I would highly recommend Ms. Elsie's to anyone seeking a restful and beautiful "home away from home." Ms. Cheryl is an amazing innkeeper and overall person. Along with the outstanding accommodations and breakfast, I feel blessed to have found a new life long friend.

I first stayed at Ms. Elsie's Caribbean while looking for a place to live in Charlotte. I stayed there again for the first few days after relocating here. I have stayed at dozens of b&b's for work-related travel, but Ms. Elsie's exceeds all the others. The rooms are comfortable and impeccably clean. The food is authentic and delicious ... and plentiful enough that breakfast literally keeps you satisfied right through until dinner. But the crown jewel of a stay at Ms. Elsie's is Cheryl, the owner. She is passionate about her role as your hostess, and she delights you with stories of the islands and of her beloved Ms. Elsie, the inspiration for her b&b. It's nearly impossible to not feel like you are a member of Cheryl's family when staying there, and by the time you leave, you leave as a friend. Thank you, Cheryl! I wish all b&b's offered half the experience that yours does. -Eileen Hoyt, Charlotte, NC

We experienced "pros and cons" during our stay. We chose Ms. Elsie's for a birthday vacation getaway. The Pros: We ordered special items which were excellently presented upon our arrival into the "King Suite." The presentation, the cleanliness and beauty of the King Suite exceeded our expectations at first glance! The large bathroom was a feast for the eyes! The landscaping from the outside of this B&B was quaint and very unassuming, but the decor inside was absolutely beautiful, we were swept away to the Caribbean! Our hostess and chef was pleasant, and each meal was a caribbean delight and elegantly presented! Definitely our favorite part of the weekend! The Cons: The advertisement stated swimming pool, tennis court/basketball court, but we were not allowed to use the Court because of repairs needed (so we were told) and we wondered for how long because the court clearly had not been used for years! The Pool was covered in dead leaves and dead bugs and was never cleaned up for us to use during our stay. We encountered a few large water bugs in the King Suite, one of which dropped into our bed from the canopy or ceiling on our first night's stay! The Jacuzzi had low water pressure so it took forever to fill the tub while it made a constant loud noise resembling old unused pipes cranking up! To add insult to injury, we were told, after the fact, not to use the towels located inside of the bathroom cabinets anymore (we thought those were included since they were in there!) Overall: Our stay was pleasant enough, but for the "price" charged for the King Suite per night, the "amenities" that Ms. Elsie's advertised should have been as excellent as the food! Signed, Atlanta, Georgia Guests.

As much as we have traveled, Ms. Elsie's has proven to be the most warm and welcoming, spiritually uplifting, home away from home. Cheryl and her family made us a part of their lives the moment that we arrived. The food was fabulous, the King Suite was gorgeous, private, clean and relaxing. After arriving home, we looked at each other and both felt that we had left our best friends behind and something was now missing from our lives. So six months from now, we are once again going back to Ms. Elsie's and we are counting the days! Thank you Cheryl and Ms. Elsie's for one of the most memorable experiences of our lives!

Probably the best hotel/bed n breakfast experience I have ever had. Quietly set back off the road behind a very lightly wooded area. Upon entrance, you really feel like you have just arrived at a Carribean retreat. The decor is tropical and harmonious. The ambience of the place is beyond words can express. I stayed in the Mango room, and honestly did not want to leave. The largest room, the bamboo suite is nothing less than breathtaking. Breakfast (especially the fruit plate) once again hynotized me into thinking I was really in the Carribean somewhere!! Cheryl is great and you leave here looking forward to your next stay. Worth every cent!

This was the best B&B we have ever stayed in. Cheryl was very friendly and we felt right at home. I highly recommend staying in the Bamboo King suite. When we first walked in the room we just stood there with our mouths hanging open-we were so astonished at how beautiful and luxurious it was!! And the breakfast--words cannot begin to describe how delicious the food was. Everything we had was amazing !!

My wife selected Elsie's because I had done extensive business travelling in the Caribbean years ago and thought I would enjoy a "return trip." From the moment you walk through the front door you are transported back to the islands. Cheryl, the owner, was delightful, a warm and spiritual person, eager to give of herself and make you feel at home immediately. The food was top notch [I'd bet nobody leaves there the least bit hungry] and the service was wonderful. The island decor was done in very good taste- not overdone but very authentic. [no fishnetting and plastic seahorses on the wall!]The decor in every room was well thought out and were meaningful. Cherly asked my wife what her favorite color was. In the morning a 3-course breakfast awaited us, complete with blue- accented tableware and napkins. Just lovely.

I have travelled to many places and seen many things, but the I can trully say that the warmth and hospitality I received at Ms. Elsie's exceeded my every expectation. The warmth and kindness experienced in this place is nothing but joy. I have made new friends that will last me a life time. Cheryl shares the legacy of her grandmother in a unique way and the love she exprienced is transposed into the breakfast extravaganza in ways that not only bless your palate, but the fine dining cuisines bless your soul and spirit in such a way you can only say...this is love! Cheryl, May God continue to bless your hands. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience.
