Perfect cottage get away

4.8 on April 25, 2018

Was in town for a wedding. The Royal Oak cottage exceeded my expectations. Check in was so easy. Fun snacks awaited us upon arrival. Very quiet location. Definitely would stay again.

Great and clean! Close to Shops!

My fiance and I stayed here over the weekend. The rooms were very clean and the location was great. The rates are very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone! We will be back!

We spent 3 nights in the Chardonnay suite while visiting Granbury. It is a very spacious suite and the decor although mostly antique is pretty fancy. It needed a thorough cleaning in my opinion and maybe some updated linens. Other than that it was fine for us!

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your review - we're glad you had a good time! I'm sorry if it was dusty - I've already had my housekeeper go over and do a thorough cleaning - that old building just seems to attract dust. I could have come down and cleaned it for you last weekend if you had let me know. We've also checked the sheets and comforter and they are being replaced today - they were starting to show some wear around the edges - that's for bringing that to our attention. Our goal is to make sure everything is perfect for your stay - so it helps when problems are pointed out. See you back soon I hope - thanks!!

Short Getaway

5 on April 07, 2018

Enjoyed our one-night stay in the cozy Garden Cottage on March 21, 2018. Loved the decor, the cleanliness of the rooms, the snacks left for us when we arrived, the outdoor area with the fountain, beautiful live oak trees with a nice swing to sit in under the trees. Since we were the only customers at that time, a wonderful breakfast was brought to our room with French toast, sausage, hash browns, fresh fruit, and juice. It was a quiet, peaceful place located close to the historic town square. We would love to return and stay more than one night. Ed & Gwen Orange, Texas

This was our first experience with a b&b. Everything was was very romantic. There was only one thing that I did not like... the fact that the bathroom was open. It didn’t have a door. I’ve been married a long time but he and I still prefer to go to the bathroom in privacy. I’m not sure if all the cottages are like that but ours were. Everything was else was great.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your nice review! We have now added a bi-fold door between the bedroom and the bathroom of the Carriage House - that was the only kind we could put on due to the way the room was built - several years before we bought the property. Hopefully that will make everyone more comfortable! Come back and visit again!

We have stayed here in the past. The sitting room is now in need of some attention, Where the ceiling and wall meet in the sitting room pieces are literally beginning to fall onto the floor. Normal wear is beginning to also show in the bedroom along the wall. Since it does face the square you might as we did run the AC in order to drown out any noise from the square. Room décor is nice and location is awesome. Amenities are good.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your review! We have been talking with the owner about fixing the wall in the sitting room and hopefully he will take care of it soon! We have insulated the windows but there is some noise, depending on the day, from the square that it faces on - If you're looking for quiet - try one of our cottages on your next trip!

Perfect place to stay!!

5 on March 22, 2018

We stayed here over the weekend and were very pleased. The Carriage House Cottage was absolutely beautiful! We ate breakfast there both mornings and it was a wonderful and delicious variety. The owner hung out with us during breakfast and was so friendly and was able to tell us a lot about the area and things to do. We will most definitely stay there in the future now that we know about the Opera house performances!

An all around phenomenal romantic getaway, will definitely be coming back for years to come! Only negative comment is that the bathroom handles and shower were kinda falling apart but didn’t take away from the overall experience! 9.5/10

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for your kind review! We would like to be able to fix the handles you're talking about - could you please call us and let us know which room you were in....Thank you!

My wife and I stayed here about 4 years ago, and decided to go again this year for a few days without snow. Tom & Sara are good people. The breakfast are excellent and the conversations are fun.
