Wonderful weekend getaway!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway in San Antonio. Short walk to the Riverwalk, fun and vibrant shops, cafes, food trucks and roadside art sales on the same block. Lovely, quaint accommodations and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Will certainly be staying at Eva's next time we are in town.

Wonderful Stay in Historic District

5 on March 02, 2015

Eva's Escape is in a great, safe neighborhood surrounded by beautiful, historic homes and a 20 minute walk on the Riverway to downtown sites and dining. Deborah is a wonderful host, very helpful and a great cook! The housekeeper, Rose Mary was warm and kind. Our room was immaculate, comfortable and quiet. Staying at Eva's provided us a "neighborhood and community experience" where you could walk to restaurants, visit historic homes and get a real taste of San Antonio living and hospitality. Parking on the premises is another plus.

Celebrating 80 in style

Eva's Escape at the Gardenia Inn was the perfect setting to celebrate our mothers 80th Birthday. From the moment we (21) ladies stepped inside we were welcomed with open arms. The dining room was beautiful . Fresh flowers set the tone for a special evening. Mrs. Karen and family made us feel right at home. The food was very good and the fruity tea was great. Thanks Deborah for wonderful evening. Mom, friends and family are still talking about Eva's Escape! I will be back. Trellia

Lovely place

Wonderful B&B south of the Riverwalk area. We stayed in the Magnolia room on the second floor, which gave us access to a nice verandah - a nice place to relax in the summer heat! The food was delicious and they graciously accommodated our dietary needs. There's also evening snacks as well as complimentary cold water and soda. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Riverwalk area, during which we felt safe, even at night. There are many restaurants and bars within a block or two. Everyone was so pleasant and we felt very comfortable and at home.

Eva's Bed and Breakfast San Antonio

No stone is left unturned in the detail the innkeeper (Deborah) puts into everything. I love this B&B and this was my 2nd time. I plan to return when in the area again. If there is anything you need, it is there. Her breakfasts are amazing and she has complementary wine and a snack available each evening. Beautiful Inn with a great location in the King William District.

Relaxing getaway

Glad we found this on bedandbreakfast.com -- we couldn't have been happier with our four-night stay. Breakfast was delicious every morning, and nicely varied. Tasteful decor. Very gracious service by a staff that didn't go overboard and didn't invade our privacy/time in any way. We'd definitely go back. My husband and I stayed the first three nights in the first-floor bedroom, which was a large room with a large bed and a tiny bathroom. No stairs, so probably pretty attractive to older travelers. There was a rare cold spell in San Antonio, so the heating duct adjacent to that room did make some noise -- as soon as I mentioned that the owner gave us earplugs. Because that room was already booked by someone else for our last night, we switched to a smaller room on the second floor. A bigger bathroom, and blissfully quiet all night.

Taking clues from the herbs grown in our garden, the modern carriage house is decorated with hues of green, gray and brown. A modern queen-sized murphy bed anchors the bedroom. The seating options include a high backed loveseat with industrial metal side tables and a pair of custom cowhide metal frame chairs at your bistro table. The murphy bed ensures room for massage tables. Additional spa features include a 2 person jetted tub with our private label bath salts; a steam shower a perfect fit for our private label body scrub. After your private spa experience, relax in front of your fireplace with a glass of wine from the room's refrigerator, a cup of coffee or espresso from the room's Nespresso machine, or a cup of herbal tea. You can choose to have a continental breakfast placed in your room the night before breakfast or join guests in the main house for breakfast.

Lily Room

The original kitchen of the house, for us this room invokes fond memories of the kitchen being the hub of activity. Eva and family created memories of amazing meals while telling stories of eras gone by. Lily is located steps from the living room to enjoy a sitting area or venture out onto the front porch and experience the fun of the treadle porch swing. Once inside the Inn, there are no stairs to climb to enjoy this lovely room, located on the first floor for easy access. Lily is highlighted by a king size carved walnut bed with a wooden canopy. Silk and lace draperies filter the light and enhance the intimate ambiance of this jewel of a room.
