Wayne and Linda were very hospitable and it was a lovely stay. We were there for three nights.

This is a wonderful start to a visit of local vineyards, trip on Skyline Drive or Blue Ridge Parkway or a visit to the home gallery of P. Buckley Moss. The hosts, Linda and Wayne, were very welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were set in period furnishings and the queen sized bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was a gourmet delight and the company of other guests from the Netherlands very interesting. We will definitely return.

We booked a spur of the moment trip and stayed one night at Belle Hearth. Every room was immaculate and beautifully decorated with exquisite antiques. Breakfast was served on fine china and was delicious. We enjoyed sitting on their front porch in the evening. They provided little extras we were not expecting (ex: cookies in the evening, chocolates in our room). We were intrigued by the history of the house. Linda and Wayne made our visit very enjoyable. They have set the bar high for any future get-away. We would definitely stay there again if we visited the area.

Stayed at the Belle Hearth for a quiet weekend. Linda and Wayne were gracious host and went out of their way to make our every need their pleasure. Rooms are elegantly decorated and spotless. Breakfast was a gourmet delight along with great conversation among the guest. Wayne joined the discussions adding some local flare as well as suggestions of places to visit and various hikes within close drive of the inn. We will definitely return.

We stayed at Belle and Hearth for an overnight to explore for the first time the Shenandoah Valley area after a business trip to Fairfax, VA. We loved our room with its very comfortable bedding, private bathroom, and tasteful decor. Our hosts, Linda and Wayne, were friendly and both sat with us to chat for more than 30 minutes given their own busy daily routines and appointments. They shared with us about their family stories, how they started the bed and breakfast business, and the upkeep they have done to their beautiful home. We also appreciated their patient listening to our sharing of our travel experiences. The delicious breakfast was served to us in the dining room starting with a fresh fruit cup and followed by quiche, bacon, muffins, coffee, and orange juice. There were also bottles of water, cans of coke, and other beverages in the refrigerator upstairs next to our room. We enjoyed their gorgeous garden and took some time to relax on the porch. The location of Belle and Hearth is also perfect for our visit to the nearby University of Virginia and the historic town of Charlottesville. We were glad to have stayed at Belle and Hearth and would look forward to going back if there is an opportunity.

My wife and I are thru hiking the AT and really needed a day of rest. We were thrilled to find the Belle Hearth. Linda and Wayne were so friendly and helpful. Wayne picked us up at the trail and gave us a ride to a local outfitter. Linda helped us with a much needed laundry cleaning. The room was very comfortable and clean and also had a gas fireplace. Groceries and great dining were within easy walking distance. Breakfast was amazing and we really enjoyed Wayne visiting with us afterwards. We left feeling more like friends than guests. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this B&B.

Linda and Wayne are so welcoming! The house is beautiful! The breakfasts were so good and the presentation was lovely! The room we stayed in had a fireplace and a big comfy bed. We will definitely be back!
5 on March 07, 2016
This place was fantastic and the hosts are very warm and professional. Has a great old fashioned look and feel inside and out. And, since it is in Waynesboro rather than Charlottesville, you are in striking distance of the region's attractions without the crowds of Charlottesville. The breakfasts were really nice twists on traditional breakfast fare--quiche, croissants, sausage, and fruit with nice touches and attractive presentation. Really felt like we took a step back in time but had all the modern comforts. I have already recommended this B&B to coworkers and plan on having my parents stay here when they visit the region.

I decided at the last minute to take a trip for my birthday this past weekend. My boyfriend and I stayed here because of the great reviews. Linda and Wayne were very helpful on providing ideas of what to do. They even called and made dinner reservations for us the night we arrived, as we were running a little late due to traffic. Overall, the room was clean and comfortable (with our own fireplace!) and the breakfast was yummy! We had a great weekend getaway.
5 on January 10, 2016
My son and I stayed in the Iris Room while he was taking a class at the blacksmithing school which is right around the corner from the B&B. Breakfast was outstanding both mornings. It has a real comfy feel that you can't even get at home. Nicely decorated with lots of things to look at, books to read, and candy jars to take samples from. The bed was not the most comfortable to me, but the surroundings made up for that. Thank you Wayne and Linda.

My husband and I stayed at the Belle Hearth on Christmas Eve. The home was decorated so nicely for Christmas! Wayne and Linda were wonderful hosts and their two cats were great to have around. Waking up Christmas morning after a good nights sleep in our comfy bed and enjoying a delicious homemade breakfast was just what we wanted! We can't wait to visit again!
5 on December 13, 2015
Wayne and Linda were gracious and friendly hosts. The room was comfortable and the breakfasts fantastic! I very much appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and particularly the adorable feline "co-hosts" Belle and Mosby!
5 on December 10, 2015
Wayne and Linda greeted us warmly in their beautifully holiday themed foyer. The Christmas decorations were just the icing on the cake as the B&B is wonderfully furnished and decorated even without the holiday items. Wayne and Linda shared information about the area and stories about the B&B which we really enjoyed. We were in the Magnolia Suite which worked out perfectly for us, each having our own rooms with a jack-and-jill bathroom between us. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious and leisurely giving us time to chat and visit with our fellow travelers. House cats Belle and Mrs. Mosby provided me with lots of kitty love so I didn't miss my own kitties quite so much. I highly recommend this B&B and would love to stay there again.

Our first B&B experience in the Waynesboro area, we were welcomed by a lovely couple whose Victorian-style home made it a grand stay. The decorations, the welcome, and the knowledge of the innkeepers made this a home-away-from-home experience. Our rooms were clean to the brim and the fireplace was a nice added touch. The place was comfy, cozy, and filled with good decorations, interior, and design to make it something that is not a typical weekend getaway. Every morning we were served not just breakfast, but a breakfast that you wouldn't normally get at a normal getaway or inn. The innkeepers fed us grapefruit with toasted coconut, then an apple-filled croissant with cream cheese that was hearty, yet sweet, and the most crispy-bacon that your taste buds could imagine. And this was just one morning. Linda and Wayne, by telling their own life stories, have been in this business for years and they retain professional, yet hospitable presence. We would definitely come back to this B&B in the future. The only thing we do not recommend is the option to have a winery or brewery tour with your stay. We felt that the value for what we paid and the experience we received were different. We were told that we would go to these wineries/brewery (you can choose up to three of the local options) and experience not just tastings, but we assumed that a full-wine tour would take place. However, we were just driven to the places and we had to pay for the wine tasting fees up front in addition to the costs of the tour. The actually "brewery" tour was just a restaurant where we had to pay for our own flight of beers that they offer just to regular customers. It is recommended that the guest prepare his or her own tour beforehand. However, we would definitely come back to this place in the future to spring away from it all. Thank you Linda and Wayne!

I highly recommend staying at this Bed and Breakfast. They are located in a cute and quant part of town. They are not far from the breweries, wineries, or really anywhere you can think of. Wayne and Linda were very sweet and knowledgeable about the area. It was mine and my boyfriends first time at a bed and breakfast. I loved the room we stayed in with our own private bath. The décor was great and felt like home. Breakfast was served a little early for me, but well worth getting up to eat. I would absolutely stay there again!!!

My husband and I had a wonderful 2 night stay here last week. Wayne and Linda are excellent hosts and dining with the other guests was fun. Breakfast was delicious both mornings and presented beautifully on fine china. We loved the fireplace in the bedroom. They gave us many ideas for things to do and places to eat and . We will definitely recommend Belle Hearth to others.

My new wife & I stayed here on Oct. 13, 2015, for one night traveling on our honeymoon. As you can see, we rated Belle Hearth excellent on all categories. The Innkeepers, Linda & Wayne, are very pleasant and helpful. Not only was the breakfast great, they recommended a wonderful restaurant for dinner. We will definitely stay there again when we next drive through the Waynesboro or Staunton area. Pete & Jane Cornish

We just returned from two wonderful nights in this inn. Linda & Wayne are the perfect hosts and the inn is beautiful. We enjoyed the room and the breakfasts. It was fun meeting and talking with the other interesting guest at breakfast both days. We can't say enough good things about the Bell Hearth. Thanks, Ann & Noel

A friend and I spent two wonderful nights at the Belle Hearth Bed and Breakfast. We had the Magnolia Suite which had two rooms connected by a bathroom. The rooms were great; comfortable beds and beautifully decorated. The B & B was in a great location and a quiet neighborhood. The Innkeepers, Linda and Wayne were delightful and breakfast was delicious. I will definitely be going back!

Wayne and Linda went out of their way to make us feel at home in their home. They explained about the home to us and made sure to let us know that they were available any time if we needed something. The Orchid Room was very clean and had everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable. We have already recommended this place to other family members!

From the bottomless M&M jar and 24hr single cup coffee/tea maker to the high thread count linen and plush bath towels, the Belle Hearth and hosts Linda and Wayne provide a 5 star experience. A year ago we visited for the first time and enjoyed ourselves well enough to repeat the experience this year. Looking to put together a weekend get-away that included exercise and an opportunity to celebrate our anniversary, we discovered Waynesboro's Run-the-Valley Park-to-Park 1/2 Marathon, the Belle Hearth, the surrounding communities of Waynesboro and Staunton, and the wide range of good local food and events offered a fitting match for our highest expectations. We could not have put it all together though without the kind advice and suggestions from Linda and Wayne. They are gracious hosts and their extensive knowledge and appreciation for local history and business got us pointed in the right direction. The amenities are plentiful. The historic home and furnishings are cozy. Linda and Wayne are friendly, attentive hosts whose style creates an environment that brings guests together for a wonderful full course family style breakfast served on fine china and silver, and invites pleasant conversation after a quiet and comfortable night of sleep. The term "affordable luxury" is fitting and we look forward to our next stay at the Belle Hearth!

Linda and Wayne were lovely!! Very knowledgeable about the area with things to do and food to eat!! This is our second time staying at the lovely Belle Hearth. We go to the Virginia Fly Fishing and Wine Festival every year. Belle Hearth is within walking distant of the festival along with many local shops. The food is great and looks beautiful. The home is beautifully decorated; I love all the dishes and antiques! We feel right at home and we hope to come back for my birthday!!

We had a great week-end stay at the Belle Hearth. Innkeepers Linda and Wayne were friendly, helpful and prepared wonderful breakfasts. We enjoyed the authentic antiques and decor. The wrap around porch was one of our favorite places to hang out, swing, rock and sit. It was unpretentious and lovely there, very relaxing.

I happened upon this lovely B. & B. on the internet one day and decided to stay because of the great value. It couldn't have been a better experience! Wayne and Linda are so kind and welcoming, and my room (the Iris Room) was absolutely beautiful. It even had its own gas fireplace! Breakfast was wonderful, and I so enjoyed the conversation that I shared with Wayne while I ate. If I am ever in Waynesboro again I will definitely be staying at Belle Hearth!

My son and I resupplied in Waynesboro during a week long section hike on the AT. Wayne picked us up at the trailhead and took us to the Band B. The service was fantastic - they even did our funky backpacker laundry for free (they refused to take any money)! Thanks, Wayne and Linda.

I took my friend with me to pick up a piece of furniture in Charlottesville. It was her birthday coming up, so I treated her. She is always so "thrifty". We had the suite, so each of us had our own room. It was neat and our hostess was very accommodating.

We were only able to spend one night, but Wayne and Linda were so gracious and welcoming that it would have been a treat to stay much longer. Everything was excellent--and the jars of candy and nuts--and the coffee maker in the hallway were added benefits. We found their recommendations for local dining to be very good and had a great dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay! Thanks.

My husband and I recently stayed in the Lilac Room at Belle Hearth and enjoyed both the company of the other guests as well as the delightful and engaging hosts, Linda & Wayne. The breakfasts were delicious and varied, the table beautifully set and the conversation animated---the perfect start to our days spent there. Our room was quietly appointed, clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed the company of their cats as we left two of our own at home and missed them. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at the Belle Hearth B&B this past weekend, July 12-13. The rooms were well furnished and had more amenities than we anticipated. The B&B did not require a 2 night stay, which many do. Our drive from home to the Charlottesville area is less than 3 hours so we only needed one night. The hosts were friendly and gracious. The breakfast was out-of-this world delicious and filling. I did not realize this B&B has a very nice pool so we did not pack our suits. Although our schedule did not allow for time to swim, next time we will keep this in mind. We will be back!

Our mini get-a-way plans were to visit several vineyards in the area. Waynesboro is a fantastic location to visit many quality vineyards. The Belle Hearth B&B was perfect accomodations for our get-a-way. The house is simply lovely. The details are wonderful. We enjoyed the Orchid Room. Linda and Wayne were very gracious and made our stay very nice. There any many treats to enjoy along with fantastic breakfast. Lovely front porch too. Walking distance for dinner too!!

Linda and Wayne are without a doubt the best hosts you could ever ask for. They are so knowledgable about the area and you are treated like royalty when you stay here. If you have any food issues, gluten/vegan/milk or nuts, they will accommodate you to the best that you can ever expect. I cannot say enough about this Bed and Breakfast and I highly recommend this B&B to everyone.

Winter/off-season stay! A caregivers night away! I was queen for a day/night! I booked the Orchid Suite! The lovely fainting couch/claw footed white bath tub, along with 'Nature's Sounds' machine playing birds chirping, fireplace going/candle lit, had a queen's springtime getaway in the bitter cold of winter! Wayne and Linda are very hospitable in every way...kindness/snacks everywhere/gourmet over the top breakfast for any queen/even flowers/wine/roses teapot with cream and snacks delivered to fainting couch! Treats and food homemade and delicious! A caregiver/Queen's Getaway #1!!!! This is 1st of many respite stays for me! I love UK , Victoriana, and teatime and this place was just my 'Cup Of Tea'!

My husband and I stayed at the Belle Hearth for our 30th anniversary. Our stay was for 3 nights and we would have loved to stay longer if only work did not call us back! Linda and Wayne are fantastic Innkeepers who make you feel at home and welcome as soon as you walk in the door. Each of our breakfasts were wonderful and the house is charming and cozy. We also ordered a picnic lunch for our trip back and as expected is was yummy and generous. We will definitely stay at the Belle Hearth when we return to the area. We came as strangers and left as friends. Thank you Linda and Wayne for your great conversations at breakfast and your warm hospitality.

Bell Hearth was our first B&B stay and it exceeded our expectations tremendously. We enjoyed our walk to downtown Waynesboro and having a very relaxing supper at a local restaurant. The house is very clean and has lovely decorations with that all enticing wrap-around front porch inviting all to have a seat and enjoy. Breakfast was delicious and the owners went out of their way in ensuring that all the follks had enough to eat. Definitely will recommend it to our friends and family who may be visiting that area of Virginia.

Belle Hearth is an outstanding B&B. The rooms are decorated with love and dedication. Not even a single item is missing. Linda and Wayne are great hosts. Their breakfast was just superb. They gave a perfect recommendation for dinner in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, we stayed only one night - this place deserves more. Stop searching for alternatives - this is the one!

We always want to stay in a cozy spot with a private bath and tub [just in case my wife wants to take one]. Although we didn't realize this location was on a main street, we didn't miss being "out in the country." The room was overloaded with tschockes and knick knacks - all interesting! The bed was very comfy - and we did spend some time in the other room watching TV.

We visited Belle Hearth for our stay during our 4-day motorcycle trip to Skyline Drive. We loved it! Wayne and Linda were wonderful hosts, cooks and made us feel so at home from the time we arrived until our departure. The house is beautiful, with lots of charm and decorated beautifully. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip! Our only regret is that we didn't stay long enough to enjoy the pool.

This was our first experience at a B&B. We were impressed with the house and Linda and Wayne were the most down to earth great people. They acted as cooks, concierges and friends. The breakfasts were absolutely wonderful and the conversations with the other guests were enjoyable. It is so quiet that we were unaware of other guests until breakfast. Enjoying the pool is a must - it was so refreshing. Such a great experience - one that I would recommend.

After a long day of hiking in the mountains, the Belle & Hearth was the absolutely perfect place to rest. The bed was comfortable, the room temperature was consistent (as opposed to those hot / cold / hot hotel rooms), the decor was lovely, and the living room was welcoming. The two kitties are very friendly, and were very willing to give me a nice bit of "kitty love" during my stay. Breakfast was quite filling and very tasty, and a perfect way to start another day in the mountains. If I could have stayed longer, I would have!

OUTSTANDING B&B!! Visited Walton Mountain Museum in Schuyler and Monticello in Charlottesville on separate days - based out of Belle Hearth. REALLY felt like we were coming home each night. Checked in at the end of an Open House day - Linda was STILL friendly, gracious, and gave us a full tour of her beautiful home (even the empty rooms), including details about the history of the home. We stayed in the Magnolia Room - but any room would have been totally comfortable. Bed was very comfortable - linens were top quality. Wayne and Linda prepared and served a scrumpious breakfast each day; well-paced and each item was delicious. One guest in another party had special dietary needs - he was accommodated effortlessly. These innkeepers obviously care about their guests and their beautiful home, and work hard to ensure you have an unforgettable experience. We like to try different B&Bs - but Belle Hearth is SO good, we'll stay there again when we visit this area.

Marvelous collection of antiques.

We stayed at the Belle Hearth from 10/19-10/21 and we had an outstanding time. Linda and Walter are the most gracious hosts of any b&b that we have stayed at. They are also gourmet cheft! The breakfasts each morning were diverse and delicious. We felt welcomed as family and were genuinely sad to leave. We got to know the other guests at the property, and really enjoyed everything about the atmosphere of the inn. The rooms are cozy, comfortable, clean, and inviting. There are little snacks situated everywhere throughhout the house in case you need a late night snack. Overall we highly recommend this property.

A private wine tasting was scheduled in advance and proved to be a fun experience. Linda packed a delicious picnic basket for us that we enjoyed after a rigorous hike to Humpback Rocks. Breakfast was superb, host and hostess were helpful and accommodating, and the home was beautiful! We can't wait to plan our next trip back to the Belle Hearth.

We stayed at the Bella Hearth B & B in Waynesboro, Va., arriving on July 22, 2012 spending two nights there and had a wonderful time. Linda and Wayne Mielczasz were very gracious and accommodating; we spent several hours talking with them about the area, the B & B and our common backgrounds. Even Linda and I had the same birthday and also closed on our house on the same day as they closed on the B & B which was also our birthdays. Belle Hearth was just what we were looking for, a nice quiet get away with very nice people. Linda and Wayne served delicious breakfasts with some wonderful conversations. The area has a lot to offer, we went hiking on Skyline Drive which is only a 10 minute drive away, did some shopping and had a great dinner at the Mill Street Grill in Staunton, Virginia just 15 minutes away. There were several other restaurants that Linda and Wayne suggested, however, we didn’t get a chance to visit them but, we will, when we return to Belle Hearth in the fall for the foliage season. Linda and Wayne are so kind, friendly and pay attention to every detail to make your stay "special". We enjoyed the pool and the lovely porch on a very hot Va day. We stayed in the Iris room and found it to be perfect. The breakfasts were great and we very much enjoyed the table conversations. For lunch we enjoyed a highly recommended pizza at the Blue Mountain Brewery. Dinner was a three block walk to The Green Leaf- fabulous!! Also, do not miss the newly opened Bold Rock (south on Rt 151) for great tasting and refreshing hard cider- hands down a winner. Cannot wait to visit Belle Hearth B and B again. Thank you Linda and Wayne.

My mother and I visited Belle Hearth on June 3rd for one night as it was a convenient stop after attending my nieces wedding in Charlottesville VA to regroup before going on through Skyline drive. After the hectic weekend it was a great retreat. I only wish we decided to stay 2 nights instead. The gardens and interior décor was up my isle as I love Victorian. The front gardens are picturesque and many memorial photos are now in my collection. Sitting on the wrap around porch in the evening was very relaxing; you almost forgot you were on a main street. I love that many of the items in the house have a story behind them and that some pieces are personal to either Linda or Wayne. Now a month later the story about the picture of the ancestral woman in the Iris room still stays with me. Retreating to our beautiful Iris and Rose rooms was a pleasure. I took the Iris room as blue is a favorite color of mine. A small but comfortable room was just perfect. From the fireplace to the high four poster bed and the antique furniture and private bath I was able to unwind and had a great night sleep. My Mom’s accommodations was equally satisfying with a big and bright room, she hated to leave. Linda and Wayne could not have been more hospitable. They were a pleasure to meet, and not the type of people I would have expected to meet in the South. I have been to my fair share of B&B’s and have not met more welcoming and genuinely friendly hosts. We highly recommend Belle Hearth to anyone looking for a little Victorian charm and beauty in this lovely neighborhood home.

My husband and I were looking for a short getaway for a few days and my husband found Belle Hearth. I'm so glad he did. Wayne and Linda gave us a warm welcome and were very informative about things to do in the surrounding area. I'm sure we'll be back again!

We would recommend this B&B to all our friends. The wrap around porch with chairs and swing was a great way to start the day and end the evenings. Linda was visitng family while we were there. Wayne did an excellent job in making us feel at home; he sure knows how to cook homemade meals. He is very knowledgeable regarding Waynesboro and all the other towns and attractions. You will not regret staying at Belle Hearth B&B!

My wife and I were bringing a motorcycle back to NC from Vermont. I had surprised my wife and made the trip a Bed and Breakfast themed trip. We stayed at Belle Hearth on the last night of our trip. Belle Hearth has a beautiful presentation and entrance with a lovely garden. We were greeted by Linda and immediately felt welcome and comfortable. Our room was equally beautiful and extremely comfortable. We had the best night's sleep at Belle Hearth. Many B&B's do not have attached bathrooms with the rooms. This was not the case here and welcomed plus. We stayed in the Orchid Room and found out is was the original owners room, which made it kind of neat. The breakfast was also the best of all of the Inns. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely like to return.

This was a repeat for us. We much enjoyed our stay, and will likely stay there again. As repeat guests we received a generous discount. Wayne and Linda are indeed gracious hosts, with stories about Waynesboro and their neighborhood, and good recommendations both for places to dine and places to walk or visit. They are avid collectors of historic memorabilia. They fed us gourmet breakfasts, served family-style at the large table in their dining room. We especially enjoyed our conversations with other guests. The "rating" choices are a little ambiguous, since a choice could be both "Outstanding" and "Met my expectations", especially since this was our third visit. Our three-star ratings should be taken in that light.

I stayed here for two nights with my boyfriend. We're a bit younger (21 & 25) and had a fantastic stay here. It was so comfortable and welcoming. There is so much history that Linda & Wayne have packed throughout the house. They're super informative on the town of Wayensboro and the surrounding towns. The breakfast & conversation were perfect. We'll be back for Sure !

My husband and I spent 2 nights in the Rose Room and felt relaxed and comfortable--like we were staying in our "best friends' home". Wayne and Linda were warm and welcoming and we were impressed with the "attention to detail" in cleanliness, furnishings, and the food was amazing. We highly recommend to anyone looking for a weekend get away or a trip to the mountains - any time of year.

My daughter and I drove up to visit the Blue Ridge Mountains just before Christmas and we stayed 4 nights at Belle Hearth. We were very pleased and impressed with our stay. The inn owners were lovely people and very helpful. The inn was absolutely gorgeous and the food outstanding. We got a very good rate on our room and were charmed to have a fireplace in our own room. Can't say enough about Belle Hearth, would definitely recommend it!

My husband and I were sampling our way through the "Brew Ridge Trail" and looking for a place to crash for the night. Belle Hearth was perfect for what we needed. Linda and Wayne kindly accommodated our semi-late (8:30pm arrival) and were very gracious hosts. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was outstanding!

We stayed for two nights in the Magnolia Suite. Some of the fixtures date back more than a century to the construction of this lovely home. We had concerns going in that the dust would bother us, but the place is kept so impeccably clean, it was not a problem. Breakfast was a multi-course presentation in itself, and was creatively prepared. The outside wrap-around porch is very relaxing. This B&B is located near so many things to do, only a couple of miles from the entrance of Skyline Drive/Blue Ridge Parkway, about a half hour from Charlottesville, and a short drive from several beautiful wineries. If you're not sure what you want to do, just ask Linda and Wayne. They have a treasure trove of suggestions. Overall an excellent time.

Antiques definitely abound in every square inch of space and are gorgeous. If you like rooms with more open and empty space, you'll be happier elsewhere. If you love beautiful dishes and flowery decor, you'll love this place. Arriving after dark was a bit uncomfortable because of low lighting in the main entryway and parlor. We prefer warmly lit spaces, especially when days are colder and darker outside. Innkeepers were congenial and accommodating, though, and the bed was extremely cozy. Enjoyed the warmth of the fire in the hearth. Home baked goodies were delicious and breakfast table conversations delightful.

My wife and I have visited The Belle Hearth B&B many times over the past six years. The experience has been totally awesome. I feel at home! The ambience and the hospitality of Wayne and Linda (The Innkeepers) are second to none! Linda and Wayne are absolutely committed to making your stay most enjoyable. And... If all that is not enough, breakfast in the morning... well, let me just say, imho, The Best! It begins around 8:30am in the parlor, close enough to take in the aroma of that morning's fare. Wayne usually hears me strumming my six string and offers a cup of his fine java. Soon a few guests will join in and the fun begins. Great conversation!!! Delicious food!!! Linda and Wayne, while serving and attending to every request, are the consumate host and hostess!!! Respectfully submitted by Joe & Carole...

The inn keepers are very sociable and provide help about things to do in the area when asked. We stayed in the Orchard room 10/21/2011-10/22/2011. The room is large with a very comfortable King bed. There was a small day bed in the room as well as a side chair and small TV. The bath is large with a claw tub/shower. We liked the room although the first night the tempeture was cool. Wayne cut up the heat, so the next night the tempeture was fine. The breakfast is very good and pleantiful. We really enjoyed the company with the other guests at breakfast. So much so that out last day we sat around the dining room table and chatted for about an hour and a half. There is very little to do in Waynesboro, so we spent our time in Lexington and Staunton. I would recommend this inn.

Fantastic quirky period house crammed with antiques and interesting items. Very warm welcome with helpful advice and a lovely breakfast. The Belle Hearth looks rural but is in a beautiful avenue close to the town centre, an easy walk to find a restaurant and would recommend the Green Leaf Grill. Mosby the cat is the star of the show.

My family and I (there are five of us) decided to take a quick trip before school started and decided, based on the reviews, to stay at Belle Hearth. We are so glad we did! It more than lived up to the reviews. We stayed in one of the suites and the beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean and beautiful and the house was quiet even though there were other guests. All the readily available snacks and desserts were a hit with my 18 and 22 year old sons and my 7 year old daughter. The owners were absolutely accomodating and do a great job at giving suggestions on things to do and places to eat around the area. We LOVED Scotto's Italian Restaurant and Klines Ice Cream! We looked forward to breakfast every morning! Delicious!! They really try to accomodate all dietary needs. There were plenty of things to do in the area (don't miss the Safari Park)! We all agreed that this was one of our best vacations ever and will definitely be back!!!! Thanks Linda and Wayne for allowing us into your lovely home and for making this a truly wonderful and relaxing experience!

Small blue collar town in the middle of the Shenandoah Valley. It is close to major highways and attractions yet tucked away on a side street of this town. Good restaurants are a 20-25 minute drive yet that was the attractiveness of this B&B in that we came home from dinner and sat on the swing on the wraparound porch at night, watching the few cars and people that passed by. We will visit again some fall to see central Virginia's fall foliage.

We would definitely return and highly recommend this warm inviting home filled to the brim with antiques and knick knacks and a flowering English style garden. The wrap around porch was also lovely. Hospitality is second to none. Linda and Wayne make you feel right at home. The breakfasts are amazing. It is impossible to leave the table hungry. If you need any guidance in sightseeing, dining, wine tasting or anything else, Linda and Wayne are available with a wealth of information. We stayed in the Orchid Room and a more comfortable room is hard to find. The B&B is centrally located between Staunton and Charlottesville. It is also closely located to I-81 and Skyline Drive and the Blueridge Parkway. If you are into wineries, there are any number within driving distance. Belle Hearth is a great place for a get-away. Let's not forget Mosby.

Very nice well kept place convenient for the Blue Ridge Parkway and Shenandoah National Park/Skyline Drive. We had a hot night in June and missed having AC.
We would like to question a review we just received. It states there was no Air conditioning in the house during their stay. We have AC but during their stay the outside temperatures were in the 70's and at night the temperature dropped into the low 60's. We have to consider all of our guests comfort and to run the AC when the house was pleasant with the windows open and each room has a 52" ceiling fan, we saw no need to cool the house any further.

Something different and interesting to look at wherever you rest your eyes. Decorated with lots of interesting items. Our room was very comfortable, our host very helpful and friendly. Who could forget Wayne, on Wayne Ave, in Waynesboro. He's a good cook too. Multi course breakfast was a delight to palate and eye, (even the edible flowers). No off street parking. Old fashion tub was a little high to step into. A nice stop as you enter or exit Skyline Drive or the Blue Ridge parkway. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Our son and his fiance had chosen Belle Hearth as the hosting location for their intimate wedding gathering in the Waynesboro area. We were graciously welcomed by Linda and Wayne, helpfully introduced to the amenities of their B&B, and soon learned of the interesting history of this location. We found the historic home to be a wonderful place for the two families to assemble and spend time together. While we did not use the pool, we enjoyed the poolside area for an evening outdoor meal (we brought the fixings) and conversation following the wedding. Each of the rooms had a distinct character, and we enjoyed seeing them all. We had a delightful breakfast the next morning, as we enjoyed their specialties. The ample front and side porch provided us a relaxing place to visit. Linda and Wayne were very gracious and accomodating hosts.

Linda was a fabulous host! We happened to be the only guests during our stay, but got the feeling Linda makes all of her guests feel special. She even up-graded our room to the Magnolia Suite at no extra cost. The clean room was well appointed with a great bed, soft sheets and linens. The bubble bath in the "old fashion tub" was so relaxing and peaceful after a long day and we loved that the room had a separate shower. Her gourmet breakfast of omlette/apples was so delicious. I would never thought of it, blending the two together. I highly recommend the Belle Hearth who wants a fine B&B experience. Diane & Bill

My Husband and I stayed this last weekend for the first time at Belle Hearth. The owners, Linda and Wayne were amazing hosts. From the fresh cut flowers in our room, to the chocolates, to the mouth watering dishes served at breakfast, we just loved everything about Belle Hearth. The room was comfortable and very quiet at night. You cant beat the location either. We were able to visit local wineries, take in a Shakespearean play in Staunton, and attend the graduation ceremonies at University of Virginia. All of these destinations were just minutes away. We are looking forward to staying again this summer to do some fishing and then again in the Fall to take in all the beautiful Fall colors of Shenandoah Valley. We highly recommend this B&B.

My wife and I were returning from our honeymoon in Williamsburg and had just finished driving the Skyline Drive from the north entrance to the southern end. When we arrived at Belle Hearth we were greeted by Linda at the front door, who was very friendly and immediately made us feel at home. We had reserved the 3-room Magnolia Suite which could not have been more perfect. The house itself was a step back in time to the victorian age of the early 20th century, but with all the modern conveniences. After our night's stay, we had a wonderful breakfast in the formal dining room, and were abe to visit with Linda and Wayne. The history of the house is amazing and the neighborhood very charming with friendly people passing by on the front walk. Linda and Wayne are great hosts. The house was spotless, we couldn't find one grain of dust. The breakfast was delicious. They are great conversationalists and really make you feel at home. The house is also beautiful. Plus, they know of so many great things to do in the area so all you have to do is talk to them a little to figure out how to spend your days. The house is really close to Monticello, University of Virginia, several vineyards that have wine tasting, and the town of Charlottesville, which is a fun and beautiful place. We would recommend anybody stay at Belle Hearth.

While my friend and I were on vacation, we decided to end it at a Bed and Breakfast. I found this gem on the internet and we loved it. The day we got there, we were greeted by a very nice couple, who gave us a tour after chatting with us about our interests. We felt like family at this hidden, wonderful B&B. Since it was close to dinnertime, they suggested several places to eat in the area. After we decided, they gave us printed directions and told us to enjoy our meal (they loved to go there also). I was talking with Linda and Wayne while they were making breakfast, informing them of my friend's request for his morning meal. They were very accommodating to his change. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously. We are already planning to stay there again on our next trip to the area.

Absolutely awesome B&B!! Historic, romantic, and the breakfast was "to die for!" not to mention the hospitality. Definitely will go back!

We enjoyed the well-furnished room and all the amenities. Breakfast was great. Linda and Wayne were most helpful in planning our short stay in Waynesboro and our route south. If we're ever in the area again, we'll surely stay at Belle Hearth.
5 on October 19, 2010
This was a special treat for me since Belle Hearth is my paternal grandfather and grandmother's house. To be able to stay and sleep there with two of my 3 daughters created special memories in our lives.
5 on October 17, 2010
Along with being historic and beautiful, the innkeepers were wonderfully accommodating to all my odd allergies and my husband's diabetes. The breakfast of zucchini bread and orange french toast was amazing, moreso because they used splenda.
4.2 on October 14, 2010
Stayed here for 3 nights in September 2010 as base for hiking in Shenadoah National Park. Very convenient for access to Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway. Given a warm welcome by Wayne and a tour of the interesting house with all its history. Very comfortable accommodation and a really good breakfast which set us up for the day's walking.
5 on October 12, 2010
The room was outstanding - especially clean and inviting - it was as if staying at grandmom's for a long weekend - it was the perfect setting for the beginning of our 41st anniversary weekend. The host and hostess couldn't have been nicer or more informed of the history of the house which was intriguing! The breakfast was outstanding and a southern delight! The other couples were as pleased and impressed as we were and breakfast was a chatfest as we enjoyed comraderie and shared stories of home and family. The inn keepers were especially friendly. The Inn itself is immaculate and well kept and well decorated for the season - I imagine it is spectcular at Christmas time! You will certainly get more than your monies worth at Bell Hearth!
4.6 on September 28, 2010
We were able to take advantage of a special rate. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. The innkeepers had discounts for many of the area activities and this saved us even more. The breakfasts' were delicious and our coffee server was kept full. Linda & Wayne even poured when they were not busy with other duties.

My wife and I stayed at Belle Hearth for our anniversary in September. The hosts were wonderful and the house is gorgeous. Linda has done a great job of decorating and every knick-knack has its place and looks like it belongs. The breakfast was excellent, home-cooked, inventive (sausage and cranberry quiche, grapes with orange-zest sauce, etc.) and very filling. They were gracious of our arriving much later than we'd anticipated due to driving the length of Skyline Drive and let us have a lazy checkout in the morning. In short, we enjoyed our visit very much and will certainly be going back.

My husband and I spent our 5th wedding anniversary at this lovely quaint Victorian B&B. The home was beautifully decorated. We stayed in the Orchid room, which was comfortable and cozy. The french toast, with orange sauce was delicious!! Linda and Wayne were wonderful hosts. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience for our special day.

We had a wonderful stay at the Belle Hearth. The house is fascinating with all the antiques collected by Linda and Wayne. Breakfasts were exceptional! Waynesboro is not the most interesting town, but Inn is centrally located for visiting the southern Shenandoah Valley.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Belle Hearth for 3 nights/4 days. Our gracious hosts, Linda and Wayne Mielczasz, made our stay a most memorable one. The history they shared regarding their home and the town was very entertaining, informative and enjoyable. They offered many suggestions regarding things to do, places to go and restaurants for dining. Their home is both charming and elegant with many treasures they have collected both locally and abroad. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The pool was an additional delight. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful and we enjoyed the company of Linda and Wayne's other guests whether dining in the elegant, formal dining room or at a table on the wraparound porch. We have recommended Belle Hearth to several of our friends and we will definitely be returning!

Needed a place to stay so I could antique shop/visit friend in the area. Found so much more, and made friends. Loved everything about the Belle Hearth. Stayed in the Rose room but all rooms are gorgeous. Linda and Wayne are great hosts. Will go there again and recommend to anyone. Great, relaxing pool, excellent breakfasts (no need for more food after theses meals), great location!

We found this lovely century old home when looking for a place to rest while visiting our daughter and her new baby in Charlottesville. Decorated true to it's era it seemed as if the original owners had never left! The rooms are absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Leading to a refreshing pool on the ground level was a set of winding exterior steps with items left along the way – reminiscent of summer vacations and 'going home' to relatives. Wayne and Linda were as welcoming as if we were related. On our second visit we brought along two grandchildren who also enjoyed the style and décor of generations apart. A delicious breakfast is served with elegant grace, and as my 10 year old granddaughter put it, “That lady (Linda) was so nice... she gave me my very own little teapot!” Even after our new little addition to our family gets to go home from the hospital, we hope to visit Belle Hearth again and again.

Stayed in the Magnolia Suite and was able to have a separate room for our daughter who was with us for college visits. Other B&Bs we checked would not allow her to stay in the room with us without renting an entire other room. Linda provided us with information and suggestions for all our planned activities!
5 on June 18, 2010
Beautiful B&B! Rooms and breakfast were great but what sets this B&B apart are their many helpful suggestions, from hiking trails to restaurants for dinner to tourist attractions and of course all those wineries! Andrew Macdonald

5 on April 20, 2010
First time at any B&B. Was worried about feeling as if we were intruding on other people's privacy. But.... why didn't I do this sooner? It will be the place that I compare future trips with. Everything was perfect and lovely, from the house and room to the owners.
5 on April 18, 2010
This house is so amazing, and so beautifully decorated, it is a true delight! Our room was immaculately clean and very, very comfortable. The mattress was more comfortable than ours at home! The owners, Linda and Wayne, are very gracious, friendly, and also delicious cooks. Our only regret was that we were not able to stay longer. Will definitely come back.

My wife and I stayed here for one night as a stop-over in connection with a drive along the Skyline Drive. The Magnolia room was spacious, cozy and nice. Breakfast was great. Wayne, upon our arrival, made us feel very welcome and we were given details about the old but charming house, which has all that you can expect, incl. TV and WiFi.

Everything about Belle Hearth is very welcoming, from the innkeepers themselves to their delicious breakfasts to the personality-plus rooms with cozy fireplaces. I hated to leave! We totally enjoyed everything about our stay. We plan on returning as soon as our hectic schedules allow.

My family and I gathered at the Belle Hearth B&B for my father-in-law's 60th Birthday. We were all driving from different directions, so we decided on this location as a mutual meeting spot. The B&B was beautiful - we were not disappointed! The home is full of gorgeous antiques and the bedrooms were large, cozy and clean. Breakfast in the AM was delicious & the innkeepers were both very friendly. Waynesboro is a quaint area & is w/in driving distance to several great vineyards. If you're looking for a nice getaway, definitely check this place out.

Had a wonderful stay at this B&B. Room was cozy, and the fireplace was a plus. Breakfast was just right and we enjoyed meeting the other guests. Wish breakfast was a little earlier since it delayed our departure a bit, but otherwise, everything was great. Innkeepers were very helpful and courteous. Would definitely consider staying here again.

This B&B met all our expectations. We will consider staying there again.

Our recent overnight stay at the Belle Hearth was delightful. The owner's pride in maintaining a tastfully decorated and inviting home was evident with much of the furniture and decor acquired from extended visits to England. The gas fireplaces with different hearths in every room glowed with the warmth and hospitality conveyed as well by our gracious hosts. The king bed in the Orchid room was sooo comfortable that I even peeked under the tightly drawn sheets to try to see the mattress brand. Breakfast was a delicious "three course" event! The lilac-colored home comes with an interesting 100 year history that the owners are delighted to tell. It is nestled among turn of the 20th Century homes that range from Victorian to Craftsman and is a stone's throw from historic downtown Waynesboro and Fishburne Military Academy. The owners have discount tickets to Wintergreen skiing and are exploring getting discounts for the snow tubing which we were there for. We will definately return in warmer climes to enjoy a walking tour of the tree-lined streets and inground pool!

Wondeful friendly hosts, accomodating of our atypical diets, home full of antiques, chocolate, very tidy and well maintained, big tub and working gas fireplace. Books, movies, maps nad games. A great escape.

visited once again but this time during Valentines- wonderful getaway yet again! It was nice to see Wayne and Linda and the house was immaculate. Although there was plenty of snow, it did not hamper our time there- in fact, it added to the excitement for we were able to use the fireplaces! (normally too warm to use). If you haven't been to the Belle Hearth, you are missing out on Waynesboro best kept secret! We will be back!

Linda and Wayne provided us with historical information about the house, local restaurant and event recommendations, and a warm and friendly environment. Belle Hearth is really a treasure! The entire house is decorated beautifully with interesting details. The breakfast was outstanding - best fritatta and cream cheese zucchini bread you could ever imagine! Wayne and Linda seem to think of every detail - from snacks down the hall to the comfiest and most lovely smelling bed and bath linens. Although we did not get to meet Linda, we can only imagine she is as welcoming and charming as Wayne. Thank you both so much! We will definitely recommend you to others.

I found this B&B on the Virginia Tourism Website. We had never been to Waynesboro, but we know now that we have a reason to return. The Orchid Room was so comfortable, didn't want to get out of bed, but the smell of breakfast invited us to come and join the other guests.
5 on November 02, 2009
My husband and I waited until the last minute to book a weekend anniversary trip to Charlottesville. Because there was a big concert at UVA, EVERYTHING in or near town was booked. We got the last room at Belle Hearth in Waynesboro, VA, about a half and hour away. For once, our procrastination paid off! Belle Hearth is absolutely charming. We stayed in the Magnolia Suite, which has room for 4 people. It was a great value at $150 a night (the most expensive in the inn). Particularly nice was the deep, claw-footed tub for soaking. The inn-keeper, Wayne, is friendly, helpful with suggestions for hikes and wineries, and obviously takes great pride in the inn, which has an interesting history. The breakfasts each day were unique and flavorful - we never left hungry. And we appreciated that Wayne used local apples he and his wife had picked nearby in our meals. The inn is located nearby the entrances to both Shenandoah and Blue Ridge Mountain national parks, lots of wineries, and it is close enough to Charlottesville by car that we were easily able to go in for dinner. We enthusiastically recommend Belle Hearth as a reasonably-priced and charming B&B in the Charlottesville area - we'll definitely be going back!

I hope to be able to visit again....and on my next trip I'm going B&B.

My husband and I have been married for a couple of years and have one 10-month-old son. We wanted to celebrate the end of a difficult summer job, and since we enjoyed staying at a bed and breakfast for our one-year wedding anniversary, we decided to get a baby-sitter and do it again. Even when you can only get away for one night, it is as affordable as a nice hotel, and we think it's just a little more cozy and fun to do from time to time.

My husband and I were on an extended trip when he experienced a dental emergency shortly before we arrived. Linda (owner and retired dental assistant) took a look at the problem and immediately called her personal dentist who was able to get us in early the following morning. We are so grateful for Linda's help as this could have ruined our trip. The home was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and cozy. The food was delicious and we especially enjoyed spending the evening sitting on the very inviting front porch. I would not hesitate to recommend this b&b to anyone. We hope to return if we are ever up that way again. The hosts could not have been nicer nor could they have made us feel more at home.

The owners, Wayne and Linda, really go all out to make the guests welcome. The breakfasts are fantastic. They are very accomodating to individuals with food allergies or other dietary restrictions. Belle Hearth B&B is centrally located to the Blue Ridge Mountains, many wineries, and other cultural and historic places. All of the hotels in Charlottesville were gouging at 3-4 times the going rate for the UVA graduation weekend. Wayne and Linda did not change the rates for that weekend. Charlottesville was a relatively quick 21 mile drive from Waynesboro. My wife and I would definetely come back.

We just stayed at Belle Hearth in Waynesboro, VA for two nights in early April. While we missed the Winter Get Away discount, we were still able to get a good deal with a discount of $10 off per night. The B&B is in a good location that was easy to find and is within walking distance of a couple of restaurants. The rooms were very clean and well maintained and the breakfasts were great! Linda & Wayne, the innkeepers, were extremely nice and discreet. They could be found easily if we had questions, but generally in the evenings left us to our own devices which was nice. If you are looking for a place to stay in the Central VA area, close to skiing, wineries, breweries, and the historic areas of Charlottesville and Staunton, this is a great deal and is close to many sights. We would visit again and would recommend to our friends.

Even at full capacity the house was quiet, we barely new anyone else was residing upstairs. We enjoyed the company of other guest in the morning during a delicious breakfast. The BB is also a short distance from Wintergreen resort, which we took advantage of for a day of skiing. Given the opportunity, we would return to the Belle Hearth.

Wayne and Linda are such welcoming and friendly innkeepers. They're both thoughtful- a gift when they found out my visit was because of my birthday-and so accommodating- making a 2nd trip to my room to re-light the fireplace at 10 pm after I accidentally extinguished the pilot light. Wonderful hosts, charming B&B and scenic area!

We were very pleased with our first visit to Belle Hearth. We received excellent and attentive service, a delicious breakfast, and outstanding accommodations.

The only negative aspect of our stay at Belle Hearth was that we were there for only a day. The owners are welcoming and warm. The residence is beautifully decorated with each room drawing you to stay and explore all that adorns the walls and shelves. Breakfast was three courses of delicious fruit, scones, and french toast with an orange sauce. If for no other reason visit for the scones!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Belle Hearth with Wayne and Linda again this holiday season. Again, super clean, super cute and smelled of cookies the entire stay. The room was great, warm and we had a gas fireplace and breakfast was very good every morning. Its very quaint and a very good value for your stay. If we visit again next holiday, we would like to take the Iris Room again! Wayne and Linda are both very helpful and fun to talk with at breakfast. Again, super clean, very 'home for the holidays' for us and very good value. Highly Recommend. :)

My husband and I both have allergies and found this B&B to be spotless! We had no problems even with the cat, Mrs. Mosby, on the premises. There are many antiques to look at, each with a story behind it. Wayne and Linda are special people who know how to make their guests feel welcome. Breakfast was delightful. Linda was accomodating in reviewing the menu with us since my husband has food intolerances. Over all a wonderful place to stay!

I've stayed multiple times at Belle Hearth while visiting my parents in Waynesboro (5-6 times?). Wayne and Linda are always welcoming and warm, the breakfast is delicious, and most important to me -the place is spotless! Also, Belle Hearth is in a safe area, so I never worry about coming in late at night or parking in the ample street parking right in front of the B&B. Having a fireplace in the room is also a very homey touch!

We stayed at Belle Hearth recently for only one night in November, but it certainly was enjoyable. Hosts were very accommodating & helpful with recommendations; the inn (circa 1900?) was very clean & well-kept; and the all-important breakfast was excellent. Most impressive, to us at least, were the antique furnishings, fireplaces, woodwork, & "knicknacks" on display throughout the inn. A mild negative was the lack of private parking (had to park in the street).

We decided to stay overnight somewhere near Charlottesville VA and the Blue Ridge Parkway on our way back from Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains. Belle Hearth B&B was perfect after a long day's ride. The rooms are delightful and cozy. Linda and Wayne are friendly and perfect hosts. They made us feel comfort sharing their home with us and gave us great suggestions for dinner locations and directions to nearby tourist attractions. We will recommend their B&B to our friends and hope to return someday.

The rooms were great, and well furnished. The innkeeper was extremely friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The way we were greeted was very nice. Wayne cooked us breakfast both days, and it was very, very good. There was so much of it. We weren't sure how to it would be to interact with total strangers during breakfast, but it was very nice and felt natural. The location is great, easy to get to, and I recommend you spend some time in nearby Staunton. We recommend this B&B, the reviews we read are spot on.

Wayne and Linda are exceptional hosts and know how to make you feel a part of the family, giving true meaning to my home is your home. The home itself is lovely and well maintained, leaving us not for wanting anything, other than to be able to stay longer if our schedule would have allowed. The drive there was easy to get to and not a long and drawn out ordeal. The recommended venue for out requested cuisine (Mexican) was beyond our expectations. I had the impression that whatever we requested, LInda and Wayne could provide an excellent suggestion. Thank you Linda and Wayne for a wonderful get away. We just stayed for two nights in late December, and could not have been more pleased. The Belle Hearth is a charming old house, well preserved with a very cozy atmosphere. All the rooms are quite unique. Wayne and Linda, the owners, are very friendly and quick to help you with any activities in the area. They also whip up a mean breakfast each morning. All in all, reasonably priced, in a great location, and very comfortable!
