lovely stay

4.8 on July 10, 2017

Our weekend stay at Croff house was delightful. Easy access from the train station and to walk into town for restaurants, galleries and antiques. The breakfast was AMAZING, and even though the website said they didn't make food accommodations, they in fact offered me wonderful gluten-free alternatives when I mentioned I didn't eat gluten, and also made options for other guests with dietary restrictions. The rooms are lovely and quiet. I recommend this place highly!

Innkeeper Response
Thanks so much for the fantastic review! We're so happy you had such a fantastic stay with us at The Croff House. Our location makes everything in Hudson within a short walk yet still provides a quiet atmosphere for guests to relax and unwind. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed breakfast as well. We hope to see you again soon, but until then thanks so much! [N.B.: Due to the nature of our breakfasts we are able to accommodate only vegetarian dietary requests.]

Excellent B&B in Prime Location

5 on July 09, 2017

Wonderful B&B in a quiet but convenient location near Olana, Cedar Grove, and all the sights of the Hudson Valley. The hosts, Duncan and Russ, go out of their way to take care of all their guests and serve a magnificent breakfast. Also, the architecture of the Victorian house is worth the visit!

Innkeeper Response
Thanks a million for the excellent review! It's such a pleasure sharing both The Croff House and all the great things in and around Hudson with our guests. We pride ourselves on our hospitality and are so thank you also for recognizing our breakfast as well. We hope that when you travel plans bring you back to our area you will once again stay with us at The Croff House. Until then, thanks so much and enjoy the rest of your summer.

Great for experiencing Hudson

4.6 on June 02, 2017

The Croff House is comfortable and quaint, and walking distance to just about anything you want to see/do in Hudson. Russ and Duncan couldn't have been more friendly - really added to the charm of the experience. Would definitely stay again when returning to Hudson.

Innkeeper Response
Thanks so much for the amazing review. We had actually taken a hiatus from BnB and just reactivated our account. What a way to start off! We're so glad you had a great time and look forward to seeing you again soon. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

So impressed!

4.6 on October 03, 2015

We keep talking about our visit to the Croff House...and that was in August. My husband and I both work in the hospitality business and we were both delighted and impressed by the attention to detail and the dedication to excellence that the proprietors put into this B&B. And they were both so charming, warm and professional that we felt completely at home. We have already booked a return visit and Croff House is on our short list of favorite places to stay. Thanks Duncan and Russ!

Innkeeper Response
We thank you so much for the terrific review! It's wonderful when fellow hospitality guests stay with us and we're happy you're stay was memorable enough to motivate you to share your experience with future visitors. If we make it past the short list, we hope to see you back again soon. Until then, much appreciation and thanks!

Wonderful Place

4.8 on October 02, 2015

We were in town from NYC for a wedding and stayed here with some friends. It was a wonderful experience. It is a pretty short walk from the train and be prepared to walk as Uber doesn't seem to be around and the cab companies aren't really there either (this would be a problem for any and every B&B in Hudson). The House is very well done and Duncan and Russ are quite welcoming and put a lot of thought into the comfort of the place. It is on a little side street in a nice part of the small town. The breakfasts were fantastic - be prepared for a 3 course meal! Overall, this was one of the nicest B&B's I've ever been too. I'd say it reminds me a lot of Newburyport, MA, but with a better breakfast. Enjoy!

Innkeeper Response
Thanks a million for the awesome review! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. Wedding weekends are chock full of events, so guests don't usually have a lot of time to enjoy the inn and Hudson, but we're so glad this was not the case with your stay. We hope you will visit us once again, and look forward to seeing you. Thanks again!

Really Great Location and Hospitality

5 on May 26, 2015

I spent Memorial Day weekend with a group of friends at The Croff House. I wish I could think of some constructive criticism, but I can't - the house is perfect and the hosts are great. I would change nothing. Start with the house. It is beautiful. Actually, our collective jaws dropped when we entered it. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms are a treat. The location is great - walking distance from the town center and from the Hudson for fantastic views. There's also a lovely porch that is great for idling, enjoying the flowers, and chatting and imbibing. The hosts are very attentive without being in your face. Just really nice people who know their town and care about their guests' well-being. They cook a mean breakfast too and even accommodated the two vegans in our group without a grumble. This really is a great place to stay of you are looking for a getaway from New York and want to enjoy Hudson town. Very highly recommended.

Innkeeper Response
Patrick: Thanks for the sensational comments and praise, we really appreciate it! What a fun weekend it was for you all celebrating Jenny's graduation, and we're so happy you chose The Croff House to host your festivities. Based on your comments everything seems to have exceeded your needs and expectations, which is so fulfilling for us. We hope that you and the others will come back to Hudson for another visit soon. Until then thanks a million and be well!

Lovely, warm and quaint!

4.6 on February 06, 2015

We couldn't have had a more perfect place to stay. From the minute we arrived, Russ was at our car, helping us with our bags. Once inside, he happily recommended several restaurants in which to try while helping us get settled into our beautiful room. We truly felt at home in the Croff House, a magnificently restored Victorian home. Russ and Duncan provide the most personal touches everywhere, including making and setting the automatic timer on the coffee pot in the kitchen for my husband and me to help ourselves at our leisure. Both Duncan and Russ made two delicious, three course breakfasts each morning of our stay. I am already planning to say again for a mother/daughter weekend this summer and again in the fall with my husband.

Innkeeper Response
Amy & Greg: Thanks so much for the exceptional review. We're so happy you enjoyed your stay with us so highly and appreciate all your wonderful praise including our breakfasts, service and amenities. We look forward to hosting your mother/daughter getaway - just let us know when you'd like to book it and we will be waiting for you. Thanks again so very much!

Great Experience

4.8 on November 30, 2014

We went to the Croff House in the middle of November. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the house was very nicely decorated. The highlight was the breakfasts and the excellent selection of teas. The location was also great, as it is only a 5 minute walk from Warren St. Looking forward to coming back in the future.

Innkeeper Response

Signature Dish

Baked Amaretto French Toast
Our recipe takes a twist on the traditional Grand Marnier French Toast and uses Amaretto instead. The light almond flavoring pairs well with all of our homemade berry sauces and flavored fresh whipped cream. The overnight preparation ensures the French Toast comes out crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside!
