Foxfield Inn is a modern bed and breakfast located in the rolling countryside of Charlottesville, VA. We are minutes away from the Blue Ridge Mountains, many great wineries, UVA and Monticello. If you are looking to getaway and relax in comfort look no further. We have 5 uniquely appointed guestrooms for you to enjoy - 4 with fireplaces and Jacuzzi tubs. All are located on the first floor (there is only one floor - no stairs to climb with luggage!). Enjoy breakfast in the Sunroom. We serve a three course breakfast ending with a small dessert (who doesn't like a Sweet Ending?). We source as many of our ingredients from local farms (eggs and pork come from the farm across the road - can't get much more local than that). Dan grinds coffee beans every day so you have the freshest coffee available. After spending the day visiting one of the three President's homes in the area, going to UVA, hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains or sipping wine at one the nearby wineries come back to the inn and relax in the outdoor hot tub. Then head out to dinner at one of the area's many fine restaurants. We hope to see you soon! This B&B was delightful! Our room was beautiful and large, and the bathroom was like a spa. Dan and Kathryn were delightful hosts. Breakfast was delicious. We can't say enough good things about this property or the owners. We just wish we had been able to stay more than one night!

At the front door, we found an empty pot with no flowers to greet us. We also saw the front door mat just kicked to the side of the steps, hiding in the bushes. We were disheartened to find the cleanliness of our room to be unacceptable. There was so much mold under the front rim of the toilet that we could see it from a distance looking from the bedroom. There was also mold in the shower. Overall, the building and grounds were in disrepair: big sticks and piles of leaves on the roof, with moss and mildew growing on the patio furniture, hot tub, and sitting areas. Although the food was good, the portions were tiny. Very noticeable. We left hungry. We have been to many B & B's and were astounded by how little food was served. The cheapness showed. The evening cheese and wine service also showed that all the hosts wanted to do was to put on the bare minimum.
We are sorry for your disappointment. We regret that the rain may have spoiled your stay, that is the reason the soaking wet welcome mat was drying next to the house in a neat roll. No excuses, but after a heavy rain there always is landscaping bits and pieces. Fresh cuts flowers are always in all the public and private guest rooms. Sorry you caught us with one of the three pots on the front doorway without a plant. The other two did have blooming geraniums in them. The empty pot was waiting for me to get a yellow mum which is now in the pot. In our inn keeping history and almost 1000 excellent reviews we have always scored very high on cleanliness (no complaints) and attention to detail, but we can always do better. Our housekeepers do use a bleach solution so that there is no mold growth. Also they clean the outdoor furniture at least once a week. Our guests normal reaction to the breakfasts and social hour offerings are by and large totally opposite to your reaction (see all the reviews and comments below). We don't know yet how to respond.

My husband and I stayed at the Foxfield Inn from Friday through Sunday to celebrate our anniversary. It met and exceeded our expectations! There was a personal note in our room wishing us a Happy Anniversary, which was a pleasant surprise. The location was great as it is quiet and very peaceful. The breakfast was just the right portion size, made from scratch and very tasty. Also, owners Dan and Kathryn go above and beyond to learn any dietary restrictions so breakfast can be an enjoyable experience. I had lost my wedding ring in my room and didn't realize it until on the road back home. Dan and Kathryn searched high and low, found it and shipped it overnight to my home. Our experience was an A+!

We had a great visit. The breakfasts were amazing, and we loved our room. They even have a wine and snacks time in the evening, which was a great opportunity to meet the other guests. We highly recommend Foxfield Inn!

Lovingly maintained B & B in very private garden setting. Rooms were very comfortable, quiet, and clean and breakfasts were excellent. Kathryn went out of her way to prepare a delicious gluten and dairy free breakfast for us, as well as leave some delicious gluten-free cookies in our room. Dan was friendly and helpful and served the breakfasts. The inn has a beautiful backyard and gazebo and it was a pleasure to sit out there and watch the many birds at their feeders. A nice perk was the availability of coffee, tea, cookies, clementines and microwaveable popcorn as well as a refrigerator right out side the room.
