Treated my wife to an anniversary weekend in Newport, so the accommodations were important. I would say I found a gem of an inn. The owner, Joanna, is a wonderful woman: gracious, kind, respectful, and warm. She went out of her way to make us feel at home, and we did. Her breakfast was home-cooked and amazing. The entire inn is spotless, and Joanna is meticulous with the decor (true to colonial times) and the pays attention to your every need. The room was beautifully appointed, bed was very comfortable, and bathroom was European in style, even with heated towel racks. We awoke to an amazing moonrise over Narragansett bay, with deep blue waters and the Pell bridge in the background. I highly recommend this inn.

We recently stayed at the Simeon Potter House to celebrate my moms birthday with our immediate and extended family (we're a large and loud group) All of the concerns we had about fitting in the house comfortably disappeared as soon as we got there. The house is big, with charming nooks and cranny's everywhere that made more than enough room for everyone to spread out and was fun for the kids. The house is beautifully done and impeccably restored allowing guests to truly appreciate the house and it's history. The location was perfect being steps from town and with beautiful views of the water. We couldn't have dreamt up a better spot to celebrate my mothers birthday and look forward to visiting the Simeon Potter House again.

I recently stayed at the Captain Simeon Potter House for a weekend getaway and it was a pleasure. The house was immaculate, the room was simple and elegant and the location was perfect, walking distance to the wharfs and many restaurants. The breakfast every morning was AMAZING!!! Joanna was the perfect host and was extremely accommodating when we had a last minute reschedule. I would recommend this B&B to everyone and look forward to visiting again.
