Nestled in the Shenandoah Valley the Inn at Old Virginia represents the perfect balance of historic grace and modern day amenities. The peacefulness and charm of our 10 rooms and suites are surrounded by picturesque rolling hillsides. Each morning the complimentary gourmet breakfast is served in our English style glass conservatory. This Civil War era property offers a peaceful getaway located just minutes from Staunton & Harrisonburg Virginia and interstate 81. The two buildings comprising the Inn are both luxuriously appointed with imported antique furniture, oriental rugs, area and period inspired artwork, soothing color palettes and modern accessories. In the Main House, you will find the Conservatory, a cozy living room showcasing a small library of books and movies, as well as a brick fireplace. Guests can enjoy the skyline of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the Inn’s landscaped outdoor patios. Architecturally designed to preserve the original structural integrity, the newly renovated Barn, contains eight of the Inn’s rooms as well as a beautiful common area with vaulted ceiling, stone fireplace and outdoor decks, where guests can enjoy views of the Valley.

Fabulous Inn!

5 on April 27, 2018

I stayed here with a friend while traveling through the State for garden week. We spent our first night here, and we couldn't have been happier with our room, the Inn or the service - it was truly a delight. I will definitely stay again when in Staunton. BTW, their cookies are delish!

Innkeeper Response
We are so delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. Garden Week here in Virginia can be a very special and beautiful time. Interesting that you commented on our cookies. A little secret about those. We have to bake extra because, of course, staff has to taste test to be sure they are good enough for our guests. Thank you and please do come again.

Historic Garden Tour for Staunton, VA

4.8 on April 25, 2018

Great location and beautiful surroundings. The ladies at the Inn at Old Virginia are most welcoming and you immediately feel you have been friends forever! All the room are furnished with comfort mattresses with side to side individual firmness controls, lush fabrics, elegant sheets and more. Our room was a little small for 2 people but we just took advantage of the lovely living room and made ourselves at home! Thank you for a lovely weekend.

Innkeeper Response
Everyone has heard about the importance of "location, location, location". We truly lucked out when this property became available. Most folks think we are way out in the country, but in reality while surrounded by pastures, we are at the most 5 minutes from downtown Staunton. So... we were thrilled to offer you these surroundings so you could relax and enjoy your stay. We also enjoy sharing our enthusiasm about the area with our guests. And though the Va Garden Tour is only once a year, we are so pleased when our guests can take advantage of relaxing with us and taking the Tour. Please, come again. (maybe next year for the Tour?) We appreciate your kind worlds. Thank you very much..

Great Stay!

5 on April 25, 2018

Spent a night here this past weekend while attending Virginia Garden Week - we loved our room, the cookies were great, and the ladies were incredibly hospitable. We will definitely stay again when returning to the area.

Innkeeper Response
Yes, it's true. Our cookies are great! But I have to tell a secret about them. Ready? We always have to bake extra because the staff enjoys them as much as you do. Only problem is we have them in front of us every day. Well ... maybe not a problem if we don't think about it too long. Every year the Garden Club here in our area has something so unique to offer. We are so glad you had the opportunity to see this one. You got a great feel for our countryside and history. We are most happy, though, that we got to "host" you as well. Please do come again. You have only scratched the surface of all there is to do and see here in Staunton.

Beef cattle and breweries

4.4 on April 22, 2018

Exploring Staunton and Charlottesville was relaxing with the Inn at Old VA as a home base. From the Farmers' market to the TomTom Festival the days were filled with excitement and the thrill of exploration. Did I mention the beer gardens and breweries and the Shakespeare Theater and the Glass Blowing Studio and the breweries? Start with an excellent, tasty breakfast that always began with yogurt, homemade granola and fruit and continued with waffles, melt-in-your mouth bacon and superb coffee or maybe a veggy filled quiche or eggs benedict - yum, yum. You knew with that kind of beginning the day ahead was going to be exceptional. The beautiful mountain scenery (including beef cattle dotting the hills every morning in their same assigned spots) and the wonderful hospitality made for a memorable stay.

Innkeeper Response
Sometimes, I wonder if our guests know how much we enjoy having them stay with us. What a delight to hear about their lives, share their memories or how they met. Sometimes, even politics. Wow, right? But you have so enriched out lives as well. Staunton is such an exceptional town. So much to see and do. Or... just relax and soak it in. Thank you again for coming and staying with us. Completely our pleasure.

Great Weekend Getaway

4.6 on February 17, 2018

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend getaway here! Our room was clean, spacious, and equipped with every detail imaginable. The staff was friendly and welcomed us with smiles and open arms. We enjoyed two breakfast meals during our stay - both were fresh, appropriate portions, and delicious! We hope to make our trip to the Inn at Old Virginia an annual event!

Innkeeper Response
Having fallen and broken several bones, I really miss getting to visit with our guests. My staff gets all the pleasure. :( BUT, I know they are delighted that you enjoyed the Inn, food and staff so much. (I am too.) Thanks for letting us know your thoughts and we hope to see you soon. Oh, and coming more than once a year is fine with us. There's is much to do or just relax. Thanks again.

Wonderfully Peaceful

5 on January 27, 2018

We stopped here in early January, and although we stayed only one night, we definitely plan to return in the spring or summer. We stayed in one of the "barn" rooms, and it was very comfortable, very clean ... the common area in the barn is bright and airy, and perfect for a quiet evening of reading by the fire. We peeked into the larger rooms on the upper and lower levels, and will most likely select one of them in the future as they are a little more spacious with king beds. Breakfast in the atrium was beautiful ... personally served and everything was simply delicious!! Although the rooms in the house itself might be more convenient for late night snacks or tea/coffee, those treats are available for just a quick walk ... the fresh made chocolate chip cookies after dinner in town was a perfect end to a long day on the road!

Innkeeper Response
We are delighted that you stopped in for a one night stay during the winter. You got the "cozy" feel. Wait until Spring or Summer !! The panorama widens, not only at the Inn, but in town with many, many festivals, various theater opportunities, hostory and great food. It would be our pleasure to "share our special Staunton with you" Thank you so much for your kind words. They are appreciated. You are appreciated as well !

Gracious welcome, pastoral setting, delightfully relaxing!

4.4 on January 20, 2018

Innkeeper and owner made us feel immediately welcome. Central lounge area of bedrooms in the pre-civil war Barn remake was relaxing with on demand gas fireplace and balcony views of the cattle next door. Pleasant breakfast and easy conversation in the UK-like conservatory; movies (dvds) from an extensive library as desired. In a pastoral setting, yet less than 3 miles from Staunton, a gem of a town to explore for history and cuisine alike. Will return to this welcoming B and B!

Innkeeper Response
Wow! I think we'll redo our website. And you can write the content. :) Thank you so much for your very positive review. We sincerely appreciate it. I can't imagine you have seen/done everything in Staunton, so please do return. We'd love to have you!

Wonderful weekend stay

4.6 on January 06, 2018

My partner and I recently spent a holiday weekend at the Inn at Old Virginia, and it was simply delightful! The owner and staff were helpful and kind, upgrading our room and providing delicious breakfast in line with our dietary preferences. The property is completely charming, and nearby Staunton is a fantastic place to visit for the weekend. We wholeheartedly recommend!

Innkeeper Response
And we wholeheartedly thank you for staying with us ! Totally our pleasure. I see that you rarely stay at Bed and Breakfasts. We are delighted to be one of many (we hope - and of course, we hope for a return stay with us.) Much more to do and see when the weather is nice. So come again.

The Best Place to Stay in Staunton!

5 on January 04, 2018

My wife and I have stayed at the Inn at Old Virginia three times and look forward to our next visit. From the moment you walk in the door you're welcomed by the staff and made to feel at home. The rooms are quiet and the owner has given each one her own personal touch. Breakfast is wonderful and is served in a beautiful glass enclosure that overlooks the rolling hills of Staunton. It's conveniently located allowing easy access to downtown Staunton and surrounding wineries, breweries, and other attractions. Next time you find yourself in Staunton, check out the Inn at Old'll be glad you did!

Inn at Old Virginia Granola
We begin each breakfast with a bowl of fresh fruit and another small ramekin of vanilla yogurt topped with our "home made" granola. It has become so popular, we constantly sell out in the Inn's Gift Shop. We've also received requests from throughout the US.
