Newport House was a great place to stay. It's a short walk to everything you want to see. Also close to several restraints and a shopping area. John and Cathy are wonderful hosts. Breakfast was great and John was very entertaining at breakfast with all the history of Williamsburg.and beyond. We were able to watch the dancers on Tuesday night and it was great to watch dances from the 1700's. I would highly recommend this wonderful bed and breakfast.

We stayed at Newport House for three nights in early April and had a lovely time. The rooms were very comfortable and John and Cathy truly made us feel at home. The whole house is beautifully appointed and the gardens are a lovely place to spend a morning. The dining room is gorgeous, down to the china which serves John's exquisite breakfast...some nights, I dream about those pancakes!

Newport House is a gem. The innkeepers are incredibly kind and welcoming. John is full of stories interesting for the history buff and Cathy is an impressive gardener and a lot of fun. The rooms are outfitted with antiques and reproductions in beautiful condition. The bedding is beyond top notch and the beds are comfortable. A collection of movies appropriate to a historical vacation are available. As an example, one breakfast consisted of perfect fruit followed by waffles and an assortment of syrups. The inn bunny, Josephine Bunnyparts, has breakfast with you if you are animal friendly and so inclined. She's ridiculously adorable. It's a quick walk to the Merchant Square end of CW, but you will have to drive to the restaurants. We're a gay couple and we didn't feel even slightly unwelcome- I don't think the Millars would make anyone feel unwelcome.
