Enjoy a cocktail in our beautiful patio gardens or by the in ground pool. The Greek Revival mansion was built in 1850 by John B. Gibson and named Maple Hill Plantation. The VMI Corps of Cadets marched through the plantation en route to the epic Civil War Battle of New Market in May 1864. The mansion has a total of twelve guest rooms divided among three floors. It also has amenities such as two dining rooms, two half-baths, and a garden room. Our 1990 Pond House is a period recreation which complements the brick and detail of the 1824 Guest House. Take in the stunning view of the pond and surrounding countryside from any of the balconies, as one is located on each level of the Pond House. The Pond House has two guest rooms, four guest suites, and a common living room which is located on the second floor. The Guest House, built in 1824, is the oldest residence on the property. Treat your special someone to an extended stay on the ground level of the Guest House, complete with amenities such as a queen size bedroom, full bath, kitchen, living room, laundry and porch. Involve friends or family in a once-in-a-lifetime outing by taking advantage of the two extra guest rooms located on the second floor.
The Guest House has 3 bedrooms that share a full kitchen and living room area. The kitchen holds a stove/oven, fridge, coffee machine, and cooking amenities. The Guest house has the only king-sized bed on the property.
The Pond house was replicated in the 1980s. It has 6 rooms that are suite style with bedrooms and sitting areas. Each room has a private bath, gas burning fireplace, and back porch that overlooks the spring-fed pond. The Pond House has a shared lounge with a mini fridge and microwave.
