Our charming brownstone, built in 1896, is set on a quiet, tree lined street adjacent to Kenmore Square and the Charles River and very near Boston University and Fenway Park. It has been lovingly maintained as our private residence for two generations. All original architectural details have been preserved. There are modern amenities with old world Victorian charm. Our rooms include: queen bed with a single futon sleep sofa (for a small child only) or twin beds that can be made into a king bed with a single futon sleep sofa (for a small child only) with private attached baths. There is also a single room with a private bath in the hall and a single room in which the bath is shared with another room. All rooms have TVs, private phone lines, desks and A/C. They are on the 3rd or 4th floors. Help yourself to self-serve continental breakfast in the dining room. We are around the corner from the subway. This was a great location because of convenience to Green Line around the corner as well as walking distance to Museum of Fine Arts at the Fenway and to other sites. It's on a fairly quiet street for a city block and there was complete quiet in the building itself. My single room and bathroom (unfortunately in the hall) were very clean. I appreciated having a mini-fridge as well as hot-water maker in the room. Room is small, but has a desk as well as reading chair and lamp. The owners were kindly, even allowing me to overstay checkout time so I wouldn't have to carry my luggage while viewing an art exhibit the last morning. Lihwa also went out to buy ginger tea and almond milk when she learned I couldn't drink any caffeinated beverages or regular milk. I would have preferred a hot breakfast, given that it was winter, but I understand about city rules regarding kitchen use, which Lihwa explained. This B&B is an easy place to stay if you wish to simply come and go with ease, with your own set of keys. There's no communal area for congregating with other guests, except at breakfast table. It was just right for my 3-night stay.

The location was very convenient,i really liked the old timey charm, the people running it seemed very nice. It was pretty quiet, and very spacious in the Queen room 3c. Only complaint was the bed is very hard, maybe one of those memory foam pads would help. I did not eat the food.

I spent three nights at Abigayle's B & B (operated by Lihua Thelmo and her husband); I think I had the smallest available room, but still very suitable. The building is old, charming and immaculate. Location is ideal in the BU neighborhood, with the Kenmore station around the corner and in walking distance of a park by the Charles River. Only had time for one breakfast, and that was good and more than adequate. The Thelmos were very kind and helpful with directions; Mr. T. insisted on getting up at a terribly early hour to help me carry my case downstairs; yes, there are stairs, and lots of them, so must have good legs/knees to manage this lovely accommodation. Highly recommended.

Location was great. We met some interesting people from other countries. I was a little surprised there was no common room other than dining room. It was a good value.
