkable job restoring and decorating the train cars. Late check in was easy as the key was left for us. In the circus-themed train, there were magnetic letters spelling our names to welcome us. Jet tub was a hit. Breakfast in the dining car the next morning was the highlight. Thank you Olaf and Charlotte!

Highly Recommended!

4.8 on September 14, 2014

What a fun place to stay! We really enjoyed the Oriental Express. The food was phenomenal and one of the best breakfasts we've had. The hosts were very friendly and the service was great!

Very unique b&b

4.6 on September 10, 2014

You get to stay in your own caboose! Definitely the most unique b&b we've ever stayed in. My husband and I stayed just one night for our anniversary. The owners are exceptionally friendly and the 4 course breakfast was delicious and very filling! The cabooses are all decorated with lots of attention to detail in different themes. We stayed in the orient express. It had everything we needed. The only thing that would stop me from staying here for a longer time is the lack of shower or at least if the faucet in the bath was one that pulled out so you could use it like a shower. There was a large bath jacuzzi. The location is about 1 mile from the town of sequim with restaurants and shops, Reasonable drive to port Angeles and olympic national park. If you like trains the owner is very knowledgeable. Overall a very enjoyable stay,

All Aboard Track 9!

4.6 on September 07, 2014

My husband and I stayed in the Grape Escape for one night over the Labor Day weekend and absolutely loved it. Olaf is a wonderful host and walked us through our caboose and its amenities after we checked in. The caboose itself was more spacious than most with a full size couch that folded out into a double bed, alongside the bed. The copper slipper tub was amazing and much appreciated after a day on the road. Note that there isn't a shower in this caboose, however. There is a hand-held shower attachment in the tub, but it's not a regular stand-up shower by any means. The WC/toilet is small, but serviceable. The tub is barely concealed from the rest of the caboose by a glass panel, so I would not recommend staying in this caboose with anyone you're not comfortable being naked around (unless you can work out an elaborate bathing schedule where your fellow travelers occupy themselves somewhere else while you bathe). The breakfast in the dining car was truly amazing. THE best breakfast I've ever had at a B&B, EVER. Hand's down. Fresh and local was the highlight, plus you can make special requests if you have allergies or food sensitivities when you make your reservation. The best part: No kids allowed. A truly unique, kitschy, peaceful and wonderful place to stay. I HIGHLY recommend it.

4.8 on September 06, 2014

Everything about this was simply fantastic. It was clean. The food was great. The jacuzzi bath was great. The friendliness of the owners was beyond compare. My partner and I were simply blown away. We plan to return again and try more of the caboose/rooms.

Unique Setting, First Class All the Way

5 on August 31, 2014

We loved spending a night in our private, western theme caboose. Attention was paid to every detail and we hope one day to return and stay in another of these wonderful cabooses! Breakfast, served in the antique train dining car, was absolutely wonderful. Charlotte and Olaf provided first class service in all aspects of our stay. We highly recommend this unique getaway.

Not just for Train Lovers ......

4.4 on August 30, 2014

I have always loved trains and this was a great opportunity to stay in such a unique environment. The cabooses were private and provided an overnight stay like no other. The whole experience was very enjoyable and the food and hosts were amazing.

Great place to stay and great people!

Red Caboose is Great!!

4.8 on August 21, 2014

This is a very unique B&B. Glad we went. I am not a train enthusiast, but I am fascinated with history in general. I would enthusiastically recommend a stay here. My wife and I are already talking about our next visit. Rooms - awesome. For a reworked caboose and a fascinating piece of history, I think they are a 5 out of 5, but as compared to a plushly carpeted room with big screen TV and overstuffed recliners, not so much. Not running them down, I loved it. Lets just be honest, it is a train car. Bed is very comfortable, tub was fantastic. It is hard to rate this as compared to a regular B&B. Service - could not be better. Value - once again, how do you compare the value something as unique as this? Cleanliness - could not be better Dining - WOW!!!! Great experience. "We serve breakfast to our first class passengers promptly at 8:30, and we do not serve a second class breakfast!" I love it! Excellent cuisine, awesome service! Thank you for the history.

Unique and enjoyable. Breakfast was out of this world.

Just an overnight stay thst was very peasureable.

5 on August 18, 2014

Olaf & Charlotte were very courteous. Our stay was a complete and unique experience that will not soon be forgotten. Olaf was very knowledgeable willing to answer any questions we asked and was filled with history. We plan on staying at the RCG the next time we're in Sequim to see Hurricane Ridge. Thank you for a wonderful and unique stay. Rick Danioth & Katie Zipp

Simply the best!

This place is worth going out of your way to experience. My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed the stay. It's just too bad we didn't say longer.

Delightful stay in a charmingly wacky circus themed caboose

4.8 on August 14, 2014

Having driven by this place for years, I'd always wanted to stay here, and when we finally did it was every bit as much fun as I expected. My boyfriend thought we were going to some lace-covered pillow Victorian B & B, (yawn) so it was a fun surprise for him too. The breakfast was hearty and great, and Olaf and his wife shared a lot of their experiences acquiring and renovating the cabooses and dining car.

RCG Overnight

5 on August 11, 2014

My granddaughter was delighted with our stay at the RCG. She loved it and gave each of her parents (one at a time) a tour of the Casey Jones and the exterior via her I-pad. She'd like to return and stay in each of the other cabooses or would that be caboose.

Charming and unique stay

4.4 on August 06, 2014

We recently made a weekend visit to Sequim for a bicycling weekend, and after some poking around the interweb found Red Caboose. It seemed like fun, and there weren't a whole lot of options in Sequim, so we went ahead and booked. My wife and I both came away very impressed. Olaf has done a great job in concept and execution. Our caboose (Grapes something) was very charming, beautifully outfitted, and comfortable. Olaf was the consummate host, full of information and obviously very enthusiastic about his business. We enjoyed the privacy and amenities offered by the concept, liked learning about the history of both the train cars and his business, and breakfast was awesome:) We've had bed and "breakfast" meals which were basically coffee and pastries...not here! Perfect fueling stop before a long day on our bikes. It didn't hurt that the weather was beautiful, his restaurant recommendation (Dockside) was perfect, and that the riding was great....but Red Caboose certainly contributed. We are headed back again next year, and will stay here again.

Unique and Wonderful

4.8 on August 06, 2014

I was worried that the gimmick would interfere with comfort. I thought 'how comfortable can one be in an old rail car'? I was wrong. The attention to detail in both decor and comfort were outstanding. The elegant breakfast (5 courses served on linen tablecloth and real china) was the crowning touch along with Olaf's stories about how it all happened. My husband, the engineer, was really impressed with the fact that all utility connections were underground and how difficult it would have been to run them into the cabooses.

Great place to stay!

4.8 on August 04, 2014

Very unique and a great place to stay. Caboose was very clean and the food was wonderful. The owner clearly loves what he does and the details make the whole experience.

one night in Lavender

5 on July 25, 2014

We Love Trains!

4.8 on July 20, 2014

We heard about Red Caboose Getaway on TV. We always ride trains where ever we go so we thought this would be a neat place to stay. We were right! We chose the Western caboose, complete with bullet holes in the windows, swinging door to the bath and all the John Wayne movies yoiu can handle. The bed was comfortable and the fog came in during the night and cooled us down wonderfully. The breakfast was all the anyone could ask for. Four courses and the food was wonderful. Olaf and Charlotte are fine hosts. We didn't see much of Charlotte except at breakfast but Olaf was full of information and enthusiam. We really injoyed our time there and would recommend it to all our friends (we already have!).

It is as great as it sounds!

4.6 on July 16, 2014

My wife and I have stayed here twice. Once in the Circus room, and once in the Orient Express. We love the themes. The only thing I would add to either room is a removable shower head for washing hair. Olaf and Charlotte definitely work hard to make it an enjoyable experience. The pond and all the ducks definitely add to a scenic and fun place. The breakfasts are classy, artful, and extremely delicious!

Always Perfect

5 on July 08, 2014

Our second time here. Perfect. And delicious!

All aboard

5 on June 28, 2014

We came to sequin looking to do something different with our friends. I suggested staying in a caboose vs. a hotel for some fun. Visiting the red caboose getaway was amazingly fun. We stayed in the Casey jones caboose and our friends stayed in the lavender limited. We loved our rooms. I would have never imaged that the train would have a very comfortable bed. I slept like a log in deep slumber. The details that Olaf has come up with in each room shows that he truly puts a lot of effort into the caboose. It was also really nice that all the cabooses weren't linked together. They all had there own little sections surrounding the duck pond with their own parking spot and little sitting area. Breakfast next morning was SUPER amazing! Charlotte is amazing in the kitchen. Hearing that Charlotte wakes up at 4am to start making breakfast made me feel like she put in a lot of care to detail. Seeing inside the silver bullet made me feel like I was special. The feeling like you were in a five star resturant. Coming back home made me miss charlottes cooking very much. We will come back again for sure.

great service and delicious breakfast!

Olaf was friendly and had the room available for us when we came in. Breakfast was amazing and all homemade. Very cool train caboose idea.

Red Caboose Sequim

We go every year and stay in a different themed caboose

Awesome Experience!

4.8 on June 22, 2014

I don't usually write reviews, but I decided to write one because we had such a great experience at the Red Caboose Getaway and I want others to be able to experience as well. First of all, the idea of staying in your own themed caboose is so much fun! We stayed in the Western and the decor was definitely in the style of the living in the Old West. Additionally, breakfast was delicious and all of the personal touches Olaf and Charlotte add makes it even better. They were very accommodating to account for allergies and/or food preferences. Even though we really enjoyed staying in the Western caboose, I hope to return soon to experience another caboose!

Grape Escape Getaway

5 on June 20, 2014

This is a wonderful place. We were amazed by the attention to detail and the creativity. Olaf and Charlotte are wonderful hosts. I think this was the best breakfast we have ever had at a B&B. We also loved the pond and birdfeeders. We hope to return.

Great time.

5 on June 11, 2014

We had the best time. Olaf and Charlotte are fabulous and they have created a wonderful place to stay and enjoy.

Great experience!

4.6 on June 05, 2014

Olaf and Charlotte seem to really enjoy what they do. They are so pleasant and gracious. The first morning we were not going to be there for breakfast so they put together a sack breakfast to take with us. They are very accommodating and great people. The four course breakfast in their dining car is amazing. They put a lot of thought into what they provide and change the menu every day. Such a wonderful experience. We will be back! :-)

Awesome and Authentec

4.8 on June 03, 2014

We stayed in the western caboose and were totally amazed at the attention to detail. Charlotte and Olaf were the best innkeepers; very friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast was definitely 5 Star. I enjoyed the oversized claw tub. We will return again to stay in the upcoming Vegas theme.

one night stay

4.4 on May 08, 2014

I took my boyfriend here for our two year anniversary, and everything was lovely except for the hosts. We felt like we were judged unfairly simply because we are a younger couple, (in our twenties). They were both polite but seemed curt and suspicious. There was another couple in the dining cart with us for breakfast, and Olaf and Charlotte were noticeably friendlier towards them, even though they were late for the meal. We were both well mannered and clean, dressed nicely, etc. There was no reason for us to have been treated that way.

Fantastic B&B

5 on May 03, 2014

This was our second time staying here and definitely will stay again. Our goal is to stay in every one of the Cabooses.

Red Caboose Extroadinaire

4.8 on April 27, 2014

For anyone who is the least bit interested in trains, this is a must stay place. Olaf and his wife, Charlotte, have restored several old cabooses, each with a different theme. Be sure to ask for a tour of the cars as they are just delightful. The cars are artfully arranged around a small pond at the quiet end of Sequim. The bed was very comfortable and the fresh flower touches added to the ambiance. Breakfast, in a 1937 dining car, was outstanding! Be aware that there is only one caboose with a standup shower as the rest either have jacuzzi tubs or tubs with handheld showers. Thick terry robes were available for our use. Olaf and Charlotte were very warm and welcoming. This was a unique experience and we would certainly return the next time we visit the Olympic Peninsula. P. Fiaccone

Something different!

Not your ordinary B & B staying in a converted caboose! This was great fun and a very different experience for us - we loved it! Also the best breakfast of a 6 day trip!

Lovely place to stay!!!

4.8 on April 23, 2014

This was a great adventure! Sleeping in a caboose that is quiet, clean and comfy is an experience I am so glad I got to have. We stayed in the western themed caboose and the decoarations were perfect! The breakfast was outstanding and Olaf and Charlotte made us feel like family. Highly recommended!

My favorite B&B!

5 on April 17, 2014

My husband and I have been going to the Red Caboose Getaway since 2006. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the food is up there with the best you'll ever eat anywhere, the service is wonderful and Charlotte and Olaf are just lovely people in general. A stay at the Red Caboose Getaway is a wonderful all around B&B experience, especially for train enthusiasts and those nostalgic for times gone by.

A completely unique B&B!!!! Beautifully done!

5 on March 23, 2014

We had a lovely stay and incredible breakfast and just enjoyed every aspect of this unique place. They have left as much intact as possible inside the train cars but turned it into a gorgeous room with all the amenities you could ask for, even a gas fireplace. Thank you for the lovely memory.

Wonderful stay even if you aren't a train buff!

5 on March 09, 2014

I took my brother and his wife here because he loves trains. I on the other hand, like comfortable stays and great breakfasts. Everyone was happy! My room had a small gas fireplace to keep the caboose cozy on a very rainy night. Our bathroom had a large jetted tub for relaxing. Of course we had a flat screen and WiFi. What made our stay truly special were all the little details Olaf has added to each caboose. He stays true to each theme, adding special touches to each car. Breakfast was elegant in the beautiful dining car, right down to the china. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. The warm orange pull-apart bread was to die for and our breakfast ended with chocolate covered strawberries! I would choose Red Caboose again. It is perfect for a romantic getaway and is close to Sequim and Port Angeles.

Red Caboose/Orient Express

5 on March 01, 2014

We just had the pleasure of spending our 22 Anniversary at the Red Caboose in the Orient Express. Stationmaster Olaf greeted us and gave us a personalized tour. We enjoyed the history and his love of trains. We were able to watch and feed the ducks in the duck pond. The Dining Car was elegant and Olaf & Charlotte served a 4 course breakfast that was the best we've ever had. It was very romantic and a memorable experience. We will definitely plan another trip. We've stayed a lot of places through the years, and this is very high on our list as one of the best! We are recommending this to all our friends.

We all loved the Red Caboose Getaway!

5 on February 26, 2014

My husband and I took my brother, a train buff and his wife to Red Caboose Getaway. Olaf was so helpful and knowledgable about trains and their history. Our cabooses were roomy, very clean, and filled with special details. The Grape Escape was spacious and the soaking tub was so special. Breakfast in the dining car was like stepping back in time. Olaf has certainly created an elegant breakfast served in a beautiful vintage dining car. The food and ambience were delightful. I cannot wait to return and check out the other cabooses!

If you like trains and a whimsical environment, with good food and great staff: hop aboard.

Great adventure, will do this again.

4.6 on February 18, 2014

Had a great time, will do it again for sure. Close to town and walking distance to the discovery trail, a wonderful treat. The breakfast was defiantly a treat, nice 4 course and service was right on the money.

Fantastic Visit!

4.4 on November 27, 2013

Olaf introduces himself and gave us a map of the area and some great dining reccommedations! Gave us a tour of all the cabooses and their history. The next day Charlotte made us a fantastic 4 course breakfast, minus the peppers I don't like. It was all in a Art Deco period dining car. Awesome!!!!!!! It was such a personal detail to attention that made it wonderful. Can't wait to go back, just have to figure out which caboose is next, so many choices. Thank you to Charlotte and Olaf, fantastic hosts!!!

Caboose was lovingly appointed.

5 on November 27, 2013

We stayed in the Grape Escape themed caboose. The interior was beautifuly done.

Thank you for you hospitality

5 on November 24, 2013

Best place we've stayed by far. We celebrated our one year anniversary there, and it trumped our honeymoon. Olaf greeted us, and showed us our room personally. His excitment and enthusiasm for trains is infectious, and his cabooses' (we stayed in Casey Jones) decor is well executed. It was warm, homey, and the decor was natural, minimal, and historical. The breakfast was a delight. It felt like we'd gone back in time, and Charlotte served us the most beautiful, tasty, home-made five course meal we ever had. Charlotte even made a point to ensure everything I ate was dairy free, a service one rarely receives. Olaf and Charlotte have a true gift for hospitality. It is well worth a stay! We hope to return, and have already recommended it our friends and family.

Perfect for our babymoon!

5 on November 16, 2013

We had an amazing time at the Red Caboose getaway. We stayed in the lavender room. It was perfect. I would highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast to anyone, whether or not you are a train fanatic.

Adventure on the rails....

5 on November 13, 2013

A very unique experience! Each caboose is different and fun in its own right. Olaf, the Stationmaster and his wife, Charlotte are wonderful hosts and make you feel at home. The food was exceptional!!!! We look forward to our next visit.

Stunning and wonderful breakfast

4.8 on November 06, 2013

The friend who recommended this B&B called the breakfast "life changing." Accurate! Staying in a themed caboose itself is remarkably charming and unique. Olaf and Charlotte pay keen attention to little details that make a visit perfect.

4.4 on November 04, 2013

A wonderful breakfast and a fun place to stay.

Absolutely Wonderful

5 on November 03, 2013

We were made to feel very special and welcomed the whole time we were there. The caboose was elegantly decorated to depict the times of the western era. The breakfast every morning was to die for. Our Hosts were absolutely wonderful in making the stay fabulous. We have recommended this B&B to everyone we know.

Love The Red Caboose

5 on October 29, 2013

We had a great stay. Olaf & Charlotte are magnificent hosts. They had great tips on places to eat and things to do. We Will Be Back.

An Amazing Experience

5 on October 28, 2013

Olaf and Charlotte are excellent hosts. I liked the fact that each train was self contained (no sharing bathrooms). Such attention to detail in each train, we stayed in the lavender and loved it. The breakfast each morning set your whole day, how wonderfully delicious! My palate is not the same. We can't wait to go back!

Overnight in a train!

5 on October 24, 2013

Wonderful experience! Great property, great food and great hosts! How often can u sleep in your own train? Definitely a must stay property!

2.8 on October 16, 2013

it was a change from the everyday routine. the caboose idea is great but I think more detail is needed to the outside appearance of the property and caboose's the Breakfast needs to have more substance to it as well.

Innkeeper Response
We are sorry that our 4 course gourmet breakfast elegantly served in our private dining car did not satisfy this guest. We have added 3 new cabooses which are undergoing renovations. Stationmaster Olaf

Red Caboose Getaway B&B is the BEST

5 on September 20, 2013

This is our second time at the Red Caboose Getaway B&B, and certainly won't be the last. We have now stayed in the "Orient Express" and the "Lavender Theme" cabooses. They both were wonderful, including a two person Jacuzzi tub! The breakfast in the beautifully restored 1934(?) dinning car is so lovely, and the food is Five Star rating! She is so accommodating, even made my husband an amazing gluten free meal. Olaf is so gracious, friendly and very knowledgeable train enthusiast. It is so peaceful and private. We love it.

A night away

4.4 on September 17, 2013

They should get rid of the Circus theme. The caboose bed-and-breakfast was awesome. The breakfast was above first-class dining! The owner was great he even played in character while serving breakfast and checking you in.

A wonderfully unique experience

5 on September 16, 2013

We so enjoyed our stay in the Casey Jones Caboose. Olaf and Charlotte were fabulous hosts - knowledgeable, witty, and authentic. The four course breakfast was fabulous. The highlight of our trip to WA.

Awesome Stay

5 on August 29, 2013

Accommodations were way beyond my expectations. Caboose's are cozy, fun, and romantic. Gourmet breakfast was fa-nominal!

All Aboard! A marvelous getaway.

5 on August 29, 2013

Unique and a must for train aficionados, and the breakfast is to die for! We wanted to try something 'different', and the Red Caboose more than filled the bill. When we checked in Olaf shared a little about the caboose we would be in, then collected an ancient key and gave us a detailed tour of our caboose - the Casey Jones. Walls covered with memorabilia, a stack of train-related movies on DVD, a mini fridge with bottled water nicely chilled and the most comfortable bed... Olaf knows all the places to eat and can recommend according to your interest. I was directed to a nearby lane lined on both sides with blackberry bushes, where I quickly picked all that I could eat! Breakfast is served in an old dining car, and was a four course affair, all First Class - fine china, snowy linens, and a meal guaranteed to delight. After breakfast we were given a tour of all of the cabooses (we were the only ones there) and quickly resolved to return enough times so we could stay in every one of the cabooses!

Cyclists dream train

4.4 on August 26, 2013

Quaint, cosy and very comfortable. Spectacular breakfast, friendly hosts. We will definitely return. The Red Caboose is right on the beautiful Olympic Discovery Trail, which we navigated from Port Angeles. this is a journey that I would recommend to all cyclists

An experience of a lifetime

4.4 on August 26, 2013

A wonderful experience, Olaf was very knowledgeable when it comes to trains and Charlotte makes a mean breakfast using local fresh berries. Dietary needs were met and as I filled them out and were confirmed by Olaf on check in.

A unique experience.

5 on August 25, 2013

Olaf does an outstanding job as Conductor at check in to waiter for the incredible breakfast in the luxury dining car. We enjoyed our stay greatly. The gourmet breakfast was wonderful, served with perfected elegance. The caboose fun to stay in. Clearly a labor of love, the attention to detail was impressive.

Care and Attention to Detail Outstanding

4.6 on August 23, 2013

Had a wonderful stay. Very clean, quiet, fun, the tub on the orient express was to "die for", and the meal was exceptional. Service and attention to detail shows as coming from a family that has a passion for the place. Recommend. Surrounding area very fun to explore wish we had another night to stay.

4.8 on August 20, 2013

This my 3rd visit and they never let me down...I do girlfriend getaway weekends... we shop, we watch movies, we go to the local winery.... The weather is great!! They are always so wonderful to me and remember things about me... I'm planning my next adventure, by myself...

The Grape Escape

5 on August 15, 2013

The Room: You step into another world where every item is a collector's piece and an enhancement of the theme. Even the DVDs are relevant, esp. the very entertaining "Bottle Shock." The Breakfast: Four outstanding courses in an Art Deco setting. Vegetarian? No problem. The offerings are only slightly reworked and stay just as wonderful. The only thing missing is the clickity-clack.of the wheels. If you want to be whisked away from it all to another place and time, the Red Caboose will do that for you, in style.

Incredible Journey

4.8 on August 14, 2013

What an incredible experience. We stayed in the Orient Express and loved every minute of it. Charlotte and Olaf were exceptional hosts and knew the area very well - be sure to get their recommendations for restaurants in the area. The accomodations were superb - where else can you stay in a real caboose??? The breakfast was beyond any expectaions we had - excellent doesn't even fully describe the experience. The food and the atmosphere were incredible. We're looking forward to a return visit so we can try another caboose.

The stay was more than we could of dreamed. The breakfast was 5 star, unique and delish! Would recommend to all ans will definitly stay again.

Quirky but fun

4.6 on August 04, 2013

This was our second stay at the RCG, and in the Casey Jones caboose. This caboose, like all of them, is a bit space-limited and has a queen bed, which can be an adjustment if you really want a king, But it was comfortable in a cozy way and well temperature-regulated. The only misgivings we had with this unit were the lack of a tub (corner shower instead), and a redundant sink which makes the toilet room VERY cramped (and unusable for big people.) Breakfast in the dining car was exceptionally good, served by the owners with a personal touch. Even if you're not a railroading buff, this is a unique B-&-B.

Great caboose, outstanding breakfast.

5 on August 04, 2013

Cabooses whimsically restored by a train lover with an eye for detail. The four course breakfast is up there in our top three B & B experiences.

2nd Awesome experience!

5 on August 03, 2013

We had stayed here before several years ago and love it then and loved it once again! Olaf and his family are incredible hosts and are very friendly and informative about the area.

Worth every penny.

5 on August 01, 2013

This was our first bed and breakfast experience. Loved the privacy of the individual cars. The food was amazing. Loved every minute of our stay and wish we could have stayed longer.

A Great Getaway

4.0 on July 29, 2013

The interior of the caboose was outstanding. We had a nice quiet stay. The breakfast that Olaf provided for us was wonderful. I'm sure we will be back next year !

Wonderful and SO charming!

4.8 on July 28, 2013

We stayed in the "Western" caboose and it was charming down to the boots on the floor. The lavender soap was lovely and the sheets smelled so nice. The dining car was dressed impeccably and the food was delicious and elegantly presented.

Unique and fun experience!

5 on July 22, 2013

We have passed by the cabooses since they first started to bring them in, and only recently discovered that it was a B & B. With a family reunion in the area my wife and I decided to give it a try, and we were very glad we did. The 4 course breakfast in the dining car was amazing, and staying in a caboose was just great fun. They have done a fantastic job of restoring them. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Our 2nd Ride on the Orient Express - Still AWESOME!

5 on July 15, 2013

We spent another wonderful weekend at the Red Caboose Getaway, again in the Orient Express Caboose. Charlotte and Olaf are absolutely wonderful hosts and the food for breakfast is to die for! An added plus is always having a menu to take home as a momento. Ducks in the pond, birds at the feeders, sunshine and blue sky! What an amazing place to kick back and relax for a long weekend. Can't wait for our next "ride"!

A Great Getaway

5 on July 10, 2013

We stayed in the Lavender Limited on 8 July 2013 and the Grape Escape on 9 July 2013 and had a great time. We really enjoyed both nights. Olaf's vivid imagination, dedication, and hard work have really given these old cabooses new lives. Each has it's own theme carried out through all the decor right down to the selection of DVDs supplied in each caboose (examples: The Lavender Hill Mob, and The Grapes of Wrath). Breakfast, served in a period dining car, was a special treat. We'll be talking about our stay for quite some time and will definitely recommend The Red Caboose Getaway to any of our friends who are looking for a special time away from home.

review of Red Caboose Getaway

5 on July 10, 2013

We enjoyed a weekend away on the Olympic Peninsula, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Red Caboose. The caboose was so much fun, and the breakfast served by owners Olaf and Charlotte was utterly delicious. The guest book in the caboose was written in by many returning visitors, and I can see why--we can hardly wait for our next visit!

Great idea

4.2 on July 10, 2013

A novel concept that extends the typical bed and breakfast.

Review of Red Caboose Getaway stay

4.6 on July 08, 2013

Stayed in car next to dining car. Accomodations comfortable and clean, unique experience but a little pricey ($175+).

Fun trip

5 on July 08, 2013

The caboose are very unique and restored to an excellent condition. The service and food in the dining car was wonderful. Fun getaway.

Wonderful and Unique!

4.8 on July 07, 2013

We used a Groupon and basically received half off our 2 night stay. Even if we didn't receive half off, it would be worth it! The breakfast was a amazing! If you are wanting a "light in calorie" breakfast, don't bother! The cabooses were immaculate, and had everything we needed. Wonderful stay.

We Love Red Caboose Getaway

4.8 on July 07, 2013

this was much more than we expected. The caboose was great and very comfortable. Very fun to climb up to the conductor chairs. The breakfast for both days was incredible and the dining car setting was delightful. We enjoyed it and have told all our friends, you must go here!

Start of honeymoon....

4.6 on July 05, 2013

We had a wonderful stay at the Red Caboose, the first night of our honeymoon week. The attention to detail was wonderful, Olaf was so helpful in directing us to a good restaurant for dinner and Charlotte's breakfast was incredible. What a fun way to start our marriage!

31st anniversary gift to hubby

5 on July 05, 2013

This was a gift stay for my husband who is a train nut. We loved it! Service was great. Lots to see in the area. We will be back.

Make a memory!

4.4 on July 04, 2013

Staying at the Red Caboose Getaway is much more than just crashing somewhere for the night. The themed cabooses show attention to detail in every nook and cranny, and the proprietors maintain an atmosphere in which we felt like both honored guests and a longtime friends. You will leave this place knowing a little more about American RR history and also what a first class breakfast is like (its amazing, btw). Note: our stay included a very warm day (upper 80s F) and we were concerned that the caboose wouldn't cool down in the evening (there was no A/C in our caboose), but we needn't have been concerned - there are plenty of windows in the cabooses and an in-room fan which helped to cool our room quickly.

Fun and Unique!

3.8 on July 04, 2013

Such a fun experience to stay in an old caboose! The best part was the dining car where we were served a wonderful gourmet breakfast each morning. Proximity to Olympic Mountain range also a plus!

Awesome Bed & Breakfast Experience in the Red Caboose Lavender Caboose

5 on July 04, 2013

The Red Caboose is a husband and wife run Bed & Breakfast. Everything about the Red Caboose was exceptional. Each caboose is theme decorated. We stayed in the Lavender decorated caboose. Olaf took us to our caboose and told us everything about its history. He showed us important operation tips. He is very knowledgable about the history of each caboose on his property. My husband loves trains, so it was perfect for us. Breakfast was served in the dining car that was set up just like a dining car on an operational train. The breakfast was a memorable experience. Charlotte prepared a gourmet breakfast that was top chef quality. Her attention to the presentation of the meal was exceptional. Breakfast was served by Olaf. He was dressed in perfect dining car attire. Olaf has a great sense of humor which is well suited for his Bed & Breakfast business. My only regret is that that we didn't stay two nights. Our 2nd Ride on The Orient Express

5 on July 03, 2013

This was our 2nd time at Red Caboose Getaway and it is as amazing and wonderful as before. Olaf & Charlotte are a wonderful couple and she is a super great cook. The breakfasts in the 1930s era dining car are always a very special affair, with white linens, crystal and china - and served with a flair by Olaf. Ducks in the pond, birds at the feeders, comfortably appointed cabooses all add to the great experience here. The Orient Express caboose has a wonderful jetted tub - perfect after a hike on Hurricane Ridge or the Dungeness Spit. We highly recommend this B&B - it is a unique and special experience.

Lovely Getaway

4.8 on June 30, 2013

Very quaint and you feel like a part of history. You are in a caboose, not a five star hotel. You need to experience it to enjoy the quaintness. The breakfast is fantastic in a 1937 dining car with white linen covered tables.

Fun Getaway

4.6 on June 30, 2013

Gourmet breakfasts! Comfy bed. Well thought out themed décor. Great location. A shower would be nice for those of us who have trouble getting out of a tub. :)

It's about the details...

5 on June 27, 2013

We enjoyed our stay at the Red Caboose way more than we thought we would! Somehow you have this sense that a train car really won't be that spacious or comfortable, but it was very comfortable and had plenty of room to move around. Granted, a caboose has it size limitations but it was fascinating to see how Olaf utilized every inch of the space in the refurbished car. We were in the Grape Escape and had some very nice Sofia champagne and several containers of fresh flowers which I REALLY enjoyed. My partner and his 22 yo daughter had relaxing rainy afternoon in the caboose just talking and planning... it was a highlight for them. Another surprise was the gourmet breakfast... using fresh local herbs and produce. It was fabulous! We had a great time and enjoyed every encounter with Olaf, Charlotte and Leif! It was a great time for us all!

Unique B&B

5 on June 25, 2013

This was a wonderful experience. The railroad cars are a unique B&B and the dining car breakfast was outstanding. We would highly recommend Red Caboose!

5 star breakfasts in a unique setting

Charming, unique, getaway

4.8 on June 24, 2013

Red Caboose Getaway was so much fun! Our caboose was absolutely charming down to the last detail. We stayed in the "Western-themed" caboose, and there were even a bunch of wonderful old westerns on DVD! Breakfast was delicious and the whole thing was very friendly and homey. Some activities we enjoyed while there were amazing Olympic Mountains views from Hurricane Ridge and a walk on Dungeness Spit. We were there for our 30th anniversary and couldn't have been happier!

Red Caboose - wonderful experience!

The Orient Express- Sequim Getaway

4.8 on June 20, 2013

The caboose cars are so charming and cozy. We've stayed at the Red Caboose previously, and would go it again. Olaf, Charlotte, and Leif are wonderful hosts, with great stories and tips for things to do while visiting Sequim. The breakfasts are incredible! The best we've ever had at a B&B. The duck pond and baby ducks were so much fun to watch. Julian & Betty

Night in a caboose

4.2 on June 20, 2013

What a terrific getaway! Each caboose is theme decorated ( we stayed in the Lavender Caboose) with every amenity possible. Besides the shopping, dining, hiking, sightseeing of Sequim, we thoroughly enjoyed just hanging out in our caboose, watching the sunset from the captain chairs in the cupola. The breakfast in the dining car was FABULOUS!!!!! Don't miss it!!!

On Track in a Red Caboose

4.6 on June 20, 2013

Hospitality was outstanding, breakfasts so very tasty served hot with delicious coffee (endless refills and decaf on request) in such a unique setting. My husband noticed that the hot bread was 'anchored' on the board like it would be on a moving train. Our unit was well appointed and clean with a comfortable bed. Where else can you have such an experience filled with fun and get an education about the function of a caboose?! Olaf was cordial and obviously loves what he and his family do. I have already told friends about this great experience. Also lots to do in the surrounding area; we walked at Hurricane Ridge, Crescent Lake and near the Elwah River.

Casey Jones caboose

4.2 on June 20, 2013

Amazing 4 course gourmet breakfasts! Very professional. Bed was very comfortable, local recommendations were very good as well.

This was more than a B & B

5 on June 18, 2013

Each caboose has.a theme, ours was wine. Every detail in the caboose was carefully chosen; from the stained glass used to the smallest details in the car. From the moment we turned the key to our caboose this B&B exceeded every expectation. Fresh flowers set next to the bed, a bottle of champagne in the mini frig and Chocolate mints on the nightstand. The most delightful addition to this room was the huge COPPER BATHTUB! The Lavender bubble bath, candles and fireplace allowed you to slip completely into wine country. In the morning a five course Gourmet breakfast will be waiting for you. Again every detail has been seen to. Each table is set. Linen table cloth, perfect table settings silver salt and pepper shakers, a daily menu, and small flower on each table. Coffee and a hot loaf of a Specialty bread is served to you after you are seated. Olaf is delighted to share the details of this1950s dinning car while he and his family prepares a breakfast you will not soon forget.

A more than outstanding experience

5 on June 17, 2013

Our children sent us to the Red Caboose for our 59th wedding anniversary. The entire experience was more than we expected. The breakfasts each morning were one of the highlights with food we never take time to fix at home. Watching the ducks and birds while dining in the dining car was most enjoyable. Olaf was our host for the time we were there and we had some very interesting conversations with him. He was always so cordial and went out of his way to make our stay pleasant and carefree. Although our caboose was yellow on the outside, the inside decor was most pleasing following the theme of the purple lavenders. We are grateful to our children for sending us on this adventure. Oh yes, visiting Sequim again was nice since we hadn't been there for years. We ate at the 101 diner and the Doclside Grill. Both had good food and were fun places to go. We now recommend this Bed and Breakfast to people we know and to all of you reading this. Helen & Joe

Unique experience, personalized rooms

4.4 on June 16, 2013

We didn't want a typical B&B and this place was great. We wanted to explore the Olympic peninsula and had two days. The 'room' (converted caboose) was very clean and spacious. We liked the captain chairs in the 'upstairs' area - great for reading. It didn't have a shower which we much prefer, but for those who like jetted tubs, it had a large one. We rarely eat breakfast, but wanted to try this one since we read it was fabulous. It was super fancy, way more than we're used to. Each day is a different menu, and definitely creative - no eggs and toast that's for sure. The facility was very clean and obviously well loved and proudly renovated.

Best B&B we have had

4.4 on June 11, 2013

We have stayed at numerous bed and breakfast places in our travels. The food at this place was amazing! The rooms were definitely unique. Only downside was not having a shower.

This is a great getaway!

5 on June 10, 2013

We stayed at The Red Caboose on May 23&24. What a delightful place. We were in The Lavender Limited and they didn't miss one detail in the interior design! The breakfast, served in The Silver Eagle Dining Car is amazing and not to be missed!!!! Sequim is a great place to explore, as well as the surrounding towns. We don't think you'll be disappointed if you go. Enjoy!

Perfect mini vacation

Best B & B I've been to.

5 on June 07, 2013

I have been to many B & B's over the years. This was, by far, the best one. The food was INCREDIBLE, the service wonderful. From the moment we arrived to fresh flowers and champagne in the room, until we went to bed with chocolates by the bedside, it was all great. Olaf has a passion for what he does, and is more than happy to give you all the information about what he has done and plans on doing in the future. We will definitely be going back.

What an experience!

5 on June 05, 2013

The hosts were everything osts should be! the atmosphere was amazing, the food was More than amaaing. you could tell they have put alot of thought, time and energy into the B & B. Will definately be suggesting the Red Caboose Getaway to others.

Will be returning!

5 on June 01, 2013

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was the best trip we could ask for. We stayed in the Grape Escape, the caboose was decorating in a grape and wine theme included with an excellent copper tub that was perfect for soaking after a days hike. During our stay the breakfast served in their silver dining car was one of our favorite memories. No breakfast was the same and all of them were beyond delicious and filling! We enjoyed Olaf's conversations during breakfast and suggestions of what to do within the area. Olaf, Charlotte and Leif were all so kind we can't wait to see them again! Definitely plan to visit this heavenly get away again soon!

Our Oriental Express Wknd. Getaway

We only live an hour and ahalf from Sequim so we are familar to the area. We decided on the Oriental Express Caboose and it was beyond our expectations. Beautifully decorated it sucked us right into our O. Express experience...right down to watching the Murder on the Oriental Express movie...Breakfast each morning was our favorite part of the day in the fabulous dining car...Olaf and Miss Charlotte and their son Lief where great hosts!!!! This place is definetly a must see... I can't decide which caboose to stay in next... circus? no maybe the wine caboose.. no no maybe the ocean one when it is finished. Maybe all of them!

We stayed at the Red Caboose Getaway in the Circus caboose. From the moment the door opened, there was something to look at. From the personalized magnet "welcome" to the lions in the "cages", nothing was missed. Bed was comfortable, caboose stayed warm with the propane fireplace/stove. You can absolutely not miss the breakfast!! The atmosphere of the dining car was warm and inviting. And the food... so very, very good! Olaf was an attentive waiter, and it was interesting to hear him speak about his plans for other cabooses. We felt pampered and welcomed from the moment we checked in until the moment we sadly closed the caboose door behind us... Do not miss an opportunity to visit here, it will be worth it!

A Unique Experience

4.8 on March 15, 2013

It was a treat to have some original fixtures of the caboose. We enjoyed reading on the two steel chairs perched on the roof line. It was a pleasure to have breakfast in the dining car with the tables set up elegantly.

Great weekend

4.6 on March 13, 2013

Great weekend at red Caboose Getaway. We stayed in the Lavender Limited on Track 5 and our only complaint was the dehumidifier noise. My husband is retired BNSF and he absoltuely loved all the train memorabelia. The breakfasts were fantastic. We will definately go back and plan to spend a little more time to check out ther area.

R & R on the Railroad

5 on March 06, 2013

What a delightful weekend. The Red Caboose Getaway was nice and peaceful since our weekend is in the middle of the week. We stayed in the Orient Express..listened to provided music CD's in the car and ate dinner sitting up in the observation seats. Breakfast both days was nothing short of AMAZING!! Bed was nice and cozy. I would recommend this little slice of paradise to anyone wanting to get some well deserved R & R...Thank you to Olaf, Charlotte and Leif!!!

Special Getaway close to home

This was our 3rd stay at the Red Caboose. We enjoy the theme idea so much and everything is done so well, down to the last detail. The highlight is always Charlotte's breakfast the next morning! She and Olaf are just the nicest people and they really know how to make your stay there an exceptional experience.

5 on February 23, 2013

The whole place is very quaint and unique. The breakfast was amazing and the dining car was beautiful. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely reccomend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in sequim.

Great fun for train enthusiasts!

4.0 on December 30, 2012

Very unique B&B experience! Comfortable bed, plenty of warmth from the heater, interesting decor, and outstanding breakfasts. Loved the duck pond and its visitors. Olaf can talk about trains and where all the cabooses came from to your heart's content. If you want a caboose with a shower, be sure to take care which one you reserve, as most only have tubs. We will definitely be back!

We had a fantastic, unique time.

5 on December 22, 2012

Great host and hostess. Train cars are so uniquely different and chosen carefully to represent different types of cars. We stayed in The Orient Express, watched the movie, had a great visit in sunny Sequim. The breakfasts are to die for. I wasn't sure what a multi course breakfast looked like. Sweet or savory bread, fruit course, main course like brunch casserole, French toast, or frittata (but with special ingredients), and small special finishing sweet. Juice, coffee, and relaxation. Fun!

original B & B

4.2 on December 19, 2012

The rooms are as original as they can be! Olaf has really done a great job at keeping them original and comfortable. They are all different, with different themes. Very clean, comfy, with jacuzzy or bathtub. Breakfast is a 4 course delicious gourmet endeavor, do not miss it!!

very cool room

4.6 on December 19, 2012

We stayed in the western themed caboose. I really liked it. It was kind of like a fantasy. The location was close to everything. There was a nice pond with ducks. The neighborhood was a little strange but overall I had a great time.

Can't wait to go back!

4.6 on December 19, 2012

This went far above and beyond my expectations in every way. We can't wait to go back in the summer. We plan to make this an annual visit and train hop between all the cabooses :o) Charlotte accommodated my very limited diet and both she and Olaf were super friendly! Highly recommend this getaway!

Warm and Comfortable

5 on December 13, 2012

We were impressed how warm and comfortable you can be in a caboose! Unique and cozy, plus the food was exceptional quality. On top of this, it is close-in to Sequim, with cute shops and close access to walking and bike trails. We really had a nice getaway! Robert Regan-Hughes

My husband and I were looking for a unique getaway and found the Red Caboose on the internet. The Lavendar Caboose was beautiful, quiet and romantic. The breakfasts were wonderful. The owners really put alot of care and thought into the comforts of their guests. We haven't stopped talking about our wonderful weekend and recommend it to all!

great place to relax

The caboose was retrofiied very nicely.Breakfasts were terrific. All things considered a great place to stay.

The Best Getaway Ever!!!

5 on December 03, 2012

We had such a great time in Sequim. The Red Caboose was the perfect getaway for Sandy and I. Charlotte made an unforgetable breakfast each morning, a real gourmet chef, I consider myself a, "good", cook but nothing like our experience with Charlotte's breakfast. Oalf is the most passionate man I have met with his focus and direction on where the business is going. His focus to attention on each of his, Caboose's is unbelievable. Every detail to the last little piece perfect to the best. Oalf is the best person for the job and Charlotte is the best breakfast chef in the West.....5 1/2 stars without a doubt......The absolute best getaway... Tim and Sandy

Truly unique getaway

5 on November 24, 2012

We have traveled all over the world and have never seen a place like this - and that's a compliment. The "rooms" are indeed individual cabooses, and the four course breakfast is almost too much - and served in an authentic railroad dining car, to boot.

Best weekend get away ever!

5 on November 18, 2012

Olaf and Charlotte have created the most unique and enjoyable escape in the Northwest. The charm flows from the host and hostess to the amazing bedrooms and a breakfast that defies description--it has to be experienced! The room transports you away from the stresses of everyday life to a better place. The attention to detail is extraordinary and makes the whole experience a ton of fun. We did not want to leave.

Wonderful stay!

5 on November 15, 2012

This is a very impressive property. Each caboose is individually themed and beautifully decorated. The breakfast is the best - 4 courses and impeccably presented and served. Olaf and Charlotte are very professional. We will definitely stay again!

very unique, a must for any railroad fan

Outstanding Place, wonderful people!

My Husband and I were able to get away for the weekend and had an amazing time at The Red Caboose Getaway. The place is wonderfully done and the owners, Olaf and Charlotte have done an incredible job, the attention to detail is fantastic, Breakfast is fabulous. A gourmet and filling breakfast to start your day. We look forward to going back!

fabulous and unique bed and breakfast

5 on October 23, 2012

This Red Caboose Getaway is a wonderful experience that takes you to another time when train travel was splendid. The trains are authentically decorated, good beds, lovely setting with a duck pond, and the dining car with 1930's music and the best "first class" breakfast. Highly recommend this getaway.

Very fun.

4.4 on October 23, 2012

The thing that bothered me the most was no shower curtain for the tub! Everything else was very interesting and fun. Olaf and Charlotte are just great.

amazing Amazing AMAZING!

5 on October 23, 2012

I surprised my husband with a HOMECOMING get away to the Red Caboose Getaway. He had just returned from a deployment in Afghanistan and this was the BEST weekend - ever! The caboose, service, value, cleanliness & dining were beyond great. Olaf & Charlotte were very knowledgeable of the area and were able to point us in the right direction for restaurants near the B&B. I must say that the First Class Breakfast served in the Dining Car deserves more than 5 stars. We stayed in the Grape Escape caboose and it was delightful! Thank you again, Olaf & Charlotte for an amazing homecoming getaway for me and my Sailor! We will be returning :D

All Aboard

4.8 on October 22, 2012

Stayed in the Lavender Caboose and it was amazing, gas fireplace, two person jet tub, (no shower) queen size bed and two conductor chairs. The place was warm enough in the Fall weather. Breakfast in the Silver Eagle Train Car was more than amazing. Some fine hotels can't do what Charlotte does, Cinnamon Swirl Mini Loaf, Bake Fuji Apple with Sausage Cornbread Stiffing then a Dutch Baby with RCG handpicked blackberries and Lavender Whipped Cream and then Chocolate Dipped Mandarins all this in one sitting.

Lots f fun and wonderful food!

4.8 on October 21, 2012

Just a lot of fun and definitely a place we will return to! We have already recommended to others due to the unique environment, the lovely owners and the truly wonderful service and food!

Red Caboose Review

Wonderful experience. Very charming and the service & food were excellent.

Unique B&B Experience

4.8 on October 17, 2012

Nostalgia with some modern conveniences and clever details. The Circus Caboose is stocked with circus-themed DVDs. The mural on the wall is lit with multi-coloured lights which can be changed to fade or flash, adding to the whimsical feel of the caboose. A nice touch was the personal welcome, spelled out in magnetic letters on the mirror wall. We missed having a shower but the jetted tub was very nice and the bed very comfy. The location is quiet and peaceful, adding to a restful evening. Breakfast was delicious and the dining car is set up as it might have been in its heyday. A great way to start the day. Olaf obviously enjoys sharing his knowledge of the rail cars and he and Charlotte are thoughtful hosts.

Train enthusiasts will love this

4.4 on October 17, 2012

Clever idea - restoring old cabooses. We loved it. Will go again to experience a different themed car.

Most unique get away.

5 on October 17, 2012

My husband and try and do local get aways around washington every couple of months to spend time with each other and not work weekends (own a small business). I thought that the Red Caboose looked like alot of fun and Unique. Well I was right... What a fun experience. I wanted the Grape excape caboose so we waited 4 months so we could stay in that caboose. It was amazing... The decoration and large copper soaking tub was great. It was such a fun experience to have your own train to stay in and the Breakfast in the mornings in the dining was was AMAZING..... His newest train s will be a Vegas and Sea theme and we will be back to stay in those two for sure.

A truly unique experience

4.8 on October 15, 2012

Our first b&b experience will be hard to top. Expertly renovated caboose train cars, (we were in'Casey Jones'), including a real dining car, made this weekend to remember. Excellent gourmet breakfast prepared and served by Olaf and Charlotte. They obviously enjoy what they do. We recommend without hesitation. One suggestion: The room could use a microwave, and the TV is teeny tiny

Amazing way to stay

4.8 on October 15, 2012

A very unique place to stay. I alwways looking for something special and the Red Caboose is the most spechial place that I ever found! It is very funny. Each caboose is restored with a lot of love for each detail - and the theming of each caboose is amazing. Breakfast was more than fabulous. Olaf and Charlotte were extremely welcoming. I highly recommend the Red Caboose and I would definitely stay there again when I am in the area. We have stay one night in the Western Caboose. Due to the fact that we do not have enjoy a dinner at Red Caboose I could not really rate it. Unfortunatelly technicaly I could not check out without a rating for Dining. But I expect that the dinner will be that great like the breakfast.

The Orient Express

4.2 on October 14, 2012

We stayed in a caboose with the name "Oriental Express". The interior was decorated with hues of red and gold. And there were posters of "Murder on the Orient Express" along with other railroad memorabilia. The bed was very comfortable. The jacuzzi tub was big. I would have preferred a shower option but that was not available. Also no ironing board or iron was provided, and there was no curtain or door separating the bedroom and the jacuzzi for privacy. (Yes, there was a door to the toilet.) The food in the dining car was quite good, although one morning it was particularly loaded with carbs. Our second day's breakfast was over the top good. The grounds have a long way to go. There were several ducks in residence and their poop was everywhere - including on the walkway and the stairs to the dining car and office. We had dinner coupons at two restaurants. The Alder Wood Bistro was not very good but the Dockside was excellent.

A highlight of the year

5 on October 07, 2012

Each Fall a group of bicyclers head over on the Coho Ferry from Victoria , B.C. to Port Angeles and proceed to ride along the Discovery Trai to Sequim. For many years now Stationmaster Olaf and his fine wife Charlotte have been looking after us with 5 star service and accommodations at the Red Caboose Getaway. Their personalized service is outstanding.

Great Getaway

4.0 on October 06, 2012

We could not have had a better time. The breakfasts are amazing! The location is easy to get to and very centrally located. It is better than most B&B's because each caboose is separate and there is not another room on the other side of the wall. Having the Discovery Trail go right by it is also a plus. Would recommend it highly.

We stayed in the #9 caboose the Grape Escape. It was amazing. Olaf and Charlotte were wonderful hosts and the breakfast was excellent both mornings. Everything was fresh made and very tasty and presentation was beautiful. We will be back next year.

More than we expected

5 on September 21, 2012

My husband and I spent 2 nights in the Western themed caboose and it was so much fun. We had a fireplace to keep us warm at night, the ambiance was wonderful, no detail left undone. It felt cozy and personal. The food was unbelieveable. They used fresh local produce and the chocolate dipped mandarin oranges are to die for. The area of Sequim has so much to do and is so interesting that it was a wonderful getaway.

4.8 on September 13, 2012

This place is a gem! Wonderfull hosts, great breakfast and fascinating stories how he obtained the Cabooses and how he relocated them to where they are today. I never stay at B&B's but this an exception. I plan to visit again. The breakfast was out of this world. Their passion for what they do reflects the details and work they have put into their cabooses!

Our caboose, #9 The Grape Escape, was classy and comfortable. The owners Olaf and Margaret were very friendly. The breakfasts were superb, truly gourmet.

All Aboard

4.2 on September 12, 2012

We visited the Red Caboose Bed and Breakfast this past August 2012. We reserved the Lavender Caboose. It was lovely and many of the items went well with the lavender theme. We weren't sure what to expect out of a caboose lodging but were pleasantly surprised. It was a bit warm but they had put in a portable airconditioner in the room to try to keep it cool. It had a lovely clawfoot tub that you could soak in. However, if you are more of a shower person, you might want to pass on this room. The breakfast for both days was just outstanding. She did a terrific job with the food and made substitutions for someone in our party who had allergies. He was a wonderful host and waiter. The caboose was quiet and there was plenty of privacy. There is a cute duck pond that is in the middle but there's a lot of bird droppings that you have to cross in order to get to the main dining caboose. Just be prepared. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience that you have to at least try once in your life.

Best B&B Ever

The best place to stay in Seqium washington

5 on September 06, 2012

This was our second stay at the red caboose getaway and we will always stay there when we are in Seqium. We feel like Olaf and his wife are more like friends then the great hosts that they are. This is a unique stay and perhaps not for everyone, but we really enjoyed it. We stayed in a Railroad caboose for two nights and had a delicious four course gourmet breakfast ina railroad dining car. This was fun! The hosts, Charlotte and Olaf are very friendly and accommodating. If you are a railroad enthusiast, this is the place for you. Pick Olaf's brain, he really knows the history. If you are not a railroad enthusiast, like we are not, don't hesitate to stay here. Location perfect and the accommodations are roomier than you might think. Decor is as you would expect...Everything historic railroad. Nice eye for details.

Something Different

3.4 on August 18, 2012

Fun and different place to stay. Comfortable bed, big tub, nicely decorated. Owners very friendly and make you feel welcome. Breakfast in the dining car was wonderful. Worth the trip just for breakfast. Things to know, the tub is open to the room, just behind a screen. The toilet and sink are inside a small compartment not much is a caboose after all. I would have liked fresh towels each day otherwise it was a enjoyable.

This place was wonderful.

The breakfast was outstanding. The area around Sequim has many interesting things to do that include the sea and mountains.

5 on August 15, 2012

What an absolutely fantastic place. The attention to detail in each lovely caboose is extraordinary. Olaf and Charlotte put their heart and soul into it and it is evident. We're going back again and again. Charlotte's beyond gourment and imaginitive 4 course breakfast served on fine china in a lovely dining car is out of this world. Olaf can tell you everything and anything about his search for the perfect piece to add to the decor. They don't skimp on anything and the service is top notch. We loved it!

Absolutley the most fun we've had staying over night. Olaf and Charolette are great hosts and wonderful story tellers. The attention to detail is impecable and the breakfast in the dinning car was so ellegant, unique with fabulous food. We sat out by the dock pond and enjoyed the nature one of the evenings. We felt like they made the whole experience special just for us. I would recommend this to anyone. We will be back for another stay.

A Quiet Getaway

4.2 on August 10, 2012

We enjoyed our two night stay at the Red Caboose Getaway. Olaf personally showed us around our room and Charlotte adapted our breakfast to fit our food restrictions. The place was both clean and quiet. The rooms are a bit pricy for those on a budget and the 8:30 breakfast time was a bit early for us, but overall we'd recommend this place to others!

4.0 on August 01, 2012

My husband and I love B&B's, and we're adding this one to our list of places to return. It's fun to stay in your own train caboose for a unique and novel experience. We stayed in the red caboose - the Orient Express - and definitely enjoyed ourselves. The only warning I'd give for this particular caboose is that it doesn't have a shower, just a large tub. For us, it was perfect because it forced us to take a relaxing bath for the first time in years! Yes, it's big enough for two and has jets if you like :) Perhaps we will give one of the other cabooses a try next time, just out of curiosity. As for the breakfast, get ready for an amazing 4 course spread! Everything was beyond delicious, and they were super courteous in asking us if we had any dietary considerations both when we booked and when we checked in. It's served in the largest, main caboose which is set up beautifully on the inside. The only thing I would warn potential visitors about is, 1) there's a lot of food, so come hungry! and 2) most of the dishes were heavy carb / bread based - yummy, for sure - but for those who crave protein / meat in the morning (or veggies) you might have to specify that preference.

A very unique B&B that we encourage people to experience. The cabooses were very comfortable and the food was outstanding. The dining car was such a particular treat that we brought our friends in to experience it. However, if you have trouble with stairs and steps, I wouldn't stay here.

Innkeeper Response
We offer authentic stays in a caboose complete with the original steps as well as the upper cupola chairs. Those mobility challenged we offer the "Casey Jones" with easier access up the Station House ramp (no steps) and coupled to our 1937 Zephyr dining car.

We love the Red Caboose Getaway. It's really nice, the themes are well done and its a very relaxing place to be. The breakfasts are worthy of a 5 star restaurant. It's located really close to the trail and the park and is a great place to get out and be active, yet its great to come back and relax in a long bath.

Incredible Anniversary Weekend at the Caboose

The owners are amazing warm folks who are experts in their area and are happy to talk trains with you over breakfast, but also understanding of people's desire for privacy on vacation. The cabooses are so cozy and charming as well. I can't wait to recommend this place to family and friends.

Outstanding overall

5 on July 18, 2012

Olaf and Charlotte are terrific hosts who make you feel like celebrities. The attention to all the railroad details with photos, antiques, and media to see and read in the room was unexpected. The well prepared breakfast was served with Olaf's unique flair with ancedotes of the construction of their dream B&B. I will recommend this great experience to my friends and my collector car buddies looking for another interesting destination.

Red Caboose is right on the rails!

5 on July 06, 2012

Olaf and Charlotte were amazing hosts in this unique little B & B. The food was gourmet and delicious. And the rooms cozy, sweet, and very tidy, offering more character and TLC than any B & B we have visited. The Red Caboose is a wee bit more rustic and far more quaint, than fancy places, considering the rooms are cabooses. We were also impressed by the attention and care of the owners in this lovely setting. Top notch!

Your friends will be jealous...

when you tell them about your weekend getaway. Ours were. Staying in a caboose, relaxing in the jacuzzi tub and a breakfast so good you have a hard time explaining really how good it is. And Olaf and Charlotte are wonderful hosts that truly enjoy what they do. We will be back again and again to stay in each of the cabooses and try the wonderful eats Charlotte comes up with.

Best B&B I've ever stayed at.

5 on July 05, 2012

One of the best kept secrets of Washington. The theme is unique but don't let the idea of staying in an old caboose throw you. The owners (Olaf & Charlotte) have restored and retrofitted these cars to the utmost detail that rivals upper level rooms in any hotel. Many cars have Jacuzzi tubs and gas fireplace/ stoves and the attention to the car's themes have been well planned from the decor to the collection of DVD movies that match the theme. Each car has a different experience. Top that all off with one of the most amazing breakfasts I've ever had... Anywhere. Plus the fact that it's served in a fully restored 40's dinning car just adds to the fun. You'll feel like your eating on a set of a classic movie. Detail here hasn't been left out either. Even Olaf and Charlotte are dressed for the part in period Train Staff attire. Even if I wasn't able to stay here (the place stays constantly booked) I'd opt to have breakfast here. Olaf and Charlotte are extremely friendly and don't pass up the chance to hear any of Olafs stories on the cars and what it took to get them here. The effort and expense it took to the cars here and convert them, it's amazing that they make any money based on what they charge. Making this a really good value. Out last stay was the second time we've been to this B&B and it was just as fun as the first time. We talked our friends into renting a car as well this time around and they instantly fell in love with the place as we did. This place is truly a memorable experience and if your lucky enough to book a car for the weekend you will definitely not be disappointed.

Breakfast was was the best from any bed and Breakfast I have had. We have been to bed and breakfast place from all over Europe and the US and this was not among the best it was the BEST!

Best bed and BREAKFAST!!

5 on June 27, 2012

Staying in a caboose is already really neat. You can get your own caboose, so you have total privacy. Each caboose has a different theme. You have a reason to visit again. My wife and I have already been there 3 times. Breakfast? The best breakfast!! Breakfast is served in dinning car (cool, isn't it?), and multi-course breakfast fills you up entire day!! Olaf and Charlotte, the owners, are sooooo nice. You can hear all about the caboose and breakfast.

Fun times in a real caboose!

4.4 on June 26, 2012

We stayed in the Casey Jones caboose which still has the conductor's desk & chair, the two observation seats, and the 'head'! The car has been elegantly modified and has all the conveniences of an upscale hotel room. Great breakfast, too!!

Wonderful getaway.

4.6 on June 20, 2012

We stayed in the Casey Jones caboose. My husband loved sitting in the conductor's chair and checking out all the train related items. The breakfasts were outstanding.

Lavender Limited

We had a great stay in the Lavender Limited Caboose. Breakfast and service were amazing!

A great mini vacation in the Circus Caboose

5 on June 19, 2012

Olaf and Charlotte were tremendous hosts. The whole experience was excellent. Olaf was like the Chamber of Commerce describing all the wonderful things to do and see and the great food that is produced in the Sequim Valley and the local restaurants that prepare it to perfection. Charlotte is a gourmet chef. Her breakfasts were the Best! The meal was different each day, prepared with locally produced food and cooked to perfection.

Took a ride on the Orient Express, in Sequim!

4.6 on June 19, 2012

Over the past weekend (6/15-6/17) we slept in a refurbished caboose and ate breakfast (4 courses) at a table covered with white linen, crystal & china. All of this took place at a wonderful B&B called the Red Caboose Getaway, located in Sequim, WA. Our hosts, Olaf & Charlotte, were wonderful, entertaining, and full of knowledge about the area and their prized cabooses. If you are looking for somewhere unusual and fun to stay, this is a great choice. All of the cabooses are totally refurbished and luxurious and each has some of its original parts. Ours had a glorious spa tub with room enough for two! A towel warmer and cozy robes finished off the relaxing soak. We plan on going back many times to try more of Charlotte's wonderful breakfasts and each of the other cabooses!

Wonderful Getaway

4.2 on June 19, 2012

We went to the Red Caboose Getaway using a Living Social deal, which included a 2 night stay, a $20 coupon for dinner at two local restaurants, and free wine tasting at the local winery. We stayed in the Western Caboose, and loved it. Olaf and Charlotte are wonderful hosts, and have thought of every detail. Also, the breakfast was delicious and enough to keep you satisfied till dinner!

Fun Stay

5 on June 17, 2012

We didn't know exactly what to expect when we booked our stay here. It was fantastic. The room was very cute and clean. We stayed in the lavender room. It was more spacious than I had expected. It had a two person jacuzzi tub the we enjoyed. The breakfast was to die for! Charlotte is definitely a gourmet chef. There was sooo much food. You definitely do not start your day hungry. After breakfast Olaf let us know what was going on around the area. We'll definitely be back here to stay again!

Western Caboose

3.8 on June 05, 2012

We stayed in the Western theme caboose. We loved the decor as well as the western movies! Olaf gave a great informative presentation of the caboose! He and his wife Charlotte were gracious hosts dishing up a gourmet first class breakfast! I would definitely recommend the Red Caboose Bed and Breakfast!

most amazing breakfast i have ever eaten

5 on June 02, 2012

I cannot say enough about our experience at the Red Caboose. It was a completely unique experience and the breakfast was to-die-for!! We will be back!!

Delightful B&B

5 on June 01, 2012

Thank you Olaf and Charlotte, we were only sorry we couldn't have breakfast on our second day because of having to leave to early. But the breakfast to go was perfect. We went on a cruise from there and we never got a good meal after that. You are the best, hope to come back again. God Bless Lynne and Ron

All Aboard For An Amazing Stay!

4.8 on May 30, 2012

You almost need two reviews for this property: One for the sleeping accomodations and one for the most spectacular breakfasts you'll get in a B&B. Each of the eight cabooses (there's more in the works) is themed to a different style (Western, Circus, Orient Express, etc.). Separate from each other they surround a very serene duck pond which, during our end-of-May visit, was loaded with little ducklings. Other songbirds add to the appeal of the surroundings as well as the chirping of the frogs at night. The circus caboose (our choice) came complete with a jacuzzi and plenty of space to move around. Room appointments include TV/DVD and an amazing attention to detail and accuracy. Only a couple units have showers so if that's important make sure to request one. Breakfast: 5-star doesn't even come close! All fresh and responsibile for us spending an extra night. Your host and hostess put out the mostest. We had our choice of coffee, tea, or a variety of flavors of hot chocolate (went with caramel but heard the peanut butter was great). Juice was a choice of orange/mango or pomegranite/berry. "Appetizers" included orange pull-aparts and a spectacular grapefruit (which didn't taste like any grapefruit I've ever had). This weekend's main course was a sausage-stuffed Fuji apple on Sunday and then a "hobo bag" on Monday. As if that wasn't enough desserts were chocolate-dipped mint leaves and mini-baked Alaskas. Where else does this happen? No pets (the proprietors'dog Pickles is a pleasant substitute) or children under 12 insure that the grounds (located a couple hundred yards from the spur road into town and next to a residential area) can be enjoyed by the adult guests. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The most fun anyone could ever expect

5 on May 28, 2012

We spent two nights and saw the local area. We just can't say enough about how we were treated from the minute we arrived to the time we left. Red Caboose Getaway B&B is tops in all catagories. If there was a way to give ten stars for our experience, they earned it. Thank you for an ideal stay. Joan and Jim Wells

Great theme for a B & B

4.4 on May 25, 2012

The Red Caboose was awesome. The dining experience was outstanding. We loved the different caboose themes and can't wait to try another one next time we're in town.

Sequim Getaway

5 on May 23, 2012

Bought a living social deal to stay at the Red Caboose and will definitely go back. It was a great experience and Charlotte & Olaf were wonderful. The cabooses were fun and Olaf suggested a lot of fun things to do around Sequim. The breakfast's were 5 star as well as the service. You won't be disappointed. Can't wait to go back!!! Thank you!

Our stay at the Red Caboose was so wonderful! Our hosts were very welcoming, told us all about the area and gave us great recommendations on local restaurants. The accommodations were not only fun and interesting they were also very comfortable. The breakfast was a great experience as well with delicious food and great service. We highly recommend the Red Caboose and look forward to visiting again one day!

My stay at the Red Caboose

4.8 on May 22, 2012

We loved our stay at the Red Caboose. We stayed in the Lavender Limited car - highly recommended.Olaf and his wife were perfect hosts and the highlight was the 4 course breakfast. It may sound expensive to stay there, but if you factor in free parking, and at $30 breakfast x 2 people, it is a bargain. Would definately stay there again. Rick and Jane Hinman - Erie, PA

3.8 on May 14, 2012

Trains are fun, even ones that don't move and this little B&B is uniquely fun. Our room was a bit tight, but had everything we needed to be comfortable. The soaking tub was lovely, but I really would have preferred a shower. Breakfast was delicious, but I am still working it off; and I missed having some fresh fruit. Still, if you are in the area and want a fun experience, check onto one of the 9 different train cabooses

A great B&B

5 on May 13, 2012

It was the greatest two days we have had in a long time. The caboose was a real treat and the food not what you would expect for a B&B. We will be returning again.

Great Place to Stay

4.6 on May 13, 2012

This was a great stay for my wife and I. The gourmet breakfast prepared by Olaf and Charlotte was great. This Bed and Breakfast was featured in GROUPON. We will definitely be going back. Staying in the Grape Escape Caboose was great.

really nice caboose

4.8 on May 11, 2012

we weren't really sure what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised. we stayed in a real caboose and loved it. It did not feel cramped at all and even had a 2 person bathtub and towel warmer. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The grounds were really cute with a pond in the middle and lots of birds. The area has lots of things to see and do. We had a great weekend.

Would like to give more stars for the food - absolutely outstanding.

4.8 on May 04, 2012

We stayed in the Orient Express caboose. It was comfortable and clean with a TV, fridge, and DVD player. Wifi is a bit spotty because of the thick metal walls. This is a unique idea and very well executed. The breakfasts were among the best we've had anywhere. I understand the reason for a firm check-in time, but check-in takes about 15 minutes per caboose and, with only one person doing the check-in, those at the end of the line wait a long time to get to their room. More flexibility about check-in time would no doubt be appreciated.

5 on April 30, 2012

This is a little expenive, but well worth it for a unique experience. The service was exceptional and the breakfast was AMAZING! The owners are a great couple who are passionate about what they do. The area is beautiful, and the combination makes for an unforgettable experience.

Fantasy come true!

5 on April 25, 2012

Our stay was a fantasy come true for any railway buff. What a treat to wake up on your birthday in a caboose and dine in a 1937 dining car! We stayed in the Lavender Express caboose and loved it. The décor was cute and comfortable...the jetted tub superbly relaxing. The frosting on the cake was a gourmet three course breakfast with scrumptious locally roasted coffee and even a tiny dessert! We have already chosen a theme car for our next stay. Thank you Charlotte and Olaf.

Breakfast is superb

5 on April 21, 2012

The breakfast for both of our days was out of this world. We have stayed in the western and lavender caboose. Loved both of them.

5 on April 14, 2012

What a great 45th. anniversary get away. Excellent breakfast in a 90 foot dinning car. I wish I could have rated it with six stars! Quiet, comfortable beds, with warm quilts resting inside of a restored, themed caboose. Make a plan. Do not miss this most pleasurable adventure.

The perfect baby-moon getaway!!!

5 on April 13, 2012

I had won a gift certificate through my work, but will definately be back to see Charlotte & Olaf! The experience was amazing. They made you feel like family, and the breakfast was out of this world!

Fun weekend getaway with my hubby.

4.8 on April 11, 2012

We traveled to the RCG for our one year anniversary. The rooms were just as we expected. The photos are very accurate o what you find at check in. Lots of movies on the room to watch. Comfy robes and lovely soaking tub. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because we never had good Internet service the whole time we were there and they were supposed I have wifi. It just wasn't a strong enough signal. Overall we had a great time. The breakfast was out of this world. So yummy and great first class service. We will definately be going back.

4.8 on March 14, 2012

The rooms are fun and cozy, the jacuzzi tub is wonderful. The breakfast each morning was a delight as were Olaf and Charlotte. I can't really speak to the value since we used a living social coupon. We will definitetly visit again

Lovely Caboose

4.6 on March 08, 2012

Our experience was so nice, I loved the original idea of staying in an actual old caboose. They are super cozy and the whirlpoor tub was so nice. The breakfast was amazing!! they serve breakfast items I never would have thought of, and everything is freshly made and delicious.

Red Caboose Review

4.6 on February 27, 2012

We had a wonderful pre-Valentine's Day weekend away. We stayed in the Circus caboose. Every detail of the caboose is true to theme - we enjoyed it all! It was comfortable, cozy, and romantic - a great place to get away for a weekend.

A unique experience that is worth it.

4.8 on February 26, 2012

My wife and I stayed at the Grape Escape which was beautifully furnished. The entire experience was quiet and very pleasant. Charlotte and Olaf prepared a marvelous breakfast for us that blew my mind. Excellent cooking, great service, and beautiful places nearby to see makes this one of those times I will remember forever.

the best getaway on the planet

5 on February 24, 2012

There needs to be a separate category for Olaf and Charlotte's caboose getaway - it's so far above any other place we have ever stayed. Olaf does an unbelievable job refurbishing the cabooses and Charlotte's breakfasts are breathtaking. Can't wait to return - again and again.

You need to stay here

5 on February 19, 2012

My husband and I could not believe how wonderful our stay was at the Red Caboose Getaway. The circus-themed caboose was bigger than we had expected and the two-person tub/spa was perfect. The best part was the breakfast each morning. A four-course meal served in the dining car on white linen tablecloths with china and crystal. We felt like we were in a 5-star restaurant. This is the perfect place to stay and we'll be sure to return!

Perfect and Unique Getaway

4.6 on February 16, 2012

We spent 2 comfortable nights at the Red Caboose Getaway B&B, Olaf and Charlotte were exceptional hosts and we felt very much at home. The Breakfasts were fabulous, we would not hesitate to hightly recommend staying there, we will be going again!

Home away from home

5 on February 12, 2012

We stayed in the Western caboose and the moment we walked in it was a feeling like we had come home! All of the details from the floorboards to the ceiling were right on! Charlotte and Olaf were so welcoming and made it seem as though they were guests as well instead of the hosts. The food was incredible! Definitely an experience... we were open to trying new things and loved every bite! If you're a bacon and eggs every breakfast type, inform Charlotte and Olaf ahead of time and maybe make arrangements to have something to fit your needs. They go to great lengths to be unique and are extravagant with their recipes (which are delicious!!) so if you are not open to trying new things please let them know, they are willing to adjust your menu to your liking. Charlotte and Olaf are a great couple and work hard to make it a wonderful getaway for those who are looking for a relaxing weekend. We can't wait for our next visit... :-) Kristen and Justin (Everett, WA)

Fun and interesting place to stay!

4.6 on December 13, 2011

We stayed in The Grape Escape. It was fairly roomy and the decorations were great. Olaf & Charlotte had the heater on ready for us when we arrived, and they were understanding of our schedule (couldn't arrive until after midnight). The breakfast prepared by Charlotte was amazing! Everything was beautiful and delicious. She also accommodated for my boyfriend's vegetarian diet. All in all, we were very impressed and we highly recommend this place for anyone interested in staying somewhere unique.

Fantastic B&B

4.0 on November 23, 2011

The Red Caboose Getaway in Sequim is fantastic! You get to choose from several luxurious cabooses to stay in overnight. We opted for the Grape Escape. I absolutely loved the copper tub - that was definitely one of our highlights! In addition to the fabulous theming (with great attention to detail), the breakfasts in the mornings were delicious! Served in a dining car, Charlotte created four-course gourmet meals despite my wide array of food allergies. My favorites included the Orange Pull-Apart Mini Loaf and the Strawberry Dutch Baby. I also really liked that they offered a lot of suggestions for things to do in the area and places to try for lunch and dinner, but also gave you a lot of space to do your own thing. If you ever make it up to Sequim, you should definitely give the Red Caboose Getaway a try.

Anniversary Celebration

5 on November 16, 2011

What an incredible experience! My husband & I recently spent 3 nights in the Grape Escape caboose & can't stop talking about it...Olaf & Charlotte are the nicest couple....Charlotte's breakfasts are an event in themselves. Attention to detail was everywhere & easy to imagine what it might have been like on the Orient Express with all of the personal attention. On morning of our anniversary the breakfast menu had a personal congratulations message for the two of us. This is definitely a "destination" B&B and we'll be back. So many places to visit around Sequim. Thank you Olaf & Charlotte for helping to make our anniversary a memorable one.

A Great Escape!

Loved the Red Caboose Getaway!!!

5 on September 01, 2011

We loved the Red Caboose Bed and Breakfast! The train cars were decorated to the tee, and Olaf and Charlette were the most friendliest people I have ever met. The breakfast was outstanding and beyond all my expectations. If you want someplace fun and out of the ordinary you have to stay at the Red Caboose Getaway. If you go there, you have to say HI to Pickles! Thanks for a great weekend getaway!

Unique, charming experience!

What a unique experience. Loved the lavendar theme, beds were soft and cuddly. Breakfast was fantastic, loved the linen tablecloths and china.

Best stay of our trip!

5 on August 25, 2011

My best friend and I spent a whole week in the Pacific NW, staying at a different B&B each night. The Red Caboose Getaway was BY FAR the best and most enjoyable night we had! I so wish we had planned to stay in Sequim more than one night, but now we have an excuse to go back one day. Olaf was the ultimate host. The train cars each had a different theme and the craftmanship/remodel was excellent down to every detail. I really felt like we were back in time! We felt like royalty having breakfast in the dining car. Service was top-notch. I HIGHLY recommend Red Caboose Getaway to anyone staying in the area!

Best Breakfast Ever

5 on August 24, 2011

Delightfull owners, a phenominal breakfast and cabooses are perfect. We have stayed 4 times now and will be back again.

Great Stay!!

5 on August 23, 2011

We loved this unique accommodation and the enthusiastic couple who are so excited about their B&B!! The caboose we stayed in was a Western theme with western details everywhere! The breakfasts were superb! When we wanted to use a table to play a game, our hosts set up a place for us in the dining car that we could use until 10:00 PM!!!

What a surprise for my wife - truely unique!

4.8 on August 15, 2011

A wonderful addition to the B&B community. Breakfast was 4-star in the Silver Diner Car! Each "room" was unique and quite comfortable. The little things such as a DVD movie following the "theme" of the caboose! We'll do it again if we're close by.

An Adventure on the Orient Express

Good for a birthday getaway

4.4 on August 14, 2011

We rented 3 cabooses for my husband's 60th birthday; July 29, and 30, 2011. Our sons and wives joined us on the 30th. We all liked the privacy of having our separate caboose, no one above us or next to us as in a normal hotel room. They all were very clean and have nice extras; robes, heated towel bar, two person jetted tub. The beds were very comfortable. Our daughter-in-law loved the Lavendar caboose-her favorite flower! We of course went to a nearby lavendar farm that Olaf recommended before we headed home. The breakfasts were superb. Olaf and Charlotte are very gracious while they serve. Olaf filled us in on the cabooses in the works and their themes. We hope to return to experience them. We have since recommended the caboose getaway to friends and family. Vicki and Scott Taylor - Oregon

All Aboard for this caboose

5 on August 11, 2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights in the "Grape Escape". We absolutely loved the caboose and the creativeness it took to transform this train into our own little special getaway. The breakfast was top notch and we really appreciated the attention to detail in the dining car, it made us feel that we had traveled back into a more elegant time period. Olaf and Charlotte are wonderful hosts. I would and have raved about this Red Caboose getaway to anyone staying on the Olympic Peninsula. This definitely a place where we would return.

The Best!

5 on August 10, 2011

If you want an adventure, this is the place to stay! It was so much fun to stay in a caboose! A lot of time and thought has been put into this B&B. There is such an attention to detail. The breakfasts were amazing, the best we've ever had! Charlotte & Olaf, the owners, were wonderful hosts. We will definitely go back.

AMAZING place with over the top hosts

4.6 on August 08, 2011

Olaf & Charlotte are the best, we stayed just one night but loved the whole experience. We stayed in the Circus caboose and we along with our son totally enjoyed it. If you love to eat breakfast then the whole dining expereince and food is out of this world, Charlotte puts on an incredible spread....Olaf you were right we skipped lunch! Can't wait to come see Casino caboose next year! Thank you Dean, Molly & Daniel

A real gem!

Just the experience I was looking for. Great attention to detail, cozy, charming. My breakfast in the Zephyr dining car was fabulous. I will definitely stay here again and again.

5 on August 04, 2011

We highly recommend Red Caboose Getaway, Charlotte and Olaf- pay attention to details and made our stay extra special. The breakfast is superb as well as very creative. We look forward to our next visit!!

Nice hosts, great food, unusual rooms and a too soft bed

4.2 on August 02, 2011

We recently spent two nights in a caboose with a "wine country" theme. Olaf and Charlotte have done a fine job of converting the old cabooses into themed bedrooms. They were very nice people and served a fabulous breakfast. The room was very clean and tidy. The only knock I have was the bed. This bed was mentioned by someone else in the room's guestbook. It was a queen sized bed with a too soft mattress and box springs. I am 6' 2" 225 lbs. and it felt like I was in a hammock. My wife naturally rolled towards the middle and against me all night long keeping us both awake. The second night she slept on the couch and said it was great. We are used to a firm mattress and we have never had that problem. All in all, other than the bed, I would recommend "Red Caboose" as a nice place to stay.

Innkeeper Response
Upon examination we found the box spring under the mattress broken in two places so the mattress had no support. We have replaced both mattress and box spring with a new Sealy Posterpedic firm mattress. Had we been made aware of the problem we would have replaced it for the second night. Our guests have always raved how great our beds are.

4.6 on August 02, 2011

This was a surprise for my husband and he was really pleased with it. Sitting high above the world in the chairs up top he could view the world passing by. The caboose was really clean and very pleasant. Olaf and his wife were very friendly and the food was fabulous.

Rustic charm

4.8 on July 31, 2011

Caboose a little too rustic for us. Breakfast was wonderful! Hosts were great.

Innkeeper Response
We are sorry this guest found our cabooses "too rustic." Our accomodations are advertised what they are-your own private caboose most with 2 person whirlpool tub, gas fireplace, queen feather bed set on 3 acres around a central duck pond with 4 course elegant breakfast in our 1937 private dining car.

- Olaf (innkeeper)

Dream come true...

4.8 on July 27, 2011

I surprised my husband with this weekend getaway for his birthday. He has always wanted his own caboose in the back yard, but says now he can just come here. Much better and more cost effective, if you ask me. We had an absolutely wonderful weekend and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a new and different experience. We stayed in the Western and were amazed at the accomodations and attention to detail. They even had a real claw foot tub complete with about 30 western movies on DVD! We'll definitely go back.

Nice change from traditional!

4.6 on July 19, 2011

The Red Caboose is a great place to spend a night. The owners are passionate about their place and the service is top rate. The breakfast is first class.

Night at The Grape Escape

4.4 on July 14, 2011

We chose to stay a night at The Red Caboose Getaway to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. I chose the wine themed caboose, since he is a wine connoisseur, which was perfect. Olaf suggested a great local seafood restaurant and a lavendar farm to visit. The location was perfect for catching the ferry over to Victoria on Vancouver Island, after a truly, exquisite, gourmet breakfast prepared by Charlotte. We enjoyed hearing Olafs interesting Train stories before our departure. We shall always remember our getaway at the unique, romantic, & very comfortable Red Caboose. We hope to stay in their other cabooses if we are ever, again, in the Sequim area. Thank you for your fine hospitality for a memorable night! Kathy & Marty, Florida

Great stay......

Don't Miss This Train!

4.6 on July 08, 2011

We were so pleased with our delightful stay at Red Caboose Getaway: the attention to detail, the warm friendly atmosphere, and the great homemade food! The amenities were whimsical and comfortable and we had a great time (and slept much better than we ever have on a moving train.) All Aboard!!!

Pacific Northwest Treasure

4.8 on July 06, 2011

Charlotte and Olaf were outstanding hosts and went above and beyond what one might typically expect in order to make us feel comfortable, at home, and oriented to the community. Breakfast was a spectacular gourmet treat and the quaint and exceptional rooms offered an incredibly unique experience. Overall it was an outstanding visit and we look forward to returning in the future and referring friends and family.

Red Caboose

5 on July 03, 2011

We have spent just one night there but it has been great. What you see outside has nothing to do with what you will find inside the rooms. By far, nicer and cleaner than almost each and every B&B we have been before (you know that sometimes "charm and "too old" are too close to each other...). Breakfast was great and the restaurant nothing short than perfect. Thanks for the experience!

Peninsula trip, wonderful start w/ a caboose!

4.2 on June 28, 2011

SOOOOO creative. Olaf offered a lot of knowledge and information about the trains and about the area. Breakfast was amazing and we especially enjoyed the soaking tub in the "Grape Escape!" It was obvious how much this business meant to them-it was a passion they had. This was a wonderful start to our anniversary weekend. We will be going back.

When your teenagers LOVE it, it's gotta be good!

5 on June 23, 2011

I happened upon a treasure located in Sequim Washington. Who knew a caboose would be our favorite place on our vacation. First thing our older teenagers said when we opened the door to our caboose was, "This is the coolest place ever!" Well you can't beat that. :) The breakfast was fabulous to boot and Olaf and Charlotte were the perfect hosts. We hope to go back for a visit soon!

Even fun if you are not a RR buff

I hope to visit again and experience a different themed caboose. Breakfast was over the top and amazing.

Happy regulars ride again!

5 on June 21, 2011

We love Red Caboose Getaway! We started going in 2006 and have gone back at least once a year since, and hopefully, we always will--we have withdrawal if we go too long without a visit. It is a lovely, relaxing place and a completely unique experience, particularly if you love trains. Each themed caboose is a theme-decorated labor of love, full of fun little details and new ones being added all the time. Many have large jetted tubs, and they all have wi-fi, fridges and the like. The breakfasts are out of this world--I've never had better food--and the hosts accommodate your dietary restrictions if they know them ahead of time. Just a fantastic getaway--I can't imagine a better bed and breakfast experience.

Red Caboose Getaway

5 on April 27, 2011

I loved the Red Caboose Getaway! We spent two nights in the 'Orient Express' caboose. It was clean. I liked the way it was decorated---posters from the movie 'Murder on the Orient Express' and other railroad items. Innovative---I liked the clock on the ceiling. The caboose was more spacious than what I expected. The owners seemed to think of everything---even providing a copy of the movie 'Murder on the Orient Express' which we enjoyed seeing again. The breakfast in the morning was very good. Four courses! More than I normally eat and items that I wouldn't even have thought about ordering. The host and hostess were very nice and welcoming. Both have much knowledge about trains and were willing to answer questions. I am sure that they are asked the same questions almost every day by someone new. I would recommend the Red Caboose Getaway and will go back. I might like to try another caboose on a different track but I really liked the 'Orient Express' caboose and would be happy to stay there again.

the western

4.4 on April 25, 2011

This was our first stay at a b and b and it was perfect! The owners were so nice, and too fun to interacct with. We were the only guests at the time so we got to talk with them a lot and showed us around the grape escape as well. So very fun! And of course their pup pickles was a cutie and so adorable! My husband works oon trains and he even enjoyed staying on the caboose. Thanks for such a great time!

4.8 on April 18, 2011

My husband & I went here for our 21st Anniversary. It was better than I had hoped the attention to detail in everything from the themed caboose (We stayed in the western)with a towel warmer fresh flowers, valor bath robes, and even local made lavender bath bubbles was fabulous! Olaf and his lovely wife made a delicious 4 course breakfast served in the vintage dinning train car. We found a souvenir menu waiting for us at breakfast that was personalized with our anniversary and names! What a great time, I can't say enough!

A step back into the golden age of railroading

4.8 on March 05, 2011

We had a totally delightful time enjoying the Red Caboose, very confortable and full of original details that brought back lots of good memories from my childhood. The Dining Car and Breakfast in the morning was indeed a highlight . We will definitely return.

Will come back soon

Idyllic getaway at the end of a nice 3 hour drive from Seattle. Everything was picture perfect, returned home very relaxed and rejuvenated.

Not your average B&B !

Quirky but unique experience. Must-do for any railroading buffs. Great host/hostess - very accommodating and personalizing. Breakfast was seriously good, in the well-appointed classic dining car.

Can't wait to go back!

5 on February 28, 2011

My husband and I stayed here for Valentines day and had the best time! We plan on making this a yearly tradition so we have the chance to stay in each room. The breakfast was wonderful and the dinning cart was so much fun. Charlotte and Olaf are so accommodating. They were making something with crab for breakfast and knew we did not like seafood and made something different just for us.

red caboose charming and romantic

4.2 on February 27, 2011

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. At first glance, the Red Caboose may not seem like much, but once you've slept in your cozy train car and eaten at the dining car, you are impressed enough to write a review when you get home. We got snowed in and loved it. Perfectly romantic!!

Fun and unique

4.4 on February 27, 2011

This was a fun and unique experience. The rooms were very comfortable and nostalgic. The hosts were gracious and the food was fantastic. We will definitely stay again. Next time we will try a different theme.

Casey Jones adventure

4.4 on February 24, 2011

Our stay in the Casey Jones caboose was a little step back into nostalgia. It was a wonderful experience and the cabaoose was a fantastic re-creation with numerous little reminders of the glory days of railroading. The fun sleeping experience was only the prelude to the breakfast dining experience. Olaf and Charlotte perpare the most fabulous breakfast - this must be 1937 again!!! The railroads of yesteryear could not top the culinary delight Charlotte had prepared and Olaf served. Whether you are a railroad buff or not, this experience will make you one for at least a night and the morning breakfast will satisfy you for the day.

Love the Caboose

4.6 on February 01, 2011

Charlotte and Olaf are wonderful people and make you feel very comfortable the minute you arrive. The Caboose's are amazing and so unique! The breakfast is so worth getting up for and you eat in a dinning car! Overall it was an outstanding experience and we will go back.

A Very Happy Anniversary!!

4.6 on November 18, 2010

We actually had to cancel our original reservation due to a medical emergency. Olaf and Charlotte were kind enough to allow us to reschedule and we are so happy they did. We had expected to have just a fun and unique evening and it turned into such a wonderful time and a great memory. Our 'Orient Express' was cozy and warm. We couldn't stop smiling while there. We watched a movie we probably would not have otherwise watched, and the food...AMAZING!!!! The magic that Charlotte creates in the kitchen is worth waking up for, the ducks on the property are wonderful to watch, Pickle is well, a cutie, and the one thing that just amazed us were the sheets. Granted, we visited in winter, but we fondly refer to them as the 'teddy bear' sheets. They were fleece and so very soft and warm...we still dream of those sheets. We will be back, and perhaps even try another caboose...however, the "Orient Express" is hard to beat. Thank you Olaf and Charlotte!

The Grape Escape

5 on November 17, 2010

Enjoyed every minute in this exceptional refinished caboose. The owners did everything to make the stay memorable for us. The interior of the caboose is luxurious, quiet and helped us truly feel we had a romantic interlude from life.

Coming back soon!

4.6 on October 10, 2010

The Red Caboose Getaway was even better than we expected! We stayed in the Grape Escape car and it was wonderful! I loved the fireplace and the copper tub. The heated floor in the bathroom was so nice in the morning! I am still raving about the four course breakfast. We will definitely come again, and stay longer next time. One night is not enough!

5 on October 06, 2010

Yes! Rather than going on our vacation traveling,(Montana had our eye) we decided to treat ourselves to ,, yes a full-on leather sectionals sofa. And then on a spur'o the moment, do one night in an area we love, Sequim Wa. area at this B&B. Everything was superb but i'd just like to add, the ease, which a vacation should include. First the reservation,(online) the getting there, from Seattle, via the Edmonds/Kingston ferry and just a 60 miles of total drive! Check-in, this is not a hotel, you will listen to your host. And as he said, you don't have to go out of state, Europe and the like to get-a-way. A tip: this gem in NOT always booked, and the caboose makeovers are remarkable, outstanding !!

Heaven Just 3 Miles From Home!

4.8 on September 19, 2010

My husband and I stayed in the circus caboose for his birthday, and it was wonderful, and best of all, we only live three miles from here, so the trip home was a quick one. The room was fun, made me smile (thank you for the welcome in magnets), lived in the jacuzzi :-). Breakfast was five star served by friendly faces. Thank you for accommodating my food request. It was private, pleasant, and just a relaxing time. We WILL return to check out the other caboose's. Thank you again Charlotte and Olaf!

We'll be back!

4.0 on September 09, 2010

We decided to have a quick holiday overnight close to home. We thought the Red Caboose getaway looked so unique and it was! Olaf and Charlotte took care of every little detail. I loved the bed! So often I can't sleep on hotel beds but I slept like a log. Breakfast was a real treat for my husband. I am vey restricted in what I can eat and they bet over backward to accommodate me. Overall, we loved it and will be back!

Great Getaway

4.0 on September 03, 2010

Cozy charm and great hospitality are just the beginnings with the breakfast exceeding excellence. The only flaw I could find was that bed was too soft for my bad back.

4.8 on September 02, 2010

This place is great!!! The rooms are so cool and the breakfast was amazing! I recommend the Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate...yummmm! The owners are so friendly and nice! We had a great time and will be back for sure.

Very original accomodation

4.0 on August 24, 2010

Very original accomodation and friendly owners. The breakfast was the most sophisticated one we have enjoyed so far in any hotel. If you can afford it (we received a B&B gift certificate from friends), I definitely recommend the Red Caboose Getaway.

5 on June 23, 2010

The food is gourmet, the rooms are a delight, the town and people are very friendly and the experience is one of a kind!

The best of the best

5 on June 19, 2010

Are you tired of the nice but predictable stay at a bed and breakfast location? If you are, then the Red Caboose Getaway is just the place for you. This place will give you a very unique adventure that you will remember always and definately want to come back to time and time again. Each individual caboose will fit anyone's fantasy and particular personality and per olaf there are more choices coming in the future. My husband and i stayed in the Grape Escape and just walking thru the door found it just what we had hoped for and what was shown online. Even though the cabooses can be small they have found away to decorate them to give you the feeling of home. The details are outstanding for each theme. Waking up to the sound of birds chirping as the sun rises stems from the home they have created not just for their guests but for the wildlife as well. Now to the breakfast that awaits you each morning of your stay. Charlotte again shows her talent not just in decorating your caboose but her creativity on the plate put before you. She loves to cook and each course shows that with presentation and flavor. You will not be disapointed. One other thing do not miss hearing the stories of Olaf and Charlotte's adventure in building their dream you are staying and what they could have in store for your next stay. C

We stayed in the "Murder on the Orient Express" caboose and it was a truly unique experience. It was very romantic, quiet and there was plenty to do in the area. We can't wait to come back and hope to eventually stay in every caboose. Charlotte and Olaf were wonderful hosts and the breakfast was more amazing than I can put into words! Go there!

An Experience we'll never forget

5 on November 13, 2009

My wife and I enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Red Caboose. The area is beautiful and the Caboose we had was an awesome place to be. It made us feel warm and very comfortable. Charlotte and Olaf gave my wife and I the most rewarding experience of a life time, especially being that this was our first ever stay at a B&B. The Breakfast and service was amazing, we felt like royalty.

Innkeepers Olaf and Charlotte host a B&B for the train-lover in you, as well as amaze your tastebuds with unique breakfast fare. They have preserved the cabooses well, especially the coupla seating area which is a great place to sit and just relax. A wonderful expeience even the spouse of a train-lover will appreciate!

From the moment you turn the key, you are transported to another era and tucked away in luxury. In the Grape Escape Caboose, it's the slipper tub. But there is a theme for everyone here- meaning you'll be sure to return to experience them all. Breakfast is beyond words and the hosts endearing.

Well worth EVERY penny!

4.8 on August 10, 2009

We went to a wedding in Sequim, Wa August of 09. Most rooms in Sequim are, in my opinion, not worth their cost. Not so with the Red Caboose! Olaf and Charlotte have gone far beyond to make your stay unique and enjoyable. the 4 course breakfast in the morning included in your nights stay could be served in any 5 star restaurant. Each caboose has a different theme and has been lovingly decorated. The jacuzzi was huge, and comfy. small side note: no shower in the Orient Express or Lavendar room, be prepared to wash your hair in the tub.

The best-ever B&B

We will be going back someday soon.

We stayed in the lavender caboose (each one has a theme), the decor was very relaxing, as was the jacuzzi tub and very comfortable bed. The gourmet breakfast was amazing--beautifully served and a culinary treat! I am allergic to milk, which they asked about ahead of time, and specially cooked mine so that I could enjoy the same meal as my husband. It was truly a delightful retreat for us.

4.0 on February 19, 2009

We wanted a fun place to stay that would be good for the two of us as well as our son. He loved the Carnival Caboose, he kept saying "this is the best day ever". I liked it mainly because it was quiet and had a jacuzzi tub, which was great after the day hike we took. Breakfast in the dining car was fantastic. My son is a pickey eater so didn't fit with the food well, but asked for some bacon and it was available for him, even though it was not on the menu. We will go back again and try one of the other themes, i.e. the Lavender Caboose. I loved reading the guest book of past visitors.

The caboose we reserved had a lavender theme; Its ambience and decor made it seem like a dream. The whirlpool tub was a wonderful sight; Soaking in it made for a very relaxing night. The lavender field mural painted on the wall was our favorite caboose decoration of all. The gourmet breakfast served in the train diner; In our opinion, we've never tasted finer. The bed kept us warm, as did the nice fireplace; This caboose is just the ticket to escape from the rat race. Our wonderful innkeepers were Charlotte and Olaf; For a most delightful weekend getaway, we can't thank them enough. We recommend these cabooses for relaxation and rest, and firmly declare the Red Caboose Getaway "the best!"

Weekend Respite at the Red Caboose Getaway

5 on June 15, 2008

We originally had booked one night at this bed and breakfast, but after the wonderful service, FANTASTIC breakfast and the fun of staying in the "Circus" Car, we asked to stay another night!! Charlotte and Olaf are wonderful hosts and the breakfasts were out of this world. Beautifully presented with local flair and flavors, they were absolutely scrumptious. While we stayed in the Circus car which was a load of fun, "station Master" Olaf gave us a tour of some of the other cars. The "Lavender" car is exquisite and we can't wait to see the completed "Grape Escape!" I highly recommend this incredible B and B if you are anywhere even remotely near the the town of Sequim, or Seattle, or Washington! Oh and did I mention the breakfasts were top notch?!!

Lavender Limited's first guests wowed!

5 on November 29, 2007

As the first guests in the Lavender Limited, we must say our setting was exquisite! Olaf and Charlotte definitely attend to even the most minute details! The breakfasts were gourmet to the max and delicious! My husband knew I've always liked trains and still travel by rail when I get the opportunity. We were like kids in a candy shop and would return at the drop of a hat! We highly recommend the Red Caboose Getaway!

Olaf and Charlotte ask for anything special you may want when you arrive. I said I would need a bubble bath after a three hour ride on a motorcycle and they had a terrific set up in the western caboose. The breakfast was far more than you would expect from a B&B.

The room was whimsical and fun. Decorated in a Western theme. The food was delicious. Olaf and Charlotte were very warm and made us feel right at home. This bed and breakfast is incredible, but not just because you are staying in caboose cars. This is the total package. Olaf acted as both conductor and local guide. Every place he recommended was excellent from food to must-see-places.

Probably the Most Unique B&B I've Ever Experienced

5 on January 31, 2007

I have stayed at B&Bs with every theme imaginable, but Red Caboose Getaway is in a class all of its own. The attention-to-detail and creativity(in the individual caboose/suites as well as the meticulously restored dining car) is amazing. The innkeepers are delightful, and our breakfast was one of the best and most elegantly presented I have experienced anywhere. I hope I will have an opportunity to return to this one-of-a-kind B&B.
