This is one of our favorite places to stay in the Hill Country. The house is beautiful and very well maintained. We love the peacefulness of the property. There are always plenty of deer, birds and butterflies to watch as you relax. You can choose to stay and enjoy the serenity of the house...or you can shop til you drop because it is only a short drive to downtown Fredericksburg. Definitely a place we will continue to come back to time and again. Love it here!

We rented this wonderful house for my husband's birthday trip this year. We only left the house once, as it had everything we needed. We enjoyed the concierge service of a personal chef the first night. Kevin was great to work with, coming up with several menus to choose from. The food was delicious! My husband and I both enjoy outdoor/wildlife/bird photography, so with 55 acres of nature abounding in the spring season, we had plenty of photographic opportunities to keep us busy. We told the owners we would be shooting bird and nature photography and before we arrived, they filled every feeder they had with good quality seed and nectar. The birds were thriving! We even had our own house cat, Frida. The continental breakfasts were tasty including sausage rolls and muffins. The kitchen had everything we needed. The living room had comfy seating with a good sound system for the tv. The bed/linens top notch. Spacious shower in the master with endless hot water. This is a gem we will return to without question.

This is no mere cottage. It's a thoroughly modern home with all the features of a luxurious city home, and it's beautifully decorated and maintained. From the moment you enter the property and follow the winding driveway to the house, you appreciate the seclusion Bella Vista offers. The front yard is adorable and welcoming. As we entered the cottage itself, we were surprised at how spacious and contemporary it is. The kitchen has all the modern conveniences, and the appliances and cabinets are all top-of-the-line. Kevin and JoAnna put out a bottle of wine and chocolates, and breakfast was waiting in the fridge. There's also a home-theater setup, and wi-fi. The kitchen and living areas set the bar high, and the bedrooms and bathrooms did not disappoint. Again, modern, stylish, and above all, comfortable. The master bed and bath are out of this world -- better than what you see in 99% of the houses out there. And of course, there's the property itself. It offers a beautiful view of gently rolling hills. And because it's on 55 acres, it's quiet -- really quiet. At night, you can see the Milky Way, so bring your telescope if you have one. Oh, and the fragrance! I'm a city boy, so I don't know what it was -- sage? Whatever it was, it was all over the property and it put me in the best frame of mind. We spent the day in Fredericksburg doing the Wine Passport thing (check it out at http://texaswinetrail.com/store/item/2016-texas-wine-month-trail). It's a beautiful drive of about 20 or 25 minutes. Oktoberfest was underway, so we had lots to do. That said, just staying at the cottage would have been enough. My two days there were far too short. If you're looking to make a memory; if you want to experience the kind of serenity that you can only get in the country; but if you don't want to rough it, then by all means check out Bella Vista.

This cottage more than exceeded our expectations and was perfect for relaxation and becoming one with nature. The back patio had amazing views of the ravine and creek bed. At dusk and dawn we watched as the deer would travel up the ravine right outside the cottage. Not to mention the amazing views of the skies at nights and being able to see stars as far as the eye could see. The bed was so comfortable and the dual showers were amazing. This cottage had more than we could ask for and more.

We experienced this sweet gem for the first time recently and will most definitely go back again and again. The excellence that accompanies every detail is almost more than you would ever expect out here in the country. We wanted to read, relax and enjoy the country and that's what we did....in a first class cottage. Thank you Kevin and JoAnna!

The Bella Vista Cottage was a wonderful place to stay for our honeymoon! It's so peaceful and you have lots of privacy, but it is not too far away from down town Fredricksburg. The views are incredible, and there are deer and other wildlife at all hours of the day. We can't wait to come back!!!

Beautiful home on acreage. Great attention paid to the small amenities. Ended up spending the majority of our Fredericksburg stay hanging out on the property. We would recommend this property without any reservations.

What a serene and relaxing getaway - just a short drive from Fredericksburg. This is a true jewel seated on fifty acres of gorgeous Hill Country enjoyment. We have visited twice and look forward to many more tranquil and romantic vacations here.
AUS-Austin/Bergstrom International Airport 102 miles
West on 290 for about 11 miles and you will see a sign for "Old Harper Road"; you will cross a bridge just before the intersection, take a right; it’s a very shallow right almost a Y-- the only way to go. Stay on Old Harper Road till you come to a stop sign; turn right, this is Doss-Spring Creek Road. Stay on Doss-Spring Creek Road for 6 cattle guards, about 2 miles, till you come to a "Y" intersection, this is Cut Off Road take a left. We will be the second drive on the right about a 1/4 mile, turn in a follow the drive about a 1/3 of a mile back; you will not see the house from the main road.
