My Husband & I had a wonderful time here. We stayed in the Pool house (the most private room) several yards from the main house, close to the pool & hot tub. The room was neat & clean. The breakfast was always hot, fresh, & delicious. It was our first time to do a B&B where all the guests ate together. We were happily surprised at how much we enjoyed this. The other guests were very nice & hearing of different customs & cultures for holidays etc was a pure pleasure. While our host Steven had lived in MANY different areas and knew many of them. Just listening to these different views was a pure joy. Steven was VERY helpful with directions & suggestions of where to go eat supper & activities around Mobile. He gave us booklets when we first arrived that also described each place. Although there were activities all around us, all we had to do if we wanted peace & quiet was go into our room. It was well insulated and during the week there we only heard 1 very loud motorcycle go down the street. The location was also veryyyyyy beautiful to us surrounded by southern colonial mansions. While the pool area has many beautiful tropical plants, trees, and flowers. We truly enjoyed ourselves and had another great B&B experience. So if you are ever in the Mobile area and need a nice place to stay, We highly suggest you stay at the Berney Fly B&B. :)

My wife and I stayed at Berney Fly for our 22nd anniversary. From the time we booked the room this was a wonderful experience. We arrived early and met with Steven. As others have said, he is very personable and is a treasure trove of local information. We followed his recommendations for places to eat and found he was spot on. My wife has numerous food allergies, and Steven bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. As a result breakfast was wonderful and very tasty. We stayed in the poolside room and there is nothing quite as nice as being literally a dozen steps form that beautiful pool. The shower has just been remodeled and is roomy and comfortable. The bed was comfortable but not my own, but we all know how that is. All in all it was a great experience. But I would like to address one final thing. I read reviews for products or services I am considering using. And what a reviewer says impacts me significantly. When reading reviews here and on other sites I found many positive reviews and a few really negative ones. The negative ones really stuck out because they were so different from the many positive ones that I had to wonder if they had actually stayed at the Berney Fly at all. Having stayed at Berney Fly myself, I have concluded that those who have posted the nastiest negative reviews must have had serious mental or emotional disorders. Some people cannot understand that the entire world doesn't exist to cater to their whims. Others cannot abide anyone whose personality isn't a carbon copy of their own. Whatever their malfunction, the fault doesn't lie with Steven or the Inn, but likely with their complete inability to appreciate the diversity of life. Don't let those few negative reviewers turn you off. You will be missing a truly delightful experience.

If you are considering staying at the Berney Fly B&B, I strongly encourage you to do so!! We had a wonderful stay! Steven was such a gracious host and so very welcoming. He has a vast knowledge of Mobile history that he so kindly shared with us. The house is beautiful! It rained a bit while we were there, so we didn't get to enjoy the stunning backyard to it's fullest, but the patio area is gorgeous! The front porch was a very nice place to remain dry and still enjoy the scenery. My favorite part of our stay had to be breakfast. The grits were to die for - cheesy, and buttery, and so delicious! I was very tempted to ask for the recipe! We also enjoyed some local sausage, home-made bread and fresh fruit. Overall, we had a fantastic stay! We will absolutely be back!

My husband and I just spent the weekend at this B&B for the Go Daddy Bowl. We couldn't be more pleased! The experience was so incredibly personal down to every detail. Stephen gave us loads and loads of helpful information of what to do in the area as well as tons of fascinating facts and information about Mobile. We stayed in the pool side room, and it was great! My husband and I both agree we got some of the best sleep we've ever had in that comfortable bed! The breakfast each morning was extremely delicious, perfect portions, and perfectly catered to our schedule. We love the street we were on being so near to downtown yet also surrounded by gorgeous historic houses. Our only complaint would be that we had trouble with our WiFi in our room, but it worked perfectly fine in the main house. I would absolutely recommend this place, and we already can't wait for our next stay!

My husband and I were given the gift of a weekend getaway/honeymoon by his parents. They booked us two nights at the Berney Fly Bed and Breakfast. We were both a bit apprehensive about staying in someone's home with other guests in such close quarters, but we were pleasantly surprised! The innkeeper, Stephen, was very pleasant and knowledgeable about Mobile. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast. My favorite was the oatmeal banana pancakes! We really enjoyed the home like feel of the house. The pool, jacuzzi, and backyard are beautiful! The locale is great... There are many restaurants and shops close by. We highly recommend trying this cozy bed and breakfast if you are in the Mobile area!

This was the first time my wife and I stayed at a bed and breakfast. the experience we had while staying here, will definitely make us not only choose Berney/Fly when we visit Mobile or near it. But it will make us now always consider staying at a B&B. Stephen was an outstanding host, he was always willing to accommodate and almost dared you to ask a question that he could not solve. Overall and because of our stay at Berney/Fly it truly made our 22nd wedding anniversary memorable.
