A perfect spot to relax in a charming little town that will take you back to turn-of-the-century (19th to 20th,of course) elegance. Linda and Stu are wonderful, thoughtful hosts—every bit as charming as the environs. One of my all-time favorite places to visit.

Lovely B&B

5 on October 18, 2017

Loved our stay here so much! I never thought I would say it, but the jalepeno grits alone are enough to book your stay. Bars are walking distance from the B&B, and the town is adorable. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Mrs. Linda was so hospitable and friendly. Cannot wait for an excuse to stay at the Katy House again.

Smithville Historic Home

This was truly a home away from home. The hostess, Linda, made me feel like part of the family. The bedrooms were spacious and nicely appointed. As a light sleeper, I appreciated having my own AC unit that also served as a "white noise" device. We all know that private B&Bs can be noisy. The Katy is within walking distance to downtown shops and eateries. Not having a car on this trip made that fact important to me. Linda paid attention to my dietary preferences. I would definitely place the Katy on my list of B&Bs to visit again (especially with those lovely sheets!)

Fun B & B

Beautiful historic home & super friendly B & B owners Linda & Stu. We could not have been more welcomed. We felt we were part of their family & town before we left there. The breakfast is casual, plentiful & yummy. We highly recommend a stay at Katy House in Smithville, TX. We especially enjoyed our room with the private balcony & spacious bathroom.

Weekend Getaway

5 on May 26, 2017

We enjoyed our weekend getaway in Smithville. We enjoyed walking the trails in Buescher State Park. For dinner, we went to the pizza restaurant. It was excellent and we enjoyed Amy's Ice Cream next door while sitting leisurely outdoors at the picnic tables. Breakfast was lovely and the Jalapeno Grits was a personal favorite. Linda and Stu were great hosts and we enjoyed talking with them over breakfast.

Perfect location in Smithville, great personal stay

We stayed a night at the Katy House after camping in Bastrop and had the absolute best time. Despite living in Austin, we had never explored Smithville and the B&B owners steered us in the right directions every time. Upon arrival, Linda had multiple recommendations for us, all within walking distance from the Katy House, and all great experiences. The jacuzzi tub in the Katy Tower made the entire stay worth it alone. Stu made us breakfast the next morning, including the best toast I've ever had. We'd absolutely visit Smithville again simply to stay here.

Stu and Linda provide an outstanding B&B experience in Smithville, Texas about 1 hour from Austin and about 2 hours from Houston. This is a great place to stay and experience several areas of the surround Hill Country area of Texas.
