Devils Den Farm Homestay Bed and Breakfast

396 Vermont Rt 110 , Chelsea, VT 05038 USA (Show map)

Our classic farmhouse was built in 1921 by The Gilman's, Rhoda's grandparents. We have one double bed / plus small single bed room and one queen bed room each with private baths; one suite-one room with queen bed and one with two twins, which share one bathroom all these rooms are located upstairs; and one room with double bed and bath ground floor. As the owners Bill and Rhoda have moved to an adjunct apartment, the ground floor, including living room with TV and kitchen is now available for their guests to use. Our prices included use of our house, breakfast, and Vt. St. tax. We welcome groups, families, singles, to stay with us. Rooms have AC, hair dryers, wifi, hand made rugs and quilts, clock radios, antique furniture. The front porch is lined with flower boxes and rocking chairs for relaxing after a day of fun in Vermont. Check out Bill's antique tractors and Clara Gilman's [Rhoda's Mother] Vt. folk art carvings; our Vermont made Mayple Syrup made on the Rolfe Place property. Our farm consists of 65 acres of organic, valley and hilltop land with the First Branch of The White River flowing through the valley. The farm is named for a cave [The Devils Den Cave] located on the hillside behind the house.

Pleasant Find

4.4 on October 03, 2014

My husband and I stayed at the Devils Den twice in recent months, first visit on short notice, the return trip was planned. We enjoyed Rhoda and Bill's hospitality, the room and bath were clean and quiet, and breakfast was lite fair but the homemade baked goods were very tasty. Certainly worth the reasonable price.

Excellent, Quiet Place

Bill and Rhoda are very friendly and welcoming. They are both full of information about the area and gave us tips on how to get around. They also make and sell some very tasty Vermont Maple Syrup! The bedroom and bathroom were both in excellent shape, very clean and inviting. The bed was very comfortable too! Rhoda didn't have to, but she made our bed, cleaned the bathroom and put fresh towels out while we were out running around. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, muffins, coffee cake/blueberry bread, cereal, milk, and juice. It is a little out of the way, but we felt it was worth the price and the drive was beautiful. We would definitely stay there again. James and Elaine Kenney II Bellona, NY
