Meadowood Farm

557 Bennett Hill Rd , Shaftsbury, VT 05262 USA (Show map)

Meadowood Farm offers elegant and spacious accommodations. Located between the Vermont towns of Bennington and Manchester, the Farm offers days of wonderful recreation, touring, shopping and evenings at casual or fine dining restaurants. Meadowood Farm is available for rental periods of 2 to 5 nights from May through December. The Farm is a wonderful place during those months. Spring and summer offer warm days and cool nights. Central air conditioning is available for warmer periods. Foliage is exceptional as there are over 300 maple trees on the Farm's 18 acres. Sugaring season occurs during March each year providing maple syrup for spring, summer, and fall breakfasts. By November and December snow is expected. The Farm offers two antique-filled king bed rooms with private bathrooms on the second floor in our Farmhouse. All bedrooms have a flat-screen TV and desks. The Farmhouse rooms accommodate two guests. Free wifi is available in all areas. A ground-floor suite in a new addition offers privacy and space. Equipped with a full kitchen, great room, king bedroom, and bathroom, this suite of rooms can accommodate three or four guests. On the second floor, a spacious luxury suite is available during foliage season; double occupancy only. Both suites have efficiency cooking facilities, multiple rooms and TVs, massive king beds, and panoramic views from the picture window overlooking the Farm’s five-acre meadow, forest, and mountains beyond.

lovely experience

5 on April 17, 2018

Our stay, last summer, was delightful.Donna and Cliff could not have been more gracious. The space was very comfortable, with lovely views and walking trails, right on the property. The location and space fit our needs perfectly and we are looking forward to returning this summer. Although a bed and breakfast, we opted to prepare our own meals in the well stocked kitchen, so we can't really comment on the food, except for delicious home made muffins that were waiting for us on arrival.

Gorgeous inn with a great location

5 on October 14, 2011

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights recently on a tour through New England. The inn is in a perfect location - very close to Bennington but also a reasonable driving distance to Manchester and Arlington. Unfortunately, the weather was not good for our stay, but our hosts were very helpful in suggesting fun things to do in any kind of weather (Cliff even sat down and drew us a map!). Our room was large and luxurious and our bathroom was great - a fabulous single stall shower with an adjacent soaking tub. Breakfast was wonderful: fresh baked homemade muffins, omelettes one day and pancakes the next - Cliff and Donna are both great cooks. They also have 3 great dogs that make the house even more cheerful and welcoming. I can't find enough nice things to say about this inn!

We were met in the driveway, with an offer to help with our bags. The home and grounds were just beautiful. We enjoyed a glass of wine on their terrace, over looking a beautiful meadow. Donna and Cliff are seasoned Innkeepers, who make you feel very comfortable and welcome in their lovely home. They have thought of everything that you might need to make your stay comfortable, and have the best of everything. The breakfast that Donna prepared for us included, a hot apple sauce, muffins, and I chose pancakes with their maple syrup, wonderful. My only concern is that I will never be satisfied with another stay in a B&B, because they have set such a high standard. Booked this as just a place to stay and it turned into a highlight of our trip. More than satisfied from NY.

Beautiful Scenery and Accomodations

We stayed mostly because there were dogs living there and our old dog felt very much ast home, but It was truly lovely and every bit as luxurious as an inn, bhut with the quaint atmosphere of a secluded horsefarm. Having our dog let us explore the area, including visiting the horse pen and chatting with owner--- of the B & B and the horse! We had never stayed in southern VT before, and the whole exoerience was enhanced by being at the Mewadowood. Foioid w2as great and the room perfectly made up and clean and tidy. All in all, a great visit!

This was our first B&B experience. From day 1, our host Cindy, was very helpful and friendly. The Inn is decorated with a lot of warmth and charm, which made us feel right at home. Definitely will come back. Boston, MA -Susie + Al-
