Located one-half mile from the Culinary Institute of America in lovely Hyde Park, nestled in the country, le Petit Chateau Inn is convenient to major cities, historic villages, the train station and airports. Our Chefs, graduates of the Culinary Institute of America, do all the cooking and baking. They also welcome and greet our guests! Our four rooms have modern amenities with private, luxurious baths, cable TV, VCR (some with DVD) and wireless internet access. Our cozy fireplaces are just a light switch and you are romantically engulfed in warm heat and soft light. Beautiful pond views, magnificent pine trees and a Christmas tree farm located on a forty acre estate provide year round beauty. The Inn was built in 1900 and is surrounded by ancient pines. Completely renovated with modern amenities, central air and heat. It is a tranquil property where one can stroll past a serene pond replete with ducks, great blue herons and turtles. Even (very large) carp keep the pond pristine year round.

We found a gem in Hyde Park,NY. We were looking for a clean, comfortable B&B close to our intended visits of the Culinary Institute, the mansions, and a wine tour. We were only able to spend 1 night, but we found the perfect place. You will feel as comfortable here as you would at home - maybe more, if you don't have a private chef at home. Valerie was charming and Marina, our breakfast chef, was a delight. Don't book your time solid as we would have loved to try some of their suggestions. Close to everything but in a peaceful, private setting.

The inn was very charming and felt like home. The large living room with comfortable furniture, complimentary wine and snacks added to the experience. The room was good size and well decorated and equipped. It felt as if we were invited to stay in a family's home.

I stayed in le petit chateau and stayed with members of my family and good friend where we took all four rooms in the inn to celebrate a 60th birthday and what a celebration we had. Valerie, in the innkeeper could not have been more gracious and accommodating and we felt like we were staying in our own homes. We had a special dinner prepared by Chefs Michele and Sarah, that was superb and they were so engaging and gracious and it had all the perfect ingredients for a fine evening. We all had a magnificent time and my expectations for this celebratory weekend were fulfilled in every way. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Our stay was delightful....the staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful...The chef's meals were exceptional. It was truly one of the nicest two day trips we have been on. The setting beautiful, the rooms picturesque. Worth every penny.

After our first awesome experience at Le Petit Chateau I knew it was the only place to stay when we visit Hyde Park. My family and I have returned many times and will return many more times. Valerie is a fantastic hostess and always provides 110%. The B&B is homey, inviting and the perfect location. Breakfast is always fantastic and something we all look forward to.

Le Petit Chateau, its accommodations, ambience, and service provided, quite properly must be rated as a superior B&B. Set in a rural area away from traffic noise, you begin to relax the moment you drive past its multi-flowered porch, and freshly mowed lawn to park. You enter into the morning eating area, with its great windows spilling light in and offering splendid views of the well-kept grounds. You can’t pass up tasting the cookies that are waiting for you on the sideboard. You notice the entire guest area is air-conditioned. To your left, you have the use of a large, comfortable sitting room, sprinkled with books (mostly on wine), and with carafes of wine (in ice water) and finger-snacks of cheese and crackers. Our spacious second floor room, artfully decorated in a wine motif, had a great king bed, lots of room, and a sparkling clean bathroom. As an extension of our room, our windows framed a panoramic view of a large country pond and a green meadow bordered by a low stone wall. We enjoyed, on our two-day visit, complete breakfasts, prepared dans le style de the nearby Culinary Institute of America - fluffy scrambled eggs topped with mushrooms in a hollandaise sauce, French toast topped with local berries in sauce, hot muffins, fruit, jams, juices and, of course, hot coffee. As important as the accommodations was the help we received from the staff, including the Owner’s assistance in getting us dinner accommodations at the CIA on short notice. You may be sure our next visit to the Hyde Park area will include staying at Le Petit Chateau. William and Priscilla Thoen, Ipswich, MA
