Award winning A Storybook Inn.Great LOCATION in the heart of horse country! Spotlessly Clean. Uniquely and tastefully appointed. World Class Elegance & Service! A Storybook Inn is located on acreage in the historic district of quaint, historic Versailles, but in walking distance to shops and restaurants. (15 minutes from Lexington, close to artsy shops of Midway.) It is so refreshing to find an award winning historic Inn that is fantastically restored and unequivocally gorgeous but at the same time, not pretentious. We use as many local, organic ingredients as possible. Wonderful afternoon snacks. We have a staff that is ready, willing and able to assist you to make your stay more enjoyable. We can assist you with horse farm tours (please call ahead), dinner reservations, and en-suite massages by a professional Massage Therapist (by appointment). Our guest rooms and suite are very tastefully designed after Classic movies and scrupulously clean enough for the most persnickety germaphobe. The Inn is designed to be a delight to the senses with original oil paintings, tasteful furnishings and antiques but sensitive to travelers needs such as free wireless. You will see why our guests regularly tell us things like this recent review: After traveling extensively here in the US and abroad, staying in both small inns as well as top rated hotels, I would rate A Storybook Inn as the best small Inn or Bed and Breakfast I have encountered."

From the moment I placed a call to A Storybook Inn, I knew this was the spot for my family. Pat was extremely helpful in guiding in tours, attractions, and dining. Upon arrival, the home was tucked away from the entry. We found it to be peaceful, impeccably clean, and historic. Our room was adorned with beautiful flowers and chocolates. Daily, the room was cleaned, and an afternoon refreshment was left to be enjoyed. Elise, the owner, prepared an outstanding, daily breakfast to begin our day. The staff was eager to greet you with a warm welcome and smile as they served each morning. Returning to the inn each day was a haven after a long day of touring the Blue Grass State. If you're searching for a family get away or a peaceful weekend, the Storybook Inn will not disappoint your expectations. It is family friendly and perfect for couples. Thank you, Elise and staff for a memorable week. Hope to see you in the future. God bless you for your service. ~Gina, Ken & Leah

Amazing!!! This gorgeous bed-and-breakfast is away from the road so it’s very secluded and has its own grounds. We were greeted by such southern hospitality which continued throughout our stay. The entire house is gorgeous. The grounds are lovely. You can sit outside by the relaxing fountain in the morning even in August. Breakfast was fabulous!! Beautifully done. Delicious. Right out of the oven warm. In the afternoons, we would return to our room to find a special dessert. We felt like royalty. We will definitely be back next year!

My husband and I spent a couple of days at The Storybook Inn and left us wanting to go back. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Pat, a beautiful and charming lady. This professionally decorated mansion has all the amenities we like to have when you travel. Breakfast every morning was a gourmet experience, with so much personal attention to the menu, exquisite food and presentation. The service was magnificent and enjoyed our morning talks with Elise and her girls. We highly recommend The Storybook Inn, the BEST we have ever experienced! The Reynolds, Atlanta

One of the cruise lines used to have a commercial in which a woman was in her state room, reflectively out over the ocean. In her voice over, she wistfully explained how happy she was to be returned from exile and back in the world of luxury. After all, she was a queen...even though her day job was working the perfume counter at Belks. THAT is how we feel every time we go to Storybook Inn. The place is luxurious and splendid...and yet Elise does this fabulous job of making you feel that here is where you belong. There is so much to do in the area but we found ourselves leisurely reading and enjoying the elegant, relaxing atmosphere of the inn. Collectively, Storybook B&B is worth a special trip and we can't wait to return! (We didn't even mind that several tourist were apparently staying at the inn at the same time. As royalty, it's always good to appear benevolent.)

My wife and I staid 2 nights celebrating her 70th birthday. It could not have been any better. The breakfasts were truly outstanding. The best two meals we had during our stay in the area. The preparation was adjusted to meet my dietary needs and they even put a candle in a scone for her birthday.

I really didn't know what to expect as this room was booked for me, but I felt really at home in this relaxing place. The breakfast was stunning with lots of homemade organic goodies like scones and quiche and other farm to table treats. I dearly love cats and was pleasantly surprised to see two resident cats who have their own cottage! The room was such an elaborately country-antique (My Fair Lady) yet comfortable place to unwind. The conservatory is a beautiful place to eat and enjoy the gardens - the gardens themselves are very relaxing with a nice fountain and table to sit at. The best part was the caring staff, I really felt welcome.

This is the second year our family has stayed at the beautiful Storybook Inn. The house is exquisite and Elise and her team ensure that every detail is covered. Delicious meals, cozy accommodations and cookies or cake when we've arrived late from driving all day. They have made our experience there special and memorable. I overheard our children talking to each other when we arrive, saying "I love it here." It doesn't get better than that. Thank you! The Koonmen family

Somewhere In Time is our largest and most luxurious suite. It was the original owner's suite of this grand old house. HUGE is a word that comes to mind. Elegant is another descriptor. Fitting for the mood and feel of this elegant suite, Somewhere In Time has its own private hallway to get to the entrance of this secluded suite in the main house. During the renovation process, we often referred to it our Bridal suite or Presidential suite. And for very good reason! 19-foot long sitting room with original, restored hardwood floor, custom outfitted day bed, custom chairs, writing desk.

I love people. I love pampering people, especially ones that need a reprieve from too much work or just a time away from it all. I have a background in nursing, nutrition, Real Estate, and hospitality. I am gifted in interior design, gardening, and love great conversation. Love to travel and to read. I enjoy creating in the kitchen signature dishes with fresh ingredients. My friends have all commented that all of those traits point to the fact that Innkeeping is the perfect venue for me.
