Abbey Moore is a beautiful manor. The house is a lovely combination of spacious, warm, welll appointed rooms, great fireplaces and porches, nice artwork and amazing comfort. The beds and sheets were wonderfully comfortable. Breakfasts were superb-- even better than the pictures! We loved th neighborhood and walked all over-- wonderful streets and gracious, interesting homes, the government house with gardens and deer across the street, the fairy village whimsically and carefully constructed in front of one of the houses, and the neighborhood castle. The innkeepers could not have been more friendly and helpful-- and the other guests we met were also quite friendly and very interesting. We loved our stay and give Abbeymore our highest recommendation. Beth and Bill from Maine
The Camelot room was so lovely, large and comfortable. A great room for two sisters sharing the space for a few days. The breakfasts were outstanding, gluten free options included! Thank you David , Michael, Micheleand Lisa for such a lovely time visiting there. Very convenient also to downtown Victoria and Cooks Village.
My stay at Dashwood Manor was my first stay at a B&B! Really a wonderful stay in every way! Breakfasts were wonderful tasting and beautifully served! The service was excellent from everyone. The location is perfect right across from the ocean and within walking distance to a little area with shopping and restaurants! My room was perfect for me (The Tudor). The owners were wonderful very friendly and helpful!
We were excited to find a B & B option in Victoria that included wonderful lodging and a brew pub together! The GuestHouse was just wonderful, very quaint and comfortable rooms, and the food at Spinnakers Brewpub was terrific, as was the beer! We would definitely stay there again!
First and foremost, Dashwood Manor likely has the best location in all of Victoria. The southern side of the house faced out over the water. Cross the street, and you are on the beach at Clover Point. Cross the street to the west, and you are in Beacon Hill park. For location alone, this would be the place to stay. Owners Michael and David (as well as their team members Lisa and Michel), however, do not rely on location alone to make your stay enjoyable. They are warm, friendly hosts who are extremely knowledgeable about area activities and restaurants. In addition, the rooms are comfortable, well-appointed, and immaculate. In terms of quality of service and quality of experience, this is quite possibly the nicest B & B I have ever visited. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. If you want to see the very best of Victoria, and be comfortable, well-fed, and a little pampered - this is the place!
Our stay in late September was our second at Dashwood Manor, and it surpassed expectations. Again, David and Michael were charming hosts, the service was impeccable and the breakfasts delicious. The Manor is located across from Beacon Hill Park and adjacent to the coast, offering great walks and views. David and Michael always provide good advice on where to dine and sites to see.
This is a great old manor house that captures the history and charm you expect of Victoria. Michael and David have done a great job maintaining the home's original ambiance, while making sure there are modern conveniences. The location was better than I imagined with great walking and beach access just across the street, fabulous restaurants just down the block and easy access to the freeways traveling to the Butchart Gardens and Hatley Castle. I can't say enough good about the herb omelet breakfast. Outstanding food and a view that can't be beat. We just wanted an easy getaway and Dashwood Manor exceeded our expectations. We had a great time! Thank You!
We stayed two nights at Dashwood and couldn't have been more pleased. Our room had a wonderful view of the water and the mountains over on the Olympic Peninsula. The room was large and airy and the bathroom was huge. Breakfast was delicious and David & Michael were very helpful hosts with excellent advice about local attractions. I would definitely stay there again if I were going to be in Victoria.
We enjoyed a wonderful time at the Dashwood B&B while visiting Victoria. Great service, accommodations, and delightful breakfast. Hosts were friendly and offer a great place to stay while enjoying the sites of Victoria.
Lovely B&B, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable hosts. So comfortable in The Cambridge. Wonderful location right across the street from the water and walking/running path. Walk everywhere - including Cook Street Village with restaurants, market etc.
If you are looking for a quiet space with beautifully presented breakfasts and special touches like home-baked cookies before retiring for the night, this is the place for you. My room faced the ocean and the quaint surroundings included everything I needed. If I were missing something, I'm sure one of the two personable owners or their capable staff would have raced to get it for me. The location is great with Beacon Hill Park across the street and some fun shops and great places to eat just a short walk away. Loved my stay and will definitely be back.
What a wonderful and peaceful place! My husband and I wanted to find a place "off the beaten path" so to speak! This B&B is located 12 min from Victoria, North East from Buchart Gardens, nestled in the forest on the mountain. The hosts greeted us so warmly and were a joy and so much fun to be around! The service they gave us was wonderful. We swam in the pool, enjoyed the hot tub and David kindly showed us some walking trails around their place. The breakfast was wonderful. The atmosphere was welcoming and so much fun! We felt at home right away! The room was a little small, but we were late with our booking, so we got their so called spare room. It was still lovely! The location is awesome and we truly enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful setting! The views are incredible! We will come back for sure! Thank you David and Jill for making our stay so lovely!
Nicest B&B we've ever stayed at. Just charming with a large room, comfy bed and ocean view. Michael and David went above and beyond in helping us with great recommendations that just suited what we were looking for. Their breakfasts were a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach, made to order every morning and served by charming young lady who was equally helpful. I'd definitely stay here again. Don't miss it.
Lovely B&B, comfortable linens and amenities. Highly recommend. One note of improvement; please eliminate the dated fake flower arrangements from the rooms and parlor areas. They take you back to the 80's, not nostalgic really, and so easily replaced with faux fruit or simple fronds. It's worth $10 for a live plant in the dining room!
On our trip from Calgary through the Rockies to Vancouver Island we stayed in some very nice B&Bs. But this one was really outstanding. The location right at the sea was great, you could experience stunning sunsets just some steps away and after a short walk through Beacon Hill Park you are right in downtown. The rooms (we had the room "Cambridge") are lovingly and modernly furnished. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The hosts Michael & David are very friendly and supportive and do their best to help you plan your day. Victoria was one of the best places of our trip and whenever we come back, we will definatelybook Dashwood Manor again.
From the warm welcome, to the smell of baking in the oven when we entered the home, to the well appointed room and amazing breakfast, there is nothing bad to say about this B&B. It is close to all kind sof shops and the ocean. And, if you have a ferry to catch back to the BC mainland, the B&B is well located for a short trip.
We are from the Southern US where hospitality is revered. Our stay at the Fisher House was absolutely fantastic and exceeded our expectations. Great food, great location, and cozy accommodations all combine for a pleasant getaway in a fun city on the western seaboard.
This is an exceptional property; located near the ocean and Beacon Hill Park . Within walking distance of the central city and harbour. Breakfasts are divine. With the American dollar now at a very favorable exchange rate against the Canadian dollar - an incredible bargain!
David was wonderfully friendly and kind. He drove us from the airport and downtown as we needed. It was the perfect getaway after our hectic wedding. The view can't be beat, and we enjoyed the hot tub and the complementary wine :)
