Clara's Cabin was clean and comfortable. Plenty of space to spread out inside and very quiet. Weekend breakfasts were yummy. Having a private outside space and hot tub was wonderful. We walked to town every day, but it was 4-6 blocks each way. Perfect for us, but I recognize not everyone would want to do that. 5 stars for sure.

Clara's Cottage and a room in the house were perfect in every way! Exceptionally clean, plenty of towels, and breakfast was delicious! We stayed 4 nights and couldn't ask for a more perfect stay and location. We walked into town for shopping and dinner! Kat and her husband were wonderful hosts! We enjoyed chatting with them each morning! This was our 2nd time staying with them and we will stay again!

Very charming. Walking distance to town. Wonderful owners; very personable. Would stay again. Room very clean. Would suggest a bit more variety of breakfast food such as fresh fruit, oatmeal and toast (lower fat and calorie food). Would also suggest that we have access to wireless internet.

First let me say that the room itself was fine. Small but comfortable. The small area with the refrig and microwave was a plus and the bathroom was fine. The difficulties with this property are as follows: 1. No WiFi and it does NOT state that anywhere on the website. 2. The place is hard to find. There is no clear signage so difficult to figure out which house contained the room. I can't imagine arriving in the dark; there are no street lights either. 3. Breakfast is not until 9 am. And that is the only time and there is only one menu item. As we were trying to have a full day of hiking, 9 am was way too late. But this should be stated clearly. The breakfast item itself was very good and the host was a very nice lady to chat with. 4. This is not a true bnb...you have no access to the house nor are there any common areas. You are admitted to the breakfast room at 9 am but no directions as to where it was located and how one accesses it. Again, the room was fine but the website needs more clarity. We would not have stayed there if we had known all of these things in advance.

Charming Cabin blocks from downtown. Feels like a cabin in the woods. Clean and cozy. Fireplace and hot tub. Would go again.

My husband and I wanted a few days away for our anniversary, and this cabin was absolutely perfect. It was cozy, beautiful, and designed perfectly for a couple's romantic getaway. It is a short walk to Main Street. We enjoyed the visits over breakfast, and Kat was a perfect host. We would most definitely stay here again. John and Karen Harrell

We went to Fredericksburg for a weekend of shopping, wine tasting, eating and hiking up Enchanted Rock. Clara's Cabin in a great find if you want something completely different and like the chance to go back to simpler times, but with all of the normal conveniences of a nice hotel. The property is located behind the owners' home, but is very secluded and you feel like you have a lot of privacy. The owner's provide breakfast in the morning in their sunroom, but we did not take advantage of that due to our busy schedule. So, I graded "met expectations" since I was required to put a rating on the dining, but if anything like the cabin, I am sure it is great. I don't want to spoil the surprises, so I will just keep it basic - lots of space, so more than what you would find in most hotels. There is a full-size kitchen, refrigerator, oven and microwave. However, the hosts prefer that you not cook on the stove. There is also a gas fire place with plenty of seating room. My wife and I decided that the bed has the most comfortable sheets that we have slept on. And the bathroom has all of the basics and nice linens. Outside are a set of rocking chairs on the porch and a hot tub. Probably the only thing that will bug you, is the narrow driveway to get to the back. I have a truck, so it was narrow for me, but if you are in anything smaller, you will be fine. Overall, we loved the cabin. You are convenient to everything in Fredericksburg, but far enough away from the downtown area to feel like you have gotten away from it all. Great place and loved the privacy of it all.

I wanted a romantic place to propose to my girlfriend. I tried Palo Duro Canyon. So I turned my attention to Fredericksburg and started looking for BnB's. We had never been to a real one before. The Victorian room was awesome and a ton of blue but that's ok. The bed was sssooooo comfortable. The place was pretty neat. You walk into a small eating area (from the front door) into a living room with a fireplace then you open a door into the bedroom. There is a big patio table and chairs in the back and that's where I did it! I ordered the romance package (roses, chocolate covered strawberries, various chocolates and a bottle of wine. The breakfast: I'm a very picky eater and the food was amazing. The owners are very cool people. The place is 1 block from Main St. so we parked the truck and walked everywhere.

We stayed in the Victorian Suite. It was quaint, as one would expect from the website. There we're too many decorations. I put some in the closet so we would have space for our things. The room was also uncomfortably warm. They said the temperature was set to 70° but it felt more like 80°. The Breakfast was tasty and homemade. However there were no options. You get what they want you to eat. We didn't go to breakfast the second day because I prefer to eat what I want. If you aren't picky about anything, this place is perfect.
