English Tudor View Bed and Breakfast

2227 72nd Ave SE , Mercer Island, 98040 USA (Show map)

Only 7 minutes to downtown Seattle!!! To all major tourist attractions, sport stadiums, Washington State Ferry and the Convention Center. Located in upscale neighborhood, our home is quiet and has magnificent views. Enjoy the tranquil garden or visit the park next door where you will find tennis courts and wooded walking trails. Why stay with JoAnn? Save money, be happy and eat well. Call ahead, request your favorite cookie. Bus service every 10 min, 7 minutes ride each way. To top this off, our convenient historical Roanoke Inn is within walking distance; meet the locals and share the great pub spirits. In spite of its proximity to urban areas, the property still rests among old growth trees and greenery. The park next door is perfect for for walking, jogging, cycling and taking in mountain and lake views. You will love it here. JoAnn Note on the owner: She once owned a famous cookie store in downtown Seattle (between Pike & Union) and hence her B&B is sometimes called 'The Bakery'. If you call ahead, Joanne will make your favorite cookies or delicious cinnamon buns!

Great hostess, great location, delicious food

5 on November 15, 2014

Very welcoming hostess. We stayed 4 nights and had a new menu each morning and always delicious. JoAnn is an outstanding chef, conversationalist, decorator. The extra touches really made this the best B&B we've stayed in. We were conveniently located to everything Seattle has to offer. The views from English Tudor View were fabulous. I cannot say enough about this place. If we are ever in Seattle again I'll be returning here. -VS

Very Nice B&B On Mercer Island

4.8 on July 26, 2014

Located on Mercer Island, this B&B is very convenient to downtown Seattle (less than 10 minutes) without the parking/congestion problems of the City. In fact, Mercer Island is beautiful, and this home is located in a pleasant neighborhood immediately adjacent to a walking trail that will take you to the town of Mercer Island or to the shore of Lake Washington. JoAnn has run the B&B off-and-on for 15+ years since she retired from operating a specialty cookie business in Seattle with her late husband. She still says she is happiest when she is in her kitchen, and the delicious (and substantial) breakfasts she cooks reflect this. The six hens she has in her backyard provide daily fresh eggs for her creations. She was very friendly and helpful to us and her other guest in suggesting places to see and things to do in the area. The room we stayed in (the King Suite) was very spacious with a view through the trees to the water. The house is not fancy but is very well kept and JoAnn's son Darrell (an electrical contractor) clearly keeps things in good working order. Internet access was good and reliable. As with many B&B's, the host often determines how much you enjoy the accommodations, and we could not have felt more welcomed by JoAnn. I would recommend this B&B without qualification.
