The 1959 Imperial Villa is one of the largest and most luxurious trailers produced by Spartan Aircraft Co. This fully-restored vintage park model (10'x45', triple axle) offers all the comforts of home with amazing original mid-century modern furnishings. Step back in time and experience the beauty and tranquility of simpler days on our 11-acre, mostly-wooded homesite. Constructed of aircraft aluminum, the all-original interior is birch accented by walnut and brass. Almost all the furnishings are period pieces, fascinating to see and experience -- like entering a hands-on museum from the 1950s. Nestled in the trees and surrounded on all sides by curtained windows, the interior living space has an open, yet cozy feeling. There's a full-sized bathtub/shower, a full-sized & fully equipped kitchen (though it is not fully stocked with food), an on-demand hot water heater, and a two-ton heat pump which thermostatically controls the climate. The middle room houses a beautiful mid-century modern stereo console. We have 400+ vinyl albums available for your listening enjoyment. In addition to the living space, you are welcome to enjoy our outdoor seating areas, fire pit, picnic table, charcoal grill, hammock, ping-pong table, basketball hoop, two vintage cruiser bikes, vintage trike, a vintage wagon, croquet set, horse shoes, and the playground. The Imperial Villa sits on our 11-acre, mostly wooded homesite, and you are welcome to hike/explore the surrounding area.
Bedroom with comfortable double bed, surrounded on three sides with curtained windows. Storage space available in closet and drawers. Birch walls with walnut-front cabinets.

From Dallas, head north on 75 (North Central Expressway) heading towards McKinney. Head west on 691, which is the last Sherman exit and the first Denison exit. Go two miles to the first traffic light and turn right onto Preston Road (the road to the left is Travis and heads into Sherman). Drive one mile on Preston Road and take a left onto Lakewood. Drive 1/3 mile on Lakewood and take your first left on Mourning Dove Lane. The address is 164 Mourning Dove Lane, and it is approximately 300 yards on the left past the corner house on Lakewood and Mourning Dove. Follow the driveway past the house and bear to the right. There will be a concrete pad on your right (in front of the garage) where you can park, or pull straight forward to the picnic table (to get as close to the trailer as possible). The Spartan Villa is directly in front of you with two turquoise chairs in front of it.

Vintage Trailer Addiction is a serious illness -- particularly dangerous because the early symptoms are not readily detectable until the disease has progressed and taken hold of the patient’s vital resources (e.g., thought processes, time, energy, finances). I know. My name's Steve, and I'm a Vintage Trailer Addict. As an innkeeper I justify my ongoing addiction to the trailer's form-follows-function beauty, captivating curves, & the sensual pleasure of wood grains and polished metals.
