My wife and I can't speak highly enough about our recent stay at Talus Rock Retreat. We felt right at home from the moment Ashley welcomed us upon our arrival. We loved staying in the Grand Arbor suite with plenty of room to spread out. After a day of skiing at Schweitzer Mountain the hot tub was a welcome sight- a perfect 103 degrees, outside on the patio overlooking the snow covered trees and hills....just awesome. Ashley gave us some great restaurant suggestions, and we also loved the two nights that we decided to eat in and take advantage of the comfy surroundings offered at Talus Rock Retreat (relaxing common areas, theater, etc..). All of the staff was excellent and there if you needed anything. Our thanks to Ashley, Erik and Billy for making our stay so memorable. Ashley is definitely a resident expert on all things Sandpoint (and a fellow foodie), Erik was always willing to lend a helping hand, and Billy's smile is a welcome sight and a great way to start the day. If you have time be sure to book a massage with Allison. Talus Rock Retreat is a hidden gem and we look forward to visiting again.....

My words won't really do Talus Rock justice. Incredible Weekend. My non-profit chose Talus rock for our team retreat this year and i'm so glad we did. It's beautiful, comfortable, and serene. The family and staff are kind, engaging, interesting, and positive. Every one of us enjoyed our own private posh room, each with its own atmosphere. The atmosphere is luxurious and relaxing. It was the perfect place for us to relax and get away while getting a great deal of work done. It is tucked away in secluded opening in the woods. Its close to town but feels far away. It really is like a childhood dream - the impossible mansion full of art, beauty, and positivity. Heather, et al are genuine, good, caring people. Interesting, humble and just the kind of people who I want to spend time around and do business with. we booked for next year before we left. I know I speak for all of us when I say we are excited to return.

We had the most amazing two night stay at Talus Rock Resort. The moment we arrived it felt like home and Heather and staff are caring, loving, accommodating and gracious host. We honestly felt as if we had stayed with a very close family member who just so happened to have an amazingly wonderful home in the heavenly setting. We can't wait to go back. The crazy thing is....this wonderful setting is only a 40 minute drive from our home...LOL!

This review feels to me a Catch-22. If we share with the world how much we truly, truly adored our stay at Talus Rock Retreat then the world may descend upon Sandpoint, Idaho and book the rooms that we've come to appreciate. On the other hand, it just isn't very considerate to keep a perfectly good secret treasure to ourselves either. So, we will share... TRR is absolutely incredible and has become for our family a life-long treasured memory for all time. The precious people - the helpful, doting and considerate staff - the lovely location - the warm-welcome - the ambiance - the unique architecture - the many lovely details (many I'm sure we overlooked) - the gentle, sweet doggies - the well-planned layout - the acreage - the fabulous fireplaces - the comfortable furniture - and back to the precious people. From the time we pulled up to the TRR and had to close our gaping mouths to the time we longingly looked over our shoulders as we drove away, our family knew TRR to be a special spot on the planet. We will be back and in the meantime, we will forever reserve a space in our hearts for the memories made at Talus Rock Retreat. Thank you so much Heather and Bruce for sharing your piece of heaven on earth!

We were married at the Talus Rock Retreat in February 2017. It was a beautiful venue in such a special place. We have stayed here twice now and had a wonderful time with both visits. They were very accommodating for our wedding and helped our concerns with their relaxed environment. We would recommend not only staying here but also checking out the venue for a special occasion. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfasts are outstanding. We felt like we were family and not just guests. We would like to thank all of the Talus Rock staff for such an amazing wedding!

This beautiful sanctuary was far beyond our expectations! Walking through the intricately carved front door, we felt an immediate sense of warmth from the host, the structural beauty & design of the interior, and the panoramic view from the great room. We stepped into the magnificent Grand Arbor room, where they had a bottle of wine, chocolates and flower petals to celebrate our 5th year anniversary on Valentine's Day. Breakfast was a delight, along with wonderful conversation! We would highly recommend this beautiful well kept secret, to anyone wanting an escape or a gathering of family & friends. We were blessed beyond measure!

A beautiful and hidden gem. Very serene and relaxing. A great get away. Staff was wonderful. My only complaint would be that for the price, a second meal, like a light lunch be provided. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience and would highly recommend.

Talus Rock Luxury Lodging is truly a piece of heaven on earth. My husband and I had the blessing of staying the weekend at Talus Rock to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary. We have been through a lot together and needed a place to take a breath. I have been battling breast cancer since the end of 2014 . I did chemo, radiation , and major surgeries. I'm now in remission . Praise God! We stayed in the Grand Arbor Suite . It was very romantic. The view was spectacular. The details of the room were amazing. A relaxing jetted tub, incredible tree shower, and copper ceiling. It was so peaceful. We let the fresh air in our room and savored every moment we had there. We went for a walk on the trail on the property. We enjoyed a gorgeous view of the mountains, pond, and beautiful landscaping. One of our favorite spots was sitting by the fireplace. We loved the staff there too. Warm, welcoming, and gracious host. The wonderful breakfast in the morning was a real treat. We even made a couple of new furry friends Panda and Piper . Adorable, doggies. We love the fact the owner uses dollars spent to help children in need around the world. We plan on going back for many years to come for special occasions. It's a great place to get away from all of life's busyness and stress and enjoy this beautiful home.
