About

Greenfield Inn B&B “Classic Southern Hospitality at its Very Best". Greenfield Inn B&B is a Grand Estate, and one of the oldest structures in Rappahannock County, built between 1767 and 1769, it is almost centrally located on 83 acres of gentle rolling hills; its large pillared entrance, known as the Southern Georgian Style, a central hall and parlor house, it has two stories with a centered five bay entry with windows that align both vertically and horizontally, six working fireplaces that add to it’s southern charm. Over the years Greenfield was not only a private family dwelling to well established families who were related to past Presidents such as George Washington, James Madison and Zachary Taylor but also it was useful as a school and was also said to have been a headquarters to both the North and the South during the Civil War. Greenfield, is known in Rappahannock County for the parties and dances,( especially the Virginia Reel) that graced her grand rooms and will again have the opportunity to entertain guests. Renovations to the estate that took a little over three years to accomplish once again reintroduced new life and grandeur into her rooms. Made of brick that was manufactured by the slaves on the property, the walls are 12” thick

Fantastic historic B&B near Shenandoah

4.6 on October 17, 2016

My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend at the Greenfield Inn. We were looking for a quiet weekend away to enjoy the scenery and small towns near Shenandoah National Park. This was a perfect home base for exploring the area. After several years of meticulous restoration, Greenfield Inn is beautiful - it pays tribute to the historical nature of the home without sacrificing any of the modern conveniences. Audrey exuded southern hospitality and they have clearly thought of every little detail. Our room was wonderful and we took advantage of the common living room to enjoy a cup of tea and afternoon snack while watching TV - all the creature comforts of home. The Inn has been meticulously restored and is absolutely gorgeous. We highly recommend it and look forward to returning in the future.

Our house is very large and old and we enjoy having guests. We would like to share our home with others so they can appreciate the architecture of long ago. How many people get a chance to stay in a house that is over 250 years old?
