I am a single woman who stayed at the Green River Bridge House for a relaxing weekend away. It could not have been more perfect! Joan was so accommodating and kind from start to finish. She meets guests at the front door, and the check-in is informal and immediate. Joan explained that she'd checked my room ahead of time, and discovered that the AC wasn't working. She had already prepared one of the other rooms for me at no extra charge. It couldn't have been more perfect for the weekend of quiet that I needed (private balcony, whirlpool tub, beautiful antique furniture). The room was cozy and very clean. The rooms are set up so that you don't share walls with the other rooms, so I never heard the other guests. Joan has an absolutely beautiful backyard. She’s set up a little path with chairs so guests can enjoy sitting by the stream that runs along the side of her property. The inn is about 4 miles back on a dirt road, so sitting by the stream is lovely! There is a covered bridge and small damn directly past the house, providing beautiful scenery for a walk off the property. Joan made the most lovely breakfasts every morning, which she served community style in her beautiful dining room. She was careful to ask if there were any food restrictions and was very accommodating to my vegetarian diet. I really enjoyed talking to Joan over breakfast each morning. She's a very interesting, lovely woman! As fun as our conversations were, she was aware I was there to relax and made sure that I was not disturbed during the day or in the evenings. I cannot recommend the Green River Bridge House enough! I wish I could have stayed an extra week, and very much look forward to getting back there!

We came here seeking peace and relaxation. We found that and more. The GRBH is in a beautiful secluded location, next to the covered bridge from which it gets its name. A log dam creates two fabulous swimming holes, and the clapboard church across the way adds its New England charm. All of this is just 20 minutes from funky Brattleboro (partly via a dirt road), and its restaurants and shops. The owner, Joanie, runs the place with Australian charm and friendliness. The breakfasts were delicious. The rooms are clean and simply furnished, with beautiful chandeliers she acquired on her travels. We generally like to try different B&Bs each vacation, bet we will definitely be coming back the the GRBH.

My husband and I recently spent two nights at this lovely B&B and we couldn't be more pleased that we did. The inn sits nestled next to a beautiful river that was so peaceful to listen to at night. The grounds were exquisite, with the beautiful trees in full fall color on view from the back porch, upon which my husband and I sat at each morning and night. The entire B&B was beautiful and cozy. When we first walked in I felt like I was home. The owner Joan was one of the nicest, sweetest people we have ever met. She was accommodating with my husband and my dietary needs. When we were sitting outside one night she came outside right away and turned the tiki torches on so we had enough light. Joan made me feel like I was visiting a good friend. This will not be our last time staying here. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing get away this is the place for you.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to stay here recently, and were immediately taken over by the charm of the proprietor and serenity of the grounds. The rush of the river provides a constant soothing white noise, and the well-appointed house truly feels like home. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the stories around the table entertaining, as well all leaned in closely to hear the tale of the house. It's proximity to Brattleboro (about 10 minute's drive), makes the house convenient to the action, yet secluded and quiet. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Our room was utterly charming. We had a view of the river, and were entertained by the wildlife we watched from our deck. It was totally relaxing. Joan's breakfasts were delicious. As we visited with her and the other guests, we felt like family. We enjoyed strolling through the autumn leaves and feeling close to nature.

A beautiful home and a wonderful host. This Bed and Breakfast has spectacular views and beautiful gardens. Joan the innkeeper made us feel so at home. Her home is clean and comfortable. Every bedroom had it's own bathroom. You feel so relaxed when staying there. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! I can't wait to go back.

We have recently returned from a wonderful weekend retreat at the Green River Bridge Inn in Brattleboro Vt. We would highly recommend a stay in this beautiful country inn. The inn keeper was most welcoming and provided wonderful breakfasts. We hope to go back for another stay.
