A Lovely Vacation Stay

5 on October 19, 2017

The Strickland Arms Bed & Breakfast is a wonderful old mansion filled with beautiful antiques, and run by very friendly owners. All of the bedrooms are so inviting that it will be difficult to decide which one to stay in on our next visit! One bedroom has a hanging swing, while others have a jacuzzi tub or wrap around windows. Coffee was always available in the dining room, and the breakfast included juice, teas, good coffee, fresh fruit, croissants or muffins, and eggs. There is a mini fridge outside the rooms containing lots of cold bottled water, as well as pretty, cut-glass wine and champagne glasses. A wine/bottle opener and towels for the pool and hot tub are available, as well as plastic cups for the pool or hot tub area. We loved our stay at the the Strickland Arms B&B, which is where we will stay the next time we are visiting Austin!

Awesome B&B

5 on July 03, 2017

James and Susan are great hosts in this wonderful B&B located in the sleepy town of Brenham, TX. This wonderful older home is kept immaculate, the 3 course breakfast they serve everyday never disappoints, and they always take the time to sit and talk after breakfast to let everybody know what is going on in Brenham during our stay. We highly recommend the Brenham House to anyone who appreciates quality food and accommodations with a relaxing and friendly atmosphere.

Adorable Inn, Lovely owners

Stayed here with my preteen daughter on a Thanksgiving weekend trip. We loved our charming room with the deep tub and nice cotton robes! The website photos do not do justice to the yard, with its picturesque bottle tree, adorable painted fences, citrus bush and wrought-iron garden set. The breakfast was top-notch and the owners gracious and lovely. We highly recommend it! Jenny and Ruby, Austin

Mother/ daughter weekend

5 on September 20, 2016

My mom and I spent the weekend at Brenham House. James and Susan are wonderful, friendly hosts. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! The lemon drop cookies that were set out for refreshment were so yummy (not surprising, since James and Susan once owned a bakery.). We stayed in the Bluebonnet room. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom had been newly renovated. The house has an interesting history and there are many things to see and do in Brenham and within a short driving distance. There was a mini fridge in the room, free wifi and cable tv. This is a wonderful place to stay and we will definitely stay here again.

A Mother's Day Weekend to Remember!

This inn was so clean and beautiful. It is just like the pictures-quaint and peaceful. The food is so delicious that you want to lick the plates clean. The owners, James and Susan were so nice and made you feel like family! My mother and I could not have asked for anything more as it was a perfect weekend. Everyone should stay here at least once in your lifetime as the experience is something you will never forget.

Wonderful hosts and excellent accommodations

4.8 on December 29, 2013

We contacted James and Susan at the last minute when another reservation fell through. They immediately worked out very nice accommodations for my mother, high school aged daughter, and myself for our 2 night get away retreat. We greatly appreciated all of the personal attention they gave us which totally met our hope for a welcoming atmosphere at a B&B. The rooms are cozy and although there isn't a lot of extra space in the bedrooms they welcome you to enjoy a sunroom and the living room. The availability of tea, coffee and hot cocoa throughout the day and Susan's cookies each afternoon were a real treat. After serving a 3 course breakfast each morning they stayed to visit with the guests and provided us with a lot of information about local attractions. Overall it was the true experience we look for in a B&B get away.

Epitome of Bed & Breakfast

My husband and I chose The Brenham House for a peaceful weekend getaway from hectic Houston life. It was an optimum 1 hour and 15 minute drive. Our arrival was a warm greeting with no hassle and immediate attention. This is far different from the randomness we find with a hotel stay. James and Susan, the owners, treat their B&B as if it were their home. It is clean with any needed amenity. The food they made was remarkable with more than enough to please anyone. Needless to say our peaceful retreat has turned into many more at their B&B and we will continue to recommend it to everyone!

Very pleasant weekend!

We just spent the weekend in the Antique Rosr room. Everything was so very nice. James and Susan are terrific hosts. The food was superb! We definitely recommend this B and B. the only thing I would change about our weekend is we would rather have stayed in one of the larger rooms. Antique Rosé room is a little small when you are wanting to relax and read, talk and or watch TV. We did enjoy sitting in the enclosed porch which was right next to our room. That made our small room better; having the porch right there. Try this B and B. You will really enjoy it! The Jarvis'

Signature Dish

All of our breakfasts come with fruit, a egg entree such as our Taquitos with egg and sausage, topped with homemade queso and diced tomatoes. A side of hash browns compliments this dish nicely, then a dessert is alway served such as so papillo cheese cake which makes a nice ending to the breakfast! Coffee or tea is served along with juice.
