Featuring Murder Mystery Weekends! First Friday Wine Tasting Overnight Lodging Weekend Tours: Sat-Sun 1-4:30pm Libations Lounge: Fri 4-9pm Sat&Sun 1-4:30pm The little Victorian village of Jim Thorpe, PA is a scenic paradise nestled between three mountains in northeastern Pennsylvania. An oasis of history perfectly preserved, the architecture of the Village is purely Victorian. Perched high atop Packer Hill, the Harry Packer Mansion sits like a sentinel overlooking the town. The mansion's impressive facade could have been taken from a gothic novel, this is only fitting for the Mansion used as the model for Disney World's Haunted Mansion! The interior however is anything but spooky. Fifteen foot ceilings, marble fireplaces and gilded mirrors of the parlors reflect the elegance of the Victorian Age. The guest accommodations in the mansion and the adjoining Carriage House are furnished with period antiques, luxurious fabrics, and carefully selected artwork. In addition to offering overnight lodging the Mansion also hosts Murder Mystery Weekends, First Friday Wine Tastings and special events.

I went on a 2 night & 3 day get-away w/my hubby for our 3 year anniversary. We went from Sun-Tues. We did not go for the murder mystery weekend, but it was still such a beautiful place to visit. Pat & Bob were very nice & accommodating, the breakfast was delicious, and the energy in the home was most welcoming. I wish we could've stayed longer. I have already recommended The Harry Packer Mansion to my friends, family & customers!! Looking forward to going back for a wine tasting and/or murder mystery weekend!

The accomdations were top rate. The mansion has been restored to its former glory and immaculate. The staff is great, made our stay a pleasurable experience. I would recommend this location to anyone. We will definately be returning in the future. The food alone is worth the trip.

We stayed at the Mansion recently for two nights. The house is itself is beautiful, and we would recommend staying in the Mansion itself (rather than the Carriage house) if possible. The inn keepers give the guests plenty of breathing space, and you could comfortably relax on the airy veranda and enjoy a nice selection of beverages from the Libations Lounge. The room was very nicely appointed, and the bed was comfortable. The house is very solid and thick, so rooms were well insulated and very private. The breakfasts were all very good, consisting of eggs, fruit, juice, and something else like waffles or pancakes. It was done nicely where you serve yourself and eat on the veranda or the dining room. We would definitely recommend staying here!

A weekend that will never be forgotten. Wonderful hosts and hostesses, wonderful guests, wonderful food, wonderful sleep, wonderful town - what else could a person want. Thank you. (P.S. I loved the murder mystery and being the one who done it!)

This is the best B&B I've stayed at. Great bar opens in the afternoon and stays open with great service.

History combined with role play makes for a FANTASTIC murder myster weekend at The Harry Packer Mansion! Bob serves up the fun while Pat serves up the best meals we've enjoyed in ages. Their son Taylor sees to all of our refreshment needs. The rooms are magnificent!!! We've already told all of our friends and familiy about the Mansion and know that we will be making a return trip.

To start on a positive note, the mansion was beautiful and clean....it would have been nice just to tour it instead of actually staying there. Having been to many B&B's, this one was definitely the worst. We were basically shown to our room and given a key. The food was the worst I have ever had....dry scrambled eggs, cold ham, flat french toast, an ounce of OJ....McDonald's offers a better breakfast (seriously). After going with the flow and returning home, I emailed the Innkeeper, Taylor. I got a very defensive, unprofessional return email. Apparently, we had to ask about everything (even what time breakfast was going to be served, for coffee, syrup for our french toast, etc. etc.). He was very arrogant and does not have his heart into the inn. I read reviews prior to going and gave the inn the benefit of the doubt after reading some not-so-good things. That was my first mistake. For almost $200/ night...it was most definitely a rip off! We have stayed at "Angel of the Morning" and also "The Parsonage"...both located in Jim Thorpe...I would highly recommend going to one of those B&B's over the "Harry Packer Mansion". They were much more reasonable, accomodating, friendly, and I left feeling relaxed and refreshed. Hope this helps with your trip planning!
