Built in 1868, this Italianate Victorian offers rare accommodations, early morning coffee/tea tray and elegant breakfast settings. Visit our website for more details. The Crosby House is decorated to reflect the genteel lifestyle of the 1800's with family heirlooms and collected antiques, but with the present comforts: such as gas fireplaces, whirlpool tub, private baths, AC, CableTV and wireless internet. Landscaped gardens with stone walls, gazebo and ponds border 9 miles of woodland walking/XC/snowshoeing trails yet downtown shops and restaurants are only a short 1/2 mile walk.

My husband and I spent two nights at 1868 Crosby House and really loved it. Maria, the caretaker, was warm, friendly, and very helpful - not to mention that she went to culinary school and cooks the MOST amazing breakfasts ever. Bring your appetite! The rooms were spotless and inviting, the grounds are beautiful and well cared for, and there are many spots to enjoy some privacy or to socialize with the other wonderful people also staying there. If we decide to head to Brattleboro again next year, we will absolutely stay here.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I truly enjoyed visiting with you both, and I do hope to see you again next year! :)

Innkeeper Lynn Kuralt and her grand daughter, Abby, provided a warm welcome to this gracious home. Located within walking distance of town, Crosby House is set in acres of wooded gardens that invite a hike or a quiet read under a tree. Both the bedrooms and public rooms are beautifully furnished in comfortable period furniture. Breakfasts were delicious. Lynn and Abby provided several great suggestions for restaurants and points of interest. I can't wait to return.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review the Crosby House. It makes us very happy to hear about your stay and can't wait to see you again!

Set in acres of beautiful wooded gardens, The 1868 Crosby House is the perfect place to stay if you are going to Brattleboro. Lynn Kuralt and her family are warm and welcoming, the rooms are enormous and nicely appointed in period furniture, and the bathrooms are updated. Several public rooms provide views of the garden and lots of comfy furniture for quiet reading or napping. Breakfasts are superb, and the location is perfect for walking into town or exploring the neighborhood. I will definitely return.
What a lovely review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again, soon! Thank you.

This bed and breakfast has most definitely set the bar high for all that will follow! From the moment we arrived, our first experience of this kind, the owner was kind and very informative. She was kind enough to break out a map of the area after understanding what we wanted to do on the day we arrived! She pointed us in the direction of some great eats, gave us suggestions for fun stops along the way, and advised that she was prepping a fresh homemade apple pie that would be waiting on the counter upon our return.

We visit various B&B's and this one was very nice. Lynn was so friendly, kind and accommodating. The room was very clean, and neat. Our room had a fireplace that operated on a timer for about 2 hours so you could turn it on and it would turn itself off if you fell asleep. the only draw back was that breakfast was only from 7:00 to 9:30. We tend to like to sleep in a little, so it would have been nice to get breakfast around 10:00 or 10:30. However, the breakfast was stellar, Lynn makes excellent breakfasts!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review! AND....thank you too for your kind remarks. When you come again, I'll try to squeeze in a later breakfast - if at all possible:-)

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary this past weekend. I can't say that I can find anything to complain about. The inn is beautiful, clean, spacious. We really enjoyed the trails behind the house- hiking in the early fall there was perfect. I can't rave enough over Lynn's breakfast! We didn't leave a bite behind. Truly a wonderful B&B! A few extra great things- 1/2 mile walk to cute little down town area. Whetstone for a beer and a burger is a MUST! Peter havens for a fancy/Delish dinner was delightful and Kiplins Pub was a great place for a night cap. All walking distance. We are so glad we decided against going to Manchester and trying a smaller town. You won't regret it. The Brunner's
It's good to know that you enjoyed your visit here as much as I enjoyed having you! Thank you for such kind words....I sure appreciate them....and you!

My wife and I booked through booking. com and this place lived up to the positive reviews--and then some. Lynn and Richard are "perfect" hosts, from the welcome to the tour to dealing with a problem, they are as good as they get Positives are almost too many to list: 1. Early check-in--1PM! 2. Best breakfasts we ever had--Lynn is amazing with fruits and entrees--e.g. poached pears, kiwi\clementine combos, french toast croissants, ham and eggs and cheddar--WOW!poached pears and "french toast" croissants--words can't do the deliciousness justice. 3. Had a problem with an overflowing toilet--they switched us to another room immediately--they said it would be done, we didn't have to ask . 3. a Jacuzzi that is people friendly. All faucets, controls etc. are above where people in the tub actually recline\sit, not problem haveing a faucet in your back. a timer so you can luxuriate for x amount of time, and know when it's done. 4. Suggestions and feedback for local attractions, restaurants, etc. they even shared what they like and why. 5. the little things--mints in the room, 24 hour coffee, etc. (Keurig with coffees, teas, cider, etc.) and snacks available. 6. You say when you want breakfast the next day, and 30 minutes before, coffee\tea service delivered to your room. 7. CD\DVD\book library 8. Toiletries--in case anyone forgot anything, available in same room as library. Minor drawbacks: 1. Can hear the traffic from rt. 9 in some rooms, light sleepers take note. 2. The chairs in the rooms are not well positioned to view TV\DVDs
