About

Tucked into the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on 50 acres in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley lies Steeles Tavern Manor B&B and Alpine Hideaway Cottages. Our 1916-built 5 bedroom Virginia manor house is located in a peaceful country setting, midway between Staunton and Lexington, with a spring-fed pond, walking grounds and babbling creek. The Inn's updated decor offers a warm, relaxing environment and has a wine theme highlighted with each guest room named for a wine varietal native to Virginia. Two cottages are tucked in the woods on the Blue Ridge Mountains and one cottage is located on our catch and release fishing pond. All have all the luxuries needed for a romantic vacation with the quiet and solitude offered in an individual cabin. Each of our cottages has a king-sized bed, a private outdoor hot tub, indoor double Jacuzzi tub and shower with rain shower head, living room with gas fireplace, full kitchens, gas grills, decks, and luxurious robes.

Great get-away B&B

4.4 on July 30, 2018

A wonderful, relaxing get-away in the beautiful Shenandoah! This inn is exceptional in service and many area attractions to enjoy. We stayed in the Inn and hope to return for perhaps a stay in one of the cottages. Highly recommend this B&B. John and Nancy Ross

Anniversary trip

5 on July 15, 2018

We totally enjoyed our overnight stay at the Ivy Cottage! We were so fortunate that the owners worked with us to book a 1-night stay, and they provided everything we needed for a perfect stay! From great communication, spot-on directions, and a beautiful cabin stocked with everything possible we would need, Melissa and Ray were very professional and welcoming from beginning to end. The cabin was much larger than we anticipated, layed out perfectly, and the mountain views and sunset were amazing! We added on the steak dinner, and it was easy to prepare, and the local steaks were delicious. An added bonus was the hot-tub on the back deck which provided total privacy and overlooked the beautiful woods. We hope to visit again - maybe for a longer stay next time. Thanks Melissa and Ray for a perfect anniversary get-away!

Innkeeper Response

Nice cabin, but a bit dark

3.0 on June 26, 2018

Nice cabin. We enjoyed our stay. The place could be a bit better lit.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your suggestion about lighting. We will review each of our 3 cabins to see which feels a bit dark. The interior walls are wood so it may create a darker sense inside than with white walls. Also just to mention the "onsite dining" rating, our cabins provide kitchens with full size ovens, microwaves, and refrigerators to allow guests to make their own meals. And we do offer several breakfast and dinner options to provide to the cabin guest. Thank you for your feedback.

Mid week escape

5 on June 21, 2018

My wife and I had a one night stay at STM and absolutley loved it. The room was spacious and immaculate, as was our private bathroom. We enjoyed getting to know Melissa and Ray at the 5:30 social hour over a glass of local wine. The area is beautiful as is the manor house. Great time...we'll be back!

Innkeeper Response
We had a great time chatting with you two also. We look forward to seeing you again!
