Birthday get-away

4.6 on October 19, 2017

Such a lovely house in a quiet neighborhood. Loved the walks through the neighborhood - the Whitman campus - and to downtown. Our suite was spectacular with it's own private balcony to drink our coffee and the breakfast menu was very nice. Loved all the fall vegetable/egg options !!!

Fantastic place to stay in Walla Walla

5 on August 21, 2017

We went to Walla Walla for a couple of days to explore the wine country and the town. The Green Gables Inn was amazing. so beautiful and comfortable. Very quiet and the area is close to town, Whitman campus, etc. Such a beautiful setting.

What a great place!! We were in the Carriage House and it was wonderful!! We had our own patio and kitchen. We could have bought our pets too. We didn't need the kitchen but it came in handy having a refrigerator!

Alexis and the morning staff were delightful and very helpful. We would recommend Green Gables Inn to family and friends.

4.2 on July 10, 2017

Alexis and her staff were very helpful at the inn. We would stay again if ever in Walla Walla in the future. The breakfast was delightful and so pleasant on the veranda.

Lovely, restful stay in a great neighborhood

5 on June 24, 2017

My daughter (15 years old) and I were passing through Walla Walla and are very glad to have stayed at the Green Gables Inn. All of my correspondence prior to our trip was helpful and prompt, and we were greeted happily when we arrived. After a quick tour of the gorgeous inn, we were shown to our room and left to settle in. The location is a wonderful one, and we set off to explore the town (fun!). The bed is incredibly comfortable and the inn quiet, and we both slept deeply and arose well-rested. Chef Andi had ensured that my daughter and I, both vegan, had a hearty breakfast waiting for us in the morning, which we very much appreciated. And added bonus: there's a fabulous cat named Barnaby who lives on the porch and loves attention. An absolutely perfect stay.

A Great Place For A Group

4.8 on June 21, 2017

This was a great place for our group of 6 couples . We had a dinner on site that was perfect, and breakfasts were served on the porch, and all was great. The home is lovely, and located in a lovely neighborhood. We all agreed we would stay there again

Winery visit

5 on May 14, 2017

Brought my mom and stepmom here for a night while we visited Walla Walla to go wine tasting. What a great experience! Very clean, very accommodating. Had coffee, tea and snacks in the afternoon. We brought our wine back and sat on the beautiful porch outside. Breakfast was exceptional with multiple options for all dietary types. My moms loved it and we will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience and wonderful food

5 on April 13, 2017

All the staff were outstanding and friendly. The food was wonderful. There is coffee, tea and snacks available at all times! The carriage house was clean conformable and private. We were the only guests the final morning of our stay and they set up a table for us in front of the fire - a nice capstone to our 10th anniversary celebration in Walla Walla. We would definitely stay here on our next visit!

The Green Gables is still outstanding!

5 on March 31, 2017

The Green Gables Inn is a lovely B&B in Walla Walla. It is an easy walk to the Whitman College campus through a lovely old and historic neighborhood. We stayed there many years ago under a different management and can definitely report that the new management continues the wonderful traditions of the previous owners. The rooms are charming with new and improved bathrooms and the food is fabulous. It is my go-to spot for an overnight stay in charming Walla Walla!

Great Stay in Walla Walla

Best B&B we have ever stayed at. Great location near DT Walla Walla. Beautiful and super clean historical home. The In Keepers are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was beyond words delicious. To summarize our stay at Green Gables Inn I would say we had a perfect experience!

Anniversary stay

4.2 on March 19, 2017

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. We were scheduled to stay in the Birch Path but they upgraded us to the Idle Wilde Suite. It was a very nice surprise. The room was very comfortable. The home was nicely decorated and clean. The room had been very nicely remodeled and the bath and shower was luxurious. The bed in our room was very comfortable which is not always the case in other bed and breakfast rooms in which I have stayed. We were very happy with our stay and we would stay here again.

Simply B&B Perfection

5 on November 26, 2016

I just can't say enough about how much I love this little place. Beautiful, quaint, hospitable, convenient. You really do get the complete package with this place. Alexis and Andie makes your stay so pleasant, and a wonderful cooked to order breakfast every morning. If this place is not available when I want to go to Walla Walla, I'm just don't go at all.

Historic Retreat

4.4 on November 21, 2016

We spent four nights at Green Gables. It is in a quiet neighborhood, close to downtown. Our breakfasts were exceptional. The innkeeper was friendly and accessible but didn't hover. Our room was large with every convenience-and the bathroom was perfectly updated. We will certainly stay there again.

Green Gables is a charming, cozy, and comfortable Inn. Alexis and Andrea are friendly and accommodating hosts. The Inn is within walking distance to Whitman college and the town Walla Walla.

Wine Tasting Trip to Walla Walla

5 on November 04, 2016

This was an excellent trip to Walla Walla, not only for the wine tasting for a birthday weekend, but the Green Gables Inn was outstanding!! Before arrival and through the end of our stay the innkeeper (Alexis) did an excellent job hosting us; from the e-mail before arrival, greeting us upon arrival, showing us around, informing us of expectations through our stay, and care of our room was nothing short of a 5 star stay!! The breakfast made to order was nothing short of excellent. The Green Gables Inn has a reputation of excellence and we saw this first hand!! We recommend 100% and will choose no other place to stay for our next trip!! Thank you for a great weekend!

Had a spooktacular Halloween weekend staying at The Green Gables! Great little B&B close to town that had everything we needed and a little more! Alexis was a great host, and provided us with good info on hiking and dining in the area. Enjoyed yummy breakfast made in house both mornings we were there. I def recommend a stay at TGG next time you stay in Walla Walla!

Green Gables Inn B& B

5 on October 14, 2016

Wonderful B&B at Green Gables Inn! Exactly what they stated it's a "Quaint B&B in a 1909 Craftsman-style home with full breakfast, period antiques & a carriage house"! Everything about it was wonderful! Love the staff, Alexis the Inn Keeper and Andi the chef!

Another wonderful stay at Green Gables Inn

4.6 on October 05, 2016

A beautifully maintained, historic home in Walla Walla with engaging and thoughtful staff. Breakfast was very good, as was the dinner on Friday night. We chose the chef's choice option for dinner, which turned out very well. Highly recommended.

Five star B & B!

5 on October 04, 2016

A must stay when in the area or planning a trip to visit wineries or local colleges. It really was the perfect example of what we envisioned as a PERFECT B & B. the breakfast was amazing! The Inn keeper went out of her way to help us navigate the area.

September 2016 Stay at Green Gables

4.8 on September 17, 2016

Friendly innkeepers and chef. They were able to adapt a breakfast for my spouse when 3 of us wanted to eat earlier than the full breakfast. Beautifully kept home.

Great weekend at Walla Walla

Last weekend at the Green Gables was a great change and wonderful experience. My wife and I have always stayed a one of the hotels over the pass 15 years we have been to Walla Walla. Darwin Abrahamson

Carriage House

4.2 on September 11, 2016

Main house is lovely but the carriage house finish is of a different vintage and feels like a basement suite. Service and food were great. Location a 15 min walk to town and carriage house has daybed that converts to a second bed if you have more than 2 guests. It was private and spacious but lacked charm.

The Perfect Weekend

5 on August 26, 2016

We had to be in Walla Walla for a birthday party, but wanted to stay in a B&B near downtown. The Green Gables is the perfect spot. A beautiful old home, perfectly located, quiet, and relaxing. The perfect spot for a romantic getaway from the kids!

Excellent Time!

5 on August 16, 2016

We loved our stay at the Green Gables. The rooms are lovely. The food and service is awesome! We cannot wait to return again.

B&L: Great location for all activities

5 on August 05, 2016

We seldom write reviews but felt that everyone should understand what a great value the Green Gables Inn is. The food is wonderful and the hosts were very accommodating to the guests.

Delightful experience!

5 on August 05, 2016

We stayed at the Green Gables Inn for 2 nights and were very pleased with the entire experience. The room was spotlessly clean and delightful, The staff was exceptional, and the breakfast exceeded our expectations, including vegetarian options. We'll be happy to return here for our next Walla Walla visit.

Wonderful B&B

5 on August 02, 2016

We stayed at the Inn from July 29 through to August 1. The room we stayed in was the Dryad's Bubble. The room was immaculately clean. It was a mix of the olden days and modern amenities. The bed was perfect and comfortable. We absolutely loved the daily Breakfast. The scones were simply amazing. We were able to sit out on the porch and just relax with fabulous food. Finally, everyone is so nice. The service was awesome. We cannot wait to go back.

A Quiet Getaway

5 on July 24, 2016

The Green Gables Inn is elegant Victorian, which has been modernized to accommodate 21st Century tastes. Good service makes the Inn very enjoyable.

Definitely would return!

3.6 on July 18, 2016

This is a grand old mansion kept in beautiful condition. Welcoming and homey atmosphere. The service is fantastic and the food is excellent. The quiet tree-lined street is also a plus.

Green Gables Inn

3.6 on July 15, 2016

We had a delightful 2 night stay in the Carriage House at Green Gables. It is a stand-alone suite with total privacy and solitude. Wonderful bed, small kitchenette with a Keurig! The breakfasts were incredible. The Eggs Benedict on our first morning was the best ever, complimented by fresh fruit, juice and special french press cofffe from the Walla Walla coffee roasters - great combination! The home is in a great location, quiet neighborhood but close to the downtown district. Definitely a winner!!

Perfect B&B experience

5 on July 13, 2016

My shy husband is not keen on the B&B experience so staying in the Carriage House was perfect. I got to experience the historic uniqueness of this lovely home while he enjoyed the privacy of the gated patio & comfortable sitting area as well as the apartment sized refrigerator for our winery & brewery finds. The breakfasts served were absolutely delicious, enjoyed on both the veranda porch & inside dining room. The innkeeper, chef & server added to our enjoyment with pleasantries & additional info on the house & area.

Home away from home

5 on June 30, 2016

There were a total of 6 in our party for 5 nights at the Green Gables Inn (GGI). Chef Andi and her sister, Jill were our hostesses. We were treated with gracious hospitality from the time we first set foot inside the beautiful 1909 home, to the time we checked out. Our every need was met. We loved the fact we could choose menus, depending our the time, for breakfast. Before 8:00 AM - your "to go" breakfast was left in your refrigerator the evening before. 8:00 AM breakfast - a lighter breakfast. The 9:00 AM breakfast included fruit, freshly baked scones, and your main selection, as well as juices and coffee - it was a lot of delicious food. We worked with Chef Andi for a dinner at the Inn on our last night. WOW. They set us up outside on the front porch for dinner. Our first course was a kale Caesar salad. Main course - braised duck with cherry sauce - was spectacular. It was served on top of truffle mashed potatoes with a side of Chinese broccoli. Dessert was a homemade apple pie with berry gelato. All of us agreed that all the pastries were to die for. GGI was clean as a whistle, and updated for the modern traveler. The only downside at the Inn was that the WiFi was a bit slow, but it wasn't a bad thing - it's nice to be unplugged sometimes, especially in such a pleasant environment.

Beautiful Victorian style house right opposite to Whiteman College dorm. Lots of green surrounding, quiet neighborhood and close to downtown. Breakfast and dinner are delicious. Highly recommended!

Old in Walla Walla

3.6 on June 27, 2016

Nice room. Bed could use an update. Sheets were a little to much on the satin side but that is just a personal preference for both my hubby and I. It would be nice to have some soft music playing as you entered. I heard that from other couples as well. Food was good and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

4.8 on June 25, 2016

The B&B is totally delightful, from the staff to the Inn to the breakfast. It came highly recommended to us, and we would highly recommend it to others. Thank you.

Wine tasting visit to Walla Walla

3.6 on June 21, 2016

We came to Walla Walla to participate in the Cabernet Sauvignon Festival. Green Gables was ideally located - near to the center of town and the outlying wineries. The B& B was emaculate and we would stay there again.

Fantastic Weekend Getaway

5 on June 11, 2016

Green Gables Inn exceeded expectations in every way. The home was beautiful old and charming. The grounds are well maintained and our room was large, clean, cozy, and modern but keeping true with the homes character. The innkeeper at the time, Ciera, was very welcoming, extremely helpful and did a fantastic job of making us feel at home. This made for a very pleasant stay.

Great place to stay

A slice of paradise

5 on June 03, 2016

Charming and friendly and simply delightful. An extremely late arrival was well handled and kindly supported the next morning with a delicious breakfast despite missing order submission. Food scrumptious and setting idyllic-breakfast on tables on the veranda with gentle breezes and lovely gardens. Chef and server so hospitable and allowed us extremely late check out. Triple thumbs up on this spot!

Best B & B in Walla Walla

4.8 on June 02, 2016

On our annual wine-tasting trip to Walla Walla, our group of 8 stayed at Green Gables for the first time. All the rooms were gorgeous & the staff pleasant & helpful. Chef Andi made us a special dinner (duck with a cherry Merlot sauce) one night and it was amazing. It will definitely become part of our trips to Walla Walla!

What a B&B should be

5 on May 30, 2016

The Seven Gales was a delight. Walking through the front door we felt as though we were home. They made everything seem effortless. The room was very comfortable, well maintained and the breakfasts were better than home cooking. We'll be back!

Wonderful rooms and meals!

5 on May 23, 2016

All the staff at Green Gables give personalized attention to each guest. Feels like staying in a home away from home. Food is exquisitely served, tasty, and wholesome. Rooms are always clean and easy to feel at home.

Beautiful room, fine staff, just a few tweaks needed

4.6 on May 19, 2016

We loved the room (Idlewild), and the staff were very nice and helpful. The only downside was that in the morning we woke at 6, not realizing there was no coffee service until 7:15 so we picked some up at Starbucks. A Kuerig or other self-serve machine downstairs would have been nice. Also, the breakfast menu looked delicious (though only one non-egg choice), but it wasn't served until 9 and we had a 10am meeting, so we ended up going out for breakfast. (They do offer an earlier light breakfast, but again it was an egg entre, and I don't eat eggs.) But we'll be back, given how lovely the home and room were.

Innkeeper Response
We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay in the beautiful Idlewild Suite. I apologize that our staff did not inform you about our complimentary self-serve French press and tea that is available to our guests 24/7 at the beverage center. We hope that you were able to enjoy the complimentary snacks at the beverage center during your visit. Our chef is always happy to accommodate dietary restrictions and while advanced notice is always appreciated, a non-egg entrée option can be modified at anytime for almost any breakfast selection. The next time you come to visit we hope you take full advantage of our breakfast and all of our amenities at the Inn and look forward to your return stay!

- Alexis (Innkeeper)

Very nice place for a romantic winery weekend

4.2 on May 16, 2016

Located conveniently near the center of Walla Walla, Green Gables Inn is very nice. Our room was large for two people, the bed was quite comfortable, and the included breakfast was delicious. The shower got a bit cold during primetime (30 minutes before breakfast) and the TV wasn't high definition...but we weren't there to watch TV! The staff is very friendly, and very accommodating. I would definitely stay there again, and recommend to my friends.

Lovely b&b

4.6 on May 15, 2016

We enjoyed staying at this lovely B&B. It was an easy walk to downtown and located in a beautiful neighborhood.

Very Nice Place

3.6 on May 03, 2016

I am pretty critical when reviewing and always attempt to accurately express how I feel. My mid to low ratings for Rooms, Service and Value are based solely on the price of the room and what I paid for a small flower arrangement, cheese tray and bottle of wine. While nice the money could have better been spent elsewhere. But at the end of the day if you can deal with the quirkyness of updated older buildings this was a very nice place in an awesome neighborhood and an easy walk from downtown. It was too cold during our visit to enjoy the wrap around porch but I will say it would have been great to relax and eat breakfast on a warm summer morning.

Best B&B ever!

5 on April 28, 2016

Beautiful rooms with antique furnishings, professional staff, outstanding meals both breakfasts and dinner.

Loved our visit there

4.2 on April 27, 2016

We spent three great days at the Green Gables Inn. It's a wonderful, 107-year old mansion in a beautiful neighborhood, directly across from Whitman College. We stayed in the Carriage House, separate from the Inn itself, and the room didn't quite have the charm of the rooms in the Inn, but it was large and comfortable. Breakfasts were terrific. We'd love to return, but would hope to stay inside the Inn next time.

Green Gables Review

4.8 on January 11, 2016

The staff was very friendly and met our every need. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Loved the modern upgrades in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, the bedding was really soft and the room had charm. The breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful B & B.

My husband and I went wine tasting in November and chose Green Gables by chance. What good luck! The house was lovely, food delicious, and the hosts were so helpful. Very high recommendations from us.

Best B&B in Walla Walla

5 on December 23, 2015

We make frequent trips to Walla Walla to visit our daughter and Green Gables Inn is our favorite and first choice place to stay. The manager/owner Alexis is always attentive and the rooms are spacious and comfortable, all with newly upgraded bathrooms. It is within a couple of blocks of Whitman College or a stroll downtown. Breakfasts are served at your selected time and are always homemade, original and delicious. Book well in advance if you plan to stay during summer or college-related dates, such as parent's weekend. A lovely night in Walla Walla

What a beautiful and comfortable house! We were the only guests that night and had the whole place to ourselves. Highly recommended!!

Fantastic Stay!

5 on November 07, 2015

I stayed at Green Gables while I was in town for a conference and it was the perfect choice. It's located by campus and a few blocks from downtown. I stayed in the Carriage House and loved how private it was. You choose what you want for breakfast so you know every morning you get exactly what you want.

Cute, cozy and friendly

5 on October 09, 2015

We are happy return customers. Spent three nights here for a college reunion. The location is perfect for walking to Whitman College, downtown Walla Walla (and its many wine tasting rooms) and my favorite antiques store, Shady Lawn Creamery. All of our breakfasts were delicious, with beautiful presentation and interesting guests to talk to.

Best stay on a two-week western tour.

5 on October 07, 2015

I was traveling alone so chose the smaller room in the back. It was delightfully quiet and comfortable. My delicious breakfast awaited me in front of the fire in the inn's stunning common area. Because there was no one checking into the room on the day of my departure, the innkeeper invited me to linger over coffee on the big front porch, reading, while a restive breeze rustled the leaves of trees lining Bonsella Street.

A truly wonderful stay

5 on October 03, 2015

My stay at Green Gables Inn was exceptional. The property is gorgeous and my room was beautiful. It's located within walking distance to town although you could just spend the whole day within the Inn and the gardens! Great facilities and attention to detail....and terrific service.

A Great Place To Stay

5 on August 25, 2015

We felt very special just staying here. The room was recently remodeled, and the shower is out-of-this world It is a very quiet mansion, and you don'e hear anything around you. The breakfast in the morning was worth it. It was fun eating with other people staying there, and sharing breakfast with them. It added to the charm of the place.

Wine tasting get-away

4.4 on December 12, 2014

This B&B was a great place to stay for a wine tasting get away in Walla Walla. The lovely old home has been restored and was done so very nicely. The rooms were done in a manner very appropriate to the age of the house. The common areas were beautiful and comfortable for lounging or visiting. The host, Alexis, was extremely pleasant and helpful, and the breakfast meals were absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful Stay

5 on November 13, 2014

Beautiful house with very friendly staff and excellent breakfast!

I love Green Gables

5 on November 12, 2014

My name is Denise, and this was my second stay at Green Gables. Again, I was traveling solo to see my daughter at Whitman. I absolutely love this place. Alexis and Andi are superb and subtle hostesses. The food is excellent, and the house is classically beautiful and very comfortable. I almost don't like giving them a review so I can keep it all to myself, but the cat is out of the bag. People all over Trip Advisor and Expedia have already expressed their love. I would live there if I could.

Always stay at The Green Gables when in Walla Walla

5 on October 28, 2014

It feels like home, only better. The house is beautifully appointed, in keeping with tradition and seasonal décor. The rooms are quiet, even when the house is full. You feel so at home, it's very comfortable sitting in the parlor and living areas, making yourself a cup of tea, or pouring a glass of wine. Service is outstanding and the food is incredible.

Great B&B

4.8 on September 22, 2014

My wife and I spent four nights at the Green Gables B&B. It is a charming craftsmen style house from the early 20th century. They always had a choice of four items for our breakfast main courses. The dishes were tasty and original. My favorite was the bleu cheese and bacon eggs benedict. We had a claw foot tub in our room which was great after a strenuous day of wine tasting. The B&B is near Whitman College and an easy walk to down town. I highly recommend choosing this B&B and I would certainly go there again.

Great Stay In Wine Country

4.4 on September 22, 2014

Set in a quiet residential area in walking distance to downtown Walla Walla, Green Gables is an excellent base for exploring the wine country. The rooms are larger than most B&B's and have amazingly comfortable beds. The food is very good and more imaginative than most B&B's and had vegetarian and gluten free options. If you like good coffee, the French press coffee beats Starbucks. The common areas are very comfortable including the sweeping front porch which is ideal for reading. The innkeeper is gracious and helpful as is her staff. Definitely a top tier B&B.

Stately, yet lovely and inviting!

4.2 on September 15, 2014

A very nice B&B, clean and well prepared food. Highly Recommended.

Walla Walla hidden gem

5 on September 15, 2014

Off the beaten path, but close to downtown. Great food, helpful innkeeper..pleasant stay! Much better than a chain hotel..more intimate...

Charming B&B within walking distance to downtown

4.4 on September 08, 2014

This hotel was booked by a friend, so I didn't know what to expect. Very charming, quiet location and nice street. Breakfast was delicious. My only complaint, and it is small, is that there is not a thermostat in each room. So you cannot control the temperature. Other than that, perfect!

Two thumbs up!

4.6 on September 08, 2014

Green Gables Inn is a well run B&B, and I have no hesitation in recommending it. Alexis Buckley, operator/innkeeper, is most accommodating and pleasant. Do not hesitate to stay at Green Gables. My wife and I enjoyed Dryad's Bubble, and will book it again. Jay J, Redmond, OR

My First B&B Experience

4.8 on September 03, 2014

Beautiful B&B--totally enjoyed the older home but updated bathroom. It was the best of both worlds. I wasn't sure what to expect in the way of breakfast, but the food was delicious. Andi did a wonderful job of making everything tasty and appealing to the eye. Alexis was a wonderful "hostess" and very accommodating. I would stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family.

We had a delightful time at this charming inn. The room and bathroom was wonderful. Loved the many heads on the shower. The food was delicious and attractive.

Wonderful Stay in a beautiful B&B

5 on August 11, 2014

Alexis and Andi made our stay wonderful. Alexis was a wonderful hostess and Andi made the breakfast memorable. This is a very nice inn and Walla Walla is a quiet and engaging city in the summer. Overall, this is a much better experience than commercial alternatives. Nice company and personalized hospitality make a lot of difference. Green Gables is a super representative of what a B&B inn should be. Many thanks to them.

Great food, pleasant location, excellent staff.

4.8 on August 07, 2014

We enjoyed a 2-night get-away at this pleasant retreat. The facilities were very good, with a classic antique entryway and downstairs. The bathrooms were excellent as was the main parlor. The decorations in the rooms were a bit fluffy - almost 70s at times, and I thought that the carpet was probably due for replacement, but overall it exceeded my expectations and was a great value. The AC was working well which was good as it was HOT (close to 100 during the day). Parking at the side of the facility was convenient and the staff was both friendly and helpful. They had all of the traveler information which one could hope for. Overall, and excellent choice should you be staying in Walla Walla.

Relax in a timeless mansion!

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast

5 on July 29, 2014

Green Gables Inn We stayed at Green Gables Inn during a wine tasting weekend. Our room was clean, well maintained, and cheerful. The neighborhood in which the inn is located felt safe and was within walking distance to downtown. Breakfast was delicious and I appreciated being given a choice rather than the usual one breakfast fits all menu. The innkeeper was very helpful and open to our questions and needs. We will stay at Green Gables Inn during our next visit to Walla Walla.

Restful, Romantic, and Rejuvenating

Nice room, great food, and good company. Excellent suggestions from Alexis on things to do and see in the area. Breakfast on the porch was a genuine treat.

Don't Hesitate, Stay here

Beautiful old mansion, fantastic breakfasts, close to fine dining. What a great weekend we had! The only bit of advice we have for your stay is to choose "chef's choice" on the breakfast selection card. Trust us on this one, you will be in love with the chef!

Enjoyed our stay

Wonderful stay!

We completely enjoyed our stay at the Green Gables. A lovely, historic home convenient to everything in Walla Walla, with a completely engaging and wonderful host--who provided great dining and entertainment tips.

a delightful B&B in a beautiful neighborhood.....

4.8 on July 11, 2014

Lovely public rooms, a great breakfast one day out on the porch, the next inside in the dining is EXCELLENT, but waaay too much per person......only deficit is the lack of a garden to sit in....our room was large, sitting area and TV facing bed....would have liked it facing sitting area since my husband goes to bed earlier than I and I had to move a chair in front of the TV to have sound low enough for him to sleep....service was wonderful....would stay again when in Walla Walla....

It's just like the pictures.

Nice room. Quiet. Excellent service. Nice people. You can walk to town or down to Pioneer Park. Beautiful neighborhood. Big old shade trees. Beautiful well preserved house.

I have been going to B&B's all over the world for the last 23 years and it is with great pleasure that I write this review! The Green Gables Inn is the BEST B&B that I have stayed at. It is a wonderful place inside and out filled with warmth and beauty that is apparent by the care given by it's staff and the overall feel as you enjoy the comfortable rooms, common areas and garden that surrounds it. It is in the perfect location/neighborhood and in walking distance of main streets shops and great restaurants. The food by Chef Andi was wonderful and generous and Alexis was happy to fill our every need and went above and beyond to make my parents and husband/I welcome and satisfied as we celebrated our anniversaries. I know we WILL return here many times as the future unfolds!

Walla Walla Wine Weekend

4.0 on June 25, 2014

Green Gables was very comfortable and gorgeous. The innkeepers were outgoing and service oriented. The chef was ill for the second breakfast, so they had a replacement that was suitable, but was able to fill our breakfast requests as hoped. Charming setting in a nice residential neighborhood.

Lovely Staying at Green Gables

5 on June 25, 2014

Green Gables Inn is such a charming inn. Immediately you feel relaxed and comfortable upon arrival, as if you're at your home away from home. Alexis and Andi are very attentive to any needs and special requests you may have. Staying here with the the delicious gourmet breakfasts, super soft bath towels, and fabulous bed is better than staying in a thousand dollar hotel suite with room service.

Wine Tasting Weekend

5 on June 12, 2014

Once again, Alexis and Andi surpass our expectations! We were visiting for our one-year wedding anniversary. We stayed in Dryad's Bubble, with its newly remodeled bathroom. Five shower heads makes it VERY difficult to want to leave the room for breakfast. However, the breakfast selection was enough to coax us away from the room. We stayed two nights and the breakfast each morning was amazing. I will always recommend this place. They are awesome and the place is spotless. FIVE STAR ALL THE WAY!

Perfect weekend!

5 on May 30, 2014

Absolutely everything about my stay at the Green Gables Inn was perfect. The house, the neighborhood, the wraparound porch, the room, the bed....I could go on and on. This is a weekend staying at your best friends house who is the perfect hostess, spotless housekeeper, amazing cook and charming friend. I highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful visit. Beautiful Home. Great Food.

Best in Walla Walla

5 on May 26, 2014

This was the first time in a Bed and Breakfast for us. I want to tell you it was a wonderful experience. The room, service and the breakfast was way above outstanding. The service was awesome, always available and friendly if had a question. We loved to take walks and downtown Walla Walla was within walking distance.

What a jewel

5 on May 20, 2014

Comfortable, beautiful, the food was amazing. The neighborhood is gorgeous and quiet. Close to downtown. Easy to sit in the common rooms and be comfortable to have tea and read. Complimentary tea, coffee, water, wine and tasty treats.

Green Gable in May

5 on May 09, 2014

We have stayed many places in Walla Walla and this was our first stay at Green Gables. It was really wonderful, and Alexis was very pleasant and helpful. (We never would have discovered Dora's Deli at the Worm Farm without her - amazing Mexican food!) The Green Gables location is perfect for anything you'd like to do in Walla Walla. We will go back for sure!

Quaint and Generous

4.6 on April 24, 2014

The experience that my Fiance and I had at Green Gables was exceptional. The Inn was so quaint and so quiet. We were there for the Road Racing for the Tour of Walla Walla, so my athletic Fiance really need to be well rested. He also had some food sensitivities that Andi was able to meet. It was also my Birthday this same weekend, so they set up a special private Breakfast for us on my day to celebrate together over a meal in front of the cozy fire. This house was so gorgeous and the grounds really well kept. You can tuck up in a few places to enjoy a cup of tea or a read. It's super close to town, so you can walk easily to all the restaurants, tasting rooms and other activities. We rode our bikes most days to the wineries and enjoyed the beautiful, scenic roads from there. Value-wise, this place is incredible. You get a beautiful breakfast served with baked goods (lavender and white chocolate scones, oh my) and an assortment of refreshment including juice, coffee, tea, you name it. In the afternoon you can indulge in a glass of wine and perhaps some treats from the tea service they leave for their guests. We will absolutely stay again next year. My background was in luxury hospitality as a hotel reviewer, and this place hits all the right marks when it comes to service, experience and surprises. Not to mention both Andi and Alexis are wonderful hosts.

first time at GG

4.0 on April 23, 2014

The room was neat and clean but the wooden chairs were not comfortable to sit in due to worn springs and cushions. We sat in the downstairs living room to read and the chairs were comfortable but lighting could have been better for reading at night. Reservations and check in were easy and problem-free. Breakfast was top notch and loved the French press coffee. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Didn't want to stay in a boring hotel...

5 on April 14, 2014

We loved our room—fireplace, balcony, and a super comfy bed with lovely soft sheets. It was a "date" weekend (after 22 years of marriage, you have to plan these romantic getaways) and we made it even more special by ordering breakfast in our room. They set up a table and brought everything to us—delicious, warm, and intimate. Conveniently located to restaurants for dinner and a walking tour after breakfast. We will be back!

Outstanding B&B near Whitman College in Walla Walla

5 on April 12, 2014

A beautiful old home walking distance from campus where we could lounge at night in our room or in the spacious downstairs and dine the following morning to a gourmet French-themed breakfast and good conversation among guests. Alexis, the proprietor, and the chef are filled with enthusiasm and good cheer. The atmosphere is homey yet elegant and very, very comfortable, one of the softest, plushest beds we have ever slept in.

Don't miss this beautiful B&B!

5 on April 01, 2014

We just spent a fun filled weekend in Walla Walla and stayed at the Green Gables B&B. It is an amazingly beautiful and gorgeously kept old Tudor in a wonderful neighborhood, not far from downtown. The owner, Alexis, is extremely accommodating, as is her staff. Being able to order off of a menu for our delicious breakfasts was a big bonus and we enjoyed our meals with a room full of interesting and friendly guests. The continuously stocked bar full of soda, water, coffee tea, wine and homemade goodies was a bonus. The grounds are inviting and immaculate and that huge wrap around porch just beckons you in. We had a wonderful room with crisp linens and our own bathroom. The mansion itself is a must see. It has been restored to perfection and the woodwork is amazing. If you are visiting Walla Walla, don't pass up this B&B. Staying there was definitely one of the highlights of our weekend!

wonderful and will go again!

5 on March 23, 2014

An amazing home, luxurious and cozy, immaculate and intimate, that was extremely pleasurable to stay in. Excellent breakfast, beautifully presented. The owner was hospitable without being intrusive, very helpful and amiable. When we had to depart at 5am, the cook was up well before, preparing a breakfast to go for us that was wonderful. A very well run operation. I would not hesitate to recommend this place.

Green Gables Inn

5 on September 19, 2013

My husband treated me to a birthday weekend at the Green Gables Inn this past weekend. We could not have been happier with our stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast. Our room was very comfortable and impeccably clean. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and yet respected our privacy. The inn is a quiet and restful retreat with beautiful common areas for relaxing or visiting with other guests. The best part of our visit, however, was the delicious breakfast that was served to us at our own private table on the veranda! The plating and freshness of the food rivaled our dinner the previous night at a highly rated local restaurant. The Green Gables breakfast was definitely our best meal of the trip! My husband and I will definitely be returning to the Green Gables Inn.

A most delightful Bed & Breakfast

5 on July 10, 2013

Our first visit to Walla Walla proved to be a most delightful time in part because of the folks at the Green Gable Inn. From the moment we arrived till the time we departed we were made to feel special. The entire house is beautiful from our room that was bright and comfortable to the porch sitting on a warm summer night, and topping it off with a delicious breakfast exquisitely prepared by Andi. We most certainly would stay there again. We're already talking about a fall visit during the harvest and the Green Gable Inn is part of our plan.

A hidden gem in Walla Walla

5 on July 04, 2013

Our weekend stay at The Green Gables Inn was perfect! Alexis was a wonderful hostess and Andi's breakfasts were amazing. Alexis upgraded our room due to a late cancellation and the room was beautifully decorated with a soft, comfortable bed. We have already made our reservations for next May when our son graduates from Whitman College and can't wait to go back with our family.

Green Gables and WW Wines

Our stay at Green Gables was very comfortable, friendly, roomy, well-appointed and ideal for us all - 6 friends who arranged to meet at Green Gables B&B in Walla Walla. Our plan took us a few years to get going -- the result was fabulously worth while! Great place to stay, I heartily recommend it (and the town & wineries of Walla Walla)!

Amazing Experience

5 on May 25, 2013

6 of us from an Olympia wine group stayed at Green Gables this past week while we toured different wineries in Walla Walla. Upon arrival there was a lovely and yummy assortment of baked goods in our room along with a bottle of wine...Andi, the chef does an amazing job of breakfast and treats... The rooms are lovely and I was in the Idlewild which is the largest and has a sitting room with fireplace and large outside deck with nice furniture...The beds and linens were plush and a treat to experience. Alexis was so welcoming and everything from the reservation making to presenting the final bill was done accurately and swiftly. We felt so welcome at Green Gables and would not hesitate to return or recommend it to others..If you want to feel like you are royalty then consider staying here and letting Alexis and Andi take care of you!! The breakfasts were amazing with a great variety and scones and muffins freshly baked every morning. Thanks again

Wonderful place to stay in Walla Walla

5 on April 03, 2013

Beautiful Inn near Whitman College. Alexis is a welcoming innkeeper who obviously loves being of service. Our room was beautiful with views of the tree lined streets. The common area is large and has plenty of spaces to cuddle up with a book. There was a pantry that had complimentary soda, water coffee and teas with chocolates (my kids enjoyed this). Lastly the morning breakfast was fantastic! We were able to choose from several items. We had the banana pancakes with fresh whipped cream and blueberry syrup. Others chose from savory bread puddings and frittatas. The table was set with additional muffins, scones and choice of fresh juices. Would stay again anytime I visit Walla Walla!

Walla Walla Getaway

4.2 on March 29, 2013

My wife and I arrived at Green Gables Inn to find the host busy working in the flower bed. The early blooming flowers helped to decorate this stately bed and breakfast. A glass of wine and homemade chocolates were a delectable snack before bedtime. Our room was decorated with beautiful antiques and the bed had plenty of soft pillows. We really appreciated the quiet neigborhood location and enjoyed a night of uninterrupted sleep. The next morning a wonderful and filling breakfast awaited us. (We had the choice of 4 different entree's!) Both host and chef provided good and friendly service. We will definitely stay at the Green Gables Inn when passing through Walla Walla again.

Charming weekend getaway!

My husband and I just returned from a weekend stay at Green Gables Inn in Walla Walla, Washington. This little B & B is an absolute gem! The Innkeeper, Alexis, is over the top in attentiveness and attention to detail while her chef, Andi, creates the most delicious - and elegant - breakfasts! The self-service butler's pantry was a wonderful surprise as were the dessert tray and bottle of wine awaiting us in our room. We will definitely return to Walla Walla and the Green Gables Inn is the only place we will stay!

Wonderful B & B in the wine country

5 on March 22, 2013

Green Gables is an ablolutely beautiful old home and I would highly recommend staying here while visiting the Washington wine country! My husband and I stayed in the large and beautifully furnished "Idlewilde" room which had a king bed (very comfortable with high quality bedding) a fireplace, jacuzzi tub, and private deck. A welcome bottle of wine with the necessary accompaniments as well as goodies were awaiting us on a silver tray when we arrived in the room. Breakfast was served in a lovely dining room on an antique table with beautiful china. Every morning: A bowl of mixed fresh fruits, multiple juices, coffee and tea, home-baked scones and muffins. The evening before, we selected from four choices off the entree menu.....I would highly recommend the banana pancakes with fresh blueberry syrup! Wine, coffee, tea and cookies are available in the butler's pantry 24/7. Alexis is a lovely and attentive hostess who resides next door and is only a phone call away if there are any questions when she's not in the house

Every detail of our stay was perfect. We felt that we were quite literally in a world apart from the demands and expectations of everyday life. Quiet, gracious, lavish. Green Gables Inn wraps itself around you like a favorite blanket. In fact, there WAS a special blanket hanging by our bedroom fireplace for snuggling. What a treasure is this lovely "sanctuary from the world". I think doctors should give out prescriptions to stay here for stress relief!

Our stay was so enjoyable that we're already talking about a return trip.

A Great Choice

Close to Whitman yet on a quiet tree lined street. Coming in Mid October gave us a view of a real Fall, something we rarely see in Southern California. The rooms were wonderful and the Craftsman style made coming back a must. Great food too!

Look forward to coming back.

Alexis is very accomodating - even drove me downtown when I had my suitcase with me. The breakfasts were yummy. The room was nice and I slept very well. Great location - residential neighborhood just a few blocks from Whitman campus. I walked through campus (which is lovely) to get to Main Street and my meeting at the Marcus Whitman. Exactly one mile and it was a lovely walk.

Womderful B&B

A nice B&B, gracious hostess, great location

4.0 on October 07, 2012

We stayed in the Birch Path room, which was large and comfortable. We appreciated Alexis and her attentiveness. We needed early check in, and were graciously accommodated. There is a book case upstairs stocked with the most intriguing collection of books! Downstairs, there is a small butler's pantry which is stocked with self service beverages, snacks and wine.We spend a lovely afternoon sipping Green Gables white out on the wrap around front porch, with the inn's friendly kitty on our laps, gazing at the charming garden. If you are inclined, the grand gathering room is stocked with board games, puzzles and reading materials. Wish we had had more time to relax there, but our weekend activities kept us pretty busy. The breakfast menu provides a nice variety of items to choose from. I had Meyer Lemon Pancakes with blackberry sauce, and my companion chose the Breakfast BLT. Both were satisfying and well prepared, served on pretty china. The dining room is elegant but comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with our Canadian table mate, and lingered over coffee. What a welcome contrast to the serve-yourself-from-a-toaster-and-plastic-container breakfast you get at hotel chains. The Green Gables is close to everything, but set in a neighborhood of lovely old mansions, you might feel like you've stepped back in time.

A very pleasant place

My wife and I stayed at Green Gables for two nights in mid-September. The outstanding service began as soon as I made reservations. Alexis sent information on restaurants and wineries and tours along with my reservation confirmation. She greeted us personally upon our arrival and spent some time telling us about Green Gables and its history. We stayed in the Idlewild Room and enjoyed a glass of wine on the balcony during a warm evening. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the way the character of the Inn has been preserved. We also liked the fact it was surrounded by so many old, tall trees. Our request for a modification to the breakfast menu was graciously accepted. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Green Gables.

We have just returned from a great trip to Walla Walla. The Green Gables Inn was perfect and we recommend it to everyone who ventures to Walla Walla. Alexis, our host, was very gracious and went beyond our expectations. The wonderful breakfasts were exceptional and at times we felt as if we were in a five star resort. Historic home, very quiet, great location to downtown, and good air conditioning!

Spent two nights at Green Gables in August 2012. Temperatures during the day was 99%. The air conditioning in the inn was great. Quiet, and efficient. We were greeted by Alexis and her little son who was charming. What a way to make a visitor feel like they were in a home! Breakfasts were awesome. Had some "issues" in the kitchen the first morning but with Andi's delightful personality and many apologies it was worth the wait. The second morning it was smooth sailing in the kitchen and the food delicious.

Wonderful Ways in Walla Walla

Our stay in this charming and beautiful town was wonderful and Green Gables Inn was a large part of this experience. The room was spotless and the bed extremely comfortable. The "public" rooms in the Inn are beautifully decorated. Breakfast was very good, but portions could be half the size and there would still be more than enough. Alexis was attentive and gracious. At our request, she even created a walking tour on Mapquest for us so we could explore the town on foot. Very highly recommended!

Delicious, delightful

4.6 on April 23, 2012

My wife and I stayed here a couple of nights while wine tasting in the Walla Walla area. Staying in this historic mansion was a highlight of the trip. Situated in a quiet neighborhood, it's a nice walk of about 10 minutes to get downtown. The proprietor, Alexis, was charming and helpful: When we mentioned we planned to have some cheese and snacks in our room that evening, we returned to find plates, cheese knives, wine glasses and cork screw laid out in our room on the sitting area coffee table. Besides a great room (Idlewild) with a large deck and a gas fireplace, a big wow for the breakfasts. Chef Andi turns out a variety of excellent, freshly made dishes that filled us up and kept us going well into the lunch hour. Try the marscapone-filled French toast covered with a fresh berry topping. If asparagus is in season, get it in whatever she makes. She also does a memorable zesty homemade chipotle sauce that you'll enjoy if you like a little spice with your breakfast. On our second morning, Alexis and Andi also offered to serve us breakfast in our room, to test out offering it to other guests. If they decide to do it going forward, take them up on it. It's a truly romantic start to the day. On their Facebook page, they had a picture of Zeppole (calling it an Italian doughnut hole doesn't do it justice), so I asked Andi about her grandmother's recipe and she made some for us. Crunchy, sugary, chewy goodness. Can't wait to go back when Andi has more seasonal ingredients available!

A colleague and I decided to stay in a B&B on a visit to Whitman College. I came across Green Gables Inn through a Google search of B&Bs in Walla Walla. Green Gables was mentioned in a New York Times article. The current owner recently took over the Inn. She is young. Her energy and vision are evident in how she cares for details. The small touches set apart this historic Inn. My colleague and I were the only guests this past Sunday night/Monday morning. My suite (Idlewild) was huge and very comfortable. It has a fireplace and a private balcony with its own sitting area. My colleague stayed in a very comfortable room, as well, Dryad's Bubble. Monday morning's breakfast came in two stages: the continental was set up when I got up: juices, yogurt, pastries, coffee and tea, granola. The hot breakfast came out about 8:30: Citrus French Toast, Maple Sausage, fresh fruit. It was a great stay. This would be a great place to bring friends for a wine-country adventure. Walla Walla has some notable restaurants. It's certainly up and coming as a wine region. The winter weather is much better than that of Seattle. And, it's not as pricey as Napa. I recommend this for anyone looking for an off-the-beaten-path holiday.
