Engen Hus Bed & Breakfast

2275 E 6200 South , Salt Lake City, UT 84121 USA (Show map)

Engen Hus Bed and Breakfast, a log cabin with character, located at the mouth of the Cottonwood Canyons in Salt Lake City. The original log cabin was built in 1949 by the three Engen bothers, Corey, Alf and Sverre. The three competed in ski jumping internationally. Alf held the world record for some years. The three brothers were influential in starting ski areas and ski schools in Utah. Engen Hus features four unique bedrooms, each with private bath, cable TV, and wifi. Other amenities include a hot tub, high-ceilinged great room with fireplace, loft reading and game room, BBQ grill, and patio with fire-pit. Quick access to downtown Salt Lake City, Park City, and world-class skiing and hiking. Breakfast is always fresh, healthful and a little decadent. Be-Utah-full!

The perfect B&B

5 on October 26, 2016

Our visit at Engen Hus this past weekend was exceptional! Doug and Karen are very genuine and kind people, not to mention excellent cooks! Our room (and the entire B&B) was extremely clean, comfortable, and serene. I highly recommend booking at stay Engen Hus on your next visit to SLC!

Innkeeper Response
Thanks, E and S, for your kind words! Needless to say, you were the perfect guests :-). Thanks for educating us about Tool, and about your home town. Go Ravens!

I wish we lived closer.

My husband and I took our youngest to college in Denver, then headed out to Oregon to visit family. We stopped for a night at Engen Hus in Salt Lake City and it was absolutely lovely in every way. Doug and Karen were wonderful hosts- friendly and gracious and welcoming. The room was charming with a little balcony overlooking the patio. Everything was clean and homey and the breakfast that we ate with our hosts was healthy and delicious. They put snacks out for us the night we arrived (including the" lemoniest" of lemon bars - yum!) and let us have our own quiet time together on the patio - relaxing with a glass of wine and then a soak in the hot tub. I wish we lived closer so we could visit on a regular basis. Thank you, Doug and Karen, for a truly wonderful time. Nancy and John
