Located in Ulster County, high in the Catskills,it's amazing that in today's hurly-burly world, one can be so totally removed from everything yet still be only a little over two hours from Times Square. The Blue Horizon perches on 5 1/2 acres of park like land surrounded by thousands of acres of forest protected by the NY State Constitution as "forever wild". With a 50 mile view over several mountain ranges, a couple of gorgeous waterfalls nearby and deserted dirt roads to hike before attempting the well marked mountain trails, we are the living example of "way-the-hell-and-gone"

I had a wonderful stay at Alden and Eddie's place! The home is beautiful, rooms are comfortable, breakfasts are delicious, hosts are welcoming and fun to converse with, and the views are fantastic. I even hosted a dinner for relatives from the area--it was delicious and beautifully presented. Everyone was impressed. I would definitely stay here again.
The Blue room, on the main floor, has two full sized beds, DirecTV and a warm afternoon sun just perfect for napping.
The Yellow room, on the lower level features a queen sized bed, a fainting couch and a view of the sunrise through rolling hills.

The Dream Dinner of your Choice
We would be happy, given advance notice, to prepare your favorite dinner, from a vegetarian delight, made with organic local produce, in season, to a roasted leg of lamb, laced with garlic cloves and sprinkled with rosemary, to a pernil with tostados and rice with gandules, to barbequed steak dry rubbed with Montreal spicing, accompanied by our own Bechamel potatoes. And, of course, the perfect wine to match. Then try our apple pie made with our own apples and homemade ice cream in whatever flavor you request. Or maybe a maple flan? We can also provide wine and hors d'oeuvres for $10.00 per person in the late afternoon - great on your return from a hike.
