I had such a great time at HH Whitney. It was the perfect location and vibe for what I was looking for - really enjoyed the pool and the breakfast was perfect to fortify me and send me off into the day of exploring.

Typically skeptical of hotels and bed and breakfasts, I was entirely satisfied with the cleanliness and elegance of the H H Whitney House. Glen, the owner and innkeeper warmly welcomed us immediately upon our arrival. Entering the house was like stepping back in time; Glen has done a superb job of decorating and maintaining the aesthetics of this historic house. As a germaphobe who easily cringes at the mere sight of untidiness, I can attest to the spotlessness and charm of the entire space. Our suite, the Solarium room, surpassed our expectations. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable; likewise, the bathroom was more than I could ask for with its classic decor, clawfoot bathtub, comfortable and strong water pressure, and thoughtful amenities such as q-tips, mouthwash, disposable cups for when you brush your teeth, not to mention the cozy warm bathrobes. They even have turndown service. Fully air conditioned, the house was always a pleasant temperature despite the oppressive heat and humidity which often awaited us outside. Once we were settled in, Glen reviewed with me a map of New Orleans he personally marked up noting bus routes, suggested sites to visit and restaurants. Glen was was an amazing host (he even packed and shipped me some items I accidentally left behind). In the morning he prepared hot breakfast, which he didn't serve until we were downstairs. Myself a very picky vegetarian and my husband an non-pork eater, Glen went out of his way to meet our dietary needs. The four times we had breakfast there, always left me pleasantly satisfied. HH Whitney is located in a lovely area, a few minutes walk or drive from lovely restaurants up Esplanade Ave or the French Quarter.... HH Whitney house, a true gem! I will certainly stay here on my next NOLA visit!

The charming old place is very well kept, Glen and the staff are very welcoming. The only thing I'd change is the name of the rooms! Money well spent.

Grounds need work. Outside needs paint job. Backdoor door knob came off in my hand. Curtains in room had moisture damage and had some mold on them. The mattress needs to be updated.
