Excellent Bed and Breakfast in Kiev

4.6 on July 02, 2012

Me and my friends Kicki and Jan from Sweden visited Ukraine and Kiev for eleven days during the great football event EURO 2012 and had a very pleasant stay at Eleneas bed and Breakfast just outside Kiev. Our hosts Elena and Igor turned out to be two very generous and nice persons, and their house and cottage was very comfortable and roomy. We had full access to the garden and their house, so it was like home for us and made our visit very pleasant. Elena and Igor also turned out to be two excellent guides and experts in both World War II and Tjernobyl, very nice and exciting for us who is very interested in this areas. If you are interested in the history of Ukraine and are planning to investigate Kiev and the surrounding area, but want to reduce your cost and rest in a friendly environment, this is the place for you! I will for sure come back some day to continue my exploration of this lovely country :-) Anders Bergman, Karlstad, Sweden

Beautiful Dacha with wonderful hosts and hospitality

During my visit to Kiev in 2010, I arranged with Elena and Igor to stay at their dacha, and for pickup at Kiev Airport. Both were wonderful hosts, and toured me around Kiev and the country side to see World War II battlefield sites and bunkers. Both speak excellent english, have a great knowledge of history and their dacha was a very comfortable place to call home in Kiev. I planned to say at several other hotels in Kiev, but cancelled to spend the duration of my visit with Elena and Igor. I highly recommend their dacha and hospitality! - Justin Taylan, New York, USA

What a gem!

4.0 on December 28, 2011

I am an adventurous guy and love travelling off the beaten path. When I travel to distant lands, I want to learn the culture and know the people, and you can't get that by staying in a hotel! I stayed at Elena's B&B for a week and it was much more than I had bargained for! As soon as I got there, they made me feel like a part of their family and not an anonymous guest at a high priced Kiev hotel! If you love the country, then Elena's the place for you! Their charming little cottage is something out of Sunset Magazine. But if you want to explore Kiev, no problem because it's only 20 minutes away. So have fun in the city, then come home to a real home-cooked meal, drinks, and nice chats with your hosts. And before you hit the sack, try the sauna! Elena and Igor speak excellent English and they have a great sense of humor. You don't have to friends or family in Ukraine, so there is no more excuse not to visit! For you first timers, this is the way to go. They can help you plan your adventures. I give them 5-stars and a big thumbs up! HENRY SAKAIDA CALIFORNIA USA
