We were awe-struck just driving up and seeing an "Image of the Past" This Bed and Breakfast is a journey into the 19th Century. The style of the mansion--Victorian is every respect--makes you wish you had arrived in a "horse and buggie" and stepped down on to a side walk leading to"doors opening into living in the past" The furnishings fill your dreams and recollections of pictures and old movies that you have seen of the past--early 1800's and forward. Every room makes you feel at home in it's unique venue. Best of all is the sitting room next to the dining room where you can listen to old music, sit on old furniture and eye the dining room and enjoy the aromas of great cooking. Give yourselves a dream come true come visit and reminisce like we did--we'll be back again and again

My husband and I stayed in the Chablis suite for two nights after our June 2 wedding. We loved the outdoor pool and would have taken advantage of the hammock and the fire pits if we had been there longer. Laura is friendly, and her breakfasts were delicious. The highlight of the stay for us was definitely the suite itself—it was huge, beautifully decorated, and (best of all) furnished with a hot tub. (FYI, Laura makes lovely bath bombs, so she can hook you up.) The location was just what we wanted: an easy drive to Chincoteague but far enough off the island to be peaceful and private. Highly recommended!

Booked a long weekend at the Garden and Sea Inn for our anniversary. The place was absolutely amazing! Our room was clean, beautifully decorated and very romantic. Breakfast was delicious, especially the fresh baked breads. Loved the gardens and pool. Just a short drive from all the excitement of Chincoteague island, but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. And, close to lots of antique stores. Can't wait to go back!!

We stayed three days at Garden and Sea in November 2017 and were very impressed with the service, the quality of rooms and suites, and the convenient location close to Chincoteague and Assateague Islands. But beyond that, the breakfasts were spectacular: fresh, delicious and different everyday. Also, the Victorian house is gorgeous with a large dining room on the first floor. If you want quiet elegance in a rural retreat--but close to world class attractions--Garden and Sea Inn is for you.

My recent stay (December 2016) at "Garden and The Sea" Bed and Breakfast Inn was all I'd hoped for. The B&B is close to many local activities and eateries. Important for me is the coziness and warmth of the B&B. My room, and I think all rooms, had a fireplace as one of the sources of heat. Another source of warmth came from the B&B folks which helped make the B&B cozy, they were so pleasant and fun to talk with. And of course, the first "B" stands for breakfast. The breakfasts were fantastic tasting and filling. Bottom line, I plan to stay at Garden and The Sea again in about a year.

Oversized clean rooms, use of kitchen and dining room included, free snacks, bottled water and homemade iced tea in the fridge at all times. For a few dollars less, I could have stayed in one of a few seedy locations in the area, but I opted for The Garden and Sea Inn and was not disappointed.... Dom P from NJ. .

f you visit the area, Garden and Sea Inn should be at the very top of your list. Not only it's a beautiful and restful place, the staff is some of the most friendly and hospitable people we've ever met, and bend backwards to make your stay the best it can be. First - the place. We usually stay at hotel chains, but there are not many there, and we decided to give Garden and Sea Inn a try. VERY GLAD we did. The B&B is a well kept Victorian historic house, decorated with a lot of antique furniture, complimented by eclectic modern pieces. That's not an easy combination to do well, but clearly the owner and her team have a great eye. We stayed at the Chantilly room, that had a rattan bed, an oak wardrobe, two Victorian armrest chairs, and nightstands made out of primitive statues. Sounds quirky, but believe me it all made for a great atmosphere. Second: Amenities. Our room had wi-fi, TV, refrigerator, coffee machine, and, (drums!) Jacuzzi. For what we paid, that is a steal. A similarly equipped room in a chain would easily go for for $300-$500 a night. Third: The staff. As I mentioned above, the people we met were some of the friendliest, and most professional hospitality people we've every met. The owner was not in, but Robin and her husband were, and we couldn't ask for more. So, bottom line: Beautiful place, great staff, great quality in everything, from decoration to breakfast, for a very, very good price. If we are ever around the area again, Garden and Sea Inn will be the place for us.

A very large and private on the first floor of our new house. It features a private entrance, a full size living room with a futon sofa that unfolds to a full bed, a bedroom with a cozy fireplace next to the king size iron wrap bed and a bright bathroom with a jacuzzi and a separate shower. The suite also has hardwood flooring and a flatscreen TV with DVD/VCR player. And there is even a small private fenced yard for your dogs! The perfect honeymoon or anniversary retreat!
On the upper level of the Garden House. This very large and private romantic room highlighted by a king-size brass bed, fireplace, sitting area and double whirlpool bath, coffee maker, large flatscreen TV, DVD player and refrigerator. Great for anniversaries or special birthdays.
A cozy romantic room off a semi-private screened porch on the ground level of the Garden House. A queen bed, whirlpool tub with shower, fireplace and large flatscreen TV/DVD make this a most comfortable room. Refrigerator, coffee maker. Great to use with Lighthouse for two couples traveling together or for a family. Cork flooring!
A very private room on the second floor of the 1802 part of the Victorian House features a king size bed, private bath with double Jacuzzi and separate shower, a small sitting area with twin size sleeper/sofa, fireplace, refrigerator, coffee maker, and flatscreen TV/DVD.
The perfect romantic get-away upstairs in our Yellow House. This very special room has a private entrance, king bed, private bath with extra large whirlpool tub, separate shower, fireplace, private screened in porch and private open deck, sitting area with twin-size sleeper sofa, TV/DVD, refrigerator, robes and coffee maker. Hardwood floors and Duvet bedding.
This upstairs room in the Victorian House has a queen size bed. The large bath, with a double Jacuzzi tub/shower, is sky-lighted. Fireplace, TV/DVD, refrigerator and coffee maker. Enjoy the morning sun in this bright, cheery room. The bathtub is pretty large and deep, so you need a large step to get in. As beautiful as it is, it is not perfect for those with hip problems.
A cozy studio room with Queen bed and sloped ceilings on the forth floor of the Victorian House. This quaint room will remind you of days playing in Grandma's Attic. With cozy low ceilings and small doors, this room is not the perfect fit for the tall ones! This studio is better suited for 1 person as everything is contained in one room.
