I've stayed in dozens of B&Bs, and this is the first time I've felt the need to write a review. River House B&B will from now on be the standard to which I compare any B&Bs where I stay in the future. The setting is quiet and beautiful. The house is comfortable and welcoming. Chris & Larry are perfect hosts. One other thing, you won't need lunch after you eat Chris's delicious breakfast. Joe Parsons Tulsa, OK

We were there for our anniversary, and had an awesome time!! Chris and Larry are so welcoming and they spoil you rotten. They give you just the right amount of privacy but make sure you do not need or want for anything. The house and the view are beautiful. We could not have asked for the week to be any better!!!

We stay in the bungalow for 3 night (June 2015). We slept in. Breakfast ready shortly after we got up. Plenty of food. Fruit, muffins, eggs and bacon. We relaxed in e hammocks. Read in the breezeway and took a short stroll on one of the trails connected to their property. The B&B sits right on the river. It is such a peaceful setting. Thn you Chris and Larry for a wonderful stay

Larry and Chris demonstrated incredible hospitality when we stayed at their b&b. They know how to cater to the guest while still giving them their privacy. Their home is lovely something to marvel at. They have a great patio with a large fireplace to hang out at and if you want something a bit more quiet the beach is beautiful and a wonderful spot to just relax at. The food is AMAZING!! Chris seems to be the primary cook and is very talented. Larry can make a mean chicken dinner as well. If you're looking for a great b&b in the northwest, look no further, you've found it

I finished with tax season on Wednesday and my daughter was making a conference presentation on Saturday. We missed a flight but Larry was kind enough to wait up for us and started trying to get us to start eating Chris's delicious cooking. We slept in for the next two days. I would sit outside and watch the river white cap. Chris and Larry have several seating locations including two hammocks. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended our stay through Tuesday. This trip was definitely needed for my sanity. My husband and I will definitely be back to visit and become spoiled by both Chris and Larry

Last Summer(2014) we have been staying for 2 nights at the River house B&B as the first European guests. The first moment we arrived we already regret the fact we booked for only 2 nights! The fantastic owners Chris and Larry offered us to stay in the cabin for the same rate as the double room because the kitchen floor was being cleaned during our stay. The location, the house itself... It's a dream! We crossed the river from the other side back to the house, walked through the woods, relaxed at the river side. There was no time enough to explore the total picture so we have to come back one day! Chris and Larry made us feel like family and have a great sense of serving you at the right moment and respect your privacy at the same time. It was wonderful!
It was so fun having our first "European" guests! ....and they couldn't be any nicer! Although all our wood floors had to be refinished due to flooding; we made the best of best times out it. Barbequeing out on the back river porch, sharing wine and visiting into the warm summer night is an awesome memory. We've even installed air-conditioning in the Bungalow a couple months ago; so it's even more cozy :o) We hope to see you both again someday.... and get a chance to cook in my kitchen and really spoil you! Till then........ Chris & Larry

We stayed in the bungalow for Valentine's Day and it was simply perfect. The second we arrived, Larry and Chris welcomed us like we were family. We were able to sit down on the swing by the river with blankets, wine, and snacks. Chris made us an amazing dessert, and the breakfast the next morning was outstanding. Beautiful table settings, fantastic home-cooked meals...you'll feel like you're being spoiled back home again. We will absolutely be returning!!! Thank you Chris and Larry! - Chris and Denise

My wife and I stayed in the Bungalow Suite over Mother's Day weekend, and it was such a delightful experience that we have already booked for next year. Based upon the website descriptions and photos, I definitely anticipated an extremely comfortable and beautiful setting. Those expectations were definitely met and exceeded, and everything we ate and drank was simply mouth watering. But the truly pleasant surprise was how eager Chris and Larry were to go more than the extra mile to meet our needs and make us feel at home. For me the trip to Spokane was partly for business, and our hosts even helped to make my business venture more successful. Here's the thing. If you want one of those "leave me alone" experiences (and we all need that at times), Larry and Chris will definitely respect that need and serve you unobtrusively. Just go sit by the river and let your stresses float away downstream. But if you like making new friends, you won't find any better people than these two warm souls. They are wonderful hosts and just plain "good folk," and we are looking forward to spending more time with them in the future. Do yourself a favor and book a stay at the River House. You'll be glad you did!
.....and you two are absolutely the best guests to have too! We had so much fun having you here; and really look forward to your next visit. It was sad seeing you two leave after your stay; it was like awesome family having you here. It's also a pleasure & honor to know we made your stay relaxing and fulfilling... and here I am thinking of ways we can make it better the next time! We look forward to seeing you guys again! ..... safe travels & a good day to you till we meet again

I stayed with the Carlsons upon my visit to the Spokane Volleyball Qualifier, and I was absolutely blown away with the FIVE STAR treatment that Chris and Carl provided. I love your house. Better than a five star hotel. Chris baked cookies and pie for my girls volleyball team. Wine and cheese galore plus we had an acoustic guitar jam session on my final night. This was nirvana. I wanted to extend my stay but had to return with the team. I was treated like family. Making new friends is hat I love best about traveling but Chris and Carl became family. Love you guys and I need to come back ASAP! Mahalo nui loa, FIVE STARS ON ALL CATEGORIES I WOULD GIVE YOU A SIX IF IT EXISTS.p.s. Chris you fed me like a king! Seven years of club volleyball traveling and I have never been more well rested and refreshed for the next day of competition. It was well worth the drive to and from town. Yours truly ray k.
Mr. Ray..... it was absolutely wonderful having you here and sharing our home with you. It was totally fun being the "behind the scenes" cheer leaders for your daughters volleyball team, and making sure you were taken care of so you could enjoy all of the games. So, since you are family now..... we truly look forward to seeing you again! Thank you so much for being a awesome guest Mr. Ray. Aloha :o) p.s. Please make sure you schedule for next years games before our two rooms fill up.

Huckleberry just about anything
Having a hobby of routing around in the deep woods of Montana & Idaho, we've grown to love picking wild huckleberries. The taste is unbeatable, hands down better than blue berries! While supplies last come share with us! Plus, growing up with 6 brothers, and being the only girl, Chris learned to bake and cook numerous & fantastic meal's... the ol' fashioned way.
