Thanks again for the great stay! One thing I want to ask is to have extra shampoo and soap. I stayed for three nights and could've emailed to ask but simply did not have time to get to the email. Thanks!!!

This was my second stay with Rob and Jess. Both times I used their place as a 'home base' while visiting family and friends in Alaska. The genuine hospitality and awesome breakfasts, as well as convenient location and comfortable rooms will bring me back everytime I get to come home to visit. Thanks for being such an intragal and enjoyable part of my visits! Highly recommended!!!

Very accessible to airport, 5-10 minutes! Husband used to live in the Aluetians in Alaska, and was impressed with their artifacts, very comfy decor. Use of communal kitchen on lower floor, wish we had of known ahead of time, tho. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would definitely return, but don't go if u expect an actual breakfast. Actually, housekeeper came as we were leaving and apologized, wondering how we ate, as fridge was almost empty, whoever covered her days off hadn't topped up supplies. We were going out for hot breakfast anyway. She did say they haven't updated all servers on the web, as it does say online they cook u breakfast! Also, online they tell u to phone w any questions, but they never answer the phone ( which another review stated ). All this said, we still enjoyed the environment , even if it wasn't like a traditional B & B at all! More economical than a hotel, more comfortable!
Thank you for your thorough review. My husband and I are taking over this property for 2017 -feedback like yours is helping us know where to focus our efforts. I currently have the phones forwarded to my cell and we are excited to personally meet guests and make a yummy breakfast. If you are ever in our next of the woods again we'd love to host you!

Enjoyed our stay at the Jewel Lake B and B. Owners were very accommodating and friendly. The entire place was immaculate which is an important criteria for us.
Thank you for your review. My husband and I are taking over this property for 2017 -we plan to keep up the cleaning and maintenance that the previous innkeepers were known for. We'd love to have you stay again sometime.

We arrived very late and found a welcome note and key taped on the front door. The beds and room were clean and cozy. a central kitchen area with a fridge to place the food from our cooler overnight was convenient. Continental breakfast included freshly prepared eggs on the front porch. Price was less than nearby hotels. If we pass through Anchorage again, this is where we will stay.

My husband and I brought our good friends and their two teen daughters to Alaska from Pennsylvania, and our first night was at JLB&B. What a perfect introduction to AK! Paul was an accomodating and gracious host. The common area is quintessential Alaskan. The rooms throughout the the property were very clean, quiet, had LOTS of down-filled pillows on well-covered beds, and were shielded from the summer's midnight sun's light so all were able to a good night's sleep! The downstairs rooms have elevated floors to accomodate plumbing...the ONLY (and minor) drawback to the whole experience! Be sure to get up early enough to enjoy a fresh warm lemon-almond muffin! And Paul's strawberry (in season?) waffels and breakfast egg-cheese-canadian bacon muffins are to die for! Certainly one of the best B&B experiences in AK!

Jess & Rob
The culinary powerhouse behind the Alaskan breakfast here, Jess first moved to Alaska in 1984 as a wee little girl with an adventurous family. A life-long Alaskan, Rob knew the importance of marrying a great cook with an adventurous spirit. He lives happily ever after as an Innkeeper now (even though that's mostly just cleaning toilets).
