Absolutely wonderful

We had the pleasure of staying here for two nights last week and it was wonderful. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. Our hosts were so welcoming and knowledgable about the area offering lots of ideas for dining and sightseeing. We especially enjoyed our 5 o'clock wine and home made cheese spread sitting in the porch. Both breakfasts were huge and absolutely delicious. We would recommend this B&B very highly.

Our stay at the B&B

The Cape Charles is a beautiful B&B. Quaint town. We hope to be able to return again.

This B&B is charming with lots of pretty decor. The neighborhood is good for walking and near the small downtown area. Our room was quiet and comfortable. When we arrived in the late afternoon Carol greeted us with a "bottomless " wine glass, showed us the wine and offered us a plate with cheese and crackers. Coffee was available early in the morning and breakfast was served in the formal dining room at the single large table. The food both mornings was delicious and beautifully presented. Our time was the highlight of our trip.

Exceeded my expectations

Cape Charles on the Chesapeake Bay

5 on August 03, 2016

Bruce and Carol were delightful innkeepers. They really made us feel at home. Their home was beautifully decorated and loaded with character. Breakfast was a real treat too. The breakfast was delicious and garnished with fresh garden flowers and herbs. The B & B is located in a quaint town on the bay. We were able to walk to dinner, the ice cream shop and the public beach. It was a very relaxing evening. We would stop again!

Innkeeper Response
Bruce was so pleased to know you noticed his herbs and flowers....each morning he hand selects what is to go on the plates! We hope Cape Charles will beckon you back!

23rd Anniversary stay

Carol & Bruce showed us a wonderful time, with a great room, great breakfast, and great conversation. We didnt even know Cape Charles was a very cool little township with nice family friendly beaches, and many golf carts on the roads. We would recommend staying at the Cape Charles House B&B, and we look forward to our next stay with them.

Innkeeper Response
We are a little gem of a pleased you chose to stay with us. The conversation at the breakfast table is where the magic happens at our B&B. So nice that you could be a part of that!

Vacation at Cape Charles

4.2 on July 26, 2016

We had a wonderful stay at Cape Charles B&B. The hosts were very hospitable and the house is a beautiful maintained/refurbished 1912 build. Love that we were walking distance to Main Street and the beach. We loved the delicious abundant breakfast. So filling we didn't need to eat until dinner in town.

Innkeeper Response
Yes! We are a walk-able town that slows us down to enjoy seeing things we forget about in our daily hectic lives! Thanks for taking the time to share you thoughtful comments. Do hope you will consider a stay with us again!

Julia Wilkins Room

King accommodation, sitting area, double Jacuzzi tub with shower, private balcony off bath. The room color was inspired by the Evans' collection of Royal Copenhagen Christmas Plates that border the upper wall. The blue platform rocker has a new was found abandoned in pieces in the basement. The bath is a double Jacuzzi and features a sitting balcony off the bathroom.

Nightly Rate: $199 - $229

Thomas Dixon Room

Queen accommodation with mantle and sitting area, double Jacuzzi tub and shower in private bath. Probably Carol's favorite room because it is filled with so many family memories. The central piece is the coverlet that hangs over the bed, made by a family member dating pre-Civil War, as is the dress on the mannequin. The collection of purses on the wall were in the family. The black purses were "re-cycled" from high silk hats into evening purses and the gold one was carried to President Wilson's Inaugural Ball. The bathroom has recently been renovated and now features a double Jacuzzi.

  • Maximum Capacity: 2
  • Bathroom Private Bath
  • Beds 1 Queen

Nightly Rate: $189 - $209

William L. Scott Room

Queen Accommodation with optional third person on pull-out sofa, sitting area with mantle, private vintage bath with original ball-and-claw tub and shower. The antique luggage incorporated into the room's decor is reminiscent of the baggage so often carried by rail travelers. The carved decoys are gifts from several personal friends of Bruce's. The bathroom was the original to the 2nd floor and has been made a private to the Scott room by moving a 6 foot radiator and opening the wall. The 6 1/2 foot ball and claw tub is circa 1912 and original to the house.

  • Maximum Capacity: 3
  • Bathroom Private Bath
  • Beds 1 Queen

Nightly Rate: $179 - $199

B. F. Kellogg Room

Queen accommodation, sitting area, neo-angle glass shower in private bathroom. Probably Bruce's favorite room because of it's warm yellow color and it overlooks his much loved and prideful gardens. This room was actually 2 rooms that were opened into one large sunny room with four large windows. The bathroom features hand painted textured walls, using a technique like ragging, only using "saran wrap". The pair of Crewel floral box pillows were hand stitched by Carol, as a gift to her Mother over 30 years ago.

  • Maximum Capacity: 2
  • Bathroom Private Bath
  • Beds 1 Queen

Nightly Rate: $169 - $189

Alexander Cassatt Room

Queen accommodation, shower in private bath. The furniture is hand painted by Carol's mother, circa 1950's, who was a decorative artist outside of Philadelphia. The cozy bath has been created by extending and enlarging a closet that has a shower and hand decorated textured walls.

  • Maximum Capacity: 2
  • Bathroom Private Bath
  • Beds 1 Queen

Nightly Rate: $159 - $169
