Mulberry Lavender Farm and B&B

9 Back Street , Mulberry, TN 37359 USA (Show map)

About

Enjoy the historic rustic charm of the 1860s farm house, once owned by famous distiller Jack Daniel's brother and Civil War hero Wiley, and a great stop if you are visiting Lynchburg, just a few miles away. Once the location of one of 13 whiskey distilleries along Mulberry Creek, it now distills lavender oil instead. It is now home to an all-organic lavender farm, Mulberry Lavender Farm, with Navajo Churro sheep and heritage chickens. The rooms are rustic - not luxurious but comfortable and charming. Step back in time to relax and renew. Life is good on Mulberry Creek. Please NOTE: The whole farm is a non-smoking environment to keep the lavender safe from TMV, a virus that can kill an entire field in record time. It is important that guests are respectful of that, and also of the free-roaming livestock and wildlife on the farm. Mulberry Lavender Farm and B&B is located 70 miles from Nashville, as well as Chattanooga, and only 30 miles from Huntsville. Visitors come from all continents, and the next town over for some well-deserved relaxation.

Wonderful, Relaxing Getaway

5 on September 17, 2017

My husband and I were looking for a quick, relaxing getaway. We heard of a lavender farm in TN and had to check it out. What a wonderful experience! The owners were an amazingly talented couple who were intent on making the stay enjoyable. The cabin feels as if you've stepped back in time. The homemade breakfast the next morning was amazing. We loved getting to meet the different members of the farm---namely the chickens and sheep and geese. A lovely place to stay and plan on visiting again.

Wiley's Room

Unwind in this downstairs room with views of pale green hydrangeas and wandering sheep. The emerging lavender is right below your window. Oh the Fragrance! Watch the logs glow in the stone fireplace, as you write that novel you have plotted for so long. Wiley was not only Jack Daniel, the famous distiller's brother, he was also one of the 300 men who joined the Confederate Army from the tiny town of Mulberry. A statue in the center of Mulberry reminds us of this unique event. Wiley Butler Daniel survived three major and well-known battles, including Gettysburg - The farm at one time was the home of the WB Daniel Distillery. It now is a different distillery, instead of whiskey, it distills lavender essential oil, as part of Mulberry Lavender Farm. Life is good on Mulberry Creek. Please NOTE that the entire farm is NON-SMOKING, to protect the lavender from TMV.

About the innkeepers

Finding this historic property was love at first sight and though it is adapted with modernized amenities (such as indoor plumbing and a private bathroom with each room) we try to stay as faithful to the original design and character of the period as possible. Everything is always better when you can share it and the charm and extraordinary past of this old farm and the area, is bound to bring interesting and like-minded people, who walk in as strangers and leave as friends.

Signature Dish

Freshly baked bread
We love the smell of freshly baked bread and the flavor is outstanding. All ingredients are organic. Our guests love it so much that we packaged the ingredients for them, so they can bake a genuine artisan boule or baguettes with the ease of a seasoned chef, to share the deliciousness with their friends and family at home.
