Walking into Blue Buffalo was like coming home to family. Dan and Cathy are such wonderful people. Never will I come to Austin and stay in a cold strange place. We immediately felt at home and welcome. I felt like I was staying with my folks. So warm.

Wonderful stay, food, and view

The property is very cute and well decorated. The owners are incredibly nice people and cooked amazing breakfast every morning, and also provided us cheese and wine. Fantastic B&B!

Can We go back already?!

We Did not want to leave! Blue Buffalo Bed & Breakfast is the most relaxing place we've stayed yet. This was our first time ever staying at a Bed & Breakfast and it's safe to say we have found THE place to stay at every time we visit Austin! So much better then staying at hotel. We couldn't have felt more at home. Dan & Cathy were so friendly & welcoming and boy can they cook a gourmet breakfast! Of course there's way more to talk about than the amazing breakfast! The area of the b&b is secluded yet, at the same time nearby so much awesome shopping, entertainment and great restaurants! (Although I don't think any restaurant can compete with their amazing breakfast!) The views are amazing from every room! Their home is right on the lake, which offers great seating outside with gorgeous landscaping throughout the property. We stayed in the buffalo room, it was cozy, welcoming and very clean. Every window in our room had an amazing view! The room comes with a private balcony and seating overlooking the lake. The bed had us feeling like we were sleeping on a cloud. Complete bliss. My only regret is not spending most of our weekend on the property! Every morning Dan and Cathy had coffee and breakfast ready for us to enjoy on a second balcony with a gorgeous view of the lake. On the First day we were spoiled with yogurt, fresh fruit , mimosas and veggie omelet with bacon. Second day we had fresh watermelon, cinnamon French toast and eggs with savory sausage. On our last day, after another amazing, filling meal we enjoyed the lake and the kayaks Dan And Cathy had available. After kayaking and taking in the scenery, my husband and I jumped in the lake and enjoyed a nice swim. Dan and Cathy made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. We can't wait to go back!

Great place to stay!

We enjoyed three nights in the Blue Buffalo at the end of June. The view of Lake Travis is perfect during breakfast on the veranda, with lots of bird song and trees (it was also very visible from our room). There are three other seating areas outdoors, one semi-private, was steps away from our room; another, on the lawn overlooking the lake; another under the trees with sparkling lights in the evenings, and perfect for a glass of wine. An outdoor speaker brings music into the experience. Breakfasts were delicious, generous and varied and included Cathy and Dan's home-grown tomatoes and eggs from their own hens (no worries, no fowl on the property). The home is comfortable, in southwest colors and art, and not conventional. The hosts are warm and friendly and had suggestions for dining. We felt welcome. Dan was helpful setting us up for kayaking. There's a marina right down the street with very good guitarists entertaining and good food. We really can't find any negatives. Highly recommended!

You just can't go wrong with this one.

This was an experience that was second to none. The breakfasts were just as other reviews promised. We rented their kayaks and had a great time poking up into the cove. This B&B is in the no wake zone of a large the cove, so there were no loud boats. The setting was very relaxing. We had a lower room with very in the Adirondack chairs. easy access to a yard overlooking the lake and watching the sunset. It will be a tough act to follow. The bar has been set very high.

Wonderful Mini Vacation

5 on March 21, 2016

March 2016 This B & B stay was everything it should be. Dan & Cathy are gracious, accommodating hosts. The Buffalo room was spacious, clean and inviting along with the attached deck that looked out over the lake. Breakfast the 1st morning, in the dining room, was sumptuous French toast with fresh blackberries, spiced sausage, fruit, yogurt & granola. The second morning breakfast was on the veranda, overlooking the lake, with a spinach omelet, sliced potatoes and flavored bacon, fresh fruit etc.. This was a mini vacation for myself and a dear friend. We attended a concert, shared in wine and cheese and lots of laughter, while taking in the gorgeous view. I will definitely stay at Blue Buffalo B & B again, it was Fabulous.

Peaceful and Relaxing

My first B&B and I was skeptical; but after staying at the Blue Buffalo, I will definitely return. Cathy and Dan were most gracious hosts. Breakfast was great...especially out on the verandah! Fantastic views of Lake Travis. The room was very clean and spacious. It was quiet, relaxing and very peaceful. Really good experience.

Amazing Experience!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Buffalo B&B on New Year's Eve! From the moment we arrived at the house, the Innkeepers (Cathy and Dan) were very accommodating and hospitable. We felt at home in their beautiful waterfront house. There were amazing lake views from our room (Buffalo Room) and the adjacent deck to our room. The breakfast was delicious! We wish we knew how to fix gourmet food like they do! Lastly, the bed was so comfy! We had the best sleep and woke up feeling very refreshed! Thank you Cathy and Dan for an amazing experience! We will be back!

Weekend getaway

Awesome weekend getaway. Breathtaking views with clean and neat rooms. The homeowners were so kind and attentive. The breakfast rivaled any 5 star resturant. Will definitely be back.
