We came across the Hornsby House Inn while touring Yorktown during our son's orientation at William and Mary. We decided to stay here, instead of Williamsburg, on our next visit. This B&B is a delightful alternative to the chain hotels and is competitively priced. We had a pleasant two day stay and met some wonderful fellow guests. Dave and Phil are the perfect hosts, along with Jeanette (a budding opera star). From the afternoon wine and cheese by the fireplace to the hearty homemade breakfast, we were made to feel right at home. The Magnolia Room was just right with a beautiful view of the Yorktown Victory Monument. We can't wait to come back!

The Hornsby Inn is a great B&B. The house has a lot of charm. The breakfast was delicious! The owners sat down and told some if the history of the house and area. We recommend highly recommend the Hornsby Inn.

My wife and I have stayed at the Hornsby House Inn three times over the past four years. This is a beautiful home in historic Yorktown. David and Phil Hornsby go far beyond what is typical in a bed and breakfast setting to make their guests feel welcomed, special, and comfortable. We always end up feeling more like residents of this community instead of guests in a strange town.

This is the review I just submitted on TripAdvisor for the Inn ¿¿ : I don't know how to start off and put into words how amazing and great our experience was at the Hornsby House Inn. From the moment I spoke to David to book the room, I knew it was going to be a great experience. He was very kind, friendly and helpful over the phone. We were due to arrive after 9:30p on Thursday and it was no trouble at all. When we pulled up to the house our jaws dropped. It's a beautiful home! We came inside and texted Jeanette to come let us in and give us our key to our room. She was extremely pleasant and courteous when we met her. She made us feel at home there. The room was spacious and beautiful and clean. We had the best sleep in years in the bed! We stayed in the Hornsby Room on the 3rd floor with great views of Yorktown and the monument near the water. We woke up to the smell of an amazing aroma of bacon, eggs and coffee. It also tasted as great as it smelled. Jeanette made "to die for" eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce that was Perfection! She's amazing. David also had muffins, sausage and bacon, homemade cereal and local ground coffee... which is the best coffee I've ever had. David joined us for breakfast each morning, promptly at 8:45am. He always gave us history on the house and the Yorktown battle which was great. The best had to be stories of him and his brothers growing up in the house and the headaches they gave his mother. Everyday at 5pm they offer you wine and cheese, they made sure my glass was never empty. David will give you tips and passes if you need them for the surrounding tourist attractions. David and his brother Philip were a joy to talk to. Jeanette was a pleasure to get to know and was great. I highly recommend choosing this B&B to stay in, you won't be disapointed! We'll be back again, I wish sooner than later.

Our daughter reserved the Hornsby House for her wedding, so we rented the whole house for the entire weekend. It was so much fun! Breakfast each morning and wine and cheese in the evenings. The weekend we had the wedding happen to fall on the weekend of Hurricane Matthew. Saturday night the electric went out In the area, but we still had electric!! Hornsby House has a Generator!! So we were still able to enjoy the rest of the wedding and still had a nice hot breakfast in the morning. After we checked out and returned home I notice I forgot one of my belonging at the Inn., I called the Inn and talked to David and Jeanette. They found it and sent it to my address. Now where else could you find such gracious people? Thank you David and Jeanette!! I can't wait to go back to Hornsby House Inn. But next time, it won't be because of a wedding, it will be to relax and enjoy the whole atmosphere and history of this beautiful Historic House!! If you are coming to Yorktown, Hornsby House Inn is the place to stay!!

My husband an l returned to this dear B&B 2 years after our first perfect visit. We wished for another"get away",and had heard that new Historical Museum Was open in Yorktown so we did tour (wonderful, wonderful) and then ,all worn Out we went back to wine and cheese time, sat in the front porch rockers and Was delighted to hear our host Dave, with his amazing historical knowledge, talk of battle of Yorktown! How's that for relaxed moments, for whichwe came! And a word or two about breakfast at the charming family D.R.For our 2 days there we loved every mouthful, and I Returned home with a copy of the most amazing cook book authored by our hosts' Mother,Mrs.Bowdich.Now l have the best receipe ever for cheese grits. David and Jeanette were the BEST! Not only did I enjoy hearing about the history of the house, but the food- yum! My room was very comfortable and spacious. It is right in Yorktown, everything just minutes away. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Hornsby House Inn. Look for the matriarch's rules for her sons. Andy Atkinson

Our hearts can not express the gratitude and joy that the Hornsby Inn gave us on our wedding weekend and day. David and his staff are amazing , Jeanette is phenenomal My advice to any bride is to book the entire house including the carriage for your special day and weekend. We had our rehearsal dinner at the Hornsby everyone loved it. Our wedding day was outstandingly beautiful. Our bridal party and family loved every moment of staying at the Hornsby. The house is just stunning. Breakfast is just amazing . Thank you very much For making everything so spectacular Michael and kimberly Ewig

We chose to stay at the Hornsby House because it looked attractive and is conveniently situated for short drives to all the historical sites nearby. Upon our arrival we knew we had made the right choice. The house is as charming as we had hoped and David and Philip warmly greeted us with wine and cheese and crackers on the front patio. Guests can enjoy this area and other welcoming spots in the common areas of the house, like the parlor with a piano, the side porch or the sunlit library. This charming house is filled with lovely antiques and family mementos - we particularly liked the entertaining writings of their mother. Each morning we enjoyed the convivial atmosphere over delicious breakfasts held in the formal dining room. David would tell us of the history and points of interest in the area, along with some amusing family anecdotes! We highly recommend staying at the Hornsby House and look forward to visiting again.

As we were planning our trip to Williamsburg, we initially wanted to stay in one of the hotels or B&Bs on the Williamsburg property. I somehow came upon this bed and breakfast in Yorktown, which is a short, beautiful drive to Williamsburg. We just returned from a long weekend at the Hornsby House, and could not be more pleased with our choice. David and Phil are the perfect gentlemen and hosts, and Sarah the house manager was so helpful. Breakfast was amazing, accommodations were great, and the charm of the house cannot be beat. The thing we loved most about the Hornsby House was its location. My husband is a huge history buff, and the house sits just steps away from the Yorktown battlefields. Our room overlooked the York River. Yorktown is a very convenient location, and it is only about 20 minutes from both Jamestown and Williamsburg. We enjoyed walking down to the shops and restaurants on Main Street in Yorktown, and we even had a picnic on the beach one afternoon. I can't say enough great things about this house and its owners. You truly get the best of all worlds: history, hospitality, relaxation and charm. Hope to visit again some day!

I chose the Hornsby House Inn for a place for myself and my bridesmaids to get ready the day before my wedding. The night of my wedding, my husband and I stayed here. This place is beautiful and the innkeeper was amazing and attentive! I would reccomend this place to anyone. The pictures do not even begin to do the place any justice. I was blown away with the service I received. My stay here really helped to make my special day even more special and I cannot thank the Hornsby House enough. My husband and I have considered making this our first anniversary get away!

What an outstanding experience this was for my wife and I! We loved every single minute that we stayed at the Hornsby House! Not only were David, Philip and Sarah so friendly, warm and accommodating, they even invited my son over for wine and cheese and breakfast the next morning! It was so very much like returning to a long lost friend's home rather than staying at an Inn! Breakfast was excellent and we were given superior service all the way around. My wife and I are "picky" travelers, but we were won over the very first day at the Hornsby House--we've even made our reservations for NEXT year! Absolutely charming and a fabulous place to stay!

If you could create a perfect B&B then Hornsby house would be tight at the top of the best!

We choose the Hornsby House to celebrate our wedding anniversary and found the accommodations fantastic. What fun to sit down with the owner next to a warm fire to hear about his family and the history of this beautiful home. Sarah did an exceptional job feeding us and the afternoon wine and cheese gatherings added to the charm of this experience. Thanks to Dave and Phil for spending time with us at breakfast. Loved how close it was to the waterfront in Yorktown, and minutes away from the historic battlefield.

My company has been using the Hornsby House for January retreats for the last four years. This last stay was, as always, exceptional. The innkeepers, Dave and Phil, are warm, welcoming, and gracious. The wine and cheese afternoons and breakfasts are abundant and well-prepared. The house itself is big, comfortable, and (perfect for January) supplied with both wood-burning and gas fireplaces. Our favorite room is the Monument, which has a wood-burning fireplace in the bedroom itself, but the River View is also gorgeous. An easy walk to several different restaurants and the riverfront. Highly recommended.

We stayed at HHI during a slow time so we could take our baby. The innkeeper was gracious and welcomed our little one. He make recommendations for activities we could do even in the cold of winter. We thoroughly enjoyed curling up near the main fireplace, and the one in our room, to relax and enjoy wine and cheese. It's a lovely home that we felt comfortable to use and "live" in during our stay. Will absolutely stay again.

We spent two nights at the Hornsby House and enjoyed every minute of it. I am vegan and they went out of there way to give me a great breakfast. If you are vegan or vegetarian I recommend you stay here. One of the owners David sat with us for breakfast and told us about the history of the house, Yorktown and surrounding areas he was full of information. Yorktown is an adorable place, and we hope to come back and visit again with them in the next couple of years.

I made a wise decision when I decided to book a room at Hornsby House Inn. A beautiful home rich with family history shared by David at breakfast. Everyone working at the Inn went above and beyond to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The area surrounding the Inn provided many enjoyable memories for us. We will definitely stay at the Hornsby House Inn when we decide to visit the area again. Thank you David, Philip and the Staff for a wonderful visit to Yorktown and the Hornsby House Inn.

We took our mom on a trip to Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown in celebration of her 75th birthday and I booked us into the Hornsby House Inn B&B as part of the trip. Wonderful choice! Rooms are spacious and comfy, the house is gorgeous, David is a charming and informative host and the breakfast was yummy! Highly recommended as a great place to stay!

My wife and I stayed this past weekend. The Hornsby House Inn is beautiful and the service was outstanding. The location is perfect if you are looking for a quiet getaway to see historic Yorktown with local restaurants in short walking distance. Our breakfast each morning was outstanding with homemade recipes that were delicious and David and Phil (owners) joined us for breakfast both mornings as well with the other guests. The inn also hosts wine and cheese in the evenings at 5pm which is another great feature to just relax with other guests or you can also grab a glass of wine and sit outside on the rocking chairs. Lastly, David arranged for an onsite couples massage during our stay and it was phenomenal. I would highly recommend this B&B for a weekend getaway!

My family stayed at the Hornsby House Inn for a beautiful spring weekend, our first visit to Historic Yorktown. We stayed in the Monument room and you could see the monument and the river from the balcony. It was an enormous room with a king bed, two twins, and a seating area by the fire. The girls imagined they were at Downton Abbey and in fact there was a bell on the dining room table at breakfast. The food was absolutely delicious and we did not need lunch either day. We had eggs benedict, cheese grits, blueberry cobbler, sausage, bacon, Virginia Ham, fresh squeezed juice, potatoes... There were large bowls of Hershey kisses throughout the house, plus wine and cheese at 5:00 on the front porch each afternoon. There were wonderful stories about a waterman's life on the York River, plus the history of the house itself. There are so many personal touches and the two brothers that grew up in the house and now run the B&B truly love what they do and do it so well. This is absolutely the finest B&B I have had the pleasure of visiting. And the location is ideal -- it is a short, scenic walk to the Riverwalk where you can enjoy galleries, quaint shops, icecream, and excellent seafood. The used bookstore was delightful and the seafood was some of the best I've ever had. It was a perfect weekend and we look forward to visiting again!

We stayed during a very cold snap weather wise and were so glad we had chosen Hornsby House. It is an exceptionally beautiful home, tastefully decorated and styled. Our room, the Monument room was perfect with a view of the monument obviously, and an open log fire which was a real bonus. Kirsten looked after us really well and we were amazed to be allowed to have the run of the house as we were the only people staying at the time. David arrived on our last morning and couldn't have been more welcoming and generous with his time and suggestions. Mount Vernon was so worthwhile so thanks for that tip David. I highly recommend this wonderful home.

We had several couples stay together in the Hornsby House Inn and it was a wonderful time, we felt very welcome and comfortable and were intrigued by the history of the house and the family as soon as you walk in the doors. I would give it a try, you will love the truth about where you are.

Superb accommodations in a stately 1934 mansion house. Every guest quickly becomes a member of the family as owners Dave and Phil provide delicious breakfasts and relaxing wine and cheese delights each morning and evening. Hospitality and service are outstanding - Dave provided travel tips, recommendations and reservations at local restaurants, and even an audio tour of the adjacent Yorktown battlefield. A great place to get away, relax, and experience American history.

We spent the weekend in Yorktown to celebrate our son's graduation from Coast Guard A-School which is just down the street from the Hornsby House Inn. The owners, brothers David and Philip Bowditch, made us feel very welcome, providing us with historical information about the area and sharing stories of their childhood home. The breakfasts were bountiful with bacon, eggs, and cheese grits served on their grandmother's china. We also enjoyed afternoon wine and cheese, watching the Main Street "traffic" from the comfort of the front porch rocking chairs. David and Philip also provided us with good information about activities in the area as well as recommendations for lunches and dinners. All in all it was a wonderful weekend.

Just completed our third stay and continue to enjoy this venue as a great place to meet with friends and enjoy each other's company in any of the lovely common areas, i.e. the veranda overlooking the Yorktown Victory monument that overlooks the York River, the beautifully appointed dining room, living room and side porch room as well as the side screened porch. The "Inn Keepers--David and Phil" are wonderful hosts who grew up in the house and know all of its history. They are also helpful in introducing you to all that the Yorktown area offers, i.e., museums, sunset cruises, restaurants, etc. Yorktown has all the charm of Williamsburg and much less traffic.

My husband and I own a b&b in Richmond, VA, so we are extra particular about the b&bs we stay in when we travel. Phil and Dave and the Hornsby House offered a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back! The house and the history of the years it has been in their family is just wonderful and you feel like you're part of the family from the minute you enter! The rooms are lovely and well decorated and have all the comforts of home! We especially loved the cozy sun room where we met other guests for wine and cheese while Dave and Phil shared with us stories of the history of the family home...so special!! These two are so wonderfully hospitable and very entertaining! Breakfast was fabulous and another fun opportunity to hear more history and stories. We can't wait to bring the family back in the spring time and enjoy the lovely views from the front porch! Don't miss this wonderful find if your travels bring you to Yorktown!

We did a family Christmas trip to Williamsburg and Yorktown. The home is beautiful. Additionally, it is located within walking distance of great waterfront restaurants and the National Battlefield. It is a short drive to Williamsburg. But the best part was the owners, brothers, spent time getting to know us, ate with us, and made us feel like family. It is a must stay!

The Hornsby House Inn is a fabulous bed and breakfast. My husband and I have stayed at a number of Bed and Breakfasts over the years and this one, hands down, gave the best value for the money. The room was lovely. The breakfasts were delicious. The wine and cheese in the evenings were perfect. Dave, Phil and Meghan went out of their way to share their knowledge of the town with us and made sure we had everything we needed to have an outstanding vacation. We hope to make it back to Hornsby House Inn soon!

I had a delightful four-night stay at Hornsby House. My room was comfortable and attractive, the character of the house was charming, and the host was outstanding. The breakfasts were wonderful--cheese grits, eggs, granola , juice, fruit, great coffee, etc. One morning eggs benedict were served, along with bacon, fruit, sausage, etc. I don't like poached eggs, so our thoughtful host scrambled eggs for me alone--after preparing and serving eggs benedict to the other guests. This demonstrates the thoughtful service to guests at Hornsby House Inn.

The brothers, Philip and David who grew up in the house, gave us stories about the house as well as the history of the area. They were phenomenal hosts and made us feel as though it was our house as well. Breakfast and the evening wine and cheese were fantastic. We also had the pleasure of meeting Bowtie Bill the new addition to the family. We will be back.

My family and I just returned home from our vacation in colonial Williamsburg. We stayed at the Hornsby House Inn and we could NOT be more pleased with our choice! Though we loved exploring Williamsburg & Yorktown, half of our stupendous experience was because of our room & board at the Hornsby. We absolutely loved how at home we felt, the food & camaraderie, and our hosts -- David & Philip. The Bowditch Brothers are positively delightful! They are laid back, accommodating, and have really timely sense of humors. We got such a kick out of them; just loved how they invited us in like friends or family. They were very assisting, but we never felt like they were intrusive (like some B&B hosts can be). I can't express how welcoming and friendly their demeanors are... Likewise, this was my daughter's first time stay at a Bed & Breakfast and (other than understanding there were other guests and she needed to use her inside voice (she is nine)) she LOVED every aspect of it -- even the wine & cheese at 5PM where she got to drink a little soda in a "fancy glass" with the adults. :) She said one of the days we were there, "I think we should just live in this house. Forever!" Her most favorite part -- besides the garlic cheese grits at breakfast -- was when David asked her if she liked dolls, then he brought out an antique doll from a vintage box of heirlooms. At this point, she was won! I don't think she'll ever want to stay in a hotel again. Thank you for the stellar stay, Hornsby House! We feel like we now have a home-away-from-home in Yorktown, and not only will we one day return, but we have spread the good word to anyone looking for a relaxing, low-key, and enchanting stay in VA. Thanks, again, galore! ~ Heather Angelika, Wilhelmina Indigo, & Sean Dooley-Pecor

We have just returned from spending five days at America’s Historic Triangle of Williamsburg – Jamestown – Yorktown. While visiting the Triangle, we stayed at the Hornsby House Inn in Yorktown. David and Philip, who are the Innkeepers, were wonderful and welcoming hosts. The rooms were fantastic. Plus, we thoroughly enjoyed visiting with the other guests over a great Breakfast and at High Tea at 5 PM each day. We have never visited the area before and the Innkeepers were very helpful in pointing out the most important places to visit, since our time was limited. We will definitely return again.

We stayed at this Bed n Breakfast in the middle of June and had a wonderful experience. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the suite due to the lack of other guests before the summer rush hit and it was a gorgeous treat with a beautiful patio where we spent most of our evenings. Despite the warm muggy weather the house and our room was always perfectly cool. Breakfast was delicious (but I would have liked more coffee) and the history of the house only adds to its charm. We had wine at 5pm and one night we were able to see the fife and drums go by. It was just a perfectly cozy stay and we enjoyed every moment of it, especially being close to ALL the historical sites we wanted to visit. David could not have been more helpful and he and his brother were a joy to share our experience with. I will stay there again ANY time we go back to VA. Thank you so much-- Brian and Juliana

My wife and I are from Maine, and planned to spend a few days in and around Virginia's "historic triangle" of Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown. We chose to stay at the Hornby House, which turned out to be the perfect base of operations for such a trip. It was quiet and beautiful, with a great view of the Chesapeake from the center of Yorktown. But it was also right off the Colonial Parkway and thus a short, easy and pretty drive to Williamsburg and Jamestown. David and Phil were outstanding and pleasant hosts, and make a fine breakfast. Their family house is full of interesting details and charm. This is the place to stay anywhere near this area.

Good location for a history stroll and especially fun on Market Days. Walk to the water too!

This was our first stay at a B&B. We were very pleased. The whole house was decorated very nice. There were individual AC/Heat units in each room that were very quiet and nice to have. Can't say enough about Phil and Dave (the two brothers that are the Innskeepers). Extremely easy to work with and talk to, will give you lots of ideas of what to see and do. Was very pleased with the stay and will definitely consider it if we make any return trips to the area.

I stayed here on a business trip and was very impressed. Dave, the host, was vey friendly and engaging. The food was great and the wine and cheese at 5pm was a nice touch. When I got stuck at a waterfront restaurant in the rain I was thinking of calling Dave on his cell. But before I got out my phone, who strolls into the restaurant but my excellent host! He had umbrellas and a minivan ready to get us back to the inn. That's what I call overflowing service! I plan to stay here every time I come to Yorktown.

We will be sure to recommend it to anyone who is going to the Yorktown area. The hosts were wonderful, the rooms were large and comfortable and the food was great. David & Joan R

Dave and Phil: The AC unit was the only problem in the room. The blower went directly on the bed. We had to shut it off for most of the night. Other than that Dave, our stay was nice! You were a terrific host. Thanks very much! Rad

Part of the reason one goes to a bed and breakfast instead of a hotel is to get the feeling of the place. You feel like you are part of Yorktown and Tidewater history when you stay at the Hornsby House Inn. The Inn was converted from a family home that was one of the centers of the region's social circles for decades. That being said the two owners Phil and David have updated the house with comfortable furnishing while not loosing the historic flavor. Different family and friends stop by at cocktail hour to add to the local color.

I did not think I could enjoy such a marvelous vacation so close to home (we live in the Northern Neck) but it could not have been better. David and Phil are perfect hosts, so warm and friendly and so proud of this beautiful family home. The location is perfect for walking or catching the trolley anywhere in Yorktown which has more than its share of wonderful museums to visit. If I were thinking of visiting the Historic Triangle, I would pick this spot: all the charm of Williamsburg but much more user friendlyand less congested. I could go on and on about what a great venue this is for getting together with a group of friends or any special event! Nancy and Danny Kiser

The Hornsby House is a wonderful B & B. Yorktown is very quaint and easy walking distance to all the museums and dinning. Your hosts grew up in the home and can answer any questions about Yorktown and the historical Triangle. But, best of all the hosts feel like old friends and are truely happy to have your company. Brothers David and Phil make one feel like one of their family.

We were treated to 3 gracious, hospitable evenings and 3 delicious mornings by David and Phil in the elegant surroundings of Hornsby House Inn! Escaping to its beauty and serenity each night, after the hustle, bustle, and excitement of William and Mary Graduation each day in Williamsburg, made for a truly memorable visit to Colonial Virginia. We have already recommended Yorktown and Hornsby House Inn to many friends and family.

What more could you ask for ? A Outstanding B&B right in the middle of historioc Yorktown within walking distance of excellent dining, a beach and next to the monument that cemented the creation of a new nation. You can even take golf lessons from host Philip and earn a gold dollar coin by making the bed cover look nice. Dave and Philip are excellent breakfast chefs and serve wine and cheese as you relax at 5:00pm after a busy day of touiring.Need a reservation for dinner, a visit to the winery or whatever they will do it. In other words The Hornsby House Inn IS - IS the place to stay in the Williamsburg - Yorktown area !!!!!!! Merv S.

I was so excited to win a one night stay at the Hornsby House courtesy of Beyond Boob Inc. We had an amazing time, the house was beautiful. We got a choice of which room we would like, and we went with the hornsby suit. The bed was so comfortable, and everything was just perfect from the service we received upon booking our stay to the end of the next day we were treated like royalty. The wine and cheese hour was delicious, and a great way to meet the other guests. We are definitely looking at coming up again soon since we're right down the road!

Joined four life-long friends here for a mini second 40th high school reunion, and were met with gracious, old-fashioned, genteel Southern hospitality. We could not have found a lovelier location and inn in which to stay anywhere. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the rooms warm and inviting, and the breakfast was superb. It felt like staying in a friend’s home rather than in an inn. The decor was lovely, the attention to detail wonderful, and nothing had been left to chance. Everyone said over and over how wonderful it was, and we are already talking about gathering there again! I highly recommend the Hornsby House Inn as THE place to stay anytime you want to visit Williamsburg or just get away.

When I learned that the Hornsby House Inn had been open only six months, I was amazed, as Innkeeper David makes it seem like they have been providing first class service and accommodations for decades. The house is beautifully appointed, the location could not be more central, and the food was excellent. I plan to return often, and recommend others do the same. John Warley

We came together to celebrate a “special” birthday with our mother. And thanks to David’s warmth and hospitality, felt like we became part of an even larger family--the Hornsby family. David shared his family home, stories, and gave us a look back at history to the time of Washington and Lafayette. This is a special place and we look forward to returning soon. Thank you!

The best place to stay in the area. The owners are one of a kind and will make your vacation memorable. Everything was great from the rooms, the service, and food. I will defiantly come back to this b&b.

We recently hosted 12 guests from Asheville, NC, in Yorktown for my husband's 60th birthday. We decided to reserve all of the rooms at the beautiful Hornsby House Inn so that our guests would have the "run of the house". Where to begin with what a perfect experience we all had? The reservation process was simple and the inn hosts helped in all our planning for the two-night stay. About the stay -- rooms are beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated. Breakfast is an unbelievable experience and a wonderful journey back into a time of elegance -- sitting together in a formal dining room with china and crystal and a full, fabulous breakfast. They had the fireplace lit each night in time for our wine and cheese, and joined us for conversation and a sharing of history of the home and the area. One guest had a massage at the inn which she described as "magic". We made a special request that we have dinner in the dining room one night, which turned out to be one of our best memories of the weekend. I hope this will be something they decide to do on occasion as they did such a marvelous job. Our guests were so impressed that they are already planning a trip back and have been very specific about staying again in the Hornsby House. It has become "their place" in the historic area. This is an experience not to be missed. The hosts and staff of this inn understand the words hospitality and charm and apply it to every aspect of their business.

Our recent visit to the Hornsby House Inn Bed and Breakfast was a thoroughly delightful experience. From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed, we were treated to the finest Southern hospitality. Dave and Phil were gracious hosts who willingly accommodated our dietary preferences. We enjoyed extensive and stimulating conversations with them and fellow guests. We found the Hornsby and Bowditch family histories, captured in photos and written material, particularly interesting and informative. Anyone visiting the B&B should be certain to ask to see the hand scribed cookbook written by Mrs. Hornsby, Dave and Phil's Mother. Although currently out of print, they are working at having it reprinted and available for purchase. It's a treasure of Southern cooking. We look forward to future visits to this delightful B&B in historic Yorktown. Rod & Karen Lorence Hampton, VA

My wife and I really enjoyed our time at the Hornsby House. Beautiful home, luxurious rooms and classic style. The Monument Suite was so comfortable including a fireplace and classic bathroom. What separates the Hornsby from other bed and breakfasts is the authentic charm, original furnishings and none of the "updated amenities" that destroy the look and feel of the place. Breakfast was beautifully prepared by Tathia and Dave, one of the innkeepers, joined us for breakfast. In every way, the Hornsby House Inn is the perfect place to stay in the Williamsburg and Yorktown area. The Christmas decorations were so tastefully done and really added to our stay. We'll be back soon and are sure to recommend to others. Happy New Year. Jim and Debby Naylor

This is a perfect location without the hustle and bustle of Williamsburg. In a very relaxed and comfortable home, the owner brothers Philip and David were extremely hospitable and friendly, as well as informative of their town, family home and history. Afternoon "Happy Hour" and breakfast were fun and delicious. Tanya cooks a bountiful meal made of organic and healthy foods. The rooms are large with comfortable beds. We didn't want to leave! We highly recommend the Hornsby House Inn.

Hornsby House has just opened as a B & B and they are off to a very good start! We stayed there for 3 nights as we explored Yorktown, Williamsburg, and Newport News. It has a great location for visiting many places, plus it is located right in the middle of Yorktown -- such a quiet, beautiful and peaceful place. The accommodations were wonderful as was the food and hospitality. David was the perfect host and very gracious as we learned of his family history in this beautiful home and Tanja's eggs Benedict were superb! This is the perfect vacation spot and would also make a beautiful wedding spot as well. We highly recommend this inn.
