Wonderful stay overall. Clean, quiet, wonderful hostess. We got in late and everyone was very accommodating and flexible. We stayed in the Rhododendron, which was lovely and very spacious. Very close to the downtown shopping and restaurants, so it was very convenient. Food was consistently good and there were drinks and snacks stocked at all times too. Would definitely stay again.

The room and premises were lovely and quiet, but breakfast was a disappointment. There was no milk available when I came down for early coffee. Our breakfast plates were delayed and the egg dishes had not finished cooking. I expected better.

My wife and I wanted to take a quiet weekend in celebration of her pending 30th birthday and Colonial Gardens came highly recommended. Joy was an absolute pleasure to be around and went above and beyond what is expected to make sure we had everything we needed. The house is incredibly well done and very well maintained. The atmosphere is happy and relaxed and you can tell a lot of thought has been put into everything. Joy is an amazing chef and each breakfast item was expertly and lovingly crafted. Easily some of the best breakfast items we've ever tasted. The food is plated incredibly well and the surrounding and ambiance is top notch ( huge kudos for the big band and Sinatra music backdrop! ). This was our first B&B experience and my wife and I were a little skeptical at first. Colonial Gardens has easily won us over to the B&B side and we are all ready planning our next visit!

My wife & I stayed here for our 15th Wedding Anniversary & im I'm so glad we did! We got So much more for our money than any Hotel at this price! The House is beautifully decorated & has a classic Colonial feel. The innkeeper Joy was a pleasure and made our experience great! We would definitely stay there again!

My wife and I stayed at the Colonial Gardens for our one year anniversary. We were completely satisfied with our stay. Joy, the innkeeper, was great. She went above and beyond to make our weekend special. Breakfast was both delicious and meticulously presented. The location is convenient to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, the Williamsburg Winery, as well as great places to go have lunch or dinner. We highly recommend Colonial Gardens for your weekend getaway!

Joy was incredible! The breakfast was wry delicious. The place is very welcoming, calm, and peaceful. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and we enjoyed every moment there. There was a power outage; however, Joy made it soo delightful by lightening the sexy candles, making sure the guest were ok. Joy was awesome and she should not have been left there to fend for everyone when there was a generator there. Joy was incredible and we will be back! I recommend this stay to everyone. Joy knew the town and gave great recommendations. She found a store for us in our city to purchase an item that was in Williamsburg. Simply great customer service. See you next time Joy!!

My wife and I were looking for a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary and we booked the Colonial Gardens because of price and proximity to Williamsburg. We really enjoyed out stay and Joy (who was our innkeeper) was great/. She was always there when we had questions and she got us comfortable with the Williamsburg area. The breakfast she had every morning was delicious (especially the croissants) and our room was really nice and spacious. I even wanted to make our anniversary more special and Karen the owner had made some recommendations and my wife was surprised with beautiful flowers, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. It was a great weekend and I recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone who is looking for good value and looking to make great memories!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. Joy was so helpful and pleasant to talk to. She made a wonderful breakfast. The home is quite beautiful. Our room was spacious and very clean. We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

What a beautiful Bed and Breakfast. It took me a while to plan our 1st anniverary trip. Once we narrowed it down as to where we wanted to visit, I knew I wanted to stay in a B&B. After viewing Colonial Gardens website and reading the reviews I booked the room. We were greeted promptly by the very sweet Jennifer. Our room was very clean and beautifully appointed. I have never stayed in such a quiet inn. Wonderful for sleeping plus the bed was very comfortable lots of warm blankets. The beautiful breakfast that was prepared for us was very yummy. I am a big breakfast person and found the portions a bit small. I generally eat a bigger breakfast and eat a smaller lunch. We did the opposite on this trip. That is just a personal quirk. Coffee was plentiful and the wine cooler had wine availble for purchase at a reasonable price. The room had plenty of storage and they provided robes and slippers for our use. We did not use the robes but they looked very comfy and cozy. Jennifer was very helpful in finding our way around Williamsburg and had lots of helpful tips. She recommended a wonderful place for dinner on Friday that turned out to be the best meal we had out. I would give this trip a 10 out of 10.

My wife and I were looking for a place close to us that we could spend a nice week for our honeymoon. I am a history buff and she is more of a shopper, so the williamsburg area was a perfect fit. I have been to williamsburg many times in my life but have never stayed at a b&b. This was a first for both of us. We started looking online for B&B ' S in the area and found there are quite a few, and as we all know the Internet is not the most reliable of sources, we were a bit skeptical. But upon arrival we were blown away. Clean and beautiful inside. Wonderful breakfasts and kind friendly staff. The only complaint I would have is the outdoor areas are not in good repair. I can understand a rough winter but the views would be great if you could sit outside. Overall 5 star all the way.

We loved Jennifer! She hung out with us at breakfast and told us helpful tourist info. She served a great breakfast. Our room was spotless. It didn't feel like you were staying in someone else's house. We had privacy. They provided wine at market price, which we took advantage of. I loved this place and I may come back. You won't be disappointed!

This B and B is excellent. Exceptionally clean, delicious food, perfect location and a friendly hostess. We highly recommend it and plan to return for many years to come.

My husband and I stayed for 3 days here and enjoyed our stay very much. Jennifer (The inn keeper) and the owners have truly thought of everything to get you settled in from the moment you arrive until you leave. The only reason I gave the dining a lower rating is because I thought we would get to pick our breakfast choices. Everything tasted very good but there were set daily menus. The B&B is small enough to customize breakfast or at least let you know what's for breakfast the night before. This way you can decline breakfast, if you want something else. The B&B is in a great location! Mins from Williamsburg attractions and lots of restaurants to choose from. Please check out the Second St Grill if you go! Great food and service! I would highly recommend this B&B!

I would like to pass on that Jennifer was OUTSTANDING. She worked with me in spite of an issue that arose in my schedule and made accommodations above and beyond to ensure I had a great time. I haven't slept so well in years! I definitely intend on staying here in the future and recommending the Colonial Gardens B&B to others. Thank you. Marvin Frazier

Property was very nice and historic; hostess was very welcoming and friendly; felt like we were staying with family. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway. Wife was impressed they had "make up" towels in the bathroom, we've been to four and five star hotels and they even miss this detail.

We celebrated our Anniversary and loved it. The facilities were beautiful and Jennifer ensured all the details were taken care of. We loved our time in Colonial Williamsburg and this added a level of romance no hotel could have met. Breakfast was outstanding but the arrangements they made for our Anniversary were a step above. The bed was so comfortable, we slept soundly each night. Highly recommend such a great and wonderful place.

A lovely and quite place to stay-- where you have privacy, quiet beautiful surroundings with a fantastic breakfast served.

Innkeeper was nice and accommodating. Not quite the luxury you would expect for the price. Very small bathroom that looked like it was the original and had never been updated. Was very clean and well kept but just a little deceiving website.

The room was very nice and looked like the picture on the website. The innkeeper was very friendly and was very flexible if you needed something different than the norm. She was a pleasure to meet and talk to. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the service was spectacular. We would definitely stay again if we visit the area.

My Husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon!! It was the best stay ever! Mrs. Karen can cook an amazing breakfast! I am not usually an early riser but I got up every morning just to have breakfast with her! She learns about her guest. During breakfast she discovered I wasn't a big egg eater, therefor she lowered the amount of eggs on my plate! Colonial Gardens made our honeymoon perfect! I will defiantly be staying again!!

We really enjoyed the atmosphere of this B&B, especially at Christmas. Hot drinks and snacks were waiting for us when we arrived. The breakfast was delicious. The room was very comfortable (the bed and atmosphere), though we would probably upgrade to a larger room next time. We were in the Library. A little disappointed by the bathroom (small pink tub and pink toilet/sink). But not a huge deal to us. I'm sure the gardens would be beautiful in the Spring.

I fancy myself a decerning traveler, more interested in the details then the look of an establishment. We could not have been happier while we stayed with Karen and Ron at Colonial Gardens. To start with the rooms were beautiful and well appointed. Sheets were high end and felt very soft. The breakfasts each morning were different and delicious. The atmosphere of Colonial Gardens was causal while retaining its elegant backdrop. if you can not tell by now, we were impressed to say the least. We will be back again.

We spent the weekend with some friends at Colonial Gardens and we had a wonderful time. The rooms were spacious and beautiful and the hostess was amazing. The food was fabulous, we especially liked that Karen made us by request, Eggs Benedict and it was perfect. Karen went out of her way to help us make reservations for dinner and at a local spa. We are already planning next years visit here.

This was my first time at a bed and breakfast, but I can't imagine how it could have been better! We had our elopement ceremony here, with our parents and baby girl. The house is cozy and beautiful, and Karen was just wonderful from the first phone call; She took care of every last detail of the wedding, and seemed to anticipate everything we would possibly need. All that we had to do was show up and enjoy. Also, that was the best breakfast that I've ever had. We're looking forward to coming back for an anniversary. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

I don't even know where to begin...it took us a long time to find an inn that we were happy with staying at. Karen did an outstanding job on our wedding ceremony. Every morning of our stay we woke up to a fantastic breakfast. I didn't know what to expect for little money, but I was determined to stay no matter what and I am so glad I did! We now have wedding memories we can look back on and be satisfied with, just as if we had our families with us. I cannot wait for the next opportunity for us to go back, I'm counting the days... Thank you for everything Karen, you made our stay there very special.

My husband and I recently spent three nights at Colonial Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia. What a GREAT experience!! Karen is such a joy to chat with and truly enjoys making her guests feel special. The B&B is beautiful, comfortable, located terrifically to all the local sites, and even smells relaxing! Karen made special vegan breakfasts for us (my husband just can't stop talking about the wonderful Banana Nut Pancakes) that were even better than we've found in some restaurants that cater to us. What a natural! Even with all off the inn options in Williamsburg there is no need for us to ever look farther! We cannot wait to visit again!!

Our wedding at Colonial was simply put "Fantastic". I couldn't have asked for for more. Beautiful grounds and the innkeepers are wonderful people. Tim and I will always remember our wedding as the most relaxing and fun time of our lives! Thank you Karen for everything you did to make our day special! Candice and Tim Oleary

This was our first time ever in a B n B. It was a great experience and perfect location. Literally right down the block from Colonial Williamsburg, College of William and Mary and about ten minutes to Busch Gardens. Colonial set the bar high for great places to stay. I have stayed in hotels for about the same price or more and they were nothing like the Colonial. A good B n B also has to have great InnKeepers and the Colonial does. Karen and Ron were very friendly and a very lovely couple. I miss the yummy breakfast that Karen whips up :).

Colonial Gardens was nice for a change. My husband and I went for a romantic getaway from the kids. Breakfast was wonderful, and Karen (the innkeeper) was very nice! It did feel, however, that we were intruding on someone in their home. It was difficult at times to get a hold of the innkeepers, since you seemed to have to shout through a door marked "private". Also, we were told to keep the noise down, even though all we were doing was watching a movie in bed. The rooms were lovely, but upon our check in, I noticed lipstick on one of the water glasses that were set out for our use. This is my second stay at a B&B, and I would have to say it was average.

For a weekend getaway, the Colonial Gardens Bed and Breakfast was the perfect place for us to explore Williamsburg from! The location was perfect for going to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Jamestown, and the Outlets. The food was heavenly -- I'm still craving the breakfast Karen prepared for us! Karen and Ron were gracious hosts and provided us with all kinds of information to have the best experience we could have had in Williamsburg. I definitely recommend this for your Williamsburg vacation!

What a wonderful Valentines treat! The Colonial Gardens Bed & Breakfast was a beautiful place to spend our first Valentines Day together. The service was top notch, the breakfast was superb, and the Rhododendron Suite was a perfect Valentines hideaway. My wife and I wholeheartedly recommend a visit! Thank you Karen and Ron for your hospitality.

Welcoming and warm, the innkeepers Karen and Ron were gracious hosts. Karen provided us with wonderful gourmet breakfasts that we are missing as we write this. The inn had beautiful orignial watercolors and paintings that complimented the relaxing surroundings. Karen provided us with morning weather reports and suggestions for the day. She was very hospitable and knowelegable of the area. We stayed in the Primrose room and it was cozy, comfortable and quiet. The inn was so close to everything in Williamsburg and Jamestown making things very easy to get around. This is the place to stay in the area.

This Bed and Breakfast is marvelous. The pictures do not do it justice. Beautiful attention to detail and immaculate. Our room was gorgeous and the inn keepers were charming and helpful. The food was outstanding! We can not say enough about this inn, we will stay there every time we are in Williamsburg, Va.
