My husband and I stayed at Cedars of Williamsburg in late April as part of a driving trip from Pennsylvania to our home in Florida. We stayed in the George Washington Suite, which is a spacious room that also has a separate sitting room. This room is located on the first floor and is the closest room to the front door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The new owner Alex acted as host at breakfast and he made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Our breakfasts were very good, well prepared and presented. We highly recommend Cedars of Williamsburg. Be aware that the bathrooms tend to be small, typical for a home of its time period.

Our stay at Cedars was a pleasure. Alex was a gracious host and provided useful information about the area and local restaurants.

Just back from our 2nd stay at Cedars. Alex is a fantastic host. He and his staff make everyone feel so comfortable. It truly is like being a guest in his home. Breakfast is something to look forward too each morning. On Easter Sunday, Alex cooked a delicious ham accompanied with poached eggs in a "nest". Beautiful! The location is great, right across the street from the W&M campus and an easy walk to the historic district. Our granddaughter is finishing her first year at W&M and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else each time we visit for the next 3 years.

We stayed one night on the (small and inexpensive) Martha Washington room, while in Williamsburg for an exhibit at the art museum. The Cedars is directly across the street from the museum and the university. It is an easy walk to the old town with dining and shops. Breakfast was very tasty, but not overwhelming like it can be at B & Bs. For a longer stay, I'd recommend a larger room. Otherwise a big thumbs up.

This B&B was beautiful, nice "homey" feel. Housekeeping was super nice, and everything looked and smelled so clean! The only drawback was the breakfast. It was tasty, but there wasn't much offered.

We stayed in the Lincoln Room. We enjoyed it...just know that it's an old structure so the heating system and bathroom layout reflect the limitations of the old building.

We had a wonderful stay. The rooms were cozy and well-appointed, the food was delicious, and the owner was a gracious host.

The Cedars is located directly across from William and Mary and an easy walk to the historic area of Williamsburg. We only used our car for a side trip to Jamestown. The owners are a young couple who recently acquired the property. They are enthusiastic and working hard to make staying at their property a unique experience. While we were there, they tried several new, delicious recipes for breakfast. Our room was large with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was smallish, but this is an older building and to be expected. Everyone was friendly and accommodating.

A lovely history-filled house. About an 8 minute walk to Colonial Williamsburg, which makes a perfect location. Divine Breakfasts that were prepared for the taste buds to tingle. Alex and Laura (Innkeepers) are new to their position, but already obtaining raves in their talents.

We stayed here only one night but it was wonderful. We are new parents to a 7 week old baby girl and needed a nice, quiet night to ourselves. We received a warm welcome from Alex who was very nice. He explained that him & his wife are the new owners & are planning on updating the place. We noticed that some things did need to be updated however; we hope that they will keep the colonial charm/theme going. We stayed in the Martha Washington room. It's the smallest room in this B & B but it was very cozy. We would love to stay here again sometime in the future. The area is beautiful and there is so much to do & see all with in walking distance or a short drive.

We have stayed in many B & B's. This one is a period piece that is in excellent condition. Our room also had a small sitting area next to the main bedroom. The owners have only had The Cedars for less than two months but are trying very hard to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We would stay again. It is walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg and Alex the owner, a History teacher can share his knowledge gladly.

My son and I stayed here the night before his freshman orientation at William and Mary. The location was perfect, the breakfast delicious, and the room delightful while equipped with every modern convenience. Thank you for the hospitality, Alex. I will definitely stay here on all my future visits to Williamsburg!

My son and I were touring the college near by so we stayed at Cedars for its convenient location but boy was it so much more than that. The staff upgraded our room to a larger one at no extra cost and the George Washington Room was perfect. The breakfast was delicious- we ate until we were stuffed and the fun part of breakfast was celebrating birthdays and anniversaries with the other guests at the B &B. Bob took beautiful pictures of my son and me and the other guests. We felt at home and wished we could have stayed longer. It's also walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg. So over all an excellent choice for any traveler.

We had a wonderful at the Cedars and in Williamsburg. The location to Colonial Williamsburg and the College of William and Mary could not have been better as we were within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. Bob was a wonderful host, the food was very good, and the little touches here and there made it really special. Thanks for a great weekend. Hiram and Grace

I stayed here with my new fiance to celebrate our engagement which was earlier that day. It was a spectacular experience and one of the nicest stays I've ever had. The owner, Bob, was exceedingly friendly and genial. He made a point of congratulating me and my fiance, as well as taking a whole slew of complementary photos (many of which were quite creative and a lot of fun to take).Couldn't ask for a more delicious breakfast. The room, the Lord Boutetourt, was situated in a lovely cottage and was beautifully and tastefully decorated. Overall, an outstanding experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and memorable B&B stay in Williamsburg

Charming, historic and unique bed and breakfast conveniently located to the University of William and Mary and to Colonial Williamsburg. My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend and loved it! They even put up a small sign congratulating us in the foyer. Service was very friendly, breakfast was delicious and served buffet-style in the house's breakfast nook. The room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was small, but fit the character of the room. Overall great experience, would love to stay here again!

We stayed at the Cedars in April for three nights. When we arrived we were to fine out they upgraded our room at no charge. It was a very pleasant stay. The Breakfast was perfectly served in a very quaint room. The innkeeper was very friendly and served as a guide to the Williamsburg area. Pointing out and directing us to all the sites to see. He also told us about the history of the Inn and area. We would choose to stay there again if we go back to the area.

The location and ambience of this colonial inn are delightful. Bob and staff are friendly and helpful. The wooded property in the back with tables and gazebo create a lovely setting for quiet cocktails, picnic or reading. Beware of Bob's photography sessions after breakfast, before check out. Fun! When visiting Williamsburg, this is the place to be.

Without a doubt, stay at The Cedars!

Charm, history, a cozy, comfy setting. It's like staying with family-- the owner & staff make you feel special, pampered & looked after. Morning breakfasts were wonderful--homemade quiches & muffins, a beautiful fruit salad, eggs & a bottomless cup of coffee--started my day right!!! After a day touring, the welcoming fireplace is blazing, we snuggled in on the couch & shared a glass of wine before going to sleep. Highly recommend!

My third B&B, but none as intimate as The Cedars and no owner as engaging as Bob. From the facility being centrally locations to all the popular sites to Bob being fun-loving. By far, the best experience B&B ever! What a wonderful 2nd time around honeymoon!

We stayed five days and aside from its great location, the clean and lovely room with big comfortable bed, and beautiful gardens, the host made a point of noting my dietary issues and I had a delicious gluten-free breakfast every day, complete with a view of the birds and the squirrels putting on quite a show. The host likes to take photos of the guests at the start but it's all in good fun and done good-naturedly. A thoroughly pleasant experience.

My family of four (with a 10 & 12 year old) had a fabulous stay in the William & Mary Suite. It was such lovely home with comfy accommodations. We were amazed at how quiet it was at night, even with an almost full house!! We felt like we were staying at a friend's home. The warm cookies were a yummy welcome and the breakfast was delicious. Bob was a gracious host!! We would highly recommend Cedars if you are coming to Williamsburg!!

Well located, easy walking to the main attractions, beautiful garden. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfasts! Most guests seemed to be visiting as tourists or for celebrations. I was in Williamsburg for work — the best place for me to do my work was in the dining room after breakfast, which was fine, and good to feel like this was home, not a hotel room only!

We spent a wonderful, snowy weekend in the Christopher Wren room at The Cedars. We love bed and breakfast experiences because they are each such unique treasures with personal touches one doesn't find in a hotel, and the Cedars exemplifies this quality. Bob was a fantastic host with Dad-jokes aplenty (including the ambush photo session of spectacularly cheesy portraits I am saving for an appropriately embarrassing future date) and made our experience a real treat. Our room was beautifully appointed with an uncommonly comfortable king bed and homey, functional furnishings. Breakfast was outstanding both mornings and Bob bent over backwards to prepare vegetarian fare especially for me. The location was great and highly convenient to CW and William and Mary. The rooms do not include TVs, which we personally really appreciated, and the free wifi is strong enough to stream movies on a laptop if one so desires. I would recommend the Cedars to anyone looking for a weekend away, accommodations for a visit to William and Mary (fantastic for a parent weekend or admissions tours!), or a comfortable place to stay on business.
5 on January 05, 2015
Bob met us at the door, showed us around the premises. He was very helpful with any of our questions, offering info on activities in the area, as well as possible places to eat. Breakfast was fabulous, a gourmet delight! He was most accommodating when my husband's sister asked to visit us there for a couple of hours( lives in area). He and Grace could not do enough for us. We will be back!

The Cedars of Williamsbug B & B is ideally suited for anyone visiting the historic area, shopping at malls, First Night, the Grand Illumination, or any other reason to enjoy this beautiful and fascinating part of Virginia. Located across the street from the William & Mary campus, it offers quiet, comfortable amenities, with a staff and owners personally focused on providing you a first-rate B & B experience. Be assured that owner Bob Tubbs will make your feel welcomed throughout your stay, while providing fun for all. Don’t miss the Cedars Facebook page, with evidence of good-natured interaction between owners and guests. Our group loved or stay, and will return again.

I've never before slept in a bed I had to actually climb into, but that's what I did here. The rooms were beautifully appointed and the whole house felt like it had gone back in time--except for the modern appliances (the "necessaries"). I took away one star for dining because breakfast is the only meal served, but every day it offered something different and delicious. Delicious cookies in the afternoon and fresh coffee whenever you wanted it (thanks to the Keurig coffeemaker) were most welcome after a day of walking. Be ready to have your picture taken by owner Bob Tubbs--and used in a most charming way.

My husband booked our room at the Cedars for a trip to Williamsburg for an event I was taking part in. It was wonderful. The staff was friendly, gracious, and accommodating. Bob knew we would be out in the wee hours of the morning for my race and made certain to leave me supplies for a pre race meal. We went out for the morning and on our return we were greeted with a heartfelt "Welcome home" from the staff. This is far warmer and more inviting than the cursory nod or "Good Afternoon" one might receive at a large hotel--if in fact one is acknowledged in a large system. The breakfast we enjoyed was absolutely delicious and I found Bob to be warm and engaging with all of the guests. I adored the decor and grounds, very well kept and immaculate! I personally cannot wait for another reason to stay at The Cedars when in Williamsburg. I only live an hour away, but sometimes the change of scenery and historic venues are a great day spent. Not having to drive back home immediately would make a trip like that more fun.

We stayed here to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary. Our stay was fantastic and the staff was just amazing. Bob makes you feel like a kid again and LOVES taking pictures! We arrived late the first day but were immediately greeted. The staff member made dinner reservations for us and even altered their restaurant offerings so we could have a romantic dinner on Easter. Our host was very friendly and made sure we were having a great time. The room was nicely decorated and quiet but the biggest perk was being able to easily walk to Colonial Williamsburg. Loved it here and would definitely come back.

The one night getaway was a sweet surprise from my husband so we could celebrate our anniversary. We loved the room (top floor) and I am picky about comfy beds. Their bed was VERY comfortable. Would have liked an extra quilt though as we got a little chilly. a light on or near the vanity table in bathroom would be nice touch. Loved the fireplace but did not discover it til morning. Helped take chill out while we dressed for breakfast. Now best part was breakfast. the coffee, gourmet cuisine, the spoil me rotten great service.. and then the fun photos of everyone. incredible!!! we LOVE The Cedars and its wonderful owner Bob..

We have spent two nights, March 13, 14, 2014, at The Cedars, with friends who had been there before...our favorite room was the living room (sorry Bob) with the fire place glowing.....we had our coffee before breakfast and a late evening rest, before retiring....and yes, the breakfast, was not only really delicious...but Bob, owner and host, was always available to fill our coffee cups, take away our dishes and just generally, entertain us....OK, Bob, does this qualify us for a free B/B when we return on the week between Christmas and New Years....it was a grand (as my grandmother would say) time.....xoxo Dick and Dean Baldwin, Frederick, Md.

B&B's are my favorite home away from home to stay when we travel! Cedars was just that, warm and comfortable, clean and cozy! Cedars is within walking distance, about 10-15 minutes, to Historic Williamsburg. We walked to town, enjoyed the sites, events, and dinner at the the Great Trellis Restaurant. Then we walked back 'home' to Cedars to enjoy the fresh made chocolate chip cookies and cider by the lit fireplace...Ahhh and Yum! Thanks to Bob Tubbs and his gracious staff we had a lovely weekend and Great Breakfasts...gonna make the baked Oatmeal recipe from Cedars web site!

What a charming place, and we have never been welcomed so warmly! If you are a light sleeper or are bothered by a lack of privacy, however, you might choose another room than the Patrick Henry. The bathroom has a thin (locked) door that once opened to the hallway and one feels that he or she has company there. Spend a few more dollars for an upgrade to one of the other much nicer rooms. This one should be their bargain room, but it is still quite pricey. The room is tiny, but quite pretty, and the bed is comfortable, with silky smooth sheets. Otherwise, we were made to feel so welcome by the hospitable and good-humored host. Hot cider and cookies were waiting when we arrived, and breakfast was excellent...and memorable. I would gladly stay there again...just in another room!

Found The Cedars on line and could not be happier after our two-night stay. Rooms are quaint and breakfast is fantastic. Bob, Grace and their staff were inviting, friendly, and quite accommodating. If we ever make it back to the area, we will definitely stay at The Cedars.

I have stayed at the Cedars three times over the past 3 and a half years, and I have never been disappointed. We have visited twice during the summer, and most recently, during the Christmas Holiday. The rooms are charming, and quite comfortable. Breakfast is delicious, and the staff make the guests feel like family. The location couldn't be better as it is within walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg, and just a short drive from Busch Gardens. The Cedars' host is always willing to give advice and tidbits of information about what to do and see.

I have now been staying at The Cedars for several years and each time it only gets better. I walk in the front door and it is like "coming home". Innkeepers and Staff are above what you would expect; attention to detail, embrace you as "family" and the invitation to "come back soon" is sincere. Food is exceptional and the location of the B-n-B to Colonial Williamsburg is THE BEST. A visit to Williamsburg would not be complete without a stay at The Cedars.
5 on December 06, 2012
We had a great two nights staying here. Breakfast was much better than I had anticipated and I'm actually going to use some of the recipes. The location is close to Merchant Square and the restored area of Williamsburg (just 1/2 mile away). The house is nicely furnished and my only wish would be a little larger bathroom (but they have what you expect to find in a historic home). Bob was a great host in the morning and provided lots of extras. Very happy we stayed here.

This was our first time to stay at the Cedars of Williamsburg Bed & Breakfast and we would definitely recommend this Inn to others staying in the area! The proximity to Historic Williamsburg and dining was extremely convenient. Our family booked three rooms at the Inn. The Captain John Smith Suite on the second floor was very comfortable. The hospitality and personalized attention extended to our family by the owners, Bob & Grace, and their staff was exceptional! We felt like we were visiting in a friend’s home. The photos and video that Bob shot during our visit created a truly unique and memorable birthday celebration weekend!

I recently visited William and Mary and had occassion to stay at the Cedars of Williamsburg. Virtually every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations. The hospitality of staff; the stunning beauty and authenticity of the furniture; and the wonderful food all added up to a wonderful stay.

We had never stayed at a B&B before and now we will not stay in anything else. The Cedars set the bar really high for any others though. Breakfast was rediculously delicious. Grace and Bob go out of there way to accomodate and I am pretty sure "no" is not a part of their vocabulary. So very recommended! - Jenny

Location, grounds, cleanliness, breakfast, and staff attentiveness added up to grand experience for anniversary celebration. Highly recommended, with no reservations about any aspect.

My wife and I were searching for a B & B near Williamsburg, VA, for our anniversary celebration and could not have chosen a better establishment than the Cedars! The grounds were beautiful, the room charming and immaculate, and the breakfasts delicious. Owners Bob and Grace Tubbs were a delight and made us feel welcome and relaxed. We give the Cedars our highest possible recommendation!

Only Stay Here IF … You want the full colonial experience of being in Williamsburg; you want attention to detail, desire to be embraced in the art of “above and beyond” and expect to be pampered, fussed over and leaving wanting to return as soon as possible. Treat yourself to the experience of a Stay at The Cedars!

This is the only place in williamsburg that my wife and I stay at when we come in the fall - the Lord Botetourt Suite is by far our favorite (has an in-room fireplace that is awesome)! The staff is always friendly; the owners are warm, funny, caring, and passionate! The food is wonderful - really great breakfasts! We have been coming back to them now for 3 years and plan on only staying with them when we make our annual pilgramage to Colonial Williamsburg!

Ceders of Williamsburg offers lovely accommodations: the rooms beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The house and rooms are very clean -- only the bathroom, which was clean, could use slight upgrade. The service is excellent. The breakfast is more than copious.

We stayed here for our anniversary and have to say it was one of the best weekends away we have had. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, comfort of the pristine colonial rooms, and the delicious homemade breakfast in the morning. The only down side to our trip was that we couldn't stay another night! This was our first bed and breakfast experience and we are hooked now! This one is a gem!! Nothing bad to say about it! It's near everything in Williamsburg you would want to see too! We're definitely going to make it a point to go back sometime!

Stayed there for our wedding anniversary. When we return to Williamsburg, we won't consider staying anywhere else but The Cedars. The room was possitivly charming and impeccably clean. The location was excellent--close or convenient to everything. The host, staff, and service were the best part of the stay.

Bob and his staff made our stay absolutely wonderful. This cozy place is immaculate. The breakfasts are excellent and we were treated like king and queen by Bob and all of his staff. This beautiful old home is filled with gorgeous antiques and the decor is splendid. It was the most relaxing place we have ever stayed in. Everyone was very helpful in providing us with shopping and site-seeing recommendations including directions. Our stay was quiet, private and extremely accommodating. I would recommend this B&B to anyone who wants to be treated like you are the most important person of the day, everyday you are vacationing. We can't wait to return!

You'll not find a more beautiful home or more gracious hosts anywhere...... From the time we arrived until the time we said our good-bye's, we were treated to a B&B experience that we'll remember for the rest of our lives. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are spacious and immaculately maintained, the beds are VERY comfortable, the breakfast nook lures you in with wonderful smells, and the gazebo in the back of the property is GREAT for impromptu romantic get-aways with a good bottle of wine and some tasty local cuisine.

We recently had a delightful visit in Williamsburg while staying at The Cedars Bed and Breakfast. Bob was most accomodating and Grace prepared delicious meals for us each morning. Our room was beautiful, as was the rest of the inn. Very comfortable and enjoyable! I would recommend it to anyone visiting Williamsburg. It is also in a beautiful location, next to the historic College of William and Mary and with in walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg.

What a better than good experience that I had this week with Bob, Grace, Dee Dee and Eleonore. You all went beyond the call of duty to make my stay completely restful. I have made some good friends and appreciate all of the kind acts and loving words as well as Bob's helpful hands and strong back. Bless all of you. Beautiful warm memories are mine thanks to all of you. Promising a long term memory toward my pleasant stay there and bragging about Cedars to my friends. Will HIGHLY RECOMEND people stay there on their visit to Williamsburg. I'll be back! Sincere Gratitude, Rosalie Patterson

Bob and Grace are wonderful hosts at their B&B. The place was very cozy and the breakfast in the mornings where yummy!!!! Nice and quiet with the only TVs in the living room areas. Wonderfully maintained inside and out. Great knowledge on what to do and where to go. Easy access to historic areas and buses to those areas.

Stop and lavish yourself in being treated as if you are the only person in the house; stay and be charmed into returning again; experience history with The College of William and Mary across the street and Colonial Williamsburg a short walk away. ENJOY attention to detail in all the right areas, a breakfast that is BEYOND the expected and a treasure of memories to talk about when you get home.

The Cedars was very helpful even before we arrived. We booked our stay through an online service and had a question about arriving late which we posted. We then reserved another date through a different online service. The Cedars called back in response to our question and when I asked about the second reservation, they had not received it and took it upon themselves to track it down and then call us back to verify that we were indeed booked for both stays. Once we got there, the staff, service and rooms were great. We liked the personal touches and the picture as a momento. The food was outstanding and loved that they posted the recipes on their website. Our children thought the beds were "comfy-soft". We will definately recommend a stay to family and friends. We will also be back. Thanks Bob ,Grace and all.

The Cedars was the perfect place for our 24 hour getaway. It was within walking distance to Merchant's square, the outlets, and the historic ambiance of Williamsburg, but also bike paths of varying distances. The grounds and rooms were welcoming and comfortable. Breakfast was prepared with some of Grace's favorite recipes that were healthy and unique. We maybe lingered a little longer than necessary but enjoyed visiting with Bob and Grace who made you feel as welcome as long time friends. Thank you for a special birthday! Chris and Mary

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. It was her first time at a B and B, and my second at an American B&B (Been to several in Ireland). Cedars was amazing! The owner was at breakfast each morning, he was hilarious. The staff were polite, fast and very knowledgeable about the area. This was the best birthday gift, and the best experience for both of us! Thank you!

Stayed with my teenage daughter during a visit to an information session at William and Mary for prospective students. The George Washington Suite was a perfectly delightful experience. I would recommend it even more for couples celebrating a wedding or anniversary, for the atmosphere is charming and romantic. An elegant and well-furnished common room provides a perfect place for reading and conversation. Breakfast was hearty and delicious, and we also enjoyed the coffee, hot chocolate, and other treats always on offer in the breakfast room. Finally, our host and the cook provided friendly and stimulating conversation: they make their guests feel welcome and important. In short, the Cedars is a treasure; it reminds me how much I miss living in Virginia...and how much I wish to go back!

Once you meet Bob and Grace, you do not forget them! Bob is one of the friendliest, funniest people I have had the pleasure of meeting and Grace is a wonderful woman who takes it all in stride. She and Bob have a wonderful teasing relationship that my husband and I found quite familiar and they truly made our stay spectacular. We stayed in the Peyton Randolph room and were very pleased. The room is beautiful and warmly decorated with a fireplace that gives it a romantic glow. The room was set apart from the main house so it was very private, however there was an overnight groundskeeper next door if we needed anything. Breakfast was a delight with my husband begging Grace for her recipes, and they were very accommodating with our early departure. We truly enjoyed our experience and look forward to a return visit! Our own inn pamphlets personalized with our picture on them was a nice touch!

The only thing I was unhappy with is the lack of hot water. I was not able to take a shower in the mornings, especially before I left. I guess you have to get up very early! I did miss a TV in my room though also, not as much for me, but for my husband. He watches it while I'm getting ready when we're going out! Other than that, it was beautiful!!

Fantastic location to explore Williamsburg and William and Mary. Room was delightful with antiques and a comfortable, high 4-post bed. Only "negative": the sink, set very low, was a struggle for my husband. But I thought it added to the charm. Breakfasts were delicious, and our host, Bob, not only offered us ideas/help for travel, restaurants, etc., but he was full of stories and was quite entertaining. A very personable, warm and cozy place to stay.

If you're planning on visiting Colonial Williamsburg, this is the place to stay at. The 10 minute walk from the B&B to Colonial Williamsburg was not only good exercise, it made for a nice transition from today's world to yesterday's world that had no cars. We totally enjoyed the food and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Thanks for a great time!

The service from the housekeepers to the evening attendant to the innkeepers was outstanding! They made us feel at home. Also the breakfast was very tasty, especially the berry french toast casserole. Our room was comfortable, but nothing super special. I also thought the price was a little high for what we received.

My husband and I have been staying in B&B/Inns since our honeymoon 28 years ago, from New England to Natchez. The Cedars staff was attentive and very friendly and the Inn was spic and span clean, with lovely flowered grounds and tastefully decorated interiors. Our beds were extremely comfortable. In my experience, a B&B/Inn makes its mark in the quality of the details. The rooms we had for two nights were not as pictured on the website. Our bed and spread were different and the other room had a spread of much lower quality. The prices listed on the individual room page had not been updated to current charges. Family members staying upstairs told us later that they could clearly hear conversations in the next room coming from the air register. A guest in that other room also told me the same thing! The Inn is almost a mile from the Visitor Center. The breakfast was well-planned but not remarkable, however, the coffee was great! Updating the website would help greatly. Hiring a better cook would also help. After so many great reviews, I was surprised to be disappointed. I am easy going and hate to complain but I felt I had to be honest.

Returning visitors to Williamsburg, we decided to stay at The Cedars in Williamsburg. Bob & Grace, the Innkeepers, could not be more hospitable and served a wonderful breakfast each morning. My wife and I stayed in the Lord Botetourt Suite in the cottage, and it was beautiful. The fireplace made it nice and cozy, and of course the room was beautiful. Whil everything about the accommodations were great, our hosts made the visit unforgettable. Victoria (night manager) welcomed us and made sure that we had everything we needed. But Bob Tubbs (co-owner) steals the show. Bob is everything you can ask for in terms of hospitality. He was great at the breakfast service, but more than that his engaging personality made us feel right at home with himself and the other guests. Bob and Grace run a wonderful B&B. Did I mention the Creme Brulee French Toast?

The last few years my wife and I have stayed at several B & B in and around VA, PA, NC and GA. The Cedars of Williamsburg definitely ranks up there in our top five. The rooms are very comfortable, food is absolutely delicious, and Bob, Grace and the rest of the staff couldn't be more friendly. Everyone makes all the guests feel warm and welcome. Bob is very humorous and even if your a grouch he will make you laugh. This was our second stay there, and everything was still outstanding just like the first time we stayed. We will definitely be going back, again and again. Our goal is to stay at least one night in each of the rooms so we can win the sleep around contest.

My wife and I recently returned home after a wonderful trip to Williamsburg, Va. Having been to Charlottesville, Va. last year, we wanted to return to Virginia to soak up more early american history. We certainly accomplished our goal, but another memorable part of our trip was our stay at the Cedars B and B. Our warm and hospitable hosts were owners Bob and Grace Tubbs. Part of our vacation was a celebration of our 40th anniversary, and having viewed the several beautiful rooms on line, we selected the Christopher Wren Suite, a lovely quiet room on the top floor with a colonial king size bed, private bath and wireless internet connection. As we entered our room we were greeted by an eight by ten framed picture of my entire family that I had e-mailed at the request of our gracious hosts. Each day began with a delicious full breakfast, friendly and informative conversation and the opportunity to meet a variety of interesting people. Cedars is only a seven minute walk to the Colonial Village and it is a great way start a day of exploration and discovery as well as returning for a peaceful rest before going to dinner or an evening activity at the village. We look forward to returning to Cedars, and have already recommended it to our friends and family. L.Hindell--New York May, 200

We really loved the Cedars! It was a beautiful place, both inside and out! Our room was lovely - beautifully decorated, clean, and spacious enough for 3 of us. The location was perfect - just down the street from the main Williamsburg area. The food was delicious and you could either keep to yourself at an individual table or join in a conversation with anyone in the dining room. And we especially enjoyed the hosts - Bob and Grace - and the others who worked there, as they treated us just like family! It was a really special stay, and we'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for a Bed & Breakfast in Williamsburg.

The pleasure of being at The Cedars over Labor Day was EVERYTHING and more that I desired in the weekend. Breakfasts to rave about, being waited on with attention and details to where I would have thought I was the only guest, plus new friendships made. A wedding took place on September 1st that gave all guests a reason to applaud the Happy Couple the next morning. If you are looking for a classic wedding package done "just right" The Cedars is the location to book. Guests chatted in a comfortable manner with one another; we felt that we were "at home" as we gathered in the living room at night to reflect on our adventures of the day. The rooms fully decorated in the manner of Colonial and is the perfect setting for Williamsburg. Comfortable, exceptionally detailed in everything from bedding, towels and chocolates in the rooms. Conversations among guests to meet next Labor Day at The Cedars is a confirmed witness of the enjoyable accommodations that can be found within this BEYOND EXCELLENT Bed and Breakfast. WARNING: Be prepared to be spoiled!

Bob was a delight while making the reservation, warning me that since George Washington ground his teeth, there might be splinters on our pillow. :) Breakfast was scrumptous, and the wine provided with our package was very good. We would definately stay at the Cedars on a return trip to Williamsburg.

The accomodations and hosts (and their staff) of the Cedars of Williamsburg were above expectations and have set a new high standard to be met with our future travel accomodations. Highly recommended.

From the moment we walked in, I knew I'd made the right choice. Everything was as I'd hoped, and as the online website promised. This is definitely someplace I'd return, and recommend.

Very friendly owners and staff with a lovely setting. The food was home-cooked gourmet. Everyone was helpful with reservations and directions to local spots of interests. We would like to return in spring or fall to the Cedars.

We really loved staying here. Our room(The Christopher Wren) was just beautiful. Great King size bed and lovely furniture. We were just so comfortable in it. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were celebrating our anniversary so they had a sign made up for our special occassion and had it displayed in the hallway. That was truly special for us and we got to take it home as a keepsake. Breakfast was also wonderful. They have their own special receipes along with juice and coffee, muffins, etc. They also provide drinks and snacks in the dining area for later in the day. You just go and help yourself. We loved the Cedars of Williamsburg that we will go back again.

My husband and I celebrated our second anniversary here and it was perfect! Everything was arranged for us and the service was delightful. Beautiful rooms and surroundings! The innkeepers set up everything from dinner reservations to massages for two. It was absolutely wonderful!

My husband and I had a romantic getaway at The Cedars! We were welcomed with roses, wine (from a local winery), chocolates and rose petals. Bob made dinner reservations and massage appointments to complete our romantic weekend! Our room was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious! We will be back to visit our friends at The Cedars

wonderful experience. Gracious Hosts and eager to assist in helping. We were directed to a reataurant that we would not have gone to and we would have missed a good experience. The room and food was great.

The house is amazing, the people are so very friendly & helpful. The food is just incredible. We have traveled all over Europe and love to stay in B&B's and this is one of our very favorites in the USA. When you book there, tell them that the people who are bicycling 16,000 miles around America sent you! We know you will LOVE it!
